seidio holster vs otterbox holster

I want a case with a holster and these are the only two I've seen besides ebay stuff. I cant tell which offers the better holster though. I would be carrying it horizontally so I like how the otterbox has the clip on the top. The seidio seems like it has a better clip though since it has a spring in it. Any thoughts?

Otterbox. The way it clips in place it ain't going anywhere. I've owned several. The clip on the Seidio seems to want to push the rubber of the case off the phone, have to really push it out of the way of the phone to put it in. Of course this is speaking of the active...where the rubber part is just too loose.

Also the sedio doesn't allow you to put the phone in face out like the otterbox does. I have the sedio surface and i really like it. Much more slim than the otterbox defender, however i want the ability to put the phone face out as i plan on using the holster as a car mount. Hope this info helps

after seeing pictures posted of the OtterBox I'm thinking that it's just way too big for this phone. I might go with the siedio surface holster and case, I would go with the OtterBox Commuter if it came with a holster but it doesn't. Has anyone had any experience with the surface holster and case with thier note 2?

Siedio cade is also available at Best Buy. They make their Platinum cases brand. Comes with built in kick stand and belt clip. $35

looking for a slim case with kickstand.

hey there guys I'm looking for a case for my samsung Verizon Galaxy Note 2. looking for one that fits the stock battery as well as one that fits the extended battery.trying to find with a kickstand is proving difficult.I don't want a folio or one that closes like a book I want that had the screen open all the time. also need it to be able to go in and out of my pocket easy without catching, smooth if you will but still has some grip. a tall order I know I've looked quite a bit any help is much appreciated.

The seidio surface looks like the thinnest case with a kickstand but I'm just judging by looking online.
You could look into the flygrip too. I have it and it's actually a lot thinner then I thought it would be. I love it, it makes one handed operation so much easier and it doubles as a kickstand you can use in portrait or landscape. Plus you can attach it to any case.

So far this is the thinnest case I've seen with a kick stand. A member posted this case on "Post a picture of your case along with your Note 2" thread. He said that he bought it from China. I've been looking for this case online but can't seem to find it anywhere.

I have the Seidio Surface too, nice case that holds up well and very slim

I have fosmon tpu hybrid case with a kickstand that's pretty slim and has some grip on the sides that I got off of Amazon for maybe 5 dollars

+1 for the Seidio surface case. Good protection, hardly adds any bulk at all, and it does have a kickstand. I usually use the active cases on my phones, but the note 2 being as big as it is, I didn't want to add that much bulk. So far very happy with the surface case. (And I've dropped it a few times, holds up very well.)

Another vote for the surface. I love the look and feel of mine. The only thing to note is that it may push up your screen protector if you have one. I had to trim mine with an exacto knife before I applied it once the surface was on. Now I'm looking at the vitreo as a new surface protector as that'll fit with the surface as is.

I am using this case now. It is good, but too slippery and the kickstand is wearing quickly (starting to fall out of the case occasionally). But not too bulky, and decent protection..

I have that exact case too. After a while the kickstand did start to fall out of the case but i found out it was because the tiny (and I mean tiny) bump that they consider a latch had broken off. So I just dabbed a little super glue and it fits just fine.
It does get a little slippery at times, but I like that the kickstand is pretty sturdy on portrait mode. You don't often see a kickstand that is sturdy and doesn't topple the phone when you press on it.

I have found the snap tail case to be the thinnest kickstand case that will stand the Note up in both vertical and horizontal.

Agreed. Before getting the ZL battery, I tried a couple of kickstand cases and the thinner cases have thin kickstands.

I purchased the Seidio case with the kickstand. I've used their cases for quite some time simply because they have such a low profile and it's easy to remove the battery. My wife has the Otterbox on her Note II, but only because she doesn't know how to hold on to her device and has already shattered one Note II. The protection you get from the Otterbox is nice, but I really prefer the smaller footprint of the Seidio. Also, the kickstand works terrific.

I have the Sedio Surface case and I liked the kickstand on that a lot, but I did have one gripe. After having to take out my battery a few times I noticed the case didn't stay together very well. Sometimes the case would actually come apart in my pocket when I went to grab it from my pocket. I did find sticking some thin paper between the case and the phone helped with it coming apart often though. If you don't find yourself taking off your case a lot it might be a good case.

Looking for a protective case with a belt clip

The HTC M8 was the first phone I decided not to get a case for, just a belt-clipped holster...... I am glad for HTC Advantage.
Anyway, not taking that chance again (especially with how slippery and thin the M8 is). My go-to for cases used to be Otterbox, especially since the defender series has a belt clip. Problem is, I saw nothing but complaints about the defender model for the M8 on Amazon's reviews. Even the guy at the Sprint store told me the defender model wasn't very good and that I should get the commuter. (Not a fan of the built-in screen protector of the defender anyway, I would have probably taken it off, I hated it even on my old EVO 3D, much less a phone that has a 1080p screen).
So now I am at an impasse, due to the fact that I have not really used any other cases, and especially not knowing which ones are good. Add to that fact that I want to be able to carry it on my belt and I am very low on options. Most of the top case recommendations for the M8 had no options that came with a belt clip, and I didn't trust most of them as they recommended the Otterbox Defender.
Browsing retail stores so I could get a good idea was also fruitless, RadioShack, Best Buy, etc carry very little in terms of the M8, even the Sprint Store I mentioned only had Otterbox and a few Speck cases (which didn't seem that protective)
I care very little about looks, I want to get a case primary for protection (reasonably.... not going to get a $100-300 waterproof, bulletproof, etc case that is 5 inches thick). Currently, the UAV Navigator looks interesting, though I couldn't find a store that had it so I could tell how thick it actually is, plus, no belt clip option.
I suppose my best bet is getting a case and a seeprate belt holster that is big enough to hold the phone with the case on it.... but pretty much all belt holsters just simply tell you which phone they fit, none would take the millions of options of cases into consideration, so I am not sure where I would even find a holster that fits whatever case I get.
Any ideas?

I'm in the same boat as you. Ordered a Tech21 case for now, but I need a belt holster and relatively rugged case!

Pretty sure Seidio's Convert case comes with a belt holster. I've had good luck with Seidio Surface cases on the past--my Note II survived a fall from four feet off the ground thanks to one--and IIRC the heart of the Convert is a Surface.

I won't lie, it IS kinda cheaply put together, but it's pretty decent for it's price. Rubber casing with a hard shell, kickstand, and belt holster. It's a little hard to get it in/out of the holster at first, but it gets broken in after a bit. Still not as easy as just clipping it out of an Otterbox holster, but even the Sprint store rep told me the Otterbox Defender cases for the M8 are terrible. And it's far less likely to fall out if you are running or otherwise shaking the holster somehow.

I always go with Otterbox, and I actually love the otterbox I have for my M8. I got the defender, and I was surprised how thin it is! I've had an Otterbox on just about every phone I've owned, and this is by far my favorite one. Don't know why all the hate is there on Amazon.

They must have more than one type of Defender. I've had Otterbox Defenders on all my iPhones (3, 3GS, 4 and 5) and loved them, but I looked at the one for the HTC One M8 and it was really flimsy and cheaply made. It was so horrible, I'm surprised they would even put their branding on it.

How is the kickstand? Can you use it while holding the phone to help stabilize it more in your hand?

The Spigen Ultra Hybrid fits in the Seidio Surface holster. That's the combination I use. You can actually get the Platinum case combo from Best Buy since it's a rebranded Seidio Surface case and holster, and it's cheaper than buying it from Seidio. The holster also works well with the Supcase Unicorn Beetle cases.
Aaaaaand if you wanted more protection, the Seidio Dilex holster is a perfect fit with the Spigen Slim Armor case. I think someone mention this in this thread already as well.

Can you link to that? I can't find it? I've liked Seido in the past (expensive though). I got the clear unicorn beetle supcase, and think for looks that I would prefer that...but nice to have a holster.

I had a similar one at one point for my droid. It's alright. This type of case though while pretty slim, your phone will bounce out of it if it drops from more than a couple feet onto a hard surface. Usually the phone is fine (the case absorbs) but on the upbounce the phone will pop out,

Thanks but that link seems to be just for the case, not a holster/case combo. Am I misunderstanding?
I guess it's not a huge deal anyway as I refuse to buy anything from best buy...just wanted to see the item to see if it was available anywhere else.

Case with Kickstand?

As that title states, are there any good ones out there currently? I enjoy this type of stand so I can easily tilt the phone on a flat surface to watch videos and whatnot.

I bought some Seidio stuff back when I bought my first EVO and otterbox had not yet developed an otterbox case for it. I've found all of their stuff to be A1 quality.

I've been using seidio cases ever since the treo pro and loved them but with the Note 5 the magnet that holds the kickstand in place seems to interfere when using the Spen. I thought it was just me until I saw someone else post about it.

I got the Spigen Slim Armor but haven't tried it on since I don't yet have my phone. The kickstand is a little flimsy but should be a little more stable once the phone is actually in the case. It's reasonably priced as well.

How much thickness does this add to the phone? I'm searching for a thin case with a kickstand. I just ordered one off Amazon but it has the magnet in the case so I'm probably going to return it because of the magnet causing issues with the phone.

I prefer cases with a kickstand that can be used vertically and horizontally. It makes it easy to watch video as well as making the phone easier to handle with one hand.

Holster suggestions

What works with that.... I tried to forget using a holster but i need one. I currently have a UAG case and i know what i can get but i have a new case coming. So suggest "universal" holsters

There are so many custom sized cases online its impossible to suggest one that will work for your new case. You are going to have to sit down and figure it out the hard way when you get the new case... Most custom universal type cases are pleather pouch type cases. The quality will vary greatly. Good luck! This is why the majority of people only buy cases that have optional holsters.

Too big for a holster in my opinion. I keep my Note 5 in my front right pocket with nothing else in the pocket. That way I can get it quickly and it is also protected.

I just got my uag case today and was able to modify my supcase holster a little bit to fit it. It actually works pretty well.

It's difficult to recommend a universal holster, because the holster usually is going to fit the case that comes with it. I had a platinum (best buy) brand holster, case and kickstand combo case. I'm not going to recommend it cause your looking for universal holster that should fit your UAG case. But It's the case I used to use. It didn't last long, I threw it away after about a week worth of use.

It you want to just use the phone in a holster without a case, this Encased Spring Clip holster sold on Amazon is fantastic.

I'm using a Ghostek Atomic 2.0 case and this. I'm sure your case would fit it. Comes in black too. Not really a holster as much of a pouch, but I love mine.
