You only need to press the power and volume up button.
Press and hold together for 10-15 seconds. Feel it vibrate once, thats a reboot. If you contimue to hold you will feel 3 vibrations, thats a shutdown (Like to pulling the battery)
It has been mentioned already in lots of threads and is actually mentioned in the quick instructions that comes with the phone, but thanks for sharing.

how replace hard key by a software??

Hello evereybody.
I searched all the NET but no answer.
I think is very difficult use hard keys (HOME and BACK) on a android systeme on my HD2. My fingers are long
So it will be cool if somebody do a soft who do same actions like hard back and home keys.
For exemple we can slide left for replace BACK hard key or slide right for replacement of HOME hard key.
Another exemple a soft who use multitouch possibilities.

Ironically, swkey mentioned above, [Jan 7][APP] V1.0.9 Sidebar style SWKey - Button savior was literally the thread directly beneath yours. There's only 8 threads in the forum you created this thread in. It's clear that you definitely did not search for 2 days before posting. Please look a bit harder next time.

[Q] Disable Power Menu w/ Hacked Camera

Is there any way to disable the power menu from coming up when you hold the power button to take photos in roms with the hacked camera?
I remember that with some of the Froyo roms that had the hacked camera, it was possible to shoot by holding the power key without the power menu popping up.
I know you don't *have* to hold the power button to take a shot, but if I release the button before it actually takes the shot, it ends up shaking the phone, and I have worse pictures.
i started a thread on this months ago. i would love that feature too.
BUT DONT POST QUESTIONS IN THE DEVELOPMENT SECTION!

[Q] Power Button Issue- Hardware or Software?

My power button has been acting up for about a month now. When I press it, it will only turn on the screen one out of every 20 presses or so, and my power menu pops up randomly without me having touched the power button at all. The problem has persisted on 4 different roms, including ICS, GB, and stock froyo roms. My question is: How can I determine whether this is a hardware or software issue? What are my options in either situation?
Thanks in advance for any help!

If you would like to know WHAT pm'd, i have no problem sharing the same info with you (as another pm, this one to you). As robm1911, had said, outside links to pay services are a no no, which is why i sent him a pm. [Q] Note N7000 ultra-superbricked

Hello everybody. You're my last hope!
Here's my situation: I bought a second hand Note a year back, and it's suddenly done a hard brick on me. So hard my computer can't even see it when I use the USB data cable.
I'd rooted it with CWM, flashed a custom JB ROM, and had been using Link2SD to shift some non-essential apps to a secondary partition and free up some system space. Although all the above came with their hiccups, I'd been using the phone without a hitch for about a week when "it" happened.
Today I pick it up and it has the "Galaxy Note N7000" welcome screen, which disappears when I hold down the power button. After that, nothing. Nothing from the power button, nothing from the power button+menu button+volume up. Nothing when I replace the battery with my fully charged spare. Nothing when I plug it in to charge, nothing when I connect it to the PC. No warning, nothing. Out of the blue, just like that.
After a bit of online rummaging I think I need a JTAG fix, something like "Samsung Galaxy Note - JTAG Brick Repair Service (Debricking/Unbrick/Brick FIX)" by MobileTechVideos on Youtube (I'd paste a link, but this site). Problem is, I'm all the way out here in Turkey. What would you suggest?
Thank you in advance.
PS: I'm struck by how all this makes you appreciate the simpler things in life. Like your father-in-law's little old beat-up Nokia that never skipped a beat all these years and is now saving your life. Is it really so hard to make a phone that is guaranteed to boot no matter what?

When I plug my USB cable into the device, LITERALLY nothing happens. No sound, no vibration, nothing on the screen nothing. My computer doesn't know I've plugged anything in, not even on Device Manager.
Forget about connecting to the PC, can you enter download mode (Vol down, home and power)?

The link you listed is very reliable JTAG service and costs $50 US. I would use DHL to ship it.
If thats not an option, you can buy a replacement mainboard. I would use www.tvc-mall.com in Hong Kong.
OK...

Sorry for not reading more carefully, and for not realising the difference between recovery and download mode.
I've tried vol down and I'm still getting nothing. I tried it with my USB cable plugged into my PC, and once I got a notification that it tried and failed to find a device driver for the "Unknown device".
Yes and now u download the driver for it.

Firstly, my PC only saw the device ONCE. I haven't been able to get it to happen again. Secondly, even if I do download a "Samsung N7000 driver" or whatnot, it's no good if the PC can't see that I've plugged in an N7000. "Unknown device"???
Reports of my stupidity have been greatly exaggerated.
Some maturity please
Goodness you guys are in a real snark aren't you?
Look, the whole point of this forum is that I don't know something that you do. I ask the question, and anybody who's feeling helpful today tells me what I need to know.
But when somebody, as in my case, clearly isn't aware of, say, a separate download mode that is accessed by pressing the vol down key, all they get is sarcasm and snobbery. The person asking for help gets treated like an idiot, and this gets "thanked" for "putting the noob in his place". Everybody's so busy giving themselves an ego massage they forget to come up with any actual solutions.
I didn't come here for that.

Who started the sarcasm? The person who wanted help switched to arrogancy when a really helping member showed the correct way.
And: you install custom roms on your device without even trying to read and learn as a necessary preparation. But demanding help without listening.
As you said: we didn't come here for that too.
You might reconsider and start reading the standard tutorials here how to root etc. Most members did this. The sort of "Noob" and "so I do not need to read myself" are luckily rare.
OK calling a truce here

I'm sorry if that came across as arrogant. Not being aware of a vol down download mode, I thought it was the other person who hadn't bothered to read up, and that was my way of keeping it light instead of flaming the person. Turned out the person who hadn't read carefully enough was me, and I apologised for it, if you remember.
Actually, I have read the standard tutorials about how to root and followed the instructions very closely. I also am not the kind of person who says "I do not need to read myself", I merely misread, as I said about ten times already. I simply never needed the download mode while rooting my phone, and missed the distinction between download mode and recovery mode. Strange, I know, but there it is.
I am not demanding help without listening. What I am demanding is a little patience and politeness. Can you say that you have added anything to the conversation except sarcasm and put-downs?
my last addon to this not even funny thread:
if you read so many tutorials and following them so closely but missed download mode: maybe better stop flashing.

I am very thankful of the assistance given, and I have apologised whenever I have been at fault. But ThaiDai basically called me an idiot (hence the double quotes), and all I am saying is that snide insults are never, ever justified. Or are you saying they are, and I have no right to object?
Sorry for poisoning this thread...
You know what, I've had enough of this argument. More fool me for trying to talk down noob haters when all I wanted was a solution to my problem.
Thank you to Spydertracks for being so patient with me to start with, and sorry for not reading more carefully. Thank you to rangercaptain for the recommendation. If anybody else has anything to add I'd be very grateful.

Screenshot?

How in God's name do you get a screenshot on this thing. Everything I read says to hold down the power and volume down buttons at the same time, but whenever i try that, it turns the ringer all the way down and/or then reboots.
It takes a little practice

It was less of a waste of bandwidth than the bickering and trolling about root, boot loader unlock, and LP rollout that is filling the rest of this forum. Thanks for adding something actually useful.
