I'm living in Korea right now.
SK telecom has already released their LTE snapdragon a couple of weeks ago.
I heard rumors that KT was to release their 3g model, but what I had found out is that it's the LTE snapdragon model with 3g enabled.
This is very disappointing news to me as I expected the exynos processor from KT.
Now a few questions:
1. I've heard that snapdragon vs exynos difference on paper looks massive, but user experience is about the same, is this true?
2. Where are the reputable sellers for gnote 3g model (I heard amazon and handtech)
3. For those users that bought it overseas.. how are you handling no warranty? Korea samsung provides great warranty (even if you break the phone on accident) they'll replace it for free. I'm very scared that one day the galaxy note 3g version might just die and i'll be out of luck.

2) I'd probably get it from Amazon but if you're in Korea already you should have other options. Have you considered contacting Samsung in Korea?
3) Good question, if there is a presence in your country for the source you purchased it from, I've heard there should be coverage but I'd like to know for sure before ordering..

That link actually proves how unreliable the Snapdragon is...
The Snapdragon had Quadrant scores of anywhere from 2100-3300 which is EXTREMELY unstable...
My old S2 got consistant Quadrant scores of 3600-3700 on Stock

1) It's actually the opposite. On paper, the Snapdragon looks amazing with it's 1.5ghz clock speed compared to the Exynos 1.4ghz, but the Snapdragon is very unreliable.

3) The OG Note works with HSPA+ and will most likely have more sales than the LT**** note. Just look at the int'l S2 and compare those forums to the Skyrocket forums. It's like 50 devs versus 2-5 devs in the ****rocket forums.

In Korea, cell phone plans get a discount depending on the plan. The higher then plan, the higher the discount.
So just guestimating, if I get one of the Korean LTE models, I will be able to save $200-$400 depending on the plan vs getting the 3g european model.
So it begs the options:
Pay $200-$400: exynos + awesome xda developer support, 3g unlimited
Save $200-$400: qualcom, small if not no dev support, 4g LTE capped

Depends on your budget & what you want to do with it now? There will likely be more dev support if AT&T announce their LTE version in a few weeks. I'm trying to hold out for more info on AT&Ts LTE version as it should be more future-proof & by this month's end I should be in an LTE market but I'd rather not wait until April if that's really what they would announce soon. You have options now & don't have to wait!

Unfortunately korean models are different than usa models because of firmware. I know this first hand as i own the korean galaxy tab 10.1 and failed to install custom roms as well as other korean gtab owners.
As for the speed ill get back to you tomorrow. My coworker has an lte phone so i can get someanswers for you.

I am in the market for a tablet and I am considering the Galaxy Tab 8.9. AT&T in the US is offering a deal where if you buy and activate an AT&T locked 8.9 Galaxy Tab you get a free Samsung Galaxy S2 or S2 Skyrocket.
Here are my questions:
1. What are the benefits or drawbacks from buying the AT&T branded and locked Galaxy Tab 8.9 versus the unlocked Galaxy Tab as shown here on Expansys: http://www.expansys-usa.com/samsung...16gb-android-tablet-black-850-1900-3g-223265/
2. Is the AT&T Galaxy Tab easy to unlock and use sim cards from other countries when traveling abroad?

4. Would it be possible to flash the rom of the unlocked Galaxy tab to the AT&T Tab?

I will try to answer you the best I can.
1. AT&T version is faster and newer from my knowledge, but with far less developmental support. ATT supports 4g and LTE while the old tabs only do 3g and wifi. The older generation tablets have good developmental support with an ICS port in development. No custom ROMS at the moment for the ATT version.
2. No experience here, sorry.
3. The old tabs have tegra2 chips, while the ATT version uses qualcomm (snapdragon) chipsets. ATT is 1.5ghz while the 3g one is 1ghz. Both dual core. ATT battery capacity is ever so slightly larger as well. ATT version is 2 grams heavier (lol). The ATT one is considered snappier and more responsive from what i hear, but if the 3g one receives ICS then they could be comparable. The ROMS and Kernels from the older tabs are not compatable with the ATT LTE one. The closest thing to the ATT tablet is the Galaxy S II Skyrocket.
4. ATT Tab is only rooted at the moment through a custom kernel. No CWM or ROMS yet.

Okay so last week I traded my white tmo gs2 even for my note. Now I have to make a decision. I have to either keep my amazing exynos note with edge, trade it for an att note, or sell it to a friend for a white tmo gs2 plus $170. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Keep the damn Note! The Exynos is better (maybe way better) than the Snapdragon from the AT&T Note (and 4G isn't really that useful considering the download speed you already have (up to 21 Mbit/s) and the browsing speed with chrome beta) and the screen and size of the galaxy note just put it ahead of the s2 for many many things.

If I were you I would switch to AT&T instead. Get the AT&T note for $250 from Amazon with a 2 year contract. Get it unlocked and sell the new AT&T note. Keep the international note. The international note works with AT&T HSPA+. I've been getting about 6-9 Mbps on AT&T HSPA+.
People were able to get the AT&T note working on TMO's 3G but seems like the signal strength is low.
I want to get the note with ATT after I leave verizon (no point in staying if I can't keep unlimited when I upgrade). I want to know that if I install roms for the I7000 or whatever (international version, right?) will I run into any problems? Is there any differentiation between the att version of the note and the international one? And if so, how can I weed out the development for the att note?
Also curious, if I can install international roms on the ATT version, will I retain my lte?

Different hardware entirely. Either buy the ATT note and checkout the ATT note forum, or do what I did and buy the international note (unlocked) and use on AT&T network (in which case this is the correct forum). But you can't mix.

That's exactly what I did. I have the unlocked GT-N7000 (this forum model) on the ATT network. But yeah, totally different phones.

I have been doing a ton of research on the Note, so this is one of the few questions I can answer here. Not all of them...but most. Since I am still new here I am unable to add links.
The Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 (International) has a a dual-core 1.4 GHz Exynos processor. Externally, it has a physical "home" button and two touch-sensitive buttons. It also has a built in radio.
The Samsung Galaxy Note SGH-I717 (US & Canada) has a Qualcomm MSM8660 Snapdragon with a dual-core 1.5 GHz Scorpion CPU and an Adreno 220 GPU. It has four touch-sensitive buttons instead of two. It can do LTE.
Looking at that you might think that the I717 is just better all around. This -apparently - is incorrect. In the bench marked tests I saw with a Galaxy Note with Exynos VS. the Galaxy Note with Snapdragon, the Exynos based one beat Snapdragon performance wise.
Galaxy Note with Exynos
GLBenchmark 2.1 Egypt High: 2827 Frames (25.0 Fps)
GLBenchmark 2.1 Egypt Standard: 3012 Frames (26.7 Fps)
Galaxy Note with Snapdragon

The site I found this from is called "Galaxy Tabs" from a a Feb 6, 2012 post.
Which leaves the question - Why would Samsung use a less hefty chip in the US & Canada version. The reason I have found is that the Exynos processor can't do LTE. Then again - weather all this is good or not depend on preferences and pattern of use.

The att i717 has lte. If u using internet alot and your area has lte. Its better to use the att gnote. U can always overclock tge i717gnote to make tge clock faster.. After overclock there's no lag issues and it runs super smooth. But if u want more custom roms abd faster offical update. Buy the international gnote. Either way u cant go wrong. I chose attgnote cos tge lte and i overclock my note. It runs super smooth and super fast downloads cos tge lte!!

I want to buy a Note 4, but I am unsure which chipset I should go for. I want the exynos chipset, but I am very doubtful about it. My only question is: Why does samsung ship exynos equipped Note 4 to poor countries and the snapdragon version to richer countries? I doubt that the snapdragon equipped Note 4 may be better built, more reliable and more stable than the exynos one, but I am not sure about this. Some people complain about different issues, like screen tint, glass edge gap, etc. What do you guys think of this? Can you share your experiences and thoughts?

Quality between the two are pretty much the same, just different chips.
Exynos is also shipped to the middle east countries, such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, I dunno if you can call them poor countries lol.
They only shipped exynos versions to poor countries? Lol thats the funniest statement i read so far

He is right UK, Germany , Italy, France, Spain and US all have snapdragon equipped Note 4
so maybe he have something in his statement
The nordics also get snapdragon so it does seem Samsung is shipping the exynos to third world countries and not risking it in developed countries.
Western and indrustrialised countries get the snapdragon, third world ones get the exynos, with very few exceptions. I myself want an exynos, but I know that in general the same product's quality (like the same car or the same clothes) differs depending on the country it is going to be shipped to. A friend of mine who works in an electronic service, repairing different electronic products also told me this from his long experience in that field. It's a fact, but I'm not sure if this is the case here.

Errm, the UAE and New Zealand are certainly not 'poor countries' and as I understand the former got N910C and latter N910U, both Exynos.
Here in South Africa we got the Euro N910F Snapdragon, the Exynos N910C and the 3G only N910H, so what does that make us?

Here in SA? Between $910-$1045, the N910F being the most expensive and N910H being the least expensive of the 3.
That's BS. Am in Germany and I got the Exynos N910C. Unless Germany belongs to the poor countries[emoji85]

My friend has galaxy S5 G900F for Europe (first world), with snapdragon 801 which was 50 euros more expensive than the one with exynos G900H (Galaxy S5 also has 2 chipsets, just like Note 4), not even the smallest lag. Yesterday he installed the official android 5.0 and it was so smooth and responsive. So I don't think that lag in Note 4 exists, maybe I'm wrong.
I bought in Slovenia version N910F, was using it for 7 days but I was really dissapointed with battery life of Snapdragon model, so I returned it and changed for N910C Exynos model.
I do it purposely because of two reasons:
Battery life and Exynos is 64bit SoC, thus it is not enabled yet, probably will be enabled in near future.

Don't even bother with this argument, there are people who believe the Snapdragon lags, leave them, not all of us have the same experience, its a pointless argument.
My goodness. The only real difference is baseband... If using Qualcomm baseband, there is financial incentive to purchase the whole SOC.

I don't know why the OP thinks Samsung would vary the build quality by SoC, its all down to what country and networks they are shipping to, the setup the networks have, frequencies available in that country etc etc....
Some countries get both Snapdragon and Exynos, like here in SA, we got both variants from the GS4, Note 3, GS5 and now Note 4. I had a Exynos S4 and a mate had a Snapdragon S4, I couldn't even tell the difference until I went to About Device and saw that he had a I9505, build quality, UI speed, Display etc...Felt no different to my Exynos S4, same with Note 3, played with an Exynos in-store then a mate got the Snapdragon from our network, again I felt no difference, its the very reason why I stopped being fussy about what SoC variant I get.
So OP, if you want Exynos then get it, its build quality is the same as the Snapdragon, unless you are unlucky and get one from a bad batch.

I don't know man. I opened this thread for opinions. I am also not talking about huge differences in quality, but today I went to a shop and took a look at a Note 4 N910H (Asia Pacific) and I wasn't very happy about the screen. Its white turned cyan with very small rotations of the phone. Its glass was also a bit edgy at one corner (very little though, not visible if you don't check for it). I can only compare it to my friend's S5 G900F (Europe), which's display doesn't have the color issue. I also know that not every Note 4 has these ''problems''. It may just be just a coincidence though.
It is more about gsm. Specifically the available bands in your country. Thus why some countries get more than one variant.
As far as build quality, I would say the Korean ones are probably better binned overall, but not necessarily true. You would probably get a better screen if made in Korea. Other variables are involved. Seems the note4 snapdragon soc is shipping with mostly higher binned SOC's compared to previous phones with older snapdragons. I am not sure how well the exynos is binned as far as soc. Not many people updated their bin #'s in that thread.
