[Q] Shortcut to power button - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. My power button starts to cause problems and sometimes I have to torment to bring up the menu (profiles, screenshot, reboot). Is there any way to create a shortcut to the menu? Eg "1Tap Quick Bar" app creates a shortcut, but only to reboot (even without the choice standard/CWM). I searched all activities of system apps but found nothing. As a last resort can I map the camera button as power one?

Just go to market and type "Shutdown Menu". It has everything you need.

OK thanks, but it solves my request partially. I need whole power menu with screenshot and profiles

Custom action for soft '+' button

Hi,
Does anyone know of a way to change what the '+' button at the bottom of the home screen does. At the moment it links to the ad widget/program/shortcut option menu. but once you have your home screen all sweet you don't really need this. You can always just long press on the screen to reach this menu anyway.
I would like to customize this button to launch directly into an application, or perhaps a shortcut to a sound profile context menu.
Any ideas?

[Q] How to remap long press button & vol up&down buttons: any app or manual mod?

[Q] How to remap long press button & vol up&down buttons: any app or manual mod?
Hi!
I have a Galaxy S and searching for mapping the long press button so to launch a custom app, and the vol up & down so to manage next or perv song in player.
For the first one I have found a home & search button switcher. It is called HomeSmack and its free on the Market. It allows to change the default launcher invoked with the home button (like the famous app Home Switcher for Froyo), but it also attempts to remap the long press that is bind to the recent pop-up.
This last feature would work if I could Clear Defaults to the Android app that invokes the recent pop-up. I realized this because is written in the tutorial of a task switcher called TapIt that I was trying to use. It says that without clearing those defaults it is not able to bind a new app to the long press.
Is there a way to clear those defaults? What android app is involved?
Otherwise how is it possible to remap the long press with another app?
About the vol up & down, I wouldt like to remap them ONLY in a song player, and have back the vol control in regular phone use. Is it possible?
Otherwise is there a third party player that has this functionality?
Thank you.

One of the lacking feature in Android is the lack of a built-in screen capture feature (like in iPhone). Not anymore. With MIUI, you can press the “Menu” key and “Volume Down” key at the same time to capture a screenshot. The printed image is saved in the “MIUI: directory in the sd card.

Any way to activate menu without three dots?

I believe this has something to do with new Android system.
I have some older apps like nbpro or simple task switcher that don't have three dots. Is there any way on tab s2 to remap an existing key to menu key? For example, long press switching or long press home will activate menu?
I found that I can have more settings key by activating assistant menu under accessibility. Assistant menu is a cyan circle, once tapped, it explodes to show further onscreen keys. To able to assign more settings to a key off the screen or to a gesture would be nice. I am not ready to root my tab s2 yet. Or else using xposed would be handy.
Long press the back button. It brings up settings/menu
Long press back key does work sometimes.
In some app like nbpro, the menu, more options appear when I hold back key after lo press. When I release after the long press the more options disappear. It sometimes does not register very well. I don't know if it is something to do with the app or something to do with the system.

How do I customize the Menu/Recent button in CM13

I just recently flashed the CM13 and I found out the recent apps has to be accessed using the home button! I prefer the original lollipop button layout so I went searching around and found the 'Button' option in the settings and I was able to customise the home button, power button and the volume rocker but there was no option to customise the menu key to use it to access the recent apps!
I searched the settings for Menu and it showed up there but when I tap it, it goes back to the 'Button' options but it doesn't appear anywhere in there.
What do I do?
Same here, its frustrating. Do you have solved your problem?
