Q: Where can I find the correct RADIO SBF file for Cellcom Israel Atrix4G? - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone worked very good for 1 Year but recently it boots 80% of times when placing a call.
I have learned from the forums that the problem is the radio rom and I should flash a correct radio file.
I also find instructions how to flash an SBF rom in "[GUIDE] Flash SBF to Motorola Atrix 4G - xda-developers.htm"
but the files in that tread are inaccessible.
I also find other threads with unclear posts to flash radio.img, but also those files are inaccessible.
Can someone point me to the correct radio file and the correct method to flash it?
Thanks
Eli

Wrong device, this is the forum for the Xperia Z, you need to ask this in Atrix 4G forum

wonder why so many users who have different devices get's lost here on Xperia Z forum? lol already encountered 3 threads this is the 4th one.

Some noob questions.

Hey friends.
I have some questions which i can't seem to find the answer to.
1. what's all that deal with SPL? what exactly is that and why do i need to flash it before flashing the radio version? what do i have to watch out from in order to not bricking my phone?
2. I wanted to flash a radio version from ERE36B that was posted on modaco site.
I downloaded the zip, copied to the sdcard, flashed it using the amonra 1.7 recovery. it said that it was successfully flashed but the radio version hadn't changed. what did i do wrong? I wanted to flash using fastboot but there were no .img files posted. only after extracting the zip files there is an img file inside along with some other files that may be important.
3. why are there different versions of superboot for each build? I mean, after I used superboot once and rooted my phone - I won't have to use it ever again.
no?
many thanks and sorry for the long post.
1. SPL stands for Second Program Loader. but you wont have to worry about it on the Nexus One. Its a different story for the G1.
2. If flashing the radio is successful then your baseband should be 4.04.00.03_2. And you might already had that radio if you just recently bought your phone.
3. Superboot version is not different. As long as you flash a rooted version of the rom then you will still retain root. But if you flash back to a stock rom, then you'll lose root. So always use nandroid to backup.
Thanks for the answer
So what exactly are the risks ?
is it possible to brick the nexus one or it's completely impossible?
10x!

Problem with return

I'm having to return my Galaxy S for a replacement, however before i realised there was a hardware issue, i flashed it.
Since i'm in Australia, on Optus, there isn't a leaked DTJF3 image. So i can't just flash back to the original.
Is there a way using busybox, or an update.zip (I create and sign update.zips, Have done a little) to update the model numbers to at least look like i haven't been messing with it. Best to be safe rather than have them not honor the warranty because of a flashed update.
I ask in here as this is where the people with an intimate knowledge of the underlying code hang out.

aRTie
Australian Stock Rom (Dump) : ............
PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU ARE NOT A DEVELOPER, PLEASE DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS FILE.
http://rapidshare.com/files/406741229/dump.tar !!!!
not my work but taken from this forum, so mayb try a search before posting
So I guess the first silly question would be.....
how to separate out the CSC, Phone & PDA tar files from the Dump?
Or is there a way to use Odin to flash the dump.tar?
(just thought I'd ask the question before the OP does )
****************
Ok, so i was just looking at Odin, and there is a place where you can upload the dump.tar file. Is it really that simple - select the dump.tar downloaded from this thread, keep all other PDA/CSC/Modem spots empty, maybe select re-partition then flash??

Hey mate, caught in a similar situation here. The dump is not available now, do you mind uploading to another location? I know many other users waiting for this as well.
All the best with your flashing.
In the end until there is a leaked copy of the rom,we won't be able to flash it.we can customize with update.zip however we can't turn the dump into a rom.
The dump will contain the optus parts of the rom.but not the rom itself. I just figured someone may be able to help me fool the about screen into showing the wrong rom version.
At some point nandroid might get running, then we can do some interesting stuff until then, we just wait.
That's how I understand it

During inspection of your handset, the firmware check is done by the supplied tools to Optus, this will have no effect even if you change the About section on the Android OS, voiding your warranty further. I would rather advise you to wait for a month or so until 2.2 update comes up on Optus, then you can update the firmware via recovery.

the dump has a different format, it doesnt have a radio and csc file ( though you dont need it ) but you still need samsung.pit file i.e the bootloader file .. but be careful while doing that.

[Q] Odin questions and such...

I could not find my answers to these questions so I will ask here.
Although I have managed to muddle through flashing to a couple of roms, the soft bricked my captivate <currently waiting on jig cable from ebay>, I now, while searching for methods to flash a fresh, stock froyo rom, have many different questions.
I don't know the different files to choose in odin under file selection, their extensions, or what the files do. I have looked for an in-depth odin toturial, but can't find it.
Can you tell me, or point me to the threads, the following...
1. What are: PIT, PDA, PHONE and CSC files? I should not have been trying to flash anything without knowing this. What does each file do? I have never tried to flash anything but a tar file using the PDA input. Now I realize I dont' understand what i'm doing.
2. Given the above question, how DO I flash a soft-bricked captivate back to life once I get into download mode? At this point, I have no idea what files I need or where to get them, or the order to flash them.
3. Noobiest question of all: how do I understand the nomenclature for all of the downloads like: ...XXJ**...? Have no clue what I need.
Thanks,
Viper
PIT (partition information table) is its own little file to repartition your phone. 95% of everything goes in PDA (whole roms, kernels, bootloaders etc) CSC and phone aren't used as much and I honestly don't know what they are so you got me there.
Soft brick is easy, just get back in Download mode and flash a stock rom (JF6, KB1, KB2, or any other leak firmware around (KF1, KH3, KI#, KJ#) The names samsung uses is based on year and month it was released with a number wich is just order it was made (I believe thats how they name it)
Edit: Found here UCJF6 is UC= United States Cingular, J=2010, F= June, 6 means it was the 6th in the month of june.
Here is a rough short tutorial video I did a while back that may be helpful...

Hello, I have flashed XT883 on XT862 successfully through the following steps.
(1) Apply 1-Click flash to downgrade from .906 to .890
(2) Download MOTO XT883_ROM 2.3.6-SLNCT-60.3.250.zip. Unzip it to a folder 'A'.
(3) Unzip the 1-Click flash to another folder 'B'.
(4) Copy the content of folder 'A' to a new folder 'C'.
(5) Copy boot, cdt, recovery of folder 'B' into folder 'C' >> Replace them.
(6) Reboot into Fastboot. Check your Fastboot version is 0A.53.
(7) Flash using the XML in folder 'C'.
The screen will reboot and it will take between 10 - 15 minutes to get up.
Once up, leave the Network as 'Global' or 'CDMA'. Do not choose 'GSM'.
Go to APN and set your operator settings.
That's it!
The above worked for me. Unfortunately the network is unstable. It often switch down my 3G and remains in 2G network. Frustrating.
If someone knows how to remains in 3G network. Kindly shared with us!

Ok so you should first download Z1-lockeddualrecovery2.8.3-RELEASE.installer.zip, just google it, I cant put links up.
Unzip it and execute the install script, make shure you activate USB Debbuging, it will ask you if you are rooted or not, if not it will still install custom recovery and you can root from there, you can also flash custom roms from there.
just a few things i gotta clear up if someone could answer :
Since im on a locked bootloader, which development thread do i use...
do i flash custom kernals or no? (pretty sure this would brick since the bootloader is locked?)
i know how to flash customs i just dont wanna go through the process of soft bricking and getting flashmod and sony to restore it like last time...
Edit:
i can get it rooted, and dual recovery installed... but every rom i try to install (even when it says its compatable) i get a sony logo or nothing at all...
do i have to update to 490 first?
