Motorola can Unlock Our Bootloader! - Motorola Droid 3

Hi everyone,
I am a Droid 3 user from China.
Someone's motorola device has been unlocked, but their device is Defy not Droid 3.
But I think the way is the same.
Original URL:
http(sorry)://bbs(sorry).mfunz.com/(sorry)forum.php?mod=v(sorry)iewthread&tid=298577
I Poorly Translated it:
"
I carelessly made my defy from BL=4 to BL=6 so I can't flash any rom lower than BL=6, so I go to Moto's customer service, and I tell him my phone suddenly power off and can't open anymore.
Moto scanned my phone and made my phone unlocked, now I can flash any rom lower than 6.
I lied so that I can see the whole process. I noticed their tools, it is "TI Board Configure Tool" and flashed a 16MB file.
another way to unlock is to replace the emmc chip.
After replace it, the device showed in RSD is from"S Flash OMAP 3630" to"SE Flash OMAP 3630"
and Original URL with picture: http(sorry)://(sorry)bbs.gfan(sorry).com/android(sorry)-5040878-1-1.html
I posted to XDA FORUM and wish someone can get the tools and UNLOCK it for All Motorola OMAP DEVICE!
Thanks!

i believe that if device is unlocked it will say so in
AP Fastboot Flash Mode
(with device off, hold volume down & power, to boot)

Could you clarify if it's the external SD? Because if it's the internal, how would we get back? And if it is just the external, this has full CWM recovery, orrrr? Details man, DETAILS!
Awesome! Thanks for getting this going Eugene.

I would have to say the reason we haven't seen a deodexed system file is we don't have root so we don't have a way to put it in over the existing one. Or is there a away?
Does this help

Accessing Recovery
I'm not sure if anyone is aware of this, however, I was able to access the recovery by simply holding down x while powering on the device. once you see the little android logo, just tap simultaneously volume up & down buttons. you should be able to perform simple stuff such as factory resets. now you can also push an update.zip file so if any developers can push an exploitable .zip file to gain root access feel free too!
That would be nice. What do we name bootloader .zips on this phone? My last device was an Incredible and we named those PB31IMG.zip.
Once we get cwm and I can get a boot.img I can (try to) make a slimmed-down rom with some bloat removed.
Sent from my DROID3 using XDA App
not sure. but i'll do some research.
Nice that sounds like it makes an improvement towards rooting since that was how the thunderbolt had to be rooted too

No. The HTC phones are different; That method uses Fastboot to install an update rather than using Recovery.

Easier way to flash GB .kdz

Does anyone know of an easier way to flash the gb baseband than what is shown on this post?

And does the method on this post also update the baseband?

Well like I have been saying if you are going to do it make sure you know what you are doing and that you understand every step before you do it. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
...fighting ninjas at night. Talking about this and that.
I think baseband method is harder to set up but so much easier to switch roms with.. takes me 3 to4 minutes to switch between my froyo and gb roms.. or 90 seconds to flash baseband

i flashed the GB KDZ using the second link and it was pretty easy and im a newbie with Android modding. All you have to do is follow the instructions and even if it goes to the bootloop do the power volume down and ed all together and you can erase user data and it will load properly.
Anybody else having a problem downloading from links in second link?
Sent from my LG-P925 using xda premium
yeah it took forever but I finally got the files downloaded but the flash isn't working for me it stops at 6 percent
Colburne is going to tutor me on the fine art of app development and my first project is going to be a 1 click flash baseband. He's been pretty busy but hopefully we'll have time soon to sit down, and I'll start learning, catch on quickly, and come out with something.

Here you go guys for anyone having issues with the s voice giving them the network error. Use this .zip instead. That would mean delete the s voice you now have and flash this one in a custom recovery.

This may not work with TWRP. I had to put all the files that are located in the zip on the phone manually. And in the end i had no luck idk what i might have been doing wrong but you can check the og forum post if what i posted didnt work.

still looking for the whole pack
I actually did try that one already. I also tried changing my build.prop. I personally just gave up spent like4 hrs trying to do it with no success so I'm done I wouldn't have used it much anyways. just wanted to try it out.
uninstall and reboot
want me to extract my apk and email it you??

Works great for me. The wake-up command doesn't do anything unless I'm in the app but you can press and hold the search button and it will prompt to be the default if you want it to. I'm running stock ICS not rooted and its fine.
I snagged the APK from the 'Themes and Apps' section.

Request: CM9 and CM10 for stock kernel

Hi Everyone,
There should be CM9 and CM10 for stock kernel.
Your Regards,
AlpyzDX
UPDATE
No one is allowed to swear on XDA!
Wrong section. REALLY wrong. Reported.
Are you fu*king kidding me?????
STOCK=165mb of ram
CUSTOM: 185/192mb of ram
Buy new android phone with 512mb of ram or more if you can't unlock bootloader and please stop making threads like that!
The difference between the Stock kernel and the CM9 & CM10 kernel is very big. I think it's pratically imposible.
@OP lets make one! lets make team impossible to make cm9/cm10 for our device lol
Someone should make a sticky saying that anything beyond CM7 won't work on stock kernel properly. Perhaps that'll stop them.
