Have you tried the interview process on IRC channel? That's usually a good place to start. You'll need to read up on some general music info to pass. Just search for what.cd interviews on google; there's a website dedicated to that I believe.

I want to devlop rom's and kernel's but problem is i am electronics engineering guy.. so know a not much of programming but i would like to learn.. please tell how can i start.. what i need... i recently learned RED HAT.. and got RHCE certified.. could that be any help...

I have ported ICECOLDSANDWITCH 8.8. and O2 rom using this and elol's Guide but problem is that they are not booting from fresh wipe and works only when install with previous file.handsfree is not working but all other features are somewhat ported.
Atleast try for 10 times befor asking for results.
Always follow that only cm9 with cm9 and aokp with aokp can be ported if any doubt, feel free to ask as I am also anoob and don't understand many things I am doing but will love to learn so that I can have a better understanding of android.
I too have a lot of time in hand and have been trying to port the latest miui roms. Maybe we can turn this post into a guide referral. If you find a useful guide, please post the link here. I would also like to form a device team once I get a proper understanding on how to port roms. Anyone interested.

It's that every single update the game says that u must update it and this is a new port so it takes all ur time

I do not know much about programming, unless it comes to Python. However, i could handle graphics and such.
Plus, i have school, so i may not be of much use. I am also volunteering, and have to do this for NO pay.
