Mate, if you go onto the android dev forum for this handset you can get a full write up on how to root, backup your efs/nv data, and then how to flash a new rom (eg pandoriam, ripper, rxtreme, wanam etc) if you can't find something then search the forum for the answer. It should all be thsre , good luck!!

But can u at least answer this for me is the GT 19305T the same as I9305? If so i already have toolkit but the first thing asks me for my build which could be 11,12,13,14. idk which one cant find the last letters in system info

Yes the "T" in the name is just the Telstra branding, if you follow ausdims rooting thread you will be fine

Thank you

The 'T' in the model number isn't branding. The phone is actually slightly different.
I have a friend who works for Telecom here in NZ and they also sell the I9305T.
He said it is optimised for use on Telecom's network (and obviously Telstra's too) it uses different modems and the antenna is different inside the phone.
They do however use the same ROMs and firmware. Anything intended for the I9305 will also work the same on the I9305T, except modems.

Anyway, Is there a ways not to use CWM recovery and use stock recovery? how can i flash stock recovery and keep root? and if i want to update to 4.1.2, can i do OTA without losing root? Thanking you in advance

Hello everyone!
New to this forum and new to Android phone. I have searched the whole forum and read through the dev-sections. Also did searches on multiple sites and through searchengines to find out what device model to use in the ToolKit...didn't find any confirming answer to my question.
As I have no posts from before, I couldn't write this in the dev-section, so I chose the thread that was closest to what I was looking for.
Question: What is the correct device model to choose in the ToolKit (I have version 7.0.0).
Information from my "about section"...
Phone: Samsung Galaxy SIII 4G
Model: GT-I9305
Android-version: 4.1.1
Build: JRO03C.I9305XXALK5
Operator: Telenor (Norway)
The options I lean towards since the only choice showing 4G, is number 21 (International 4G).
Problem is that it says it's GT-I9305N and not GT-I9305. It also says (Build JRO03C ALIA) and that does not match to my build either.
Then I look at the (International LTE), which says (GT-I9305)...which is ok.
And then number 14, which says (Build JRO03C ALK5), which is the same as mine...but it doesn't say 4G, which I have.
It might sound silly, but I really dont want to make the wrong choice here and end up having a phone that either "does not work at all"
or "does not work as it should". And before anyone says that I then should just leave it alone, my only intention at this point is to let
my anti-virus get root-access, so that the firewall works and the anti-theft works.
Hope anyone can be of help and thanks in advance.

Ok, so I rooted my device yesterday after reading through like 10 more threads...just took a chance, thought to myself "guts and glory" and went for it..went well =) I chose option 14 the build was the same as mine and it worked like a charm.
I am still left with a few quesitons though...might not be relevant to the thread anymore...
Does the rooting share the same build-match requirement as the flashing of a new operatingsystem?
How do I uninstall apps that were preinstalled on an operatorlocked phone?
Anders - Norway

I think you should look for app in app store, Root App delete or something like that. Then search for you operator apps/files and remove.

1. Bootloader is allready unlocked
2.For how to root look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2255190&highlight=how+to+root
3. Flash custom recovery, would advice this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxZf39vI0Lc. Download the .tar.md5 and flash with Odin in PDA.
4. Go to the CM thread and download the latest nightly and Gapps (Google apps) and place on the sdcard.
5. Go in recovery and wipe cache, dalvik cache, format system and data factory reset and then flash the CM rom and Gapps right after another without rebooting, reboot and you`re done.

hi
hello does it matter that it's a different usb cable, its of htc because the one i got with the phone doesnt seem recognise my phone on the pc

Is it better to update (to current) android version?
Or is there ANY practical sense to ROOT at lower level android v. Then apply OS mainframe.. YDVTY

[Q] New Tab owner - quesion about upgrading to GB

Hi Guys,
I bought a Galaxy Tab P1000N and i have Froyo2.2
I would like to update to GingerBread 2.3 at least but with all the manuals out there, i'm affraid i'll brick it.
This is the info i have:
Model number GT-P1000N
Firmware Version 2.2.1
Baseband Version P1000NUBJM2
Build number FROYO.UBJM7
Can you please point me to the right manual? if it is even possible to update it?
I tried installing the latest Kies from the EU site, but it says my version is up to date..
Thanks,
Roi
can i say if you going to update to gingerbread you should use a custom rom based on gingerbread and the OVERCOME ROM is the best so far as for the battery life is amazing and the tab will be much faster ... head to their thread and read about it and step by step will will find everything you need to know ..
Thanks!
Medoo88 - 2 questions:
1. I need to be absolutely sure that with the specs i gave above, my tab will handle this.
2, Since you're in Egypt, this question is even more relevant: Does the Gingerbread ROM have good Arabic/Hebrew support?
Thanks,
Roi
Shalom
I used this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1073854&highlight=tmobile+rom and it worked for me. I used the "with bootloader" methed.
Take your time and FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS...I found CF-root 3.3 at another thread and used it.
Good luck.

Did you do it on a P1000N ?
How complicated is it? (not a complete noob at ROMs, but not familiar with tabs nonetheless..)

It started life as a Tmobile Model SGH-T849. After the GB upgrade, it now shows as a GT-P1000.
I am able to make and receive telephone calls with my tmobile sim. I'm very happy with the update. I have no data plan so don't know anything about that function. Very stable and working great.
I'm very new to all this. I took my time, followed the instructions and it work just like they said it would.
Overcome doesn't have Arabic language or locale, but at least two team members are Arabic or Egyptian, so they made a patch that you apply to the Overcome rom for those languages/locale of that region.
The reason kies says you are up to date is samsung hasn't released any new roms in your country.
Any tab with a sim card can be upgraded to 2.3.3.
Get the guide from Team Overcome, read everything twice. You have a windows 7 pc available?
Remember I told you to remember JM2. You'll understand later.
Rangercaptain -
Many thanks. thats the answer i needed.
Although i need a hebrew support and not Arabic, i still think its worth upgrading to.
I'll do the Overcome team patch, and will remember JM2
Yes i have Win 7 on my PC..
[Edit]
One thing i found out on Overcome website, is this announcement:
"Overcome ROMs/Kernels will NOT work with Latin American Tabs (the P1000L/N Galaxy Tabs)/CDMA-Based Tabs (If your Tab doesn’t have a SIM card, it won’t work…sorry!)/Wi-Fi Only Tabs (P1010 models!)"
Am I in the wrong place?

How did you end up with a South American tab in Israel?
Anyway, there are big differences with your N-model, in drivers (for the tv app, and the digitizer). Read it all, and let me know if you have any questions.

[Q] How do I root my Telstra Galaxy Note GT-N7000B?

G'day all.
I've been searching, and I'm unsure on what to use to root my Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000B (Telstra). It's a slightly different model number, and I just want to know is there a way to root the thing and install CWM without bringing up a triangle and increasing the counter? I already purchased MobileOdin btw.
Model: GT-N7000B
Firmware: GINGERBREAD.DVLC1
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-N7000BDVLC1-CL1006149 [email protected] #2
Baseband: N7000BDVLB2

Nope, no go, it's not directly rootable. Has anyone rooted an N7000B?
Why would you want to root it, that's what your wife or gf is for. jokes aside let me know how you go I just got mine on Tuesday and am yet to root it .
Well I am not sure if anyone has tried an N7000 rom on an N7000B. I didn't want to end up with a shiny new brick, thats why I asked here. I already have done a search and all I got was vague answers. Has anyone successfully flashed/gained root access on an N7000B?

I'm sure it would be fine. I am running ics on my N7000 but shows as I9220 in baseband as it's based on Chinese leak ROM with same hardware.

I would also like to know this. My phone is exactly as above (also from telstra au)
...I dont really care about the yellow triangle or counter though(I can sort that out later when there is more support for this model)
I would like to be sure that the process will not brick the phone, this would suck as its only 2 days old .
best if I know that someone else has done it first
thanks.
The n7000b is just a firmware. you can flash another firmware (and it will not brick your phone). the only down side to this is you won't be able to go on the telstra mobile websites, eg. mobile foxtel,
Anyone brave enough to try to root this one?
I just got my note today and would really like root access....
bump
I'm interested in seeing how this goes as well. The itch to root and flash something better than Telstra's rubbish is growing but I am nervous about the process (it seems vastly different to my old Desire).
I find the stock rom not too bad.. GREAT battery life, the only thing I want root for is to record my calls (use it for work).
I have a call recorder installed on my stock Note that doesn't require root. Got it off the market too.
It's called Call Recorder.....

Anyone done this yet?
I tried the call recorder apps off the Market but none seem to record properly, they just use the speaker.
My note originally from Poland (!) bought via UK back in early November (can't believe I've had my wonderful toy for over six months now!) Given that there were very few Notes back then and next to none in Oz, I was very nervous about rooting and flashing - the challenge you are facing today. I spend many days reading nearly all the threads before biting the bullet and doing my first root!
All I can recommend you do is read Dr Ketan's flashing guide very carefully and make sure you have a backup. I've had a few nervous moments with black screen but always been able to recover by rebooting into recovery and restoring a backup. I'm on Telstra and never had a problem with any firmware I've used (I don't using Telstra Foxtel)
I know that the latest version requires you to flash an older version of ROM before you can root, but once done you can remove all the annoying rubbish and use great programs like Titanium backup to backup and restore the apps you want and freeze the CPU hogs!
I hope that helps you - my experience was different and I felt very alone the first few times I flashed (never having done it before) but the forums have been a godsend in helping.
PS I have never used Mobile Odin - I have found that CWM does all I need it to
So if the WiFi freezes on the N7000B, would it use a different WiFi chip or something? I did hear that the N7000B supports 5GHz and 2.4GHz where the N7000 supports 2.4 only. Not sure if this is true
Hi, I've had the n7000B for awhile now. and flashed most of the firmwares from n7000 model with no problems. been on GB, ICS. all spec about these models are the same. but still haven't found out why this is B on our model.
anyway it is safe to flash n7000 on n7000b!

[Q] Samsung Galaxy 7.7 change the Chinese Version into International Version

Dear Experts,
I am a really Android Newbie and a few day ago I bought here in China the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, P6800 with Chinese firmware.
Great tablet, but very limited access to international websites and apps
With the help of a friend we rooted the tablet with Odin, installed the recovery clock mod and tried to upload a new firmware. Unfortunately something went wrong. We tried everything that is possible in the mod menu (the menu where the tiny Android is in the back). We tried to recover, to update (we even extracted the recovery.img from the .tar file), used the wipe date and wipe... and did a factory reset. Nothing happens and the tablet was unable to restart and even unable to turn off. The Samsung screen freezes.
At least we went to the store where I bought the tablet and received a new one with Chinese firmware.
Now I am / we are back to beginning and would like to know more about how to change the chinese firmware into the European, at least Hong Kong Version.
I try to describe, what we would like to know, but as you know I am not an expert like you are
How to flash a firmware without using Odin from mod menu (menu, where the little Android is in the back)?
We
Where to get a suitable firmware for my tablet, that will help me to have an open version like Europe / Hong Kong?
How to flash back from mod menu to Chinese version - in worst case?
Can anybody help me?
Thanks for your kind support, Jenny

I really dont know the benefit from 10-posts limit but however... I have to post 10 posts before I can ask in Artemis ROM thread this question:
1.) To everyone how flashed with HSPL 3.03.00000, what RAM utilization do you have after opneing all tabs?
2.) To Sternas, Would it be a great idea to remove all the Windows Live and Marketplace apps which doesnt have any functionality since Microsoft gave Wndows Mobile up?
3.) To Sternas: Thank you for this ROM!

Samsung Galaxy s3 4g (GT-I9305T)

hey all, just wondering if the GT-I9305 and the GT-I9305T are the same or not, and whether the GT-I9305 stock firmware is transferable over to the GT-I9305T.

Do you mean the Telstra GSIII LTE?
If yes, then try asking Telstra, though probably they won't give an answer.
I believe they might not be compatible because Telstra has history of modifying models,
both hardware and software, which compromised the phone experience under other carriers.
And assume they are compatible, then why it is named I9305T instead of I9305?
Obviously making one model is easier than making an I9305 and another version with a "T".
So, I guess you probably should not try the firmware for another version of the GSIII LTE until you get a CLEAR answer
Good Luck!

As far as I know they are exactly the same aside from slight software differences. I've got a GT-I9305 bought from Kogan which is a Hong Kong version. In stock form it worked on the Telstra network but the signal strength was not all that great and it use to drop of the network on odd occasion which required a restart in some case to reconnect. I got a bit tired of it so I flashed it with the official Telstra ROM last Friday. So far everything is running great, signal strength is as expected and it did not drop of the network at all since the re-flash.
All I can say now my phone is now a GT-I9305T and it works as it should :good:
awesome, thats great to know.
i was also doing some searching on the internet earlier today and realized that my s3 ( GT-I9305T) was only running the 4.1.1 version of android and that the GT-I9300 was updatable to 4.1.2, i then went on to check for an update which came back unsuccessful saying that i had the latest version of firmware, i understand that they are releasing it model by model but does anyone have any idea on whether the GT-I9305T will get the update? and also any estimate on when?

I got a bit tired of it so I flashed it with the official Telstra ROM last Friday. So far everything is running great, signal strength is as expected and it did not drop of the network at all since the re-flash.
All I can say now my phone is now a GT-I9305T and it works as it should :good:

Have you tried this search?
https://www.google.de/search?hl=de&...0...1.1j2.64.psy-ab..0.2.341....0.hub_oipjIe0
I guess you will find help in one of the search results
First of all download Samsung USB Drivers: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1I3ilHBfl1lSvkqQwHZTEOE6usggQqQGb
Download TWRP for GT-I9305T: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1kmpXSVGdd_XR2WojWqAe8rd_Xm7gZ8Lj (its an old version of twrp but it should work)
After downloading twrp download Odin3: https://drive.google.com/open?id=10CLH6TqF6PLiqnMnjqY5IgsfU5KjX-F-
Extract it od desktop
Now power off your s3 and boot into download mode holding Power Button + Volume Down + Home Button
You will see that screen turned on and press Volume up to continue into Download mode
Connect your s3 into your pc via usb cable. Open Odin3 and you will see on the left side message that says Added!!
Now click od the AP button and select twrp that you downloaded
Go to options tab and make sure that Re-Partition is unticked, Auto-Reboot and F. Reset Time keep ticked
Finally click Start button and the twrp should flash, you will see green text saying PASS!
After flashing twrp the phone should automatically reboot, download SuperSU: https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/supersu/download/zip/SuperSU-v2.82-201705271822.zip
Turn off the phone again and hold Power Button + Volume Up + Home Button and it should boot into twrp, swipe to allow system modifications, and select install and find the supersu.zip file, select it and swipe to confirm flash.
After reboot your s3 should be rooted. You will have SuperSU app in the menu.

Hey guys, I just got a galaxy s3 4g from vodafone and I need some help with rooting since it seems there might be a difference in things i need to flash depending on the model
Mine is GT-I9305T (I see a lot of people saying it's Telstra? but I got this from vodafone.. not sure if that is significant)
So can someone help me with rooting the GT-I9305T

I have the same phone, GT-9305T from Vodaphone & flashed the Galaxyrom ver 4.1.2. Had problems with an earlier Galaxyrom 4.3, Ver 12.1 but Camera app has problem There are fixes available but haven't tried yet. Will try again with later release but for the moment I'm happy with 4.1.2.
Everything works & Aussie Developer so feel more confident that the rom will fit aussie phones.
