i was thinking about using external camera mic like this one

this one used for the digital cameras as you know
anyone tested it yet ?
is it working with the camera to get some HD sound as the videos ?
help please

Anyone help ?

I'm not sure what you're asking here, stock roms already have stereo audio recordings in them (although last time I checked the left and right channels were swapped). Plugging in an external Mic should use the external Mic for recording but it won't be stereo, as far as I know.

i don't think it's the needed quality .. i mean HD sound like the digital cams
i already tried the vid recording with my note 2
i found it's almost same as Galaxy s 2 .. not very good sound quality

external mics should perform better but I don't think you'll be able to record stereo audio with them. Maybe if the external Mic is a stereo one, but I'm not sure.

I guess mic records with stereo not mono sound
Any digital cam do that with the external mic
Anyone have external mic test it for us ?

any help ?

no one having stereo camera mic can test it for us please ?

I can't offer any answers to the original question, but what are you trying to acomplish? To record stereo audio, you need two microphones with some seperation. Even if the external mics have two microphones in one package you are not going to achieve much in the way of stereo sound. You need physical seperation off the microphones in order to record in "stereo". Too close together and you get basically the same signal on both mics which would give you basically the same results as a mono mic.
Good Luck!
Jason

simply , i need HD sound same as the digital cameras
because the sound of the vid record with the mobile is very bad sound while there's a good image
no need to get a digital camera if i got this quality of the sound " in my case "
can i do it with a normal external camera stereo mic like the one i posted the photo above ?

I'm not sure how the phone deals with external mics which aren't part of a headset as I've never used them, but plugging in my headset makes it use the external mic on the headset when recording video/audio.
Also the galaxy camera is fine using external mics, so I'd imagine the note 2 works with them too.

Yes i tried the stock headset that comes with the note 2 and it records
but i found the recorded sound is mono not stereo

maybe a usb mic or mic plus a usb dac would enable this, like other posters said if you want quality you probably want two mono mics

Hmmm .. Anyone having usb mic can test it
If sure it can record stereo tell me i will buy it

headset android compatibility

im looking for a new headset and was reading a lot of reviews on different products and i see that lots of headsets are made to work with the "i" products.
so i wonder if these headsets (mic, volume, other buttons) are supported by android devices/cm7 and what headsets you are using that you could recommend?
i specificly had a sennheiser 680i in mind. anyone has one of those or any other sennheiser products and can tell if all the buttons work?

The audio output is not very goon in this phone. I fixed it by using a bluetooth adapter.
http://cdon.fi/kotielektroniikka/sony_ericsson_mw600_bt-stereoheadset_black-8366635
This device got a good output and you can use any headphones with it.
not sure but i think these bluetooth devices work with cm7. but that would probably be a good solution for fixing the device control.

CM7 does not support A2DP BlueTooth profile required for these devices.
i heard that monster beats may produce some headsrts for android devices soon. its amazing that there are no decent android compatible headsets on the market....

I am looking for a headset that is NOT an in-ear model that works with Optimus 2X (remote functions etc).
Any recommendations?
i have not found any android headsets which is strange. it seems all are mede for i-products... i heard a rumor that sennheiser will produce android headsets in the future but no more details.
i ordered a 680i sport headset from sennheiser which has volume, play, pause forward, backward buttons but since its made for i stuff i dont expect it to work. i will post here again when i recieved them.

I'm using mx680i (they where specified for iThings) for some time now. I've been using it with O2X. As goes for the remote control the only thing that is working are: play/pause, next and previous. Volume control does not work.
As goes for the sound is passable and gets better when using voodoo compatible kernel.
Also since A2DP is working now on CM does any one know good bluetooth headphones?

Now I need to test CM7.
I recommend the device I linked earlier:
http://cdon.fi/kotielektroniikka/sony_ericsson_mw600_bt-stereoheadset_black-8366635
Good battery life and good audio quality. You can use any standard headphones if you don't like the supplied in-ear model.
I have a Motorola S9 headset which I use with CM. Works well, quite loud, all buttons (play/pause, skip forward/back, vol up/down & phone) function.

Sorry. I mean v10d.
so i have my mx680i sennheiser for about a week and im verry happy with it.
it has pretty good sound, lots of base, bit low on meds but with an equalizer it performs really good.
it comes with 4 different sized adapters to fit different ear size and also has different adapters which hook in the top of the ear to give it a solid hold.
after some days of testig different variations, i can listen all day long and barely notice any pressure point or any other unconftabililies (oh does that word even exist?).
as for the çontroller on it, i use winamp player and i can play, pause and skip to next with it.
the microphone works but i have no idea about the quality.
the volume buttons however do not work, but that doesnt really bother me.
i think it was a good joice and i would buy this headsrt again and can also recommend it.
good price/performance.

Today I just tested S10-HD and HX520 (both Motorola), I brought the second one (gift for xmas), they're both "universal" as the box says, all buttons work (media and call), the volume control is for the headset not your device, owned S9 and where ok... kinda... the S10-HD SUCKS HARD.

can anyone recommend a good portable speaker?

Hello everyone, sold my iphone and got a galaxy note 2, but the old portable speaker i have is incompatible. I seem to be having problems looking for another one also. Can anyone give me a suggestion for a good portable speaker for the note 2? thanks.

I'd be interested to know other suggestions as well.
I have narrowed down my search to only devices that support aptX bluetooth codec. Since our phones support it, it seems like a waste to not use it. Unfortunately, the Jambox and Big Jambox do not. I'm sure they still sound good, but I really want to take advantage of aptX.
Currently, my top choice is the soundmatters foxL v2. Runner up: Braven 650
I've got a Bose Soundlink. Great sound and good travel size but not cheap.

Bought that too. Cost me a bit more than what i need but the sounds for music and movie is phenomenal for phone and computer. Connect up to 6 devices

Good Quality sound = money.
I've got the original jambox and recommend it. I've paired and head the soundlink and would say the same - very very crisp good sound.
if you want loud + portable and good sound, the soundfreaq kick is a bargain around 100 bucks
beyond that, the logitech pure-fi (i have two), originally made for idevice docking is a really good sounding bar, rechargable and has aux in; i use it with a paired hs3000 and basically, everything i own is bluetooth.
goodluck! post up if you buy something!

Fantastic sound for the price.

After I did some extended research on internet and in the stores I have decided on Jabra Solemate (link)
GREAT SOUND ( I mean REALLY great and loud), better than monster, bose, etc
4 speakers
battery lasts like 10h
easy up to 4 devices can connect over BT
can connect to computers via USB and mini jack (works with phone as well)
the cover is a unique feature (let's the sound out undistorted, but the water / dust out)
very stable on any surface.
has a mic so you can use it as a conference device
CON
sometimes BT connection with my MacBook Pro is drooping (no clues why). It did not happened with the phone
I have the white version

"I managed to do this kind of thing with an Galaxy S2" really from the headphones jack???
No, its an audio jack in your phone, not an audio visual jack. You will need a MHL cable to RCA
really, you managed to get video out of an audio output...

My old Samsung Wave was also able to output video over the 3,5mm jack, but since micro hdmi and MHL got more popular it is not used in modern phones anymore.
As stated earlier you will need some kind of MHL to AV adapter, something like this:
www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00GQSLOXM/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?qid=1385900011&sr=8-4&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70
By the way I really don't know why people start being cynical when someone asks a reasonable question.
Well, I agree, maybe I was a bit harsh, but still, its an audio output jack.....

[request] Bluetooth Wireless with Noise Cancellation

Hi
I am planning on buying Bluetooth Stereo Ear Phones for my mobile.
I checked many sites but couldnt find products to my needs
My main considerations are :
1. Low cost ( $100)
2. In-Ear (ear Plugs)
3. Noise Cancellation
4. MultiPoint connect ( connect 2 devices at a time)
Does any one know any product with these 4 features ?
I thought of 'PLANTRONICS BBTGO2-BLK W BACKBEAT GO 2' or 'SONY MW600' or 'SONY MW1'
But none of them have Noise Cancellation.
I already have
Plantronics Backbeat 903+ , but i didnt like the confort, the noise cancellation is good.
So i am searching for IN-EAR plugs.
Kindly let me know.

i am using sony mw600 with my note 2, the best part of it its noise cancellation. While ridding my bike i use it and clip it to shirt's collar. believe me while talking to some one while speeding even at 60kmpr, it delivers great quality of sound at the other end......so if u want to buy a bluetooth headset with good noise cancellation, i highly recommend mw600...

nice, but it would be good if the video shows how is the sound before and after applying the mod.
and, as we are going to use the ear piece to play sounds, does it have any other effects as ear piece isn't designed to play sounds at higher volumes etc..,
It's actually one of the top mods in the Nexus 5 Themes & Apps forum.

They got it from XDA in the first place. Check out the OP to see who's mod it is and where it comes from.
There's also some newer versions in that thread that reduce distortion as well as enable true stereo (separate left & right channel audio).

I wonder if it's actually wise to crank up the volume on the earpiece. Nice thought, but I need my earpiece to work for phone calls. I can always use headphones or bluetooth speaker for music. (which will sound much better)

and, as we are going to use the ear piece to play sounds, does it have any other effects as ear piece isn't designed to play sounds at higher volumes etc..,

this is a foolproof mod i would say... when headset is connected, phone does what it is meant to do.! only when main speaker works, earpiece also work...
and during incall if you put loud speaker, sound doesn't get mixed! so all works perfectly and does what its meant to do!
like you said, earpiece isnt meant to handle such volumes, which is why during notification arrival, if the volume is set to high, you can hear a creaking sound... but this can be avoided if sound is kept below 60-70%...

It's actually one of the top mods in the Nexus 5 Themes & Apps forum.
They got it from XDA in the first place. Check out the OP to see who's mod it is and where it comes from.
There's also some newer versions in that thread that reduce distortion as well as enable true stereo (separate left & right channel audio).

thanks for pointing out to the original post.! couldnt find this one!
It is the most interesting mod i have ever seen on android .
since i got my nexus i didn't like the sound quality at all , But making the earpiece to act as a speaker is a nice idea .
Now there is some balance in the sound direction .
Thank you for sharing :good:
Same reason why I also went for this mod!

This is NOT a true stereo sound, only 2x mono - but still better than single mono.
Thanks for the zip file brother
Awesome mod.
Runs great on stock 6.0.1
