[Q] What is the best LCD Density

I am wondering what value everyone is using for their LCD Density?
I am using ROM Toolbox Lite to change it, currently on a value of 210 (on DMORE 3.3 ROM), which seems a good compromise.
EDIT: Please add which ROM you are using when you suggest your density
Hi, I'm on Slim ics v4.0 and as standard Dpi is set to 182 and I find it really clear and defined. Any lower and icons are not spaced out right on the home screen. (Trebuchet). Got rid of lightning launcher

Hey guys,
I was on 182 and I loved it.
Just upgraded to X-Bean and now I've lost the higher resolution.
Do you know the best way to get it back?
I had SlimICS before which had a settings menu with the option.
Thanks
I'm using 182 in Slim Bean. Kind of weird at first (started with 182 in SlimICS), but got used now and can't go back!

OP suggests ROM Toolbox allows you to change it, you should try that.

Using 210 DPI, since I flashed Elite's rom.
I use now 200 dpi but also 182 looks good.
Tiramisu (based on SlimICS).
question: how to calculate the resolution for 200 dpi and 182 ... at 240 it is 800x480. (need to modify the IGO8 setting) thanx

I used the build.prop editor available in the play store to change the density to 182. You then need to reboot to apply the changes. You also need to get a multi dpi play store installed as you will get incompatibility errors otherwise.

I used this for the store and it seems to work perfectly ... just flash from cwm ... and follow the directions

For Galaxy S is 240
For Galaxy S is 240
if Galaxy Nexus is 320 but if you try this it will make font and other bigger than expectation.
if use 160 is for tablet mode that make you gain more space but it will make your eye sight shor

Tablet mode - stock LRT

Has anyone seen a tablet mode mod for LRT? (Is, status bar at bottom)...without changing DPI...
Please don't respond with "use cm, aosp, aokp, etc...", I know... not what I am looking for.
Thanks for any useful responses, in advance.

Unfortunately you have already ruled out the only ways to do what you want to do!
Traditionally, the way to change to tablet mode is to change the LCD density to 213 (which you say you don't want to do)
Nowadays the only other way to do this is to use a Paranoid Android ROM that can change to tablet mode without DPI changes (which you have also stated you don't want to do).
Sorry dude, you're out of luck I'm afraid.
Slim Bean also has forced tablet mode feature.

Yep used PA for months... appreciate the response but not what I'm looking for...
I suppose what I am looking for would be a modified systemui from stock ui from the note 10.1... doubt it exists, was just asking...

[Q] Change LCD Density

The SGS3 comes with a standard LCD density of 340. Now will probably be fine when I'm 85, but right now I'd like to get it lower, like somewhere between 200 and 240 Is it possible to change the LCD density on the SGS3 i9305?
I've tried LCD Resolution and it did nothing. I don't want to try LCD Density Modder because the reviews relating to SGS3 are terrible, most users had to re-flash their roms due to bootloops.
Are there other XDA/Google Play apps anyone can recommend or can this perhaps be done by editing a specific system file?
"Texdroider_dpi" from Play Store works fine and it's free

Thanks - what DPI values have you tested/used? And what did you find most suitable for daily use?
I only use stock dpi but from memory rom toolbox has an option to change dpi and you can also edit your build.prop and change the ro.sf.lcd_density=320 to another value like 240.
From memory I think 240 or 260 was a commonly used dpi but also not all system apps and mods support the multi dpi, stock dialer was one of them can't remember any others.
Good thing to have a nandroid backup when playing with the dpi incase of bootloops

It's safe, I've been messing with it on SGS2 and now. Very easy to use, no boot loops for me at all.
Now I'm using stock 340 but tried 220 & 240 and all works fine. 220 is tiny tho
Stock dialer is NOT full screen, can be annoying....

240 LCD Keyboard Mod
Texdroider DPI confirmed working at 240 on SGS3 LTE
Galaxy Note 2 Keyboard 240 Mod confirmed working on SGS3 LTE so keyboard displays at correct density and fits the screen properly. Check the [MOD]240 DPI apps for samsung roms 4.1.1 & 4.1.2 [Update 27/11/12] thread for info and the SamsungIME apk

Note2 camera mod working also at 240 DPI on SGS3 LTE.. so the only mod I can't get working yet is the dialer at 240.. currently the 240 mod FCs but there's an update coming this weekend so hopefully it will sort the dialer.. then it's all good, 240 DPI with no compromises

No, the TWiz launcher requires the Samsung framework. you cannot just install the app.
However you might check with the developer on this tread to see if his port of Twiz will work on the Nook.,

MIUI hdpi themes?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this, I'm on my phone and have no way to see rules or anything like that. Anyway, I would like to use miui on my Galaxy S3, however MIUI is 320 DPI by default (ridiculous) and changing the LCD density totally breaks the UI. In order to be able to enjoy using my phone I need to have at least 240 DPI. Are there any themes compatible with the decreased DPI?
