[CWM/TWRP] Ubuntu Touch - Developer Preview - Flashable Zip - Ubuntu Touch Ports to Android

Hi, since no one has linked to this, I thought I should make a topic to make it more visible.
Check the link below to find Flashable zips of Ubuntu touch dev preview on your specific Nexus device.

I'm guessing this still wipes the sd card as well

The zips for the Toro version don't wipe the sd card, so I'll assume these won't.

Do you not require the Ubuntu boot IMG for this?

Thank you for the link.
I was able to install Ubuntu with CWM.
Installation works great, no issue.

Doesn't work with my Nexus 4 8GB. Keeps @ the bootingscreen, even after 20 Minutes.
Followed the complete instructions.

You should factory reset. You need to wipe data. System will already be wiped in the flash.
Also, there are 2 zips to install. You gotta do the mako one and then the generic one.

I've had trouble installing a few apps, what I've done is you go tot settings and unmount your SD card then install the app, this typically works for me.

[ROM] CM10 Nightly Available now

FYI, its here, and stable!
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=quincytmo&type=nightly
When I say stable, I mean no reboots or lockups in the past 24 hours. No problems with the menu in Titanium Backup either.
Edit: got my first lockup (lightblue screen), shucks!
In order to flash this, you must be using the twrp recovery, not clockworkmod. I also format my partitions first using the Darkside Super Wipe Ext4. I'll attach both.
Don't forget to get the Jellybean gapps from http://goo.im/gapps for CyanogenMod 10.0.x
does the external sd card work?
Thanks for the heads up rotohammer +1 on the external sd working? I can live with reboots but not with the ex. Sd not mph.tiff right

Yes, its mounted at /external_sd and /mnt/external_sd/
Also I heard that flash does not work with JB.... is that true because I use my phone to stream live sports from flash websites and not sure if I could live without watching live football or UFC on my phone... Thanks for the heads up!
What does dark wipe super wipe ext 4 do. Are u suppose to.clear everything then flash super wipe, then flash cm 10, and then flash jb gaps?

The super wipe clears everything and formats the partitions as ext4. Im not sure if its really needed, but CM10 hung on its spinning boot logo until I used the super wipe and reflashed.

It never has on my devices. But backup just in case, I'd hate to see you loose anything on my account.
Superwipe didn't erase my SD card fwiw.
Flashed the ROM and so far so good, have not messed with trying flash player yet I'll report my results when I do get around to testing...
One thing I did notice is that my data seems quite a bit slower than previous ICS ROMs....any ideas?

After a day or two, let us know if you had any lockups. I had to go back to ICS for the moment as I was missing important calls when it was locked up and I didn't notice.
I really prefer it over ICS.
I myself haven't had any lockups as of the 9/30 nightly

Phone stuck at splash screen please help!

I've followed the instructions below for installing jelly bean and my phone will do everyhing but once I flash the jelly bean ROM (and I've tried 3 different ones) they all get stuck at the boot screen. The phone is unlocked, rooted, has ext4recovery, blackrose, sd partitioned . Current ROM is cm 10 and its sitting at the cm screen. It will go into fastboot. Everything was done according to the instructions. What is missing. Please help me. Been working on it for hours.
Thank you

Is your partition layout 268/168/0? Can't really read it on that small picture. If it is, then there's your problem. Or do you have an ext-partition for A2SD on your µSD-card for userdata?
Unfortunately, no it is an 8. Darn. I also do not have that other thing you asked installed on the card.
I just can't quite understand why it appears that everything is set up right but just gets stuck at that boot screen.
Please if you can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

So it's 268/160/8 ? Then there's still your problem. It should be 268/8/160 [system/cache/userdata].
Thank you soooo much!! I have a question. How do I change it ? I wonder how come it isn't right.. But, most importantly I am grateful for you helping me.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
You can change it by using blackrose.exe or by flashing one of these partition layouts in your recovery.
I believe they are not all on the front page, so search inside that topic too if you can't find your preferred partition layout.

Resize BlackRose (system : 260, cache: 8 , the rest will automatically be set to userdata).
And install 4EXT recovery on your phone and re-partition your SD card. That is what tommert38 has mentioned over there. You need atleast 1 GB of space in order to install apps onto your SD card.
recovery flashable zip of 260/8/168

Dual boot

Can someone please link me to the dual boot, also do I need to wipe for it to work and what is the process on the dual boot?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
What you are looking for is MultiROM.
You will not need to wipe anything.
Once installed whenever you reboot your tablet it will boot to a menu where you choose which of your installed ROMs it boots to.

Not dual boot, but multi ROM. I'm pretty sure the only restriction on the amount of ROMs is your storage size.
Yes, you can run Ubuntu Linux.

[Q] Nook HD - Can't get out of CWM recovery

My Nook HD will only boot to CWM recovery.
A bit of history...
Was happily running CWM 10.2 but decided to upgrade to CWM 11. I couldn't get this to work (status 7 installation aborted). I reinstalled 10.2 and this worked fine. I then stupidly followed some instructions for installing CWM 11 when I was tired and didn't spot they were for the Galaxy Tab 2 and since then my Nook HD just boots into CWM recovery.
I'm pretty sure I have killed my device (I gave up trying to fix it a couple of months ago) but before I throw it in the bin I thought someone on here may have some bright ideas for rescuing it.
Thanks in advance for any advice
Try going to my HD/HD+ CWM thread and flash a plain stock zip from item 6.
What thread and advice did you follow?

I tried flashing a plain stock zip from item 6, it didn't change anything.
Thread was on the cyanogenmod forum. I don't appear to be able to post a link so this is the bit I stupidly followed...
Hello!
The "error 7" message was in my case coused by an old version of CWM.
There is already a topic about it under Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 p5110.
This is what you could try to do:
- download the newest version of CWM at this link : **link deleted as forum won't let me post links but it was CWM for a Galaxy Tab2 10.1**
- install this package and reboot
- note : this is not the touch version of CWM so you have to use the power and volume buttons to use this type of CWM
- download the newest CM 11 and put it on your EXTERNAL SD CARD
- download if you use it the newest GAPPS for KK to your EXTERNAL SD CARD
- go into recovery mode
- wipe cache
- wipe dalvik cache
- install CM 11
- install the GAPPS if you use it
- reboot
This solved my "error 7" problem and also for some others with this error.
Thanks for looking.
So what did you do? Install the CWM from that thread?

Then you may have bricked it. Did it say it installed correctly?
The problem is the Galaxy Tab 2 uses a different partition for recovery than the Nook HD. Whoever made that zip must have failed to put a safety assert statement in it to prevent users from trying to flash it to the wrong device.
I will try to find the thread to see if the zip was bad and where it tried to install it on your nook. Do you have any more clues for me to the link?

Ok, found the file you flashed and looked at it. It put the recovery image where your bootdata partition is supposed to be and wiped out bootdata. I made a bootdata repair zip and sent you a PM with the link. Try flashing that with your CWM. It may recover your bricked device. Let me know.
