Hi,
And why is it fun?
Just root> unlock bootloader> flashthe kernel kernel (nAa/Oxydo-JB) if you want to Jelly Blur (CM10) rom what it takes to unlock the kernel
In this way, what you gave it a quick and convenient, and look closely and you can unlock the bootloader here on the forum you will find step-by-step instructions
Also good luck and best regards

Use x8toolbox

I dont understand it right. Iam now back on stock because i bricked the phone.
What i did is root stock, after that i unlocked bootloader, then i installed cwm and then i want to install kernel for jellyblur but everytime i do that my phone bricks. How exactly i have to flash the kernel? After flashing kernel i format system and data like in instruction. I rebooted then phone without flashing jellyblur i think this is the problem. I have to fladh kernel then go in cwm formatting system and data and without exiting flashing jellyblur is this right?

Here is what you have to do.
If you still have your MiniCM6 backup, restore it using a recovery. Full wipe, wipe cache and dalvik cache then power off your phone. Then, use Flashtool to flash back stock kernel.
If you do not have the backup, download MiniCM6, boot into recovery, full wipe, wipe cache nd dalvik cache, then flash MiniCM6. Power off and use Flashtool to flash stock kernel.
Done (hopefully)

I'm sorry for that, I don't know and don't understand about flash tool or flash kernel..I'm really don't understand, I try to find answer and still don't know...could you explain me? Why do we do??
Sent from my E15i using XDA
First tell me which rom do you want to flash ?
We do the flashtool stuff if we want to install a kernel or sometimes rom.. But you can install rom through recovery also.
Look we use flashtool to:
1-flash new kernels
2-install recovery on stock kernel.
3-rooting the phone
4- unlocking the bootloader (last version)
5-installing apps.
6-creating bundles if we want to restore Eclair
----------//-------
To flash a new ROM:
if your bootloader is unlocked u flash a new kernel and then using recovery u flash the Zip file which is the ROM.
If u cannot unlock your bootloader then u cannot change your kernel and must use ROMS which support stock kernel.

Sent from my XPERIA using XDA Premium.
Well he can use xrecovery if unlocking bootloader is not possible (?)
Did I tell anything wrong?
Yes he should use Xrecovery to flash new ROMs.
But he can't change the kernel or the phone will be bricked (softly)

Oh yes..Lets see if he can unlock his BL or not
You didn't say anything wrong
If u don't know about flashtool this means that you are in stock kernel....
Two ways
First if you had made a backup with cwm you can restore it with cwm, that will replace the current rom with the one you had backed up
second,if you haven't made backup then install your old rom just as you installed it first time, put it in SD,go to cwm or xrecovery ,full wipe, wipe dalvik, install zip from SD....

I mean if he can unlock his bootloader he can flash kernels.
And I say maybe the reason his bootloader is unlocked is that he never tried to unlock it since he is a noooooob.

[Q] Cant install any custom rom! :(

Dear friends,
I always stuck at SE logo whenever I try to install custom rom. Here is what I do:
1. Root My stock 2.1 with Flashtool

3. Copy xrecovery's 3 files to system/bin
4. Restart in xrecovery and Choose Install custom zip
5. After installation, I reboot and stuck!!!
I have tried "MiniCM7-2.2.1-shakira" and "GingerDX-v029-shakira.zip"
Any Help?? I dont want to unlock my bootloader.

No just find the baseband file and flash it on flashtool

i recommend to you to start from scratch, 2.1, root, flash baseband, install busybox, install CWM recovery, the full wipe and flash rom, you can flash the baseband with flashtool, and i think there is no risk, i have done it several times, the baseband xxxx15 is required to flash custom roms.

[Q] Custom kernel

My friend have the p970, and he talk me to install a custom rom for he, but any rom need custom kernel. In my xperia x8, to install a custom kernel, need a uncloked bootloader and a flash process in pc. But i see a video showing a instalation of cm10 on p970, without flashing a new kernel with other program, but the kernel change just with a zip instalation.
How can i install cm10 for p970 without unklocking bootloader? Im cofused.
Sent from my X8 using xda premium
Installing a rom on P970 its a pretty simple.
You just need root and recovery... to install a rom just do a full wipe and then install the .zip, search on general section about how to make root.
Just this? Isnt necessary to unclock bootloader to flash cm10 and flash a kernel with a program?
Sorry for noob question and bad english

[Q] Couple of boot loader unlocking doubts...

Helloo Everybody..
I will be really grateful if someone found a solution to my problem...
I know that this is not a support site, but a developers world, but after searching and googling, i couldnt help my self.
Mods can close and delete this thread if they want.
My question is that if I flash a Gingerbread kernel(nAa or Alfs) on ECLAIR 2.1...wont it create problems..such as force closing or rebooting sort of problems??
Secondly I read SpydeX thread of unlocking bootloader..i got all the tools ready, but the thread doesnt mentions anything about entering into recovery via kernel on ECLAIR 2.1... the guide just tells that after flashing entr into recovery and flash the rom.
I tried this trick on my friends X8, but no success..
Thanxx in advance
If you flash a custom kernel at the eclair while you have locked bootloader, you will have bootloop(it wont boot, but you can easily fix it),if you have unlocked your bootloader it will be fine
As for your second question, you unlock your bootloader, you flash the kernel(which contain cwm),you enter recovery(cwm),and you flash the rom.

No he's got it wrong.
1. You can't flash custom kernels on a locked rom flashtool won't allow it.
2. Flashing a custom kernel on stock 2.1 will cause it to bootloop, what you'd normally do is enter recovery and flash a rom that works with the kernel.

[Q] Soft bricked X8

Hi guys. Today I tried upgrading GingerDX from v030 to v031b but I mistakenly downloaded (and flashed) Alfs/nAa instead of Stock kernel.
Now the phone screen won't pass the Sony Ericsson boot scree... I can't find the key combinations to enter into CWM recovery menu. Is there any other way I can flash the proper ROM using Flashtool? I found this guide but I don't want to go back to the stock kernel (if possible).
Thank you!
You mean to. Say stock rom??
You are already on stock kernel...
& no other option you must follow that guide if you can't unlock bootloader!

if you use rom for stock kernel you can see the GDX logo...that is part of boot animation. alfs shows WLAN version not GDX. the Sony Ericsson logo is of stock kernel. so if you flash a rom for custom kernel you will still see that logo
it is possible (as dagger said) that OP downloaded rom for custom kernel.
