Battery, RAM & Performance Tweaking Guide
**BATTERY CALIBRATION**
Charge your Battery to a 100%:
-> WIPE BATTERY STATS
-> REMOVE Charger
-> Use for complete cycle (to nearly 10%)
-> Do not reboot anywhere in between
-> CHARGE to 100% (and give additional 1 hour after that)
-> Enjoy COMPLETE BATTERY CYCLE
This ensures that when your battery shows 5% remaining, it actually is 5% instead of really being 15%. That's why battery calibration is important. It doesn't improve battery life, but gives you your COMPLETE Battery life.
MORE:
- Go to SETTINGS>DEVELOPER OPTIONS
- Force 2D GPU rendering
**RAM Cleaning**
- Do not use task killers
- Freeze/Move to Quarantine those APPS which you DO NOT USE regularly and you don't want them TO RUN IN THE BACKGROUND
APP QUARANTINE on Play Store
Go ahead, try it. Move all unwanted apps to quarantine now!
**DEEP SLEEP BATTERY SAVER**
Your phone sips the least amount of power when it is in DEEP SLEEP STATE. There is a new app in the marketplace which can FORCE DEEP SLEEP STATE on your phone. This is especially useful if you want the phone to conserve battery for hours and then wake up for a minute and sync all new alerts in one go. This can help prolong your usage on a single charge.

Well, Stand By Mode disables apps right? DS Battery Saver simply forces Deep Sleep

Part 1 uploaded. Part 2 will be done in a few hours.
Total Download Size = 495 MB only.

Don't make people happy when you're still uploading. Start the freakin topic when you're actually done, and people can actually test something in case of only read whats coming.
Hate it when people go like create topic like crazy! and then find info about the rom and its like:
"hey man! New rom! Its lite and fast! still 4 weeks to upload though! Stay tuned" Blegh!
Anyway thanks.

If you don't want the ROM, go away. Not making you stay here. The link will be up within 2 hours. That's all.
It takes time. Working with slow internet and huge amounts of data here.

SGS Config for Excellent Battery Life Return (For Reference)

Here is my current SGS config = Excellent Return on Battery Life
Current ROM - Doc & Kal ver 7.6.2, no lagfix installed - All tweaks enabled via CWM Might Disable-Phone is more responsive and faster but of course to much speed increases battery usage... 50/50 about tweaks imo...
AutoKiller - Settings set to optimal (i personally think strict kills heavily and programs restart to often which in turn uses battery life)
Rooted
Sync - Off
GPS - Off
Auto Rotation - Off & Off in Zeam
Brightness mainly off and minimum in Browser
Using both H/3G and 2G network
Launcher - Zeam
Homescreens - 2
Wallpaper - Dark coloured
Screen 1 - Battstatt (4x1), SiMi Clock (4x1)
Screen 2 - Power Control Plus - 2 options (brightness - Auto and off) & Screen Timeout setting -15 sec & 10 min)
6 icons (win7 type) Used Desktop Visualiser App, Beautiful Weather Widget (Updates Interval Manual)
Themed - Elegant Steel (Whole Rom)
Installed Zeam and ADW as a back up.
Windows Animation - Full
Cache Cleaner Installed
Adfree Android Installed
Xda Installed
GTasks Installed
Sms Backup & Restore installed
Titanium Back Free installed
Asop Stock Lock with extended controls Installed
Couple of other non-essential apps
Thinking about removing(No use for these):
Google Talk
The look of the phone might seem bland, but i prefer simple, clean and polished.
And yes my phone is smooth...But the main thing is the impressive Battery Life returned in use and idle.
Annoying question:
What do you consider excellent and what do you compare it to?
Install juiceplotter and give us some times. I get about 8 hours out of charge or 3hrs if on 3g

Well, not really a comparison but an example of what battery life I can achieve with my set up, of course its not to everyone taste but if you look closely you will see that I don't have any active battery services running constantly.
As it stands now I have achieved a 3% drain in 8 hours overnight idle time with my set up, that extra boost was achieved by removal of beautiful widgets and quite possibly the alteration of my status/notification bar which is no longer a shaded grey but now transparent (gonna add a screen shot today)
But my set up goes to show that you can have excellent battery life, but you have to balance the phone etc. more is less and less is more.
And I think its fair to say that even in daily usage you should by able to get good usage in my set up, because I will have nothing running except for what I am doing, rather then having a double drain.

Thats very bad.
I'm running Froyo 2.2 Scandinavian Update through Kies, Voodoo Lagfix. With the Exchange email bug active (constant 10% cpu load in background), 3g and Bluetooth on and moderate use, i drain from 100% to 20% in 11 hours.
With the Exchange email bug disabled (setting retrieval of email to Never), but with 3G and Bluetooth on, i drain from 100% to 50% in 11 hours with moderate use.
I recommend you to install SystemPanel app and let it monitor CPU usage for a day. The Top apps consuming cpu will become clear. My Galaxy CPU usage with the phoe asleep idles between 1-3%.
i'm on 2 days and 10 hrs since last unplugged and have 8% battery left... using superpower xda... scheduled data on every hour for 5 mins. night time sleep airplane mode. using jp6, rooted, oclf v2 (optimum and deadline).

yes superpower app is really useful for those who want to extend batt life.
ever since i installed it i've been easily having battery life for over 2d (it usually goes down to about 10% after 2d 12hrs)
only downside is that it takes a slight delay in switching between 2G and 3G (bad if you're in a rush) and when at night you can turn on sleep but won't get calls (bad if there is an emergency)
i have a question though, how do you get rid of thinkfree? i tried going into applications and then clicking on 'all' but everything is greyed out and i can't click uninstall.
any suggestions?

I guess power saver has its pro and con like every other app.
To remove think free, I downloaded titanium free.
Launch it, then at the top click on back up and restore, then scroll down to think free. Click on it, then clear data, then click uninstall.
Job done
If you wish to use it in the future, download it from the market.

Tks for the tips...
May I add one?
At night, when going to bed, just turn cell radio off or put device on flight mode (unless you are expecting a night call)..
You will get even more juice

O yeh, Also install Startup Manager and disable all them useless samsung startup processes like SNS , email (if you don't use built in email and use 3rd party like K-9) and remote wipes. What I noticed is that If i disabled something major at next boot the system re-enables the service so Its kind of safe (My experience anyways)
Thanks for the tips and contributions..... Beneficial to all.

i think removing google talk is not a very good idea.
from what i gather google talk is the main-"google-account-login" that keeps your phone connected to the market. e.g. google talk not logged in = no market.

This is an unoffical build of CyanogenMod 10.2 for the Samsung GalaxyTab 7.7.
It is in the very early experimental state. Please take a good look before flashing.
I don't have much time for ROMs now. Anyone interested to help will be very welcome.
2013/10/28
It is getting harder and harder to keep up with the new Android platform for our beloved 7.7. After a lot of digging and stuggling, I finally get the rom boot. Some functions are not working yet. However, it is a good experience for the new 4.3 on our tab. Cheers! :highfive:
Change log: :victory:
Code:
[COLOR="Blue"]28/10/2013[/COLOR]
  - First experimental release.
  - CM10.2 20131025 nightly build source
  - Latest Android 4.3.1r1 (JLS36I)
  - rewritten the device trees for 4.3 and selinux
  - New blobs from other devices
  - Opensource ril library to make phone work
  - SELinux support in kernel
  - Fixes in audio
  - Fixes in sensors
  - New gps settings and data
Know issues:
1. Inherent from CM10.1.
  - Wifi-tethering, hdmi, etc.
2. Camera not working
  - Blobs from Samsung no longer working here. Working on opensource solutions now.
3. Acelerometer (aceleration sensor) not working
  - AKM lib not working.
  - Compass will be affected, ~ 90 degrees off.
  - Some apps (eg. Smart Compass) may turn the acelerometer off and Compass will point to the right direction again.
3. Bluetooh not working
  - Need to see if the mojo in cm10.1 works here. (Lots of works...)
4. The default orientation of lockscreen is lanscape.
  - not respond to rotation lock. Workaround: set only one angle in settings and enable rotation.
5. Please report.

Thanks OP!
Amazing job, thanks!
Only thing is bothering me is really high battery usage in Standby mode:
- I've fully charged my 6800
- turned off Wi-Fi, data and even turned on Fly Mode
- haven't used it almost at all (just checked some times remaining battery %, settings and battery stats)
- after 7h7m of standby time it shows that only 17% of charge left
Battery stats shows only 2 battery consumers:
- multimedia (96%)
- screen (4%)
What's wrong? Your PA could last for days with such usage...

There is an new option in 4.3:
Settings > wifi > Advance menu >Scanning always available
This option is enabled by defaults. It will consume more power can be scanned even when wifi is OFF. Turn if off may save power.
Good luck!

Thanks I'll use it with my S4 4.3 firmware, but I really doubt that Wi-Fi could count as multimedia... and this option already turned off by default in your great new p6800 firmware

I had the "Unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped"....Reflash everything,, reboot, factory reset. Nothing works. I had to restore.
Anyone with that problem?
note: I used "pa_gapps-full-4.3-20131024-signed.zip" Should I have used the other gapps?
sorry, should have been posted in other form on p6210
I just can say that on my device 6810 everything is great. Better than ever.
Concerning battery drain: I get very very impressive deep sleep times (wish I had it on my phone i9100 also). Not 1% battery drain over night if I go to airplane mode and kill all apps.
So I would recommend to get you "betterbatterystats" (BBS) and also cool "wakelock detector". To see what is keeping your device awake and drain your battery. - CPU spy is also very good to quickly check the used cpu frequencies. ... all these apps are somehow MUST have on any android if you play around with custom roms.
I'm pretty sure that some of your apps is doing weird things. If you find any annoying app with BBS, then try to clear all data of that app, if you think it could misbehave. Additionally you could deactivate autostart of the app and/or use a "greenify" to get hard controllable apps under control.
You could also make screenshots from BBS and wakelockdetector and post here if you have troubles to find YOUR battery draining app.
Additionally: For wifi on battery time: change the wifi scan time to higher values (google build.prop). The Default wifi scan interval of 15 for all CM is much to frequent. Intervals of 180 240 or 360 are enough and save much energy with wifi on.
best regards and good luck
i do not try it yet, still satisfied with official 4.1.2, but i am happy my big phone still has development by lovers, thx danial for your work again.
Battery Doctor wasn't running in my tab for the first day of 4.3 (I forgot to open it after wipe and installing new firmware...) and now it's all ok - this app kills all other apps I don't need (except white list of apps) and battery drain is gone!
Thanks for great new firmware!
Looking forward for your new builds.

Good ROM with Root tools. Quite smooth and good battery cost. But sometimes wifi disconnect. All good but wallpapers is too ugly....

This is actually a very good build, so props to you OP!
A few things though. The device isn't deep sleeping at all. This causes a roughly 1-2% per hour discharge. Not a huge deal, but definitely should be fixed. Also, GPU and CPU performance leaves a lot to be desired. The system becomes quite unresponsive with simple tasks.

Do you use Greenify? If not there is no wonder "the device isn't deep sleeping at all" as well as "GPU and CPU performance leaves a lot to be desired". Don't forget it's a budget device with dual core processor, don't overload it, especially with live wallpapers.

Can you try changing ro.ril.disable.power.collapse in your build.prop to equal 0 and see if deep sleep is affected after a reboot? You can do this easily from kernel aduitor in system settings.
I tried this rom, but return to cm 11, the deep sleep issue is a big problem: From morning to night more than 30% of the battery drain, with cm 11 the kindle remains 98% more than a week without use.

@alexander_32, not sure if you're copping a condescending tune with me or not, but Greenify is only good for controlling what the system cannot as far as wakelocks. Running the OS barebones, it wasn't sleeping, and there were/are no apps keeping it awake. I know you have to assume that us "testing" the ROM don't know what there doing, but trust me, I've been at it long enough to know what I'm doing. But just so we're clear, I've frozen all of the apps from waking up the device, and after multiple reboots, it still won't sleep. And also, I understand this is a dual-core device, I know it has performance limits. But I've ran dual core devices that exhibited a lot less stutter running CM. All I was saying is what I've experienced, as to potentially offer assistance with making the ROM run more efficiently. And also, I personally think Live Wallpapers are garbage, and for the sake of device performance, would've already disabled them in an effort to improve device performance.
@r3t3ch thank you for your contribution to a potential resolution for one of the issues listed. I'll report back to provide an update if that fixes it. My screenshot shows its vbus USB, and honestly, nor sure if that's some sort of USB detection system or what.

My personal experience: after deleting useless system apks (before flashing) in system/app and priv-app folders, greenifing almost everything except Smart Launcher, Twilight and system apps like CyanogenMod Syetem, CM Settings Storage etc, disabling boot at start for each app except Smart Launcher, Twilight, Youtube (doesn't work without it), Cleaning junk, cache, art/dalvik cache, it changes from 100% to 99% in 6-7 hours and no complaints about that.

I found the source of the deep sleep issue. It'll be fixed in the next build in about a day or so.
Edit: flash this boot.img from twrp (Install > Install Image > select boot) for a quick deep sleep fix
Works perfectly!

Boot is the same; maybe the one posted earlier doesn't have holding volume down to go into fastboot, not sure. For the rom itself, I think the only big change upstream from cm13 was hexolibre.

there seems to be an issue with the wifi, i have 5ghz wifi set to channel 149 and for some reason the tablet wont find any network with the channel higher than 48, any idea how to solve this? for me using a channel lower than 149 is not an option.

No .. It will not have any impact during active usage. During the inactive phase we will save battery by pushing few optimization.

That's awesome
is it safe to use it together with greenify app?
(I think greenify works both when the screen active too -which can be a supplement to the OP strategy- (but) also when the screen is off, which worries me if they two (the OP strategy and the Greenify) could be crashing each other, no?)

It might conflict with Naptime which might give more battery drain IMHO.
You can try it yourself but I would recommend against it.
I'm using Greenify with Aggressive Doze ON
So do i need to install Naptime ?

Why is it not turn on in your recommendation?
is it ok if I turn it on?

With the given settings .. your device will go to doze even if it is charging.
The toggel is Disable aggressive Doze when charging so we keep it OFF to have doze while charging.
You can choose to turn it on or off no issue. With it being OFF we will have more deep sleep.

Already use this guide for few days.
Thank You very much.
But -although perhaps can't be concluded yet if it's caused by the way things in this OP guide unless I do the detail comparison/test - I still feel the 327 Update version is better in battery duration than 337 even if I do the OP Guide as additional mod.
And now I also experienced some crash (my phone automatically restart by itself) few times.
I think I'd downgrade to 327.
Anyway thank you, especially for @AVinaSh_S for the great Posts.

Just did it correctly yesterday, for one day usage i could tell that this seems to be most fluid rom for me despite a lot of customisations, fingerprint for me works well if light is cyan... Works just like it did on miui mutch-less .... Only parts of the system i could wish to be better are battery and charging optimisation.... Is there anyway to improve that? I mean implement miui charge and play with background tasks a bit ?
Overall best rom out there for me personally....

As you know, MIUI turbo charge is based on closed-source QC3, so no way to get 30W charging... But better to have 18W, It doesn't harm too much the battery.
About optimization, i'm working to reduce active drains changing some implementations (my first build for internal testing before this one drained a lot more of battery, remembered me a Galaxy S6, but with time hope Will get better).
My tip for now is to use Franco Kernel Manager and change little governor to powersave, with min freq ~700 MHz, improves the battery life

Im using smartpack with min Freq of cpu at 300 for both big and little cores... It really save standby drain but its only in deep sleep. Even if it's set to 300 that doesn't mean that it will stay there when it's not in deep sleep so , my thinking is that it would be great to reduce required time to enter into that mode... You know a lot already trust me.. we have been waiting for rom till about 2-3 weeks so you guys really helped us and thanks for that... About qc3 i have noticed that sometimes when i plug in the phone it goes to 3000 mah for a 10-15 secs and then revert back to 18w 2000 mah that's why i assumed that it is possible indeed. Looking at charger specifications it doesn't look like qc3, more like miui custom solution
Edit: my govs are schedutil instead of powersave
