Wow, what a beast! Finally, after years of begging, someone finally makes a non rectangular battery! I may have to buy one for that reason alone.

Do you think I could do the otterbox case mod with this battery? I've seen it done with the mugen 6400mah battery, but this one is huge.

I already put this on my Amazon wish list. Will be ordering my Knockoff Defender Case so can mod it to see if it will work. Good thing I haven't ordered my 6400mah battery yet.

Wow?

Yea same. I'm so glad I didnt order a 6400. I ordered my defender series today. Can't wait to try to mod it with this battery.

Dam i just ordered a 6400 the other day. But this battery looks massive. Ive been wishing for a battery like this aswell that spreads the size of it evenly not just straight out. Doubt full that it wil even be able to be modded into a defender though. Probably will look al butchered

You maybe right, but it's worth a try. If anything I can imagine the whole back of the case needing to be cut out to fit this monster.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app

lol... I might order one just to check it out and run it through the paces on my test gear. I'm not real fond of the TPU type back cover, but it might be alright, and it would have some shock absorption value.

I read the Note 2 won't support NFC. I would be willing to pay extra money to have a case that supports NFC.

Agreed.
I am sending them this little note, in case they are willing to consider adding NFC in their battery as an option:
Greetings,
Xda developer Note II forums have mentioned that you are currently developing a Galaxy Note II super capacity battery.
I understand that due to the extreme size of the lithium ion battery, the NFC contacts are no longer exposed, thus NFC cannot be implemented in the battery back cover, as the Samsung and other third parties are currently doing.
I am currently using the Mugen extended battery, that does use NFC in the back cover, and use NFC for google wallet daily.
Although this is none of my business per se, and your product will be very successful, the lack of NFC will deter some users (including the writer of this brief note) from purchasing.
May I offer the suggestion of implementing the NFC back on the battery itself?
Since your battery will effectively sit on top of the NFC contacts, you could wrap around the battery the NFC contacts and implement the NFC on the battery’s back.
This after all is the way NFC is handled on the Samsung GSIII and Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
I understand that this would increase your production costs, so perhaps you could offer two models of the battery, tacking on the extra cost to the customers that would be willing to pay for this. I for one would be more than happy to, and I am sure that you will see the sentiment reflected in the online communities by others too.

I had one of their batteries for my s3. It was amazing. 3 days easy without charging and 10+ hours screen on. This one not having nfc sucks though.

Theoretically, if they don't do it themselves, we could add the nfc as a DIY.
Ebay sells the nfc adhesive strip, which you could attach to the back of the battery, and use contact copper strips to make the connection with the phone work again. I might actually experiment with that once they ship.

That was my plan also. I just got a cheapo flip cover I'm willing to hack for this mod. But now I just gotta wait 17 days.
5mins later...
The suspense is killing me!

My buddy has the one for the GS3 and while it is bigger the fit and finish can't be beat. It almost looks like they took three batteries and wired them together.
I'm willing to bet that this is going to be a great buy. If i didn't have the Anker and get great battery life already I'd be snapping this up!

I'm gonna see if you can actually mod this with the fake defenders and maybe carry an actual brick in my pocket of I buy it.

Extended battery

I went on amazon and found an extended battery for the lg thrill...its made by Hyperion and its a 3500 mah. I love this battery...I've had it on for 12 hours and have 63% left and that was using the phone a lot. I advise everyone who has a thrill to pick one up its only 17.99 and it cone with a back cover. The back cover isn't cheesy its the same rubbery material as the stock back cover. Only problem is it does add decent bulk to the phone but its well worth it....Idk about you guys but I'm tired of charging my phone 3 times a day.

Hey hegemytouch,
How's that battery holding up? I'm thinking about getting one, but I've heard stories that they only have the long charge for a little while and quickly lose capacity over a few charges (probably bc they've been sitting in a warehouse for a long time and just lost their capacity from that). I want to get an idea of how the Hyperion battery holds up. Thanks for the update.
The battery was pretty decent. The first charge you have to charge it for 12 hours...that lasted forever LOL..the battery life did.drop a little couple of charges in but still was worth it. Lasted all day with heavy use.

I ordered the 3500 mAh battery recently. I cannot wait until I receive it. My biggest gripe about this phone has been its battery life, but now that won't be an issue. Thanks for the excellent post.
Now I made this order fairly late and overlooked the fact that the battery is thicker than stock. Does the new battery come with a new back plate, or will I have to order that separately? Also are there some good protective cases for this phone available when using the thicker battery? I know my current one will no longer suffice.

It certainly does turn it into a brick, but for me the additional battery life makes it all worth it. I emailed Hyperion asking if there is a case for it. I am awaiting a response.

I have thought about getting an extended battery but like other people have said I dont think I would how bulky it makes it. If someone does make a case for it I will definitely try it. I get decent battery life right now. I am a heavy user of my phone and it will last me all day and night with no issues.
I have received my 3500mAh battery with a case to fit around the battery and I must say that it's NOT as bulky as people make it seem to be.

Do you mean the backplate to the phone or a protective case for the phone? If you found a protective case for the phone when using this battery please send me a link. I really need one since I have had my drops over the years with my phones, and I don't want to crack the screen. There's too much work involved in replacing them.

Definitely an easy pass. Case isn't worth $20 itself, needless to say another $10 to ship it. What a joke Google...
Not to hijack the thread. Just a question for everyone. It has probably been discussed elsewhere but you all seem interested on the topic. I know people have discussed if Google was in violation of crapple's patent for the smart cover. Do you ever wonder if Google decided to launch the device without a smart cover in order to not draw attention to it to avoid a lawsuit knowing others would make accessories utilizing it? They could claim it was for a dock or something.
I know this is a stretch, but how else do you explain such a pointless accessory? Also I know the Apple patent was very specific to the actual smart cover and that Google will be fine.

I dont want it to stand up. I know its not a smart cover.
I want a thin case with a cover for the screen.
Seems like it should work for me.
Also I currently have a leather case that is smart and fits perfectly in.... but I want it thinner.... And I can't get the "looks like a 15 year old nokia case" out of my head.
The rubber rounds the edges and raises the screen. Good enough for setting it down and providing some defense from casual tumbles from the bed or couch. I don't want a smart cover, I use a password every time and the button is right there. Why do people always find stuff to complain about, instead of ways to enjoy what you just bought. There will always be something better, find what works for you.

In need of a extended battery cover

I bought Anker 6200mAh Extended Battery after reading the reviews someone made on here. When I got the battery I put the cover on it and one of the pieces snapped off. So It doesn't stay on. I emailed the company, they told me to send it back for a refund. It would have cost me more to send it back than it actually cost. So I said screw it.
I might going to be going on a long trip pretty soon and would like to use the extended battery but need a new back cover. Does anyone know where to buy JUST the cover for cheap? Or does anyone have an extra they'd be willing to sell cheap? Please let me know. Thanks.

supposedly otterbox cases are big enough to use in place of a battery cover for extended batteries.
some people have been using then with zero lemon batteries.
Just to be clear. The Otterbox Defender can be used BUT it needs to be cut to fit any extended batteries.
Do a search for Hyperion Battery Cover on Amazon for the Note 2 if an extended battery cover is all you need.
some people use the seidio active extended case with that anker battery.

Hey, what happened to our plan about dissing Mugen? lol!!!
Here is what I would recommend, for $8+ shipped you get a new battery cover (looks like NFC is in the picture, or you can re-use yours if its not included), and you also get extended battery with it as well - http://www.ebay.com/itm/B171-NEW-65..._Cell_Phone_PDA_Batteries&hash=item27cbe1492c I can't voucher for ebay batteries, they all crap and this could be only 4500 mAh or maybe 6000 mAh, but either way you get a new battery door replacement and a bonus battery for $8. Then, for $5 get this TPU case with a kickstand for your extended battery/cover: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Black-S...t=US_Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&hash=item416ee5228d - yes, its a copy of Hyperion TPU case but for $5 who cares. So, for under $14 shipped you get a battery cover (with or without NFC, not sure), a battery (although could be questionable capacity), and TPU case with a kickstand (kickstand could be on a flimsy side, but you will get a good tpu grip and some drop protection for your phone).
How about asking Anker to sell you just a battery cover? Usually these companies are good and will most likely ship you one for little to no fee. Try their CS again maybe you just did not get the right person.

I could be wrong, but I was under impression they are discontinuing their 6200 mAh battery. But either way, you got 18-months warranty. Not sure how it works with warranty in this case since you didn't receive it broken and it wasn't a defect covered under warranty, but you can always ask them and even offer to buy it. Even if part is discontinued, under warranty they will keep spare parts for at least a year to cover any claims in that period of time. My experience of dealing with Anker was very positive.
I have an unused anker battery cover since I'm using the defender mod. Not sure how to get it to you though.

See there is a flaw with this especially for Sprint Users. I had also contacted them and I had even shown some pictures to them to prove to the fact that there are flaws with that battery.
One of the latches however does not connect fully. And to be honest the better life wasn't that great which is sad seeing how all my other Anker batteries were much better. The problem with Sprint is that we don't have the sim card so the geometry of the inside or architecture is a little different compared to Verizon, AT&T and T Mobile. If you had noticed the battery doesn't sit flush like it should if you check on Amazon you will have noticed my review that has mentioned that as well as somebody else. But I think it's funny that they told you you have to ship it I bought it off of Amazon and went through the customer service and was able to get it replaced free of charge which basically meant that they sent me another battery and back cover. I had taken pictures of that one as well, simple because I had the same issue and they actually refunded it. And I forgot to mention that I didn't buy the extended battery at first I had bought the original 3100 OEM. I told him I had a battery problem with the 3100 and had asked him to replace it with the 6200 cause it had cost the same at the time.

4800 maH with Stand. I placed an order but yet to pick it up due to low stock. I see other powerful batteries but they add that bulk and this has the stand which I absolutely need
Any opinion
This would add the most bulk to me, it makes the phone another inch longer. Plus that's not really the mah you'll get out of it since it's not replacing the battery just charging already in there.

tx for the reply, so this is not really a battery? all it does it charge the one I have i.e, I got sit there waiting for it to charge
I assume it takes over when the internal dies off?
PS Would you recommend the best extended battery? with case/stand, I keep hearing mugen - any other one?
Yes it just charges the internal battery you have. You can turn it off and on when you please not just when its dying although its ideal to use it when your phone is low on power. As for good battery with stand I would recommend either Mugen or Seidio. Amazon seems to have the battery and case with stand for mugen together but with Seidio looks like you have to purchase the battery and case with stand seperate. Both up there in price but very good. Hope this helps.

Zerolemon S6 Edge Battery Case

Just FYI for those of us who got lucky and got an opportunity to test this case and provide a review, check your email. I received my code this morning and it's only valid for about 24 hours. Sweet looking forward to your review.
If anyone from ZL is reading this thread, might want to correct your case description on the website:
"We at Zerolemon knows how to make battery right for you. With 3500mAh battery installed, you will get 130% additional power for your Galaxy S6 Edge. With the small battery and big LCD screen in Galaxy S6, you will be glad you are carrying this battery case around!"
Samsung phones have AMOLED screens, not LCD.
I got my email and paid for 1 day shipping as well! We'll see how good they are. I got black, you?

Dam that just ruins the whole look of the s6/edge. Lol so ugly.
What I noticed about this case also is the bottom edge sits really close to the home button. If you put your thumb flat it dosent even touch the home button. You literally have to go at it at an angle. Feels very plasticy and makes the edge look so ugly

This kind of case with extended battery might be a hot thing few years ago, but now with all these new technology like power bank, wireless charging, new fast charging from Qualcomm in both wall and car charger. makes these old thing obsolete.
Pair this with S6 Edge, that's even a bigger sin by itself.

I agree but i also think its time for phone makers to start thinking more of new battery technology and less processor and new designs. However. .. my opinion is they will do away with big bulky phones, go with the new flexible screen and cloud service. Same with laptops and desktops.
i forgot to hit one day shipping when i got my code and mine comes Thursday.
i have purchased other items from them in the past and been very happy and not reading reviews here at all yet so i dont go in looking for stuff and its a clean slate in my head
