Battery & RAM Tweaking Guide
**Performance Tweaks**
-> DISABLE AUTOMATIC BRIGHTNESS
-> ENABLE AUTOMATIC BACKLIGHT FILTERING
-> WIPE CACHE
-> WIPE DALVIK CACHE
-> ENABLE ZRAM (18%)
-> ENABLE PURGING OF ASSETS
-> REBOOT
Also, after installing all the apps via ZIPs
-> FIX PERMISSIONS via CWM
-> REBOOT
Fixing permissions will make sure there isn't any unwanted FCing.
Charge your Battery to a 100%:
-> WIPE BATTERY STATS
-> REMOVE Charger
-> Use for complete cycle (to nearly 10%)
-> Do not reboot anywhere in between
-> CHARGE to 100% (and give additional 1 hour after that)
-> Enjoy COMPLETE BATTERY CYCLE
This ensures that when your battery shows 5% remaining, it actually is 5% instead of really being 15%. That's why battery calibration is important. It doesn't improve battery life, but gives you your COMPLETE Battery life.
MORE:
- Go to SETTINGS>DEVELOPER OPTIONS
- Force 2D GPU rendering
**RAM Cleaning**
- Do not use task killers
- Freeze/Move to Quarantine those APPS which you DO NOT USE regularly and you don't want them TO RUN IN THE BACKGROUND
APP QUARANTINE on Play Store
Go ahead, try it. Move all unwanted apps to quarantine now!
**DEEP SLEEP BATTERY SAVER**
Your phone sips the least amount of power when it is in DEEP SLEEP STATE. There is a new app in the marketplace which can FORCE DEEP SLEEP STATE on your phone. This is especially useful if you want the phone to conserve battery for hours and then wake up for a minute and sync all new alerts in one go. This can help prolong your usage on a single charge.
DEEP SLEEP BATTERY SAVER on Play Store
This app is under development and can be found on XDA developers forums itself. Here's the link to the thread:
[APP] [2.1+] Deep Sleep Battery Saver
**BATTERY CALIBRATION**
FOR THOSE WITH BATTERY PROBLEMS:
1.After flashing your phone with a new ROM, install this software:
BATTERY CALIBRATOR on Play Store - 47 KB size
2.Then, charge your phone to 100%.
3. IMPORTANT. Remove CHARGER first.
4. IMMEDIATELY hit "Battery Calibration" (1 or 2 seconds delay is fine, wait for BATTERY voltage to drop and be stable)
5. Use your phone normally (don't charge in between) till it hits 1%.
6. Then charge your phone UNINTERRUPTED (leave it for charging all night) till 100%.
7. Unplug and start using. You should be having as little as 2-3% battery drain for 6-8 hours of IDLING now. That's the optimization of a calibrated battery.

Hello, i tried to install this ROM on my Xperia Z because im a huge fan of CM
The flashing etc. went fine but after booting the ROM it force quits all apps (install wizard, music info etc etc.)
I hope you can fix this in the future, for now ill just reinstall the stock ROM untill this has been better developed
Thanks for your work! Keep it up:good:
EDIT:
Figured out you have to do the data wipe after the installation instead of before the installation..
Works Perfectly now

Haha, just follow flash instructions buddy!
Can you post screenshots please?

Flashed this one yesterday. WiFi was working fine. Only thing I had was stopping music info when going to the tab 'My Music'.
I already flashed back to stock, not because I don't like CM, because I really do. But when I want to lock, my screen doesn't go off 100%. Bright light will stay, thats the only reason why I changed back.
When this gets fixed. I will flash again.
Only thing I didn't like were the fonts, I prefer the stock ones.

FXP bug. Waiting for new FXP 210 or later release to be with further bugs squashed.
Okay, fonts will be taken care of. Although there's a guide on how to change it already.

Cache wiping fails
cannot wipe cache. Really don't know why, but the whole cache partition is not readable...

i don't know if the cache problem is causing the Cyanogenmod boot screen to hang, but is does... .. .

In all Xperia Z recovery's there is a issue which won't let the cache mount so you can't wipe it. It's a known bug.

i know it is still early to say anything, but what a buggy CWM recovery, ROM and phone...
I really hope the fixing and stable rom building won't take long... .. .

I and others have found using the below kernel v2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=885476
and following these steps gave us the best battery performance:
Install 12.24 and flash the superior battery kernel in the thread I posted. I'm getting phenomenal results. Before installing 12.24 I wipe the cache partition and dalvik cache then install the rom. Before rebooting while still in recovery I once again wipe cache partition and dalvik cache then flash the superior kernel v.2 then reboot. Give it a try and post back your results. (credit: K_chupe)

longer battery and stability for me. I would not say it is much smoother than the stock kernel. I also did seem to notice that the stock kernel was a bit quicker but the battery results out weighed this for me.

I have and I have found the kernel from ms79723 has performed better for me in relation to battery performance. I did not have any issues with 21.
I was on .18 with invisiblek's #18 kernel and battery took a major dump. I read the same from others. Seems all is well now. I'm on a plane but I'll try it out in an hour. The wifi on my Delta flight is free- sponsored by google chrome. <3 google!

HI to FIH-FBO Community.
This is the final built for CM7.2.1. basically to improve performance and look wise . I have used lib and framework of JOY OS/O2 Rom and cm7 by MT. This rom should have every quality of a complete rom but if still any thing is left I will try to help it out.
Some basic improvements are
1. Camera/camecorder improved ( latest libs used)
2. improved gaming from last Joy os for our phone.
3. fast and stable rom
4. Tweaked for performance
5. touch improved
6. Android on fire : BOOT ANIMATION
and many more

Secondly just factory reset and install. no need to do other things.

Just want to thank Tanuj for this beautiful ROM.
On the ROM from last 2 days wants to say this is one of the perfect GB ROM.
1. ROM with espire launcher is perfect Iphone Exp (Although not that fascinated with iPhone UI but tried as I want to try it).
2. GPS is working like a charm
3. Volume wake up works great
4. Gamers ROM (not tried NFS yet but other 3D games work great)
5. There was a full SMS notification in lockscreen (Like JB) but while playing with setting I missed that, maybe I will regain it very soon
6. Awesome mix of CM7 setting and Joy Setting
7. Not faced WiFi SOD yet but still check it again.
Not get a chance to check Camera but will update the review whenever weill get chance.
Only problems I faced are Reboot ( 2 - 3 per day) and get heat slightly on higher side on while using 3G

I don't think so any ROM is in KB's.. i.e. 102.869 Kb ( 105,337,678 bytes )..
You should reDownload it... Real ROM is about 100MB...

I just redownload again with size 100MB,but install again and still on android logo and can't booting...
Thanks Tanuj,
The ROM is great.
First time boot was a issue for me then I just removed the battery and started again and it worked.
I restarted the the phone 3-4 times (in one go) to get it more stable.
ROM is petty cool. 1-2 times I got Force close on Settings.
Rest all looks fine.
Bluetooth also works fine.
Interface is smooth and clean.
Great ROM.

Click thanks if you like my ROM - Please leave feedback too! - Please donate if you can! My ROM development is so hard as I only have an Arc which is broken! The touch screen is faulty in places so if you donate I can test more and make many more stuff for you all!
Is all bloatware deleted? All Sony applications like Play golf or play now or like that? All ROM GB I find have lot of useless applications and I've no more space for my applications!

Look in the general section, you will see it there, or just google "xperia arc baseband collection xda"
This ROM is pure speed and nothing special. It has the normal music player. Its basic excluding battery percentage and quick toggles. You can then install add-ons to make it unique for you

thanks! i am curious so i tried installing this, but i wasn't successful. i put doomkernel v22, format data/cache/dalvik, and installed the rom.
however after the progress bar gets filled, its just hanged (see attached pic).
long press on the power restores control back in CWM main menu, and i did format data/cache/dalvik again, then finally reboot.
after that, the phone just remains hanged on the doomkernel logo.
EDIT : i tried Xperia Plus Version 9, and the same issue happens. just for isolation i tried reinstall arconium 8.2 and it installs without that problem.
any suggestion?

Your not giving it long enough. Install either again and leave it for 5 minutes. The status bar is setup badly so it shows its complete when its not
I am trying to fix it in v10 of xperia plus and v1.10 of xperia slim. Just testing v1.10 now
thanks! i think i rather wait for 1.10. believe me i waited 5 minutes and more. a very slim 90MB install shouldn't take that unusually long, don't you think?

Yeah I'm sorry, because of a fail during format /system, those apps stayed in the ROM. I reformated all and now no one of those apps are in the ROM.

[ROM][GB][12/09][ARC/S] XtremE GB [v3.0]

Hello Everyone!!
After almost chilling out for a year on XDA, this is my first contribution
I've tried out many ROMS for our beloved devices, but couldn't stay on a single ROM for more than 3-4 days....
Then I thought, why shouldn't I make my own ROM according to my taste and have full liberty of customizing it....
SO after a week or two of reading through guides and checking videos, here it is!! My first ROM based on Gingerbread
(imo our devices were meant to run on GB :angel: )
I've been using this Rom for over a month now without any problems, so i decided to share it with the community...hope you like it!!
And guys, please dont hesitate to tell me if you want anything new or want a new feature or want it removed...we're always here to help you....thanks....you guys mean a lot to me

Tested the rom no bug yet found
very smooth
some things missings bro such as cpu control
love the transparent status bar (someway to remove battery percentage in it)
Enabled 2g/3g toggle in quicktoggles button but not appearing in statusbar
Great rom straight out of the box :good:
As pentium has said no 2g 3g toggle in statusbar is the only fault I find so far.
I tried to load CM'S focal camera.apk , but all I get in ES File explorer is "there is a problem parsing the package"
I don't know if it will ever be able to be intsalled or not, but if it could be, this would be my perfect rom !!!!
Never the less, it's great as it is, congratulations
Flash
Nicely made ROM!!! I love the smoothness, themes are fantastic, performance is superb. BUT, I have a request- Could you make a flashable Zip to add panorama please??? It's something I use alot hehe... Thanks you for the ROM, now I can show off to my friends haha!!!
