Re: [rom] Linaro cm 10.1 4.2.2
Okay so I couldn't resist. I nandroided CM10 to check this out. Very nice work and so much better than the previous "unreleased" version you had, no offense. I think the latest kernel version and linaro apparently make a real difference.
Btw any way to get to dev options so I can turn off animations. It really makes a difference. Thanks.

Awesome, it enabled performance settings for those who might not know too.
A great day for our device thanks to Team Insomnia. They've done what I thought may never happen and got JB to run nicely on this device.

It's not included in the ROM so don't know.

Torch doesn't work for this device period. You have to use an app from the play store

Benchmarks
OK, for what they are worth to anybody. Scores for Antutu and Quadrant. The Antutu score is 300 points higher than when I used a CM10 ROM last year without OC.
BTW I can also report 3rd party camera apps like UCam work just fine, so does "search by camera" using Gnow.

Let's see here...
CM 10.1 :good:
Linaro :good:
Nearly everything working :good: (who cares about bt)
Looks like an instant daily driver!
What version is the included kernel?
Does it have OC baked in?
Any special governors?
What about I/O schedulers? (I've fallen in love with ROW recently!)
Downloading this now, but I probably won't get a chance to flash it until tomorrow night or even Thursday. The wait is too long! >_<
In any case, this surely looks exciting and I can't wait to try it!! :highfive:

Kernel is 3.0.66, no OC, standard list of govs (for stock kernel) and yes, row is included for I/O. BTW yes this is an instant DD!
Also want to mention that DSP actually works with Poweramp if enabled in the Poweramp equalizer settings and Beautiful Widgets clock stays in sync with the time and doesn't get constantly FCd like it did with CM10.

Tim you're killing it man, thanks

Amazing job on this one. Best CM I have used on this phone so far. Thanks much!

Thanks for the awesome rom. One thing though: the Google Now Text to Speech doesn't seem to be working.

to all, seems like you can dirty flash the 4.2 roms over each other without any repercussions; I flashed this over rootbox, then flashed cm10.1 over this, and all worked fine

Re: [rom] Linaro cm 10.1 4.2.2

Yeah I have to say right now I'm glad I didn't fork out the money for another phone. Patience and being somewhat cheap has finally paid off. Last month I was ready to crush this thing like an empty can.

What works:

What doesn't work:
Camera
Bluetooth
Google Now can be slow and crash
The battery life is not as good as Jocala's 929 cm9 build, but it's pretty good nonetheless. This and a few screenshots should be included in the OP.
google now seems to work perfectly

Issues throughout the day.
Been using the phone all day, some thoughts: The ringtone is not pulling from the SD card for some reason. I assign it, it works in the assign menu, then when the phone rings I just get a notification, and that's it. The ringtone never happens. Also all my custom ringtones got duplicated somehow, as well as my pictures.
Then the max volume is about 25% of normal volume on other stuff.
Not complaining, just providing feedback for continued dev.
Is the camera problem the same as in Jocala's CM9?

Unfortunately, that ringtone issue is also on CM9. I've been using one of the built-in ringtones instead of the Sonic the Hedgehog theme.
Finally I'm featured in a thread. Is anything updated? Also another bug, battery related. I went to school, I don't use the phone that oftain, and the battery is more than half dead, any solutions to this? I think it's the GBApps
EDIT: Also, I'm having trecbuchet crash problems, it crashes sometimes then I can't get back to home .-.

4.2.2 AOKP
Just flashed on CM10 Camcory Build. Going to see how it works. So far really smooth. OC'd to 1.5 GHz Really you developers are amazing.
P.S. Has anyone tested on CM10 Linaro?
Have nandroids of both deodexed and odexed both clean installs with just stock galls. Will run it thru them both. Linero that is.

Ran it up on clean installs on both linero versions only gapps installed. Flawless and super smooth.
Installed over DBK v8 super smooth and benches same as v8 but smoother. Camera works smoothly and better. Video as well. Wifi seems better. GPS works faster and seamless smoothness with Google navigation. Google now is more fluid and more responsive. Memory pool has a little more used out of it but well worth it. Life is Magic online video game plays better and even graphics seems cleaner and more vibrant. I ran this up to 1804 and performed benches on all settings up to and including 1804 in antutu and quadrant. Phone runs cooler thruout this entire time and previous 1804 would become hot.
I cannot find a flaw but cannot do a teather at my location right now.
I don't feel it can get any better than this.
Outstanding and well worth the wait. Kudos to all who made this possible. Most especially noted our very own Tim and Arco for their tireless efforts put forth.

That ROM is just a port with a CM10 base and CM10 stock kernel. So shouldn't make a difference I would think.

You didn't give much info other than installed and booted to kernel logo then black screen. This is where pertinet facts should be mentioned.
Did you do dirty install or clean
Did you wipe cache after install
Did you fix permissions after install
Which smoothie did you flash to v2 or v3
With those answered maybe we can assist answering your question. Maybe it can help someone else as well by the issue being resolved for you. It can also lead to a list of compatible Roms it works with.
Help us help you and be a little more forthcoming with details.
A pertinet article from smoothie thread. Please read because if v8 worked then 3.0 should as well.

Fantastic work Tim!
Team Insomnia is kicking ass! Proud user of the ROMs and kernels provided by the team. Thanks guys!
BTW I'm running at 1.5 performance on latest slim bean by cam. Everything is working so far including camera. Just one note though not to sound complaining but its a bit sluggish once it boots up phone completely. I'm guessing because of loading apps. But other the. That great !
This kernal is amazingly smooth. I love it! One quick question. What exactly is the fantasy governor? Ive scoured google with no luck.
'fantasy' - This driver adds a dynamic cpufreq policy governor.
The governor does a periodic polling and changes frequency based on the CPU utilization.
The support for this governor depends on CPU capability to do fast frequency switching (i.e, very low latency frequency transitions).

I've been lurking in these parts for awhile now & thought I would finally chime in. Hello! Thanks so much for the excellent development on this little guy. I've been having a ton of fun with this phone. I've tried all kinds of CM 10 builds with the 2.6 kernel. I finally landed on a sweet spot (for me) a couple of weeks ago with the following config:
Linaro cm10 - DEODEX
DB - v.6
Brazilian 368 - 1204
Deadline
Anywho, I thought I would flash this DB 3.0 bad boy over the the top of that using this method:
Wipe cache/dalvik
flash kernel
fix permissions
wipe cache/dalvik again
reboot
Everything appeared great, but later in the day I noticed that the vibrate function had stopped working on button press & ring. I rebooted, but it was still the same. I wonder if it had anything to do with switching kernels after so many apps & junk were installed? It's no biggie, I was wanting to try the new CM 3.0 anyway, so I have loaded that up now. I just wanted to start posting my experiences here to aid in the excellent development that is happening. :victory: I will post back when I get a chance to test the CM 3.0 rom on this kernel.

why did you make EVERYTHING so small?
it doesn't seem natural for font/images to be so small in scale on this 3.7 inch screen
any way to undo this?
also: wifi tethering doesn't seem to be working

Change the DPI to 240. There's something in the settings to help guide you through this to prevent the play store from going out of whack.
Also, it wouldn't hurt to be a little more respectful. These devs give you a product for free in their own free time, so show a little appreciation. It's one thing to report problems and/or bugs, but it's another story when you come off sounding like a jerk. You've been a member for quite some time, so you should know this already. Just my 2c

Not really. I have tried every 3td party app and still nothing. It is all good though. Tim is a great dev and will get everything sorted. Just keep your eyes on the forums. Great things are coming for this little phone that can. Lol.

This is a port bkjolly has been doing from
the PACMan rom he in no way developed this rom
he ported it to work with this specific device with
the help of Dhacker and Hashcode.
All credit for the rom is the PACMan devs alone.
As well as this thread if you look at the bottom of the page you will find
the OP that was created at xda and this was copied from.
Description
After months of work, the long awaited PACman 4.2 rom is ready for public
released. This is still work in progress WIP and there are many missing
parts. Though the rom is rock stable for average users. We are working
on it daily to fill the missing parts.
Now what is PACman? The idea was to remove the need for a hunt of rom and
cure flasholicsm by providing everything xda has in rom development in a
single bloat free rock stable rom. This is the FIRST rom of its kind
with a hybrid framework consisting on cm10.1, AOKP and AOSPA. What makes
PACman unique is this perfect blend of all of these. Be informed PACman
is not a "git cherry-pick blahblah yeee i am a dev donatezzz me" rom.
It took a LOT of work of thinking behind to merge the frameworks in the
right order.

great! going to Flash ASAP!
How stable is it? Is it similar to cm 4.2.2 lag and speed?
Flashing anyways lol, will report back, thanks
EDIT: Flashed Bytecode's kernel with this rom (VanquishKernel). Just like cm10.1, it gave a boost in speed and lag reduction. Also, Voice Search isn't working. Amazing rom so far, can't wait for the more updates

Same issues as cm10.1 but you get insane customization. Lag is way better with the kernel. No camera preview.

It's still worse but a lot less noticeable than cm10.1 without the kernel. Also the pictures it takes turn out super over exposed.

No nav bar. Please someone show me how to get it back. Cannot find it in the settings.
You guys will get a lot better support if you ask the developer in the original thread.

I just did a full wipe without restoring system data. On the first boot pie was enabled at the bottom. Setting the navigation bar to 100% in hybrid properties disabled pie and had the navigation bar show up like normal.
It may be possible that some code was changed in AOSPA that's causing that bug on your phone?
When you have a chance, take a nandroid backup, factory reset, flash PAC and see if the issue persists.

And everyone should just, open that link to check
Alright, vanir WWJB kernel uploaded
Okay nice Will test it soon And like always the question. Are the Vanir things in german too?
Anyone else red edges/bars around screen while process/phone freeze?
Great to see a new Rom, especially with such good features. Great work.
Just one question, what device tree are you using?
Can't find it on vanir github.

Rom sounds nice. Just flashed it. Seems very smooth (smoothest ive ever seen on this phone)
Bug report:
- First time i installed the rom, i couldnt do anything. It just freezed and rebooted after 1-2 minutes.
- Now it works, but the hardware buttons have heavy problems. (sometimes they work, sometimes they say just: nah, i dont like you)
- Browser crashes
- sometimes when i click in the settings menu the "battery" button i get a red rectangle for a second or so
I'm really asking myself why HALO 2.0 isn't implemented in other ROMs as well, because this is the only ROM which isn't slowed down by halo in general (my experience)
And it is indeed blazing fast
Good job @laufersteppenwolf

you can't find it on vanir, as it's an unofficial port

note: i can't do much about bugs, as it's a pure port. to actually "fight" bugs, i would have to make it official (to be "allowed" to change sources). But as long as it's inside the device tree, i will look at it for sure
also, this is a pretty early build. the devs are still heavily working on it. so it's most likely a general bug, and will be solved soon
Without any doubt one of the fastest ROM i ever tried !
I don't know about battery for the moment but I'm going to test.
I also have these red lines on the border of my screen but I'm going to add the line to the build.prop

Also it seems that the Transparency settings are not working
