If you put some effort and search the threads on this forum you will find that there are few posts that talk about this theme...Anyways,from what ive read on those posts,USB OTG isnt supported, few guys that actually have tried and said that it isnt working(eventhough on the thread ppl are saying that the device has the hardware for that feature, but the software is the problem, kernels and whatnow,im just a newbie on this stuff so dont quite understand all this clearly
About the HDMI stuff, alot of people reported that probably its gonna work with the MHL adapter from samsung, the same one for the S3 and Note2,and that some sites that are selling those adapters have included the S3mini in the description for the support...
Anyways i recommend you to read the posts about this stuff

XDA Manipulator with TyTN II

I want to unlock the phone and it seems that XDAManipulator is the right tool for the job. The problem is that it requires a serial cable and i cannot seem to find a serial-to-miniUSB cable anywhere! I have been trying to search for several days without success; its very frustrating. In my frustration i ordered an old cable for older HTC phones (with a wide pin connecter).
There's quite a few old communication utilities that i have that work over serial so i would benefit a lot from such a cable.
Thanks in advance.
The Kaiser wiki comes to the rescue

The HTC Kaiser wiki has details about how to unlock the TyTN II and no serial cable is reqd. I see you're new here, welcome along. It's well worth reading up and there's loads of good info in that wiki including links explaining how to do what you want. Note that people will expect you to do your homework and read whats available here on the topic before posting any questions that are already covered. The search function will also be useful. Lots of holiday reading!

line out through USB?

hi,
I hooked up a veripart 3 in 1 mini USB adapter for an all-in-one deal (power supply plus line out for my car stereo), but the line out doesn't work (headset not supported, remove the cable, my blackstone says)
The issue is that there are no drivers installed, so HTC tells me to use the 3.5 mm jack instead. But that's a pre amped headphones-out, so I reckon it's poorer quality than a line out option via mini USB. Does anyone know if there's a driver available/possible to make the line out work??
[I searched the forums, didn't find anything]
thanks

Dude, see carefully where you are posting and where you should post. Why make the forum such a mess if you guys know how to post something but never bother where it should be posted? Here is rom development posts only.

Especially since it has already been discussed extensively here. That's just lazy.

[Q] Galaxy Tab 7 and USB Host Adapter

samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-tab-accessories/EPL-1PL0BEGSTA
Will this work with Galaxy Tab 7 P1000 with android 4.0 ICS CM9 Rom?
No, it will not work out of the box. You need to mod your tab and/or the adapter for this to work. Look into the development section, there are two threads on this subject.
If you plan on physically hacking your device that should get you on the right track. Otherwise, it's best you keep out of harms way...
Sorry.
I can't find the thread you said...
Where it is?
Thanks
I'm looking for this feature as well. Any help would be much appreciated.
in the CM9 DEVELOPMENT thread itself

read those posts around it.
i was reading that, someone posted that link in another usb hosting post. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23060925
I saw people posting pictures, but never really saw how they were rigging up their "Y" cable configurations. Looking like i'll need:
-Data Cable
-Charge Cable
-Y Cable
-Female to Female Adapter
-USB Hub
My goal would be to get all this USB hosting info into a thread that people could find by searching
I found them by searching. And I thought the construction is pretty clear and off-the-shelf.
I just found that USB host in GTab 7 is not useful because of the need to supply power to the USB. It may be interesting to see, but not practical.
from my understanding, it's only 5v. i could have a battery set up and supply everything.
also, as far as searching goes, for every 20 topics about usb, only one has something worth reading. The best resource i've found is the 200 and something post of a rom thread. i don't see what the problem is with trying to get this in a place that people can find everything in one thread.
It's like this thread. Without having the tablet in front of you, it makes it seam like a non-issue.

Let me google that for you.
You can try using a USB OTG cable, if it recognizes, then root and use Sixaxis Controller for wireless use ( but check compatibility first)
@dip_spit
If that would require simple googling I wouldn't be asking, Are you trying to get your first 10 posts?
It's second silly answer on this forum I've got and both are from americans, please do not post in my threads yankees :silly:

Well then maybe Google and don't ask because it was that simple. Also, yes, I'm trying to get my first ten posts 200+ posts after I already got my first ten. And it's not a "silly" answer. It's THE answer. And don't sh!t on my answer because I'm American, most of the people on this website are from America, so that's who you're going to get answers from. And I'm not a yank idiot, I'm from Tennessee which is in the South, and even more so I'm ethnically Russian and American by birth. Next time try Googling before asking a question and you won't have any threads for us American's to answer in.
Edit: And really dude? MY first ten posts? You've only got FOUR, so you're one to talk. I've been more helpful for longer than you've even been around.

You should be happy anyone answered your post anyway much less dip_spit since he knows what he's talking about! You're the one coming to us "Americans"...
Be careful with whatever other crap you're going to reply with or your "thread" will be deleted..
I apologize,
I didn't meant to sound like a troll or make anyone angry or upset.
thing was I already knew everything and I asked my question wrong.
proper question is: do HTC Desire bluetooth module "supports" dualshock 3 as the sixaxis controller app site states that not all new Samsung and HTC devices does that.
Important - Due to the non-standard protocol that the controllers use to communicate with the host, this application requires root access. Additionally, it is incompatible with most HTC devices and some newer Samsung devices. This is due to the required bluetooth protocol not being implemented on these devices. We are actively looking into a work around, but currently the only solution is to install a custom firmware, such as Cyanogenmod, that supports the required protocols.

once more I apologize @dip_spit @MrMike2182
For now rooting this thing is stressful to even think about it, with my old Samsung it was easier.
And about this link with USB OTG, European model doesn't really support it sadly.

I'm taking a shot in the dark here but I'm going to guess that no, it won't work. If newer HTC devices are known not to work well, and given that our phone is only a year or so old, I'm going to guess that it won't. You can always fire up the compatibility app and see if it'll work first or you can just go off and try it.
HOWEVER, I'm pretty sure it said something on the Sixaxis app about it not working at all if the USB OTG won't work, but I didn't look it up again this time.
Also, rooting this device is fairly simple, I've written up a guide in the General section if you need a walkthrough.

P880 OTG Support

Hi!
I know. On forum I can find many, many threads about that, but they are old and maybe today someone found how to activate OTG.
And this is my question: We can activate OTG or still do not?
Sorry for my bad English
