[Q] Sony Xperia Z suddenly stopped working - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Sony Xperia Z suddenly stopped working today. I connected it to the charger yesterday, and when I tried to turn it on today it won't respond. I tried to do the reset by holding power up and the power button, but with no result. The red LED is constantly on.
Is there anything I can do?

Xperia Z screen problem

Hello developers!
Having troubles with my Z's screen. Going to explain whole procedure.
After turning device on I can normally use it, everything works problem starts when I press power button to
standby, I cant turn it on but if somebody calls me, display goes on again. I can also normally use power button to switch off so
button is working properly. P.S. If xperia is on the cable, it's also working normally. Is it software problem or what? Have no idea.

[Q] Xperia Z c6603 not booting

Hey guys,
Havent been here in a long time... Well let me start from the beggining, i hope it wont be too long. I unlocked and rooted a phone a while ago (i think its irellevant), and had been using it since the without messing with anything but usual root stuff(lucky patcher, busybox, auto clicker and such). Today, i dropped it and after that it shut off, coudnt turn it on... I think it had a live vertically once that i was trying to boot it today, but it was sunlight so i am not sure.... When i try to turn it on it vibrates once. When i connect it to the charger it doesn't charge or light up the led. The screen is black all the time so no signs there. When i hold vol up+power it vibrates once and when i hold it for more time it vibrates three times, as it should but nothing comes up. But when i connect the charger, and hold vol up + power it vibrates and lights up red led. Then it stays on even when i disconnect the phone from charger.
I connected the phone to Sony Emma, and flashed KitKat build 10.5.1.A.0.292 but once again after it flashed nothing happened.
And i have also opened the phone back and checked the connections to the board, and they all seem to be fine ...
Should i bury it or is there something else i can do?
Anyone has any ideas ? i somehow managed to get to fastboot and flash mode and tried to flash recovery, custom rom, stock rom (with flashtool)... Nothing seems to work ...

Try holding volume up and power button until the phone vibrates 3 times, if it doesn't work you should try the Flashtool

Chances for a software glitch are really slim.... It might be the LCD lamp chip that got fried. While the screen is (supposedly) On hold a flashlight on the screen and see if there's any activity on the screen. If you can see something while the phone is held under strong light then it's a hardware chip. Alternatively you could try to reflash the FW. But from it's behavior it's hardware related.

Power Button/Fingerprint scanner not working Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact: Can't turn on.

Hey everyone, the power button stopped working on my XZ1 Compact. I guess it's come loose inside. Unfortunately I allowed the battery to run down and now can't turn it back on. I have since fully charged it and when plugged into the mains displays clearly that it's fully charged, but it won't switch on! I also installed Xperia Companion and it recognises the phone, and says it's locked. But it's not locked it's "off" for all intents and purposes.
I've searched and searched for guides but none are specific to this handset. Does anyone know of a way to boot the phone without the power button? I have tried all permutations of booting it. When plugged into a PC holding the volume rocker down the green charging light comes on. When holding volume UP the light is blue, but the phone remains blank.
I believe I have the Asian version of the handset of that makes any difference.
I can't believe there would be no plan B for when the power button fails!
Cheers in advance
Alex
