[Q] HTC Media Link HD and HTC One - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anybody know if the HTC Media Link HD, which was introduced and worked with the One X, will also work with the HTC One?
It would be the most useful accessory for me, and others, since my TV doesn't have DLNA or any other wireless connectivity.
Any input welcome and appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

There are some pre-order actions which give y ou a média link if you buy a HTC one.
So i guess yes it should work

Yes, Amazon have been offering the media link free with some orders so i would say almost 100% yes that it will work, i hope so because i have mine that i got with my One X, selling the phone but keeping the media link.

Mine will arrive today or tomorow.
I will report back how well the medialink works.

Great news then, thnx everybody!

Can confirm 100% that it works, same swipe gesture as One X.

It seems to output 1080p/24 as the standard output to my TV with the HTC One

Nexus One Hardware Question

So my Android headphones w/the mic in them died. I need a replacement pair and I was looking for suggestions. Also I was wondering if the Apple ones for the iPhone would work because I work at a store that sells them and I could use my discount.
Thanks in advance for the help!

At first I was like OMG, but alas, streaming does not work.
I'm also interested in this, i'll try and find one after my class lets out. There is an app to stream tv shows that I use and it's pretty good, has alot of tv shows. https://market.android.com/details?id=tvshows.kiio.es

Yes I use TV Shows stream as well and its quite awesome although a tad expensive but at least its only a one time fee. Definitely give it a look. Tons of shows to choose from. I use it every day on my tab both with and without my HDMI dock.
T-Mobile tab running latest Overcome
The tv shows stream app is amazing. The quality of the videos varies but the sheer amount of shows available makes up for it.
I've been doing some research and just looking into it I have the leaked app but not streaming I'm able to move my que and all that good jazz but my question is how exactly is netflix blocking streaming from my Droid and letting streaming on Windows 7 phone and the iPhone...Verizon has both on their network.

DRM in the hardware. The LG Revolution will have NetFlix which supports said DRM. We have the same processor as that phone so hopefully NetFlix adds support for the Thunderbolt.
I was at class all day but I found this link, says it works' for certain devices

NVM: Looked into it a little more,

As far as I know the leaked netflix app that was announced a few weeks ago doesn't work on the Tbolt.
Oh well. There isn't any other app that I am aware of and I've been an Android girl for over a year now.. So I think you might be out of luck. There is a website though that is java enabled that I use to be able to watch movies through my phone. Hope that eases a bit of the frustration Netflix is causing by not providing an app yet for us
The website name is veetle dot com & I also love LOVE the TV Stream app. That works wonders for me. Hope this helps
Playon works! Had mine working but then my mobile connection broke. Never got to try mobile data to wee how it streams but worked well with WiFi.

Correct, it doesn't work on the TB right now... But it doesn't work on any other phone either at this moment. That's because it is assumed that Netflix hasn't yet "flipped the switch" to turn it on since it's not yet ready for primetime (the .apk itself was prematurely pulled from an upcoming LG ROM dump) and has not yet been 'officially' released from Netflix.
The Bolt has the same processor as the upcoming LG device that is confirmed to support Netflix. As such, it is presumed that the Bolt has the same DRM keys to allow for streaming. It's just a matter of Netflix enabling streaming to the app on their end
From what I understand from one of our reps, is that there is a going to be a netflix streaming app working on Verizon soon, they are waiting for a specific phone to launch it.
can't wait!
So do we know maybe an ETA on when we can expect to see it go live?

Probably around the time the LG Revolution drops (since it is likely the phone that is slated to "launch" the Netflix app), which is scheduled for a Q2 release
That is correct, will first launch on the Revolution. You guys don't have to much longer to wait

I might actually restart my netflix service when this comes live. Might not be so bad watching movies on this screen. My Inc was just a little too small to really enjoy.

MHL Adapter

Just wondering which MHL adapters everyone is using with there Vivid...just a FYI i bought this one...
http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0380508
and it does not work with our phones. Just wanting to get a list of ones that for sure work and dont. Would save time for others later. Thanks
My job (I sell cellphones at Fry's Electronics) carries a similar item... not sure if it'll work. If I end up buying it then i'll confirm it here.

There are several on Amazon that work pretty well. You're better off sticking with an official HTC mhl adapter. I tried an mhl with a power pass through earlier this week and it was a no go. Its trial and error

I know. I would just like to make a list of known ones that work, to keep people from having to purchase multiple $15 adapters. It adds up fast
I bought the one from fry's a week or so ago. Works great.
I guess I'll let ya know after Christmas since it's all sold out since I put the link. Wasn't when I originally put it up. Oh well. maybe I'll spend the extra 10 to get the other one from fry's. The monoprice one was tested on evo 3d in the video I think.. can't rem for sure tho.

quality was decent, i didnt really do any extensive testing.. i downloaded a $.99 SD quality movie from the market and watched it, i wanted to make sure it worked. It was good enough to satisfy my needs. I will probably try one of the HD movies soon. Overall i am satisfied with it.

I can only tell the playback of what I recorded with the phone's camera (1280x720) settings, the output is very clear and good quality.

It works great with HD content!
Is there a trick to getting the HDMI output to work or is it just really picky about the adapters. I purchased an Accell MHL to HDMI at Fry's (link in beginning of thread) and I'm not seeing anything.

HTC Media Link HD or MHL?

Just looking for opinions. I'd love a wireless solution, but what do you consider better performance wise?
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium.
Depends what you want to use it for. If for gaming definitely go wired.
got my media link today, mc3 online works perfect, 1080p movie from sd card works smoothly im not sayin is best device ever but for me is ok.
Don't get a cheap mhl adaptor. I got a cheapy off eBay and it puts the audio ridiculously out of sync.

Buy the monoprice MHL adapter. It's cheap and works perfect. Plus, it's from monoprice so you know it's legitimate.

I had the Medial Link for about 10 days. Used it once on the first day and never used it again. Its great for looking at pictures, but when I was watching Youtube, I had audio sync (i.e. lag) issues. Returned it yesterday.

It depends on what you use it for. The HTC app has the built-in tv guide but the app the OP mentions has other options and is a real universal remote.
It works the same way as the HTC app does. You give in what type of device you want to control (beamer, tv, home cinema, lights, ...), the brand, and if possible a model number. The app then tries some codes untill one works. I actually like this very much. I only use the HTC app for the remote functionality and not for the tv-guide so having this expanded to a lot more devices is interesting to me.
fully worked on samsung n8000
