I am proud to present to you BeanStalk Builds put together by my good friend scott.hart.bti from the Samsung Infuse 4G. This is a build composed off of the CM10.1 builds that he has added alot of features on top of it. So you get speed, stability, and ultra customization ability. Many of the additional code additions came from slim ROM and also Derteufels build and have been modified to work with my current setup. A huge thanks to Derteufel and the Slim ROM guys for their work and dedication. Also a big thanks to everyone involved with CM as that is the building stone in this project. Thanks to skyliner33v for the bootanimation and upcoming wallpapers!
I plan on updating this and adding features on a pretty regular basis, so if you happen to like this, keep checking back.

Trouble Alerts/Workarounds:
Status bar/Notification Drawer - There seems to be a bug with the 4.2.2 status bar/notification drawer freezing. It is happening on numerous phones at random and there is not a fix available yet. Workaround - Numerous ways to workaround this issue, but easiest in my opinion is to go to settings - system settings - PIE - Enable/Disable PIE. This restarts systemUI and unfreezes the status bar.
PIE - PIE seems to be functioning good for the most part, but there is one bug i have noticed. When you first bring the phone out of sleep and unlock it and try to use PIE without doing anything else, it does not show the PIE image until you change a screen. So basically you have to do something first and then it will work fine. Workaround - Settings - Lockscreen - custom lockscreen background - Select any options... it can be Color, transparent, or custom image. As soon as you select one of those options, PIE works perfectly.
***Please keep in mind that this is the initial release and bugs are to be expected. Scott is working on this mostly himself and does not have a team that is helping him. Before reporting bugs, please make sure you verify everything on your end and make sure you do a full wipe and format first to make sure it is a legitimate issue. Im going to say this once and only once... He is doing this for fun and I am building it for this device for fun. It is our CHOICE to share the work with everyone. If you decide that you do not like it, good for you.. Move on and flash something else. I will not tolerate ungrateful people in my thread.***
Instructions
USE CWM by Th3Bill or TWRP
Place ROM onto storage on your device
If you have NOT flashed via Aroma before, use Aroma-Prep (DO NOT report a failed install if you have not done this, as I am letting you know NOW that it might bork if you don't)
Do NOT wipe first
Flash the ROM
Choose Wipe INSIDE the ROM flash (recommend FULL the first time)
Choose storage and tweaks
Select Install
When finished, UN-ckeck reboot box, then click finish. You may get a supposed "failed" error in CWM at this point. Ignore it.
Manually reboot phone.
Install Gapps(Optional...then follow next 3 steps)
Wipe Cache Partition
Advanced/Wipe Dalvik Cache
Reboot

So your interested in Building/Porting for another device?! Follow this guide! **Please make sure to give proper credits and Use the layout i have in the first post.** - If you need assistance, please send me a PM, do NOT post questions in this thread. Scott may open a general porting/building thread in another section depending on how this goes. You must have some general experience/knowledge in this area to complete this. Building from Linux platforms. In particular Ubuntu 10.04
Setup to build - This section can be skipped if youve ever built anything before. This is for first time build setup.
1. From your root terminal location, type the following: sudo apt-get install curl git-core gnupg flex bison gperf libsdl1.2-dev libesd0-dev libwxgtk2.6-dev squashfs-tools build-essential zip curl libncurses5-dev zlib1g-dev sun-java6-jdk pngcrush schedtool g++-multilib lib32z1-dev lib32ncurses5-dev lib32readline5-dev gcc-4.3-multilib g++-4.3-multilib
2. Type: mkdir ~/bin
3. Type: PATH=~/bin:$PATH
4. Type: curl https://dl-ssl.google.com/dl/googlesource/git-repo/repo > ~/bin/repo
5. Type: chmod a+x ~/bin/repo
From terminal
1. type 'cd'. This will bring you to your root folder.
2. type 'mkdir beanstalk'. This will create a folder named beanstalk.
3. type 'cd beanstalk'. This will take you to the beanstalk directory created from previous step
4. type 'repo init -u git://github.com/scotthartbti/android.git -b cm-10.1'. This will setup the folders to be synced.
5. type 'repo sync'. This will sync the folders to your beanstalk directory. Note - This will take some time depending on internet connection. Be patient!
6. After the repo sync finally finishes, all you need to do is add your device, kernel, vendor specific files for the device you are building for. (You must know what these are, dont bother asking me if your not sure.)
7. Make sure all your device specific files are setup as if you were going to build for CM.
8. Outside of terminal, navigate to beanstalk/vendor/cm. Double click on the get-prebuilts file and select run in terminal. This will fetch necessary files needed to build and place them where they need to be.
9. Type '. build/envsetup.sh && brunch "device name"'
10. Previous step will start building beanstalk for your device. The process takes anywhere from 1 - 3 hours depending on your computer.
11. Once completed, it will say package complete and you will have a beanstalk named zip file in your out folder.

Welcome back to the game Bill! Thanks for sharing your work guys! It's great to see fresh options popping up for this device. We all appreciate it.

Thanks
Looking Good

Whoa! Nice work expanding BeanStalk to other platforms then just the Infuse4g. I put alot of work into BeanStalk and hopefully you guys enjoy it.

ROM Works - GApps, not so much
Install of BeanStalk works just fine. However, when I install either of the GApps located here (http://www.androidfilehost.com/?a=show&w=files&flid=2555), my Atrix hangs on the boot screen. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

how can i pull a log?
I will see what I can do. How long should the boot process take once I install GApps? Maybe i'm just getting impatient.

Actually when I install this rom and boot it up it work fine but if I reboot or shutdown then it hangs in bootscreen. So I thin there is some error whit first boot configuration who prevent boot it next time. Please say me if it's wrong.

I was just getting ready to post this same thing. I was able to get GApps installed with a previous version. But upon reboot, it does in fact hang at the Moto Bootscreen.

PACman FAQ
PIE FAQ
Q. What is PIE?
A. PIE is a new way to interact with your notifications. It provides easy gesture based interaction with all your system information without taking up valuable screen space. PIE is what you see in this image.
Q. How do I access Pie?
A. Swipe your finger from the pie gravity edge (default is the bottom) toward the center of your screen. While keeping your finger on the screen, drag your finger to the desired button and release to click.
Q. My PIE doesn't look like the ones in the screenshots. I don't see the Clock or notifications.
A. Notifications work either through the status bar or PIE. If the status bar is enabled, PIE reverts to just the softkeys. To enable the full PIE experience, enable Expanded Desktop by going to Settings -> System -> Power Menu -> Expanded Desktop (Status bar hidden). Access the power menu and turn Expanded Desktop on.
Q. How do I change PIE colors?
A. Go to Settings -> Hybrid Properties -> Interface and change the Navigation bar color.
Q. Buttons or keyboard rows near the edge of my screen are nonresponsive.
A. PIE's trigger area overlay is covering the edge of your screen. Change either the Trigger Area or Pie Gravity in Settings -> System -> PIE Settings.
Q. I don't like PIE, how do I turn it off?
A. To disable PIE set Trigger Area to None in Settings -> System -> Pie Settings. Remember to disable Expanded Desktop to turn status bar on again.
ROM FAQ
Q.Do I need to do a full wipe before installing this ROM?
A. Unless coming from a previous version of PACman it is highly recommended to do a full wipe before installing. This includes coming from ParanoidAndroid ROMs.
Q.What do the settings in Hybrid Properties do?
A. ParanoidAndroid has an extensive guide to the settings at this thread: [GUIDE][PARANOIDANDROID] A Complete Compendium on ParanoidPreferences [PA-Settings] Please do not post questions related to PA Settings in this thread, they are not ROM specific and all we'll do is point you to that thread.
Q.How do I turn on the Navigation Bar??
A.To enable the NavBar open Hybrid Properties, swipe the screen to the right to peek through to the menu.
Select Interface, now set your desired NavBar size with the slider.
Q.Something isn't working. What do I do?
A. First, make sure you are running the latest stable version. Try a backup data using Titanium and do a full wipe reinstall. If the problem persists, report what it is and what triggers it so the dev can duplicate it.
A BIG thank you to IconRunner for putting together the FAQ!! :good:

i have PAC on my xperia z phone and nexus 4. i 100% want it on my z tablet!!!
Been holding out for PA, but this seems to include most of their awesome features. Looking forward to it!

It's great to have you here, @bluefa1con! I'll be following the thread for further updates. Can't wait to try PAC on my XTZ.
as it will take me few days to get the device, i am preparing things before hand
What do u guys prefer for the default UI mode to be?
TabletUI like the default sony firmware or Phablet UI like the Nexus 10?
since we have hybrid engine these modes can be changed any times but thing to keep in mind is that HALO doesnt support tabletUI at the moment
one more thing, you cant change the navbar keys in tabletUI but you can add additional keys or change default keys in phabletUI
Open for suggestions
Congrats on the win! Can't wait to get this!

From what you suggest, I consider Phablet being the most appropiate for default interface, that way we would see and use all features to the fullest right away, and also gives us the chance to change to TabletUI if for some reason we wanted so. Of course, additional input on this might be appreciated, as I haven't tested a PACman TabletUI myself yet. I'm basing my opinion on whay you say, bluefa1con.

If I wanted tablet UI I'd stick with the stock firmware. New "phablet UI" all the way.
No, phablet UI is BS. Pure waste of screen estate.
Congrats on winning a tab. I would like tabletui to b default. A tablet should look like tablet. Thats my opinion. Thnx cant wait to run Pac man on my tab.

Tablet UI all the way. Though if you can change it, i guess the default mode doesn't really matter, it's all about choice
In the name of choice it should be up to the user, rather than a default setting, ask on first run.

And that should be the answer to the debate.
I'm not a dev myself, but I'm curious about how that feature could be implemented. Would it appear only after a full wipe, or after every dirty flash of the same ROM (I think nightlies)?
I'm gonna have to go with Tablet UI.
Google killed the tablet UI and I kind of think it's time to move on. Saves a small amount of screen space, granted, but it doesn't feel how Android should feel to me.
Having said that, the tablet UI clearly has some fans and I'd support it as a default option if that's what most people want. Better choice though would be an Aroma installer with the option there, if that's possible.

Note
If you guys have checked the portal XDA and Sony are giving the PACman team a tablet to port pacman rom. PACman is the fastest growing rom on xda right after CM, AOKP and PA. Our aim to eliminate user's need to hunt for different roms and provide every thing as a single package. We focus on stability, battery friendliness and dynamics of a rom which suits to every type of user. We offer nightly builds and OTAs for our officially supported devices too.
Till i get the tablet i am investigating Sony's way of doing things since its my first sony device. We hope to satisfy your expectations and provide the best rom for Tablet Z.. Porting the rom to tablet Z wont take long since the CM and FXP team have already been working on cm-10.1, I am personally very excited to work on a Sony device. Please dont ask for download links before the rom is complete as I am making this thread as per XDA competition rules to update the Public on the status of the project.

No cant be done a loocked bootloader wont alowe flashing another kernel
If i were you id waite to See if theres going to be more Development on this device roms\kernel etc.
If not maybe its not worth unloocking bootloader (because u void warranty and it cant be reversed) IF theres only going to be cm10.1 its not worth unlocking in my opnion?
Root Is definiatly a 'must' and Can easily be done, then we need a custom kernel to be able to OC to get z running at its Best cpu\gpu frekvens.. 1700\1800mzh or so - then i actually Can live whitout custom roms (Even though id miss Them)
Thats my Humble opinion

I think we need the latest version of Cwm recovery to install this rom

Yeah looks like the updater script is wrong for the recovery we use. I just tried in TWRP and it failed also. I think it's because the recoveries think my phone is C6603 because they are from Xperia Z. The BeanStalk Rom is supposed to be installed in C5502 or C5503 so it fails.
We just need to edit the updater script or get a proper recovery. There are links online through Google on how to update the script. I'll try again later when I have time.

10-6
- Latest kernel improvements from Liquid Smooth which came from HTC.
-Changes in M8 device tree that help overall performance and fixed conflicts with kernel tweaker.
-Checkbox added to disable Notification count
-Miui Like Status Bar carrier label
- Removed a couple of duplicate settings that we had throughout tweaks.
-Moved xposed apps to their own section in BeanStalk Options.
-Added OmniSwitch that is accessible via BeanStalk options, it currently is not able to be set as default for recents but is still handy.
-All latest changes from BeanStalk.
-Also kernel now under clocks to 268 and is over clock able to 2803
Another new build is up and has the same date of 9-24.
-Its has some theme fixes
-Active Display- new features and changes
-New display animations scale in dev menu
- Active Display shake events added.
9-23
- New Search option in settings menu
- Brought in CPU Freq Tile.
- Replaced Omni Performance with Kernel tweaker.
- Working Carrier logo in status bar if the option is selected.
- Call recording.
- Using a new kernel that I forked from Dirty Unicorns and added many options and also took out kernel supported double tap to wake and sweep to wake as we have the ability to sent those in settings/display/screen of gestures
- MMS Settings- Moved Emoji options down to Extra Settings.
- MMS- Made system icon ICS Blue(I'm not a fan of the green.)
- Pressing app icon in apps info screen in settings will launch that app, this was ported from a Xposed module
- Long pressing the Mobile tile will now take you to Mobile Settings instead of Data Usage.
I think that's it but might be missing a few things, github has all the changes listed( and then some as I was all over the place getting these working), but that is the most important ones.
Many thanks to scotthartbti, Dirty Unicorns.

2. Type: mkdir ~/bin
3. Type: PATH=~/bin:$PATH
4. Type: curl https://dl-ssl.google.com/dl/googlesource/git-repo/repo > ~/bin/repo
5. Type: chmod a+x ~/bin/repo
From terminal
1. type 'cd'. This will bring you to your root folder.
2. type 'mkdir beanstalk'. This will create a folder named beanstalk.
3. type 'cd beanstalk'. This will take you to the beanstalk directory created from previous step
4. type 'repo init -u git://github.com/scotthartbti/android.git -b kk44'.
9. Type '. build/envsetup.sh && brunch "device name"'
10. Previous step will start building beanstalk for your device. The process takes anywhere from 1 - 3 hours depending on your computer.
11. Once completed, it will say package complete and you will have a beanstalk named zip file in your out folder.
This is great! Haven't seen Beanstalk since my SGS3. Will definitely flash and report back after I wake up.
I have been running the build he posted a while back an it was awesome...glad to see camera fix.
So I tried flashing the new build it flashed boot an then I had android phone has stopped rt away. I'm excited to see another AOSP rom for this phone. I do have a couple of quick questions.
Will I still be able to run some Verizon apps? As much as I hate bloat, there are a couple of apps that I do need to use to keep an eye on kids data usage.
Also, how about the FM receiver? Will this rom be able to access that?
Thanks for a great looking Rom, and the instructions for making your own. I think that is brilliant!
Any reason why you didn't post here? http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/orig-development
You would probably get more traffic/downloads there. Anyway thanks for the rom, great to have more options use to run this on my GS3.

Yes this rom has AOSP FM also I use Verizon apps like the My Verizon Data Widget. I have a zip that I flash with all the AOSP roms that I install. Would you like me to attach that?
EDIT: Attached the verizon zip that I make on the phone. I update it when there are updates to the My Verizon Data Widget.
I tried to install the fixed version but get an error in Twrp unable to open zip file. Anyone else or just me ?

Deleted and am uploading again.
Sorry stopped it and am starting again. Noticed that Exposed framework was out of date and would not update due to broken signature so update closed framework and app settings apps. They will be also added to repo so will build from now on with newest apps.

I have 2 bugs to report:
1.- In Status Bar, when task manager is active, is displayed, task manager icon is moved to left edge, and battery icon disappear from screen.
2.- In Quick Settings, HotSpot icon isn´t shown. I can see it in edit mode, but when "Done" I can´t see it anymore

I know about the task manager issue.. Should be fixed in the upcoming updates. I am aware of the hotspot issue as well, Just try to activate Data and then see if it shows up automatically.. It might be "hidden" because of WiFi being active.
This is just a hunch. It could also be a software issue as well!

I´ll try, but I think I´ve tried WiFi off and MobileData on.
One of the best MM Rom for Moto G, in my opinion. No problem with viper4android or xposed, a lot of customization possible. What I miss or oversaw is the option to remove the brightness slider from quick settings.
Moreover, I found one issue; namely swiping left/right on the lockscreen doesn't activate shortcuts.

HI, thanks for this beatiful ROM. I just flashed it on my xt1039 and it works pretty good. I just encountered some bugs:
1. GApps couldn't install when I tried the stock version. TWRP said there's not enough storage space. Pico version worked but there were some serious issues with it - after installation and reboot system couldn't start after optimizing apps. It worked only after wipe and factory reset. (Sorry, I didn't note what message it was giving me exactly, but I'm pretty sure it was something about setup manager that couldn't start. The message box overlayed system and I was able to dismiss it by pressing "OK", but it kept re-appearing after some 0.5 seconds).
2. I can't add power button to navigation bar. After adding it and saving it says "system UI has stopped" and locks screen.
3. I can't assign any app to work on menu button long press. I had the screen locker there in my previous ROM (debloated 5.1 ROM by lost101). Is there any way to do it? (Double tap to screen lock does the job anyway).
4. I couldn't import Lightning Launcher backup from Android 5.1. It only restored my wallpaper, but no other desktop settings
Cheers

To answer all your queries..
1. You can install Micro GApps and lower only. As our phone doesn't have enough System Storage space, this leads to some problems, If you want other Google Apps, download them from Play Store or use the Aroma Version of Open Gapps. For the other issues. Its written on the OP that you have to wipe system, data, and caches to install the ROM, to update it, just simply flash the ROM zip and wipe caches and you're good to go!
2. Regarding System UI, as we all know Marshmallow is still young and development will continue to improve this in future updates.
3. Again.. See Point Number 2
4. I can't provide support for 3rd Party Apps. Ask the Action Launcher developers, I can say that maybe the app is not fully compatible with Marshmallow so bugs and issues will arise!
Hope I helped!! Cheers Mate!

I have found the answer to my self ?, swiping on the lockscreen works only when shortcut icons are dragged. On cm12.1 just swiping left or right was enough. But I am fine with that.
The 01/02 build is buggy on my device when dirty flashed (not tried a clean install). It gives many FCs, status bar icons and quick tiles are distorted. I didn't check for more issues just restored the previous version. Anyone with the same problems?

Glad to hear you solved the issue yourself.. Can you try reinstalling it cleanly to make sure it's not an issue on my end. You're the only one I hear with this issue in the last build. I'll be building an update soon, but please confirm first!
And Guys.. As my classes have started now at University, I'll be building once a week, probably on weekends from now on!

I can try a clean install, cannot say exactly when, though. Let say, within 3 days.
I got a weird issue. Been using latest rom since yesterday and everyhting works fine except calling and texting, neither of them works. If I try to send a message a toast says it's not been sent and that I get the error 42. When I try to call I just get a single beep then it hungs up. I can receive both voice and sms fine though. I've tried setting new APN but no luck there. I have googled for error 42 but can't find anyrhing.

Did you clean install? If not then try that or use one of the previous builds. I'll update the ROM this Saturday. Hopefully the bugs will be gone by then

Hello.
Thanks for another ROM, the more the better.
I'm wondering, you said you built a custom kernel, what are the kerne's features?
More specifically does it have KCAL?
Thanks again!

I have the same question, but more general regarding the kernel. What have you tweaked? More performance related or battery related tweaks?
Thanks for the time taken!
I just flashed and everything looks good ... But the whites are yellowish ... How can I play Whit the colors Whit any kernel auditor ?

I think you checked live display? If yes and still yellowish, install kernel from @Kranoner and set Harley-Tech from screen settings on kernel auditor. Also you can try others too.
You can see here for all kernel changes and modifications, https://github.com/EmotionOS/android_kernel_zte_msm8996/commits/nougat
I found it ... Thanks it's looking great just substratum it's not applying for some reason

If you have Magisk there is a Substratum module in the download section that may help. You could also try going into developer options and turning on force enable color engine and see what happends. I don't use Substratum so I didn't even think to test that lol. So many days of developing stuff like that slips by me.
I always had issue with Radio Stability issues on all Custom Roms. Radio disconnects n re connects frequently. This ROM also behave same way or is this good as Stock? Someone please comment
Looks great so far ... Trying to set it up ... I just can't find how to change the navigation keys ???

You can download this file https://www.dropbox.com/s/2j782oxxoum41mw/synaptics_dsx.kl?dl=0 go to system --> usr --> keylayout delete existing one and replace with the one downloaded and set permissions.
Or you can do it a manual way
1. Use root browser and go to system --> usr --> keylayout
2. Open synaptics_dsx.kl
3. Scroll all the way down and you will see
APP_SWITCH
BACK
4. Switch the locations, meaning change APP_SWITCH to BACK and BACK to APP_SWITCH
5. Save and reboot
Just installed this.
I'm happy to see that this ROM does not have the speakerphone bug! Well done.
My first few suggestions/issues are:
1) add Location easy toggle
2) Data easy toggle is not working (whether on or off in Notification Drawer settings) - it opens a second windows and you have to toggle it on/off
2) in hardware button assignments (Home, recents, back buttons), the option (long press or double tap) to pull down notifications is missing - some ROMs have a much more extensive list of options (quicksettings, notificaitons, etc...)
I'll add comments as I discover things.
Thanks for your work!
EDIT1: by the way, GPU frequency stays at 214, instead of going to 133, eventhough KA, in the overview screen indicates 133, on the GPU page, it shows 214. Checking with EXKM, I see that the GPU Initial Frequency is set at 214. Changing it to 133 fixes this. The latter setting does not seem to be available through KA.
EDIT 2: I have only seen this issue once on another ROM (can't remember which one), but volume down control from a headset does not work (on the stock player, Neutron, youtube via browser). Up volume control works. Both up and down work with the physiscal volume buttons on the phone.
Thanks.. The rom works great.. I only have one problem. Substratum doesn't work.. It doesn't ask for root permissions and doesn't apply the temes...
Regards

Gave the ROM an initial go around (installed as a third in a multiboot setup).
Other than the aforementioned Substratum issue everything seems a-ok. It feels most similar to AOKP to me.
When I first tried Music via a Bluetooth speaker the volume was extremely low. A reboot fixes that up though.
Oh, selecting Pulse causes Settings to crash. On this first test I didn't have a log app to capture the crash. Man, I wish Andy Log worked on Nougat. Its Last Crash feature was great.
