Xperia Z 3D Album - Xperia Z Themes and Apps

Just noticed there's a 3D Album feature on the Xperia Z, opens .mpo 3d pictures but obviously no 3D effect. Is that only installed by mistake I wonder or did Sony put in the wrong type of display into the Z ?

That app is meant to be there, Sony has always had that app, even on old phones like xperia arc. I'm pretty sure it's for when you take a 3d panorama with the 3d camera, you can then connect it to a 3d tv and see a 3d image. I don't really know how all of that works but that is just my understanding.

Yes, it will show 3D pictures on a 3D TV

X8gesture and ax8mt module on stock X8 and W8

I was able to install them on my friend's x8 but it seems it only works on multitouch digitizer and games but not on browser and pictures. What must I do enable it? my friend's x8 is cypress
Thats because the stock apps were not designed to support multitouch. For photos, a great app would be QuickPic. As for the browser, any browser from the market would do.

[Q] When does the Sony Bravia Engine 2 work?

Searched online came out empty.
When does the engine2 work?? YouTube videos? Movies that I add to the phone?
Any pictures or videos that are viewed in the Sony Album app perhaps?
THanks!

It works when viewing pics on the album, watching movies with the standard video player. It also works on youtube and with some 3rd party video players that support hardware decoding, such as MX player
It also should be noted that when you unlock your bootloader, you also lose BE.

As stated before videos, pics and supported 3rd party players. you can notice the effect if you open one of the standard sony pics from the widget. it opens it up and then changes the color nocitebly

Stop "Throwing" to Blu Ray Player

Just got my XZ and was playing around in the album. I decided to have a look at the Throw menu option and was pleased to see an option for my Blu Ray Player. So I press it and it ends my viewing of Game of Thrones but then links perfectly via wifi
However, I can't disable this and each time I view something "Throwable" it again interrupts my Game of Thrones How can I stop this now? Short of restarting the phone, as I'm trying to run the battery down to then get a full charge.

Settings -> Xperia -> Throw settings
Perfect
Kinda off topic but, would it be possible to remove just some of the Sony software while keeping others? Or if I were to download a debloated rom, could I then put back some small items like this "Throwing" to Sony devices?
Or does the Sony suite all act together?
I know the media remote for Blu Rays is available in the market, but what of the other stuff?
Any feedback would be appreciated

Haha I happened to do this while my kids we're watching a blue ray, they wasn't impressed

Haha, we just have to press buttons...
Were we able to do this because our Blu Ray players are Sony? Or is it a standard like dlna?
Also, did you try mirroring your screen? Mine wouldn't connect. On the videos they showed pairing via nfc to a bravia remote, but I don't have a bravia tele so I was hoping to do it via the Blu Ray player.

You'd be amazed how much Sony is contributing to Android in terms of DLNA...
Even on the current android tablets, you can use them as a wifi keyboard to type in the Tv screen, etc
Not only tablets, you can download Sony Media Remote on any android device and use it to type I used it to YouTube stuff on my Blu Ray player on my old x10

Xperia Play live wallpaper

Hey everyone, I seem to be having difficulty using the Xperia play live wallpapers on the Xperia z... After installation they just display really awful purple blocks instead of the lwp...
Was wondering if anyone else experienced this issue as well? I figure it's just incompatible, but I want to be sure.
Thanks in advance

Well I´ve tried so many things. I even was able to install the playstation pocket app. But it displays everything not optimized. Of course because it uses another Resolution. If you want a cool Wallpaper with those Ps3 PSP Styles then use this app from Google Play. The Ps3 Theme is definitely the best one. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=wave.paperworld.wallpaper&hl=en

Will 3d movies really be "3D" if I play them trough the phone?

I recently bought a 3D tv and was wondering if I connect the phone and play a downloaded 3D movie, will it be fully fledged 3D or do I need a 3D DVD player to get the full experience?

well , i believe you just need the display to be 3D compatible. Even if it won't work via phone , there are plenty of 3D players available for PC which would make your task easier.
