[Request] CM10.1 MMS.apk - Xperia Z Themes and Apps

Hi guys, just moved over to the Z from the S3 and I love it. It's even the first time I've liked the default MMS app on a phone however Sony's MMS app does not support emoji icons or pop up messages so im wondering if any of the awesome devs could get the CM10.1 MMS.apk on the Z? I had it running Freda on the S3. I would be ever grateful

Someone pls advise if the lockscreen and email apps can be replaced with the ones from CM JB?
The CM email app supports non-standard exchange server port and the stock CM lockscreen supports shortcuts to dialer etc. I do know abt the 3rd party apps out there, but would really like to replace those permanently...

This pop up notification miss me:crying:

Can I suggest an app and an addon?
Hi, a (at least temporary solution) is to use a different app,
I've been using GO SMS Pro with Emoji Plugin for a while now (shows and can use iPhone emoji icons )
It also has text popups which I find insanely useful
Go SMS Pro:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jb.gosms
Emoji Plugin:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jb.gosms.emoji
In addition, you can find a theme that you like the look of too
I think Handcent does this too, but I've never used it for very long (didn't like it too much)
Handcent:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.handcent.nextsms
Emoji Plugin:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.handcent.plugin.emoji
Hope this helps some people, at least temporarily?
- Jack

Here it is (taken from FXP211).
Works perfectly for me. Just copy it to /system/app (don't forget the permissions - 644/rw-r--r--).
Oh yeah, delete (or better backup somewhere) Conversations.apk from /system/app to remove the Sony mms app.

Rotate pic in mms or facebook?

When sending pics as mms or posting to facebook with the fb app, it is not possible to torture them if needed. Am I correct?

don't believe there is any option for it no..only way is to go through the gallery and rotate them there before you send them...
Yeah it sucks

buzz too ...
So we are stuck without a solution? Does handcent solve this for mms?

yeah, that fixed landscape upload thing, annoys the hell out of me, too.
Is there a "bug" thread about this ovewr at Google Code somewhere?
You have to crop it before, then you will be able to upload in landscape
Of course, will lose quality, but it's the easy solution so far
Yeah, what about editing (rotating) the photo in an application like PicSay or that mobile Photoshop... then upload/send to facebook/mms?
Anyone going a solution to this? I tried Tweetdeck, but the same problem there. Any other app that can solve this?
Does anybody know if this annoying quirk has been fixed in GB on the NS?
EDIT: Actually I found a work around: Install PicSay and export to Facebook or MMS from inside that app and it will kepp the correct mode (landscape/portrait). Not a 100% fix, but doable!

[Q] sorting SMSs in the messaging app of Xperia Z after restoring them..

Hello guys..
actually am facing this problem right now on my C6602 Xperia z..
I used the "sms backup & restore" to restore my msgs..
I can't say it's completely unsorted, it is sorted somehow, but not in the correct way..
Did you get what am saying? Can anyone of you plz help? How to sort my SMSs by date lets say chronologically??
Thanks a lot...
Sadly, I do not think this is possible.
Kind regards, Stefan.
I had the same issue when restoring to the stock messaging app but I downloaded Pansi SMS and magic all my messages were instantly sorted.

Well thank you, this worked.. But it's a completely different application than the android's one! Can anyone find a way to "refresh" the messages conversations??
Guyyyyyssssssss?????
Same problem for me. I use SMS Backup+ which worked perfectly on my previous phones (Samsung Galaxy S3, Note and Note 2). Restoring on the Xperia works fine but the messages in each thread are in random order.
I was hoping the new JB update for XP would solve this problem. No, it doesn't.
I use Titanium Backup PRO to backup my messages and upon restoration, they're all sorted out perfectly.
Do invest in this nifty little tool as you can use it to back up almost everything in your phone.
Titanium Backup needs root.
I am on a Mac (but I am guessing Sony's Windows software should do the same) and I use Sony Bridge (PC Companion) to back up and restore my SMS/MMS - it's actually flawless and faster than SMS Backup/Restore - no out of sequence messages either

Quick reply 4.2.2

It's missing in Sense 4.2.2?
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
I thought quick reply was something implemented by CyanogenMod?
A lot of 4.2.2 stuff is missing from Sense 4.2.2. Like lock screen widgets for example.
Stock messaging app won't have it. Only apps that I know that allow this are sliding messaging (not sure if you need pro or not) and Textra which I'm currently using. I'd still be on sliding messaging pro but it can get a bit sluggish at times. Textra is really really smooth

CM mms.apk

I pushed the cm10.1 apk to system/app fixed permissions and everything works good. Except for sending pictures it just stays on sending and it never sends. I can receive just not send. Anyone know how could I fix it or there's no fix?
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I'm guessing you're saying the CM10 MMS apk? If so, see if you can customize the MMS settings. The settings you want to look for should configure what server the messages go over. I'm not too sure if that setting is within the app itself.
I know I had to do this on an AT&T phone like some years ago. I'm not too sure where you would find these "settings". I'm sorry I couldn't be more specific. I think what you want to search is Tmo MMS Settings, or something of that sort.
But like I said, I think that's already handled outside the app, but you can still look.
Yeah its the cm10.1 mms apk I want to use and not the sense mms apk. I checked in the settings but can't seem to find anything. When I switch it to the sense mms the pictures work fine. But then I push the cm10.1 apk and pictures don't send

It's a framework issue. Since cm10.1 uses 4.2 it handles MMS differently since it supports group messages. You'll need to mess with the framework, or find somebody who can, to get it working.

Unfortunately, this does not seem possible because touchwiz and its associated components all use different libraries, different frameworks, and various other complex components of the Android operating system that Samsung customizes. In most cases, its not possible to take a system apk from one ROM and just drop it into another ROM, and expect it to work. It may force close, or exhibit some other strange behavior. Sometimes, you can get a developer to change and modify libraries or frameworks to get the app to work, but it is a tremendous amount of work to convert these kinds of things. All this being said, if you want an app from a different ROM to work, it doesn't hurt to try to push apps to /system, as I've had some luck pushing apk's to system, fixing permissions and getting them to work fine. Hopefully, you can find an app equivalent to the Touchwiz SMS app that works just as well, if not better!
Thanks for answering so fast
Wich SMS app do you think would ne good

I just use the stock Cyanogenmod SMS app included in Tonyp's CM10.2 Build, but I've heard good things about Handcent available from the Play Store, and I believe the GO Team has their own application for SMS too, but if you want to see a variety of options, I suggest googling for a list of messaging apps and seeing which one you like best.
