[Q] Stock ROM-UnLocked-Rooted with S-On.I Want To De-bloat Help. - HTC Vivid, Raider, Velocity

Ok im running stock ICS on my vivid and im wanting to get rid of all the AT&T junk.I Tried freezing some with titanium backup but it says i have to donate to freeze the apps.I want them gone not just frozen. It gives me the option to delete but i can't find a list of things that are safe to remove anywhere.Im running the stock htc_vivid_att_RUU_3.26.502.56_R23_US.Is there a tool that will do this anywhere?Or i can do it manually but it would be great if i had a complete list of things to remove without causing errors..I was running some custom ROMS but came back to stock due to in-call volume issues. Thanks in advance.

If you use titanium back up pro which I highly suggest you can remove system apps yes you have to pay but imho it is worth it. That will be the easiest way probably but be carefull and only remove apps that are not needed. There are system apps that are needed and if you remove them you can run into a world of hurt
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using xda app-developers app

anything branded At&T should be completely safe to remove. any other programs you want to remove just make sure you have a back up in Titanium (incase deleteing/uninstalling it does mess something up).
edit: Root uninstaller is free and will uninstall anything, and always make sure you have a back up of anything you cant stand to loose(just in case)

Just flash one of the debloated roms on the forum, no need for you to go one by one wondering if its safe or not.
sent from my HTC VIVID Sense4.1+ 4.0.4

And as long as you have the ROM zip and twrp you can put it all back

infact i suggest to always have a rom zip on your phone, just in case.

[Q] HELP!!!!

Ok, so I have a rooted Nexus One with cyanogen 6.0rc3 on it. I recently tried to put cyanogen 6.1 on it so I could upgrade to 7.0. Then, I see the common glitch where there is no market so I revert back to my old rom which I made a backup for(using ROM Manager). So here comes the hard part, when it restores my ROM, have no apps, no nothing which I downloaded, and I tried to restore again, because ROM Manager reinstalled, but I didn't get anything. Can some tell me how to get my data and all my stuff back, please?!?!?!?! If I don't get help by the end of the month, my service gets cut off, so I really need help!!!! Please help guys, thanks in advance, you guys are the bomb!!!!

What's that supposed to mean? You lose service because you don't have the data on your phone restored?
Are you using apps2sd?
I feel like you have no chance of restoring anything at the moment though.
If you have a custom recovery, just wipe and start again, or restore your backup... Make sure you have a gapps package that is compatible with your ROM...

All your apps will be in the market under 'my apps' and as long as you have synched with Google servers all your data should be retrieveable by re-synching.

You don't need to go to cm6.1 to get to cm7. Even on 6.1 you need to do a full wipe anyway to eliminate any potential problems.
Also did you happen to use CWM 3.0?

I tried that, too, not all of my apps restored, and my data would be gone on them anyway

Questions before I upgrade to ICS

Okay so I have a HTC Velocity and the ICS update has dropped (YAAAAY!)
1. If I install ICS, can I still get root?
2. If I backup all my **** from gingerbread using titanium (besides the sense settings) will all the apps just restore all good, or do I need to start over with all my games (PLEASE!)
3. I'm planning on reverting back to stock and then doing the update OTA, I'm thinking this is the most sensible way to achieve the update, once I get the ICS installed, can I still install clockwork recovery?
Thanks for any help!
1. PG did released the rooted ICS version for Velocity
2. No - apps backed up from GB don't work for ICS, you can try but it might mess up your system.
3. Yes, look in the development section there should be a thread [DEV] for Clockwork Recovery for ICS.
Hope that answered all your questions.

I'm gonna have to disagree with the app/games part there. Otherwise I woulda been pissed bout losing my world in Minecraft
Just think, if HTC released an OTA update that "broke" all of your apps people would be flipping out at HTC, Google, and the App Devs and the whole world would explode into rage; apps were ICS ready since December if not sooner. If you run some legacy apps (final versions that havent been updated in who knows how long) then use you could have some issues.
Ill give em a crack
I usually restore all apps with no data then go back into TB and restore just data for a few specific apps. Works fine for me.

I do the same... Other times where I've installed all, with data, in some cases I've encountered dramas, but by just doing a few necessities it's been fine

Well... I solved the problem anyway... doing a wonderful job of paying complete lack of attention to the process I erased everything on my internal SD card anyway... including my titanium backup and all that fun stuff.... *sigh*
now I have rooted ICS though
but the launcher has no text outputting on the icons and clock... so I dont think I will be too attached to this build hah

Firmware Update help!

Ok guys, my Sensation XL is currently on Android 2.3.5, and I'm trying to update the firmware to the newest. But my phone is rooted! I downloaded that OTA RootKeeper app and activated it before starting the whole updating process, but for the past...I'd say half hour it's been sitting on the screen with the triange and the Droid mascot. So, does that mean it's slowly working? Or is it just going to sit here until I decide to unplug the phone and give up? I wanna update my phone because there are apps where I need the latest firmware, but I like the freedom of having a rooted phone so I can delete what I dont want and so on.
How long should this update take? Since it is kind of updating a ****load X3 Also, if this doesnt work, I wanna do a complete stock reboot of the phone then try updating the firmware, but I dont wanna loose all my apps, save data, contacts and so on D: Plus will the bloatware I deleted using my root return with a vengeance if I do a Factory Restart? Help me out here, guys D:

If it took longer than 5 minutes, then it is bootlooping. Unlock boot loader, flash custom recovery, s off, flash a custom rom. Then you can have latest, but no matter what, you will loose all your data on the phone except what's on the inbuilt sdcard. Note the contacts are usually synced with you gmail login.

X3 Also, I dont have a clue on how to do any of what you just said. X3

There does exsist some apps that can take backup of apps. Look in the sticky threads for guides or you can do it with my aio tool if you are running on a 64 bit windows.

It cant create backup of apps only. It can only create a full backup.
Yes ATM it can only work on 64 bit. Need to change a few thing before it works on 32 bit

I found some good looking ways of updating to the latest firmware, but since I'm a newb I cant actually link them to you so you could give them the thumbs up I'm just getting so tired of having a crappy ass old firmware on my phone now T_T plus I'm hoping the new firmware could fix a few problems. I'm half tempted to just backup my contacts and just factory reboot my whole phone...and live with it not being rooted until the end of my contract. Should I just give up and do that? XD

Stock HTC ROM

I flashed the stock htc rom i downloaded from here and then got titanium backup and uninstalled a bunch of apps i was never going to use, like the original internet, email and kid mode apps) and they keep reinstalling themselves. What am i missing and how do i make them disappear forever?

He is rooted, otherwise Titanium Backup wouldn't have worked for him in the first place. I could be wrong, though.
Personally I'd rather remove all apps I don't want or need rather than freeze them ... There's **** on my phone that I just want gone completely and not just disbaled or frozen, Facebook integration and Blinkfeed would be gone straight away lol

I have not tried removing system applications using TitaniumBackup on my HTC One, to be honest with you, and I am running stock, non-rooted and odexed 4.2.2 which I am going to root in a few. I think the only option you have at the moment is to freeze them until you can figure something out. The only other option I could think of is installing a custom ROM which I believe lets you delete them without having to worry about them coming back, like TrickDroid, for instance.
Tried to dl that app yet? I had the same prob when running stock for a while. Sorted my issues.

is there a way to run stock and remove bloat?

ive been trying out firekat and dynamickat. they're alright, but i get random reboots.
battery on stock was ~7hrs. these customs are only getting me 6.
im going back to stock soon, but i wonder if i can just take off the bloat. is there a tutorial or zip file that i can install to remove that?
Flash stock rom via odin then root using CF autoroot and then delete the apps you don't use.

You would be by far better off to go into applications manager and simply
disable apps you feel or think are bloatware, that way they would not be
using any resources at all and if you by error disable an app and find out
later that the app is needed or required you can simply enable it again.
Good luck!
Use Titanium Backup and freeze/uninstall anything.
