Any way to get some sort of Application like S-Note on HTC One? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The Samsung Note 2 has a great S Note application where one can write notes and add pictures on there along with Audio Notes. Is there something similar to this application that is available or can be added to the HTC ONE? Is there one that comes with it or is there a way to get one similar to the one that comes with the Samsung Note 2 on there?
Instead of just having a basic note application where one can just types notes with no pictures or no audio. Anyone here able to help with this?

Evernote is an application that requires you to save everything on their server. No privacy this way and you have to upload and download everything from them every time you need something. Last but not least they charge you for storage space and you do not have the option to only keep info on your device only if I am not mistaken. Would prefer an application just like the one on on the Samsung Note 2 called the S-Note.
Thanks for your input though

Permissions and privacy invasions are like that of Evernote. That Toggle sync pretty much gives them control over turning and over riding your sync options meaning if you turn sync off they can turn it on and sync if they want to.

Fairly confident that s-note is the same way, but you don't really see it since its already installed on your phone.

Yeah SNote syncs with your Samsung/SCloud account so everything is saved on Samsung's servers.
EDIT: S Note's permissions :

4

The only permission it isn't granted is 'Sleep with your wife/significant other' then?

Is that an option to sync with Samsung/SCloud or a must like Evernote? I did not know that all of the SNotes were synced to the Samsung Cloud Servers.

Dumb question probably, but happen's when you push that notifcation? Browser opens up?
I typed in WonderWall and found and found an app called MSN WonderWall (Wonderful Wall magazine) and went ahead and installed it. Not sure if that's your culprit.

Quick Uninstaller seems to be the culprit according to this.
This happened to me too recently, thought it was a fluke but after seeing this it reminded me. I dont have quick uninstaller so its not the only one doing it.
Are either of you guys using chrome 2 phone firefox extension, or any programs of that type?
Hmmm....I hope this isn't a security thing with C2DM.

Nope, you have to download chrome 2 phone. It's why I asked if you're using the firefox extention. That's not writting by the chrome 2 phone people and you don't know what's happening on their end.
The c2dm api is present, but you have to have an app installed to receive the intent.
In the Chrome 2 Phone combo, your browser extension sends the intent to the Chrome 2 Phone app, and the app displays the notification.
I can right a "happy buttons" app that I tell you displays happy faces, and that's all you think it does, however I can send ad notifications through the C2DM api and have it show a notification like the one you guys are seeing. All without the Chrome 2 Phone extention/apk combo.

No, no, I wasn't implying froyo came with chrome2phone, but that practically every froyo user has installed this and if it what chrome2phone, this would have been more widespread.

[Q] Alternative to HTC Sync Manager for syncing OS X contacts & calendar?

Hi all,
I had been relying on the (awful) HTC Sync Manager for syncing my OS X calendar (iCal) and contact (Address Book). Music and photo syncing is a done deal via other means (DoubleTwist and DropBox).
I'd continued to use this solution since rooting, S-OFF, and even changing the kernel, without any issue (other than the software being slow as sh*t!). Since moving from stock ROM to ARHD though, HTC Sync Manager crashes out when I plug in the phone, the underlying error being 'attempt to insert nil value (key: HTCSenseVersion)'. Curiously, in Settings->About->Software Information under HTC Sense Version it does list '5.0' which, IIRC, is what the stock ROM shows there too.
Now then, I do not wish to move to Google Calendar and Contacts (my Google account was created solely to get this phone going - I do not use Gmail) and the file formats (and names, natch) are different between OS X and Android so simply syncing the folders containing the database files won't work. I run OS X 10.6.8 so iCloud & SmoothSync is not an option either (nor would I wish to rely on Apple's latest attempt at a cloud service!!).
I've done a ton of searching both within these forums and more generally on the 'net, but all answers come back to one or other of the two solutions above, neither of which can work for me.
So then, can anyone suggest either:
- which file/key in Android's filesystem stores 'HTCSenseVersion' such that I can poke in a value?
- or (better) suggest a method for syncing contacts and calender with OS X that doesn't involve the execrable HTC Sync Manger software at all?
Thanks for any thoughts/similar experiences/suggestions,
Ian
It's really strange problem, maybe you can resolve this contacting mike
However, i will advice you to use the GCalendar and GContact.

Thanks, yes I think I'll try that. Clearly HTC store 'HTC Sense Version' in more than one place, and ARHD doesn't maintain all of them.

[Q] Can't find "about" in settings

I am sure I am missing the obvious. Came from a Samsung phone. I'm trying to find the location of "Settings>about" to see my software version. I touch the little wheel "settings". But from there there is no "about" to touch.
TIA
The very last option at the bottom??

I'm pretty sure you're going to need root to use that method.
No root required to disable apps. However, to remove them, then the phone needs to be rooted.

Subject line of the thread linked says Root not required, but sure!
Tried it out just now, thanks for linking it @blkghost22, I've been trying to find a way to disable certain things and this did it!
Stock Music app sometimes comes up when I connect my phone to the car via Bluetooth, and there wasn't any easy way to disable it
I also recommend going to Filter, typing ATT, and disabled all that crap too - I've done everything except Knox, Remote Support, and Usage manager.... someone needs to come up with a safe list of apps to disable to debloat this device, it would be very helpful!
Will this let me disable stuff like the built in browser? Because there are some aid that the phone just won't let you disable which I find really dumb.

Okay, I can't read. I'm sending thanks X 2 to Charlotte, NC.
I'm at 55 apps disabled so far, and I don't think I'm being all that aggressive with disabling TW / Samsung / ATT features..... Anyone know of a good safe list for this phone yet where we can really speed this thing up? Not like it really needs it, but there's lots of hidden crap on it running we know about but haven't been able to disable previously

Honestly, and I appreciate you looking to me for advice, I don't think I'm the best one to go off of, I know that nothing I've disabled was going to crash my phone, but it's all that TW / Samsung / ATT features like I was saying - the program allows you to filter by text used, even if in the middle of a package name, and that helped a few times tracking down some odd APKs
I read on Forbes that the S6 has 56 apps of bloatware on it, and I'm at 55 disabled apps, with a lot of TW / Samsung / ATT features still running, so most likely that was a list of what they could see from the app drawer or something....
Nothing from me. Just wanted to see if people actually tried it. If it worked then go thank the dev or programmer of that debloating app.
