[request][rom][4.2.2] [aokp] - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi now that doomsday don't have the possibilities anymore to update the 4.2.2 AOKP I just I wanna to see if some developer can do that.
I don't want to make you guys work more that you can because you made a great job for our device.
So if someone can really do that would be awesome

Hey, I really thought about working on AOKP, but the thing is I'm kind of a noob in developing and I'm trying very hard to get a SuperNexus build. If any experienced dev can help me out with this and I'm successful, then maybe I'm gonna give AOKP a try. But it could be difficult because I'm gonna be pretty busy at school during the next few weeks.
Anyway, I might not be the right guy for this, but it would be a great challenge for me
Btw, when you have a request again, please post it in the q&a/req thread because that's what that is there for. I know it's hard to get attention there, but it should help to keep the dev section free from something like that which some people might call spam.

I am proud. Thanks deeperblue.

Post your thanks here. The nook color (an EBOOK READER).has an os (honeycomb) that is not running on the nexus s and google hasnt even released yet. That is just amazing. Thanks deeperblue. You need to start making posts to post in development And you should post your source code so others can help you out with getting the stuff working. At xda, many of us would be happy to help. And again, thank you so much for getting this up and running.

And also, just cuz im curious, could you adb a benchmark and test it?

Thanks DB!!!!
Really a benchmark this soon
Asking for a benchmark this early in the build is like test driving a car with no tires yet. Let him get a few more things up an running.
I wanna see his code and help develop this, but he insists in doing it by himself.

ITs rediculus that other threads containing almost the same kind of similarity get popular you know, but posting this, you guys really dont give me a chance which is pretty crappy. And maybe it would be a successful thread if you gave it a chance, simlpy just ignorance right here. Give a guy a chance instead of rushing to shut something down thats for a good cause..

Maybe we can have a successful thread if you wouldnt be in such a hurry to shut something down, get out of here. Nobody cares what YOU wanna have.
Screenshots of how we setup our themes? Wtf?
And There are plenty of home screen threads.
...this msg was sent via nexus s with jelly bean...
where are all this this noob came from anyway? damn!
How about we just get to the point of the thread instead of continuous arguing about the thread itself, jeeze. You guys are seriously idiots. Heres an idea, if you can say anything nice, or talk about something relevant to the thread, then you dont belong here. clean and simple
Thankyou.
"Theme chooser screenshots" is a confusing thread title - you want screenshots of the theme chooser app? Don't quite get it dude.
You should change the title to "Favorite Theme Chooser Themes" or something similar. It'll help reduce the hate from these other members a little

The week after the jellybean announcement and source code drop probably isn't the best time to start a thread like this lol.
Once I'm running a JB ROM with theme chooser support I'll post some screens

I'm already running hp420's jb ROM, but between those two, I'd have to say CM just because of the sheer number of devs they have behind them.

Im running the same rom, but im having battery issues, its only charging to like 96 and says full, i did a full whipe of everything.
And cyanogenmod probobly would get jelly bean done. Probobly with less bugs hopefully.
96 is fully charged.

Get out of here then? Im sorry if your not interested. I really dont care. If you want to call me a noob then okay? Do you feel like a bigger person if you call me a noob and say my thread is boring, thats very cool.
Anyways.. :good:
What is wrong with users these days. Rather than try and help each other, you all jump on the bashing bandwagon.
Simply put if all you want to do is bash/troll/flame you are not welcome on XDA. You all should know better.

Yes, support should start from Cyanogenmod 10 or possibly 10.1 but take note that it may be buggy at first release..noone knows for sure yet how it will turn out

I still wish there's an ICS build for this device. JB is great but for compatibilities sake of older apps which aren't maintained anymore I also want an ICS or GB build or both

Well I guess you'll be out of luck for all new phones in that case. I'm not even sure there are drivers for ICS available for the APQ8064. Qualcomm had it running on their reference platform quite a while ago, but all devices with an APQ8064 were brought to market with Jelly Bean.

So because you've got apps that you can't be bothered replacing, that aren't maintained any more because the devs can't be bothered... you expect sony to release a totally different OS for their phone? Or, how about you just find replacement apps, or pester the lazy devs into updating. This is totally not an issue from Sony,.,,, just lazy app devs.

I did say I only wished for it. Never demanded or at the very least ask for it so no biggie with that. Also you can't bother any dev who decided to discontinue support for their apps so yeah pretty much either getting newer alternatives or live without those apps. Some of the noteable apps I was saying was the chainfire 3d and flash player. So good luck bothering adobe for asking to continue flash for jellybean and about chainfire? There are hundreds of android users who asked him to make chainfire 3d work for ICS and above but he said it's just too hard or worse not possible and most of all you can't say they're lazy devs.

Who want FlymeOs?

Hi there,
Big news, in a few days me and gabreek planing start port FlymeOS, 'cause some ace users love it and the old thread by ewmno is stopped.
Hope you can hold for it a few more days
Cheers,
TomorrowLand_Ace.
You should seriously start working before you create a new thread.
I would quite like to have it, but it's quite hard to port so good luck

Don't spam the forum by posting threads like who want that rom. Everyone loves to see new roms. You already posted a thread saying that you will make a sgs4 themed rom but never released it. So my advice is that post a thread only when you are ready

AOKP

I am currently working on compiling AOKP for our phone. I will keep you guys updated in my process. Hopefully if things go smoothly, I'll have a working ROM to upload sometime this week.

Man I would love this!!!!! Recently had to get this phone cause I switched carriers. Coming from a Note 2 is a little of a shock. A nice rom would ease the transition. Thanks in advance for the hard work.......
no I'm not happy to see you, it's just a Note 2 in my pocket
Looking forward to this!

I would absolutely absolutely absolutely love you if you could get AOKP on this phone. Life would be perfect and glorious.
AOSP style roms are desperately needed on this phone., I love this device but hate the lack of development for it. I wish I was more talented with technology or I would try cooking something up myself. Anyway's I'm looking forward to your progress good man and I will be following your post's diligently.
What's the update here? It's cool with me if things are still "two weeks" away. But whether or not it's still actually happening would be nice to know. I'm just hoping that Zombienaut still wants to make this happen.
On a similar vein, if one were a complete newb, does anyone know how that person could learn enough to be able to tweak AOKP for addition to this phone? How much work would it take to learn, and how/where would one go about getting started?
It's been a long and frustrating ordeal. Trying to work on this while having a job and going to school is making it take longer then expected. Progress is seemingly well, however. The ROM boots, but without working data, WiFi, etc. So please keep patient.

Thanks for answering! You're the man, Zombienaut. I'm just glad to know you're still on board.
