[Q] Has anyone found a One-stop Update Fix & Root solution yet? - 7" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

It's obvious we're all having major problems with the latest update un-rooting our kindle and I can't find any threads that are saying how to just re-root and bypass this update and all the problems we're having.
Is there a general list of everyone having the same problems with this update? like flashing screen, launchers not working and their files not being found, can't move or delete files into/out of /system/app, not being able to root and get it working smoothly like we could before this update?
I've re-rooted and installed a few launchers, but nothing is working right. My notification bar keeps flashing on and off, I kept getting a flashing screen but it finally stopped somehow, everything is slow, even my keyboard, I'm having problems with apps even showing up anywhere in ES file explorer, much less being able to move them.
I bought Next Launcher but it's nowhere to be found and the devs aren't responding to anyone about it.
can someone PLEASE HELP?
Would it be easier to completely wipe this thing and start all over? if so, what's the easiest method that actually works smoothly after this dumb update? I've got root but everything is still completely jacked up.

[Q] glitchy xt860

So lately my phone has been getting glitchy, minor things, but happening more and more often. most recent is droid forums app uninstalling and im unable to re-install from the market, i get package is invalid. i did a battery pull and now its back. i've also had the bottom buttons stop responding, and some issues with connecting to the network. From what i've read a factory reset can sometimes clear out glitches.
Some device history: i'm rooted using the one-click, and ran the debloat script, i've also frozen 2-3 apps using titanium. I also have hashcodes recovery installed. the correct steps would be
1)unfreeze apps
2)run debloat
3)unroot
4)factory reset
and i would also like the sbf or equivalant for my model if anyone has it. I have a "system dump", although i'm not 100% on what that is. I'm pretty fresh noob, i'm trying to learn and would rather ask my questions before hand than when my phone is bricked. any advice anyone has would be much appreciated

[Q] issues getting back to OTA Path

im newish and cant post in the development forum yet so im bringing my problems over here unless a mod wants to move it for me, anyways, i originally flashed a leaked update and was wanting to get back on the update path so i tried p3s 1 click method and it worked like a charm, at first anyway. when the phone rebooted i seem to have lost root to some apps, superuser was not present so i downloaded it from the market but it wont run and says i dont have root, yet some apps that require root still work (wifi tether, TB), whats going on? and the other thing that was bugging me is for some reason everything installed and works but i have no camera app and no camcorder app... i decided to download the razr camera app and give that a try but i dont have a camcorder app, can someone pull it and upload it for me? thanks in advance, and a warning to those who are getting back to the ota path, dont take the 5.9.901, it was so much worse when it came to data drop issues, for me at least.
And the razr apk I downloaded wont install, is there a special way to install a camera apk?

LG Revolution root help

Hello everyone. I know I'm a noob, but am hoping I can get some help anyway. Tried searching and not too many people are having the same problem, so I started a new thread.
Anyway, I used the one click root found in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1348557
( I tried to post in that thread, but can't since I don't have 10 posts )
I'm new to hacking and I'll be honest. I only wanted to root my phone so I could use wireless tether, and then use Titanium Backup to freeze a lot of the bloatware on the phone. I have no desire to install a different ROM. I'm happy with the one it has, and happy to take the updates Verizon pushes. Everything was good until the latest update came through. When it downloaded, and rebooted, instead of updating, it booted in clockwork mod recovery. No matter what I tried, I couldn't get the update to go through.
So I settled on never updating again and froze the updater to prevent my phone from trying to update and going to CMR at random times. About 4 days later, my bluetooth quit working. Couldn't figure out why. Thought I was going to have to send it in for warranty work, so I tried to undo all the mods. I unfroze everything, and then hit the one click unroot button. It said it worked. Problem is, superuser is still installed with no way to uninstall.
My first question is this: How do I get superuser gone so my phone can be back to factory so they'll never know it was rooted?
Next I tried to go ahead and get the update since the unrooting process was supposed to have reinstalled stock recovery. Well, it didn't. I still ended up booting up into CMR again. STILL can't update even after unrooting. Double checked, and wireless tether and Titanium backup both say "no root". On a whim, I try the blue tooth and guess what. It worked. May not need to send the phone off for warranty work after all.
So my second question is this: Would freezing the updater cause the blue tooth to stop working? If so, how can I either keep it working or stop the updates without freezing the updater? It's like I have to choose between having blue tooth or having my phone randomly boot into CMR whenever it tries to update.
Third question, pertaining specifically to the one click root I linked to above: How can I get rid of the CMR? Is it possible to root the phone without installing CMR? If I can get it unrooted back to factory ( without superuser or CMR ), how can I root it again so that it doesn't install CMR and keeps the stock one?
I know this is a lot of question and I'm a noob, but I'm a noob willing to learn. If this problem has been encountered before, I apologize in advnace for not finding the appropriate thread. I tried.
updater app
Yes freezing the software update app will cause your Bluetooth to stop working. I used a app called Gemini app manager to go change the permissions of the software update app so it did not have any permissions to do anything. I have not been bothered with update prompts since.

There's no need. MTMichaelson has come up with a easy way to keep your phone rooted during the upgrade from ZV7 to ZV8.

Yes it will. Several people have reported this in different threads. I'm not sure of a way around this, but I think others might have a way around it. If you follow MT's method to keep root during the upgrade, you want have to worry about it!

There's no need to do this either since you can keep root and upgrade.
Here's what you need to do.
1) Go here and root your phone again.
2) Go here to upgrade to ZV8 while keeping root. There's also a method for reinstalling CWM as the upgrade will remove it.
This will: keep your root, get you upgraded, fix your bluetooth and keep CWM.
Good luck!

Ah, thanks. I'll post again to update how that went. Though, I'd like to keep the stock recovery. I'll try to do it without CWM.

How did you change permissions in Gemini? I turned off all the autorun features and was able to get Bluetooth working but I didn't see anything about permissions in the settings. I could have missed it though being at work and all. Will turning off all the autorun features of the Software Update app stop it from trying to download the update in the middle of the night when I'm not looking like it sounds like it should?
In gemeni select block app. It's the same as freezing in titanium backup.

No Hotspot after rooting. Please help!

OK, so I've been trying to fix this for a while now wondering if it's something that I've done wrong but with no success.
Here's my problem.
I rooted my S3 mini (GT-I8190N) running on 4.1.2 using this guide. Everything worked great, had no problem using it to root the phone at all.
After I removed all the 3rd party pre-installed crap -facebook- and finished setting up the phone the way I like it, I noticed that the hotspot was no longer working!
So I tried using hotspot apps, re-rooting, resetting and even leaving it off for a while just to see if anything would happen. It did not.
After looking around a few people have had this issue but I've not been able to find a working fix for mine. Could anyone point me in the direction of one please or advise me on how to fix this as I use it a lot.
Thanks.
Nevermind. Fixed it, found a working recovery file and used ODIN to patch it.
Wait, no still not working. :/

[Q] Polaris office port install qiestion

Hello. I found a Polaris office 5 link which will work with rooted devices http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2611723. Installed as a systems app. I'm rooted, locked BL. After flashing in TWRP it will be there. Trying to open it gives the unfortunately app has stopped message. Looking to clear data in apps it shows no data at all. I go to root explorer find the apk, run in, install new and whamo - works great, no watermark, nothing. However, this is where the problem is, once I restart phone it is back to being uninstalled. It's still in system apps and libs are still there, permission are set. I'm not sure if I missed something. Followed the directions. Searched all over. Is this something to do with being rooted but still having a locked BL? If anyone knows the reason I know where the thank you button is.
