Thank for sharing

Thank you lizzord30 for sharing wit us!
I Will test it as soon as I have a chance but would be great if you could post at least a couple pictures.

Thanks !
Glad to see some one working on something. I do not understand why there is not more interest in this device due to the quality and the price point. This is one bad ass piece of hardware and now it is only $270. You can not get a tablet with a screen this good for that price anywhere else. I think it is better than the Transformer prime infinity screen so the only other one that may be better is the Nexus 10 and they both cost more. I already checked out the Nook HD+ and it does not get as bright. Not to mention I have two 7" android tablets and a 10". I love the 8.9" size it is perfect ! Anyway just keep working at it and since the Kindle Free did not manage to block 8.30 I guess I will have to downgrade but If this gets working good it will be worth the work !

Updated to Version 0.9.1 OP changed!

Might want to add the SDCARD\TWRP\BACKUP\000000\ part... I forgot about it when I was setting it up and had to use the file manager in TWRP to copy it into the BACKUP folder... but she's restoring it now

So far so good... a little odd dealing with the missing bar at the bottom while typing and I'm having some trouble with the background sticking after an unlock, but things are a bit smoother than they were on stock and LMT is great, reminds me of Button Savior on my Nook Color.
Thanks for the work, other than wallpaper I can't think of anything really odd going on. Thanks for the reminder on the GMail, I forgot about that needing to be done when I set things up initially.

If you use Wallchanger then start service then set your wallpaper their either single or a folder. It should stick but its kinda glitchy. I was trying to get Live wallpapers but not much luck yet.

I'm glad to see development pick up!!

[Launcher Pro] [CUSTOM] Text Icons!!

I've been dabbling around with making text icons, so if anyone has any requests, i'll start making them for you. All i'm going to need is what you want them to look like, and a list of icons you want made. I.E. "Google Talk", "Google Mail", "Web Browser" and goodies like that. I'm also gonna need to know how you want things said, so make sure you spell it EXACTLY as you want it for your text icon.
TEAM VIPER!
Nice. The cake-decorator of this surge of chef work, putting the icing on the cake!
Someone made some genericicons not too long ago. I liked that he had some catch-alls like wife, hubby, gf bf, etc.
Look forward to seeing your work.

Well ...give me a list of what you want, and i'll make em up, and tell me what you want them to look like ...if you want a specific font, let me know that too
Well since you are asking for specifics, I'll give ya some for a decent starting point. Right now I just use Tallmin icons (all white, since my dock/wallpaper color changes all the time. Thatd be a nice one to base work off of (google it). So nice white or light grey ones with some shadows would be nice.
Font? I don't know it all depends on the user and which font they flashed over. Haha. I think personally Russel squared would look nice (one of the ones included in the font changing thread) or any other ones that were in that thread. After all, those are the ones most people out there are using as their system fonts, so having them match wouldn't be a bad thing
Edit: Oh and as for which ones to make, Id take all the standards, Web browser, File Manager, Music Player, Call Dialer, Open Games, Open Navigation, Google Maps, SetCPU, Google Inbox (Or Google Mail, Gmail, etc etc) Text Messaging, Android Market, Take Pictures (or open camera) idk, like I said I use the tallmin ones, they would give you alot of good ideas for examples too, seeing as most of those icon packs have ALOT of different ones.

You need Launcher Pro and what you do is long press on the desktop>select shortcuts>applications>(Now you select the app you wanna place on your desktop)>then you should see a "Edit Shortcut" window and you can now "touch the icon to change" which will bring up the gallery and you should be able to see the folder containing the text icons. Navigate to the one you want to replace the default icon, hit OK and thats it!(Remember to erase the name under the icon in the "Edit Shortcut"). I created a folder on the root of my SD Card and named it "Icons" and I place all my icon folders in there and they always show up in the gallery whenever I go to replace the default icon! You do the same for the dock icons, just long press and follow the on screen menu's.
Edit: Nevermind, I used a file manager and finally found it. Sneaky Lil picture it is.
Ok. I want the Samsung Epic (touchwiz) application icon. If u could find it, that would be great

I got that too. It just kept cycling between the "allow" webpage and the widget settings. I get it on the original apk too. I've only played with this thing for 2 days, so I'll have to see if I can fix it or if the dev is trying to fix it.
Stay tuned.

Two things, which may seem very stupid, your data service is working when trying to login, correct? And, try wiping data from the application then login again.
Let me know. I'm trying to fix a problem that the original dev hasn't responded to yet.

T-Mobile/CM7 Theme List App!!

Edit: posted the app in the Market with updates. Get it here: http://bit.ly/theme_chooser
This will list all current CM7/T-Mobile themes. When you click a theme it will take you to the Android Market or website hosting the theme. You can filter by free/paid/hdpi/mdpi/ldpi and search by developer/description/name.
I have been working hard at re-doing Liberty Toolbox into a ROM Toolbox for every phone. A side project with that was creating a T-Mobile theme list for inside the Toolbox. My project is getting so big I developed the app as a side app so I could avoid waiting so long on building. I decided to share the app that will be included in ROM Toolbox.
This app was inspired by THIS thread. Major props to maxpower47 for building the list.
The list in the app is pulled from data on my server. If you would like to update this list it's easy to do and will show up in the app instantly. The list is here: http://jrummy16.com/jrummy/romtoolbox/tmobile_themes/tmobile_themes.xml
Please let me know if you would like to take the huge task of updating the list (gtalk: [email protected])

I like this idea, downloading now to test. I'll let you know just now how it runs on Oxygen 2.2.
By the way, the link you posted to the list of themes points to a XML file, not a webpage...
Edit: Looks like it works nicely... I like the way the search feature filters the list as you type, that's a really nice touch! Have you got any way to show themes added to the list since the last time it was opened?

Thanks for testing it out. I like your suggestion too! I will have to update that. I just updated the filter to include "By Developer..". it's bed time for now though.
Thanks for this! Works great!
Sweet!! Downloading now, thanks for making this!
This is very nice. Thanks for making life even more convenient.
Just 1 minor problem. Let's say I filter the app to only show "free/donate themes." If the the theme link takes me to a market link, then I click the back button to go back to the app, it keeps my filter settings and goes back to the same theme I left off at. This doesn't happen though if the theme link takes me to a post here at XDA.
If the link brings me to XDA, then I click the back button to go back to the app, the app resets my filter settings and starts me over at the top of the list. Definitely not a deal breaker but gets pretty annoying since not all themes are in the market. Is there any way for it to keep my settings and my place, if it opens the browser for an XDA link?
Works great.. really good idea Thanks!

I was running 1.0 (installed before the update yesterday), so I tested with that before updating to 1.1.
Both versions the filter retains it's settings on my Desire whether the link takes me to Market or XDA. Perhaps it's something specific to either your device or your ROM? Works perfectly on Desire with Oxygen 2.2.
By the way Jrummy16, I really love the 'transparent' application theme you put in... Nice touch! Unfortunately though my chosen interface fonts (Sansation and SansationLight) make things interesting, but that's not a problem at all. I'm off to get the donate version now.
Awesome, love it!
Two requests:
1. Multiple filters at once (i.e. Free and HDPI)
2. (this may be hard, too much work!) in app screen shots!

I'd also agree with the first suggestion, perhaps setting up the filters as tick-boxes in a list instead of a pop-up menu would make it easier?
I think having screenshots in the list of themes would make it look messy (my honest opinion), but perhaps an indication of whether the theme is located in Market or XDA would be nice?
Either way, I'm still finding more and more interesting themes to try..
Updated in the market with multiple filter. .
bad sss
thanks
Omggggg ive been waiting on an app like this for so long!!!
Thanks so much!! Im abusing it!
I had an idea last night that would make this an even more useful app, but it sort of depends on how it works currently though... Does it store a list of themes locally or does it have to download the list each time you open the app?
It would be nice to be able to see what themes have been added to the list since the last time the app was opened.. With the number of themes in the list already, it would be really easy to miss newly added themes without even realising it.
For example:
On first run:
Themes
Theme 1
Theme 2

[MOD] Hide the system bar via power menu

Introduction
This mod adds an option to hide/restore the system bar to the power menu (appears when you press and hold the power button). You can see screenshots at the end of this post. Please read all instructions and requirements carefully before installing.
This is the very first release and stable performance is not guaranteed! Make a backup before installing.
Prerequisites
Retail Wi-fi Tab (7510).
Deodexed ROM based on UEKME stock firmware.
The ROM must have framework-res.apk and android.policy.jar unchanged from stock. This mod overwrites these files. If they have been changed by the ROM, best case you'll cancel some of the ROM modifications, worst case - your device will stop working. If the ROM uses a custom theme or adds elements to the power menu (such as 'Reboot' or 'Boot into recovery'), most likely it isn't compatible. If unsure, ask your ROM developer. In case your ROM is not compatible, ask your developer to include this mod into their ROM.
As of now (September 16), StarBurst ROM should be compatible. I think it'll work on Task650 ROM, but you'll lose extra options that ROM has in the power menu by default.
Installation
Check all the prerequisites!
Make a full nandroid backup!!!
Download the attached update.zip and put it on the sdcard.
Flash from the CWM ('Apply update from SD Card' option).
Reboot (the boot will take a while, it's normal).
Long press the power button to see the updated menu.
Select the "System bar" option.
Click "Allow" in the superuser prompt.
Repeat 6-7 to restore the system bar.
Troubleshooting
Long first boot (several minutes showing Samsung logo) is normal. Boot animation with sound playing over and over is not.
If the mod doesn't work, try rebooting. If the problem persists, post logcat.
If you device doesn't boot, double-check all the prerequisites. If everything seems in order, post logcat.
Download
update.zip is attached to this post (mirror)
src.zip contains modified source files and resources for developers only (download)

Works on Task650's V6 Rom.
Awesome. Can't wait for this to be baked into a few ROMs. Great idea.
Should be in every ROM from now on. More screen real estate = massive win for videos, gaming, you name it.
Excellent work.

It will probably be less useful for games than you think, since most games have graphic resources designed for specific resolutions. My guess is that you'll see a lot of black margins in games. Also not very useful for videos, unless you watch a lot of old movies that are not widescreen.
My primary motivation was reading, actually
this would be great for web browsing for me. the stock browser always take precious real estate for tab on top and the system bar on bottom. i always looks squeeze to me. this is one of my complaint comparing to ipad2 aspect ratio.
dolphin hd solve this issue. but with this mod it will be even better

You can hide tabs and address bar in the stock browser by enabling "Quick controls" in settings (Labs section)
Worked for me on Overcome. Lost extended power and themed settings menu.

I know this not exactly a bug or anything but i just want to say that if anyone one else have a better idea to toggle the hide/unhide control please suggest. While using the power button is the most obvious way, i cant help but to mention that its not exactly user friendly in term of multitasking.

I haven't tried this out yet. But to keep the extended power menu you will have to add the strings for them. I'm going to update my rom tomorrow with this added to the extended power menu. I'll post it here if the OP wants me to also.

I was going to add the src files in the op to framework and policy, but I got lazy and wanted to know if it works.

I was thinking more for emulation unless you think they would not stretch using the "fullscreen" modes.
I do watch quite a bit of 4:3 content too, I am assuming this would stretch downward to use the added pixels.
Web browsing will be nice too.
Maybe overthinking it lol.
Hidding the control bar is very usefull and handy together with Buttom Savior and Elixir Widgets. Now I always have my control keys in the right side of the screen wher are more easy and fast to reach.

Get the ICS look on any device!

Hello and welcome to my guide to get the looks and feel of ICS on any device running Android 2.2 and higher! I will guide you through downloading a series of apps, and help you through setting them up. All in all, my goal is for you to be happy with the new look of your phone! :victory:
Without further adieu, lets get started.

(If the thumbnails are really small, try clicking on one, then refreshing the page)
The first section is to download Holo launcher from the Play store.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5tb2JpbnQuaG9sb2xhdW5jaGVyIl0.
1. Once you have done that, set it as your default and go to menu>launcher settings.
2. Go to desktop settings and set the grid size to 5x4 (you will know why later).
ALSO: It is highly recommended that you go to general settings and select "Keep in memory". This will prevent launcher redraws.
3. The next step is to put the ICS search widget at the top (the fifth row) on every home screen. (Holo launcher should have replaced the GB "Search" widget with an ICS styled one. If it didn't, there's an app on the Play store called custom ICS search widget.
4. Once you have done that with that, move on to section 2
5. If you REALLY want to make it look like ICS, stick with 5 home screens as the ICS launcher only allows 5 home screens
In the second section, go to the market and download Go Locker and this theme:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...iYW5nLmdvc2NyZWVubG9jay50aGVtZS5pY2VjcmVhbSJd
1. Once you have done that, go into go locker and hit settings. Then hit enable go locker. Then go to "locker themes" and select Go locker ICS.
NOTE: you can set a password in the the go locker settings menu
2. Make sure it works! (You may have to wait 5-10 seconds after screen off for it to lock, otherwise it will resume your session)
In the third section, we will cover the status bar. Go to this link to download it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sMSwxLDEsImNvbS5jYWxzdG8uc3RhdHVzYmFyLmljcyJd
1. Once you have done that, open the app and hit the acessability toggle. Toggle accesability and ICS status bar with it. (This will allow app notifications to be pushed to the status bar.)
2. Hit the enable button at the top, and your ready to go!
In the fourth section, we will cover the keyboard. Go to this link to download the Jelly Bean keyboard.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...vZnQuaW5wdXRtZXRob2QubGF0aW4uamVsbHkuZnJlZSJd
1. Go to settings>keyboard and language > and enable Jelly Bean keyboard.
2. Set vibrating and sound settings, then your done!
In the fifth section, we will cover apps. Go to these links to download the corresponding apps.
Messaging: https://www.google.com/search?q=ics...cp.r_qf.&fp=f8988a7f1ebacbd3&biw=1366&bih=643
Camera: https://www.google.com/search?q=ics...cp.r_qf.&fp=f8988a7f1ebacbd3&biw=1366&bih=643

Chrome Icon (optional): http://icons2.iconarchive.com/icons/google/chrome/128/Google-Chrome-icon.png
ICS Clock Widget (optional): https://play.google.com/store/apps/...kZ2V0cy5OZXh1c0lDU01pbmltYWxBbmFsb2dDbG9jayJd
Whew! That was a lot of links!
1. Download all the apps, and install them (self explanatory)
Note: to change the theme of ICS messaging to dark go to settings.
2. Turn off notifications from default messaging app, and hide all the other apps (default galley, camera, etc) from app draw by hitting menu in the holo launcher app draw.
3. THIS STEP IS OPTIONAL: If you like, you can change your broswer's icon to a chrome icon by holding down on the shortcut and selecting edit.
4. THIS STEP IS OPTIONAL: If you like, you can add the ICS clock widget shown in the first picture at the top. Its free on the android market
ICS wallpapers: http://www.mediafire.com/?gkit90l14l15ea1
ICS ringtones: http://www.mediafire.com/?ij37wmj5rhmgrwr
You need CWM to flash the ICS ringtones ZIP. If you don't have CWM you it is POSSIBLE to unzip it an use a single .ogg for your ringtone, but you can't put the whole pack, or use the notification/alarm pack. (credits go to 3xeno)
I hope you guys liked this guide, and if you did don't hesitate to hit the thanks button . Please tell me If I am not clear on some parts, I need to add something, or I made any grammatical errors.

Okay, yeah I didn't vote before because I hadn't completed the process. I just got through it and voted. It took some time to finish this process but you've definitely got everything here. I did this with my daughter's Epic 4g. When she gets home she's gonna think she has a new device hehee. It might just save me from her asking for an upgrade in November.

Thanks for all the positive feedback for my first guide, once I get my nexus 7 I will do a guide to make your ICS device look like Jelly bean.
PS. Sorry for the double post! I didn't know a second page was started and I just thought for some reason my post didn't go through.

I don't think holo launcher drains much batter actually, I was running a ROM with holo launcher and more ICS stuff implemented on u8120 and the battery had a fair enough duration time.
Awesome tutorial! Very well thought out with great instructions - something that is far too often lacking in adnroid tutorials.
One thing that annoys me, and it has nothing to do with your tutorial, is that Go Locker can't be run without Go Launcher. I have a Droid X and found Go Launcher to seriously lag out my phone and cause it to become unreponsive to the point that I have to pull the battery.
Do you know of a work-around or how to get Go Locker to work without Go Launcher?

Actually you just need go launcher to edit the settings, so if you want, you can just edit the settings and uninstall it. It works perfectly fine without it.
You could also use Holo Locker, but its Jelly Bean themed and I don't think it will let you set a lock.
