[Q] How to install Touch Recovery?

Hi does anyone know how to install touch recovery on a HTC Incredible S? I rooted via revolutionary. And I want to install Nik's new ROM. But sadly I have to install it via touch recovery so if anyone can help me or post a link, I'll be very much grateful! Thanks!
http://www.4ext.net/
Prerequisites are abilities to read, use an android phone, download apk from net to your phone, install the apk, and use the app. If only you had ability to search in the dev section, then this thread wouldn't existed.
@bigeyes yeah I went to that website. But I didn't know how exactly to do it. I just wanted to make sure I was doing the right thing just in case. Thanks for your quick reply anyway. Appreciate it!
Well that website is horribly non-instructive. Just download 4ext Recovery Updater apk to your phone install it and update to the latest 4ext recovery touch using the app. It's that easy if you have root.
@bigeyes is it downloaded from the market? Because in my country, some of the apps aren't available. We can't buy apps too. Just download the free ones. I tried searching on the Android market and it says search not found when I typed in " 4EXT ". So any ideas as to how else I might be able to get the apk?
Although as I said the website is kinda non-informative, yet you failed to see "Download free..." at the top of the page. Here's the link http://www.4ext.net/get.php?apk

[Q] How to Use SDK?

I am just a n00b and idk anything about programming except some C++ stuffs
So i installed android SDK on Windows(SP2) and was planning to make some Apps like personalised android launcher for my mini..but after installing the .exe I just sat around like dumb..i just dont know what to do...
So here are my qwestions
1) How to connect my phone to SDK (GT-S5570 Cyanogen music edition by Crazy K_P and android version 2.3.4)
2) how to develop some random small apps as just for getting started
3) i found out an youtube video on how to make Android Launchers but nothing was mentioned on how to run SDK and stuffs
Am posting the video link soon
Hoping to get help from all of you guys here
-Rik(Rittik)
you first need to download the android, open sdk manager n select wich android you want to download, when it finished open avd manager n create new virtual devices, n there you go, start it and you got virtual devices running..
btw sdk is for testing your apps, not creating. CMIIW
Yes, after downloading SDK you have to open the SDK Manager and select the stuffs you need to download like which Platform (Android 2.2/2.3/4.0 etc. ), code samples, documentations etc. Select only the required stuffs like any Android platform or its gonna be a hell lot of time required to wait to finish downloading.
After that you have to connect the SDK with Eclipse using ADT plugin. There are many Youtube videos regarding this, so it won't be a problem.
PS: Before you start with all these stuffs, its always good to have look on several ebooks on Android development, as you're a fresher.
umm thanks to u guys now i am kinda connected..do you guys know how to make apps wid it ?

For that you need to start from beginning like creating New Project and coding the stuffs, deploying in an Emulator or you can test run the app in your own phone by installing the apk file. As I previously mentioned start by referring some tutorials, and get in touch with what you are doing.

Ubuntu Touch Dual Boot on Any Device (I think?)

Hey guys!
For anyone who wants to try out the new Ubuntu Touch dual-boot, here's how (if your device isn't supported yet):
1. Download and install the attached apk.
2. Edit your build.prop (I recommend using an build.prop editor from the Play Store, but you can also do it manually)
Change the three original lines to look like this:
ro.product.model=Nexus 4
ro.product.device=mako
ro.product.manufacturer=LGE
3. Reboot into Ubuntu Touch!
Notes: A regular boot will boot your device into android, and you will have to reboot into Ubuntu Touch from within the installer app.
You will not be able to boot into recovery without uninstalling Ubuntu Touch.
Your backups may or may not be deleted when uninstalling Ubuntu Touch.
Warning: I own an Optimus G, very similar to the Nexus 4. As devices vary, so will compatibility. There are no promises that it will work well for all devices and I take no responsibility if something goes wrong, though I'm willing to help out if it does.
Edit: Feel free to try on your device, but will work best/only on Nexus 4/Optimus G variants
After changing build.prop to above settings now Ubuntu Dual Boot on Nexus 5 says Downloading Ubuntu (coulnt do that before), will report what happens next
Couldn't proceed - image added

Do you have superuser installed?
That's the only reason I can think of for it to not work.
Make sure that you are running the latest version.

Yes superuser is working fine. It seems to be some sort of a problem due to storage formated differently than Nexus 4?
EDIT: I manualy created /cache/system folder.. now installation went a bit further.. Image of error added.

Try this:
1. (In the app) Options > Delete Download
2. Try to download again, but this time, allow SuperUser access forever.
It could be possible that after a certain amount of time, SU is not giving the app root user permissions anymore. This could cause what you're experiencing.
Already did that since some users reported same error (nexus 4 users) but with no success. using SuperSU like other that had problems.. maybe i should try another superuser app

Probably not considering it requires a device with stock (AOSP 4.2+)/ cm10+ or something similar.

well it is not working for Nexus 5. I tried to put Ubuntu Dual Boot app in /system with no success as the same error occurs
I have installed Ubuntu competely without errors on my Nexus 5. Only it will not reboot.

If you mean that it will not reboot in general, that sounds pretty bad.
If you mean that it won't reboot into Ubuntu Touch, try rebooting into recovery.
It won't reboot in Ubuntu. The phone goes out. And when I turn it on it opens on in cm11.

All I can suggest is to uninstall Ubuntu (not necessarily the app) and wait for it to be ported to your device, sorry.

ok, i have installed UT on E975 (geehrc) following your instructions, it successfully booted but there's no gsm signal ( wifi is working though ). Does it work for you? is there a workaround?

GSM services do not work for me, but that only makes sense considering that the version of UT that is installed with the app is for Nexus devices.
The only 'workaround' so to speak would be to have Ubuntu Touch built for your device.
Unless someone chooses to do so, all we can do is play around with the partially functional OS.
By the way, the Nexus 4 was based off the Optimus G, and that's probably one of the main reasons it even installs properly.

Thanks for these informations and of course, for your work in this thread!
Although, there isn't much working in UT, it's interesting how it looks like!
Btw, is the terminal working for you?

Is it possible to root a Fire Tab 8 (2017) on Windows 10?

I saw a guide earlier on how to root the tablet with a Linux PC, but I still haven't found anything Windows related.
