[Q] Samsung Galaxy S I9000 always stuck in Boot Animation - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I started two days ago looking for a new Android since my 2.3.3 didn't run smooth anymore, and I thought maybe i should update to 4.X.X.
So I tried many different ICS and JB Roms and followed every guide i found exactly my last one, which I thought would help me was this guide.
But now my problem. Every time I got stuck after successful Rom installation, wiping data / cache and dalvik, I got stuck in a Bootscreen loop i tried every solution I found but nothing worked for me.
I tried to reinstall everything flashing 2.3.6JVU version via Odin and installing .zip with CWM, but I got stuck again.
I'm sitting here now for two days trying everything but nothing seems to work. I waited several hours and nothing happend so please if anyone can help me, I'm getting pretty desperate about that right now
Also 'im quite a noob with flashing
thanks in advance :fingers-crossed:

Thank you, thank you so much :victory: I tried the "FIRST STEP for ALL Problems:-
Whenever you have a problem with your Phone, power it down, remove battery, remove SIM card and Ext SD card and press and hold your power button for at least 30 seconds to a min, before reinserting battery and trying any solution" and it worked!
I have my ICS rom now installed and I hope it runs without problems

phone stuck on boot after installing new rom!

Hi, I installed this rom:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716088
and It's simply not up the home screen, I even tried to restart (by pressing the power button a few seconds)
For half an hour or so passed and he still displays the Samsung logo and nothing happens, I'm pretty stressed out right now and I have no idea what to do, It would be great if someone could help me, thanks.
Update: I turned off the phone for the meantime (I took out the battery)
Download and flash ROM from here ; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997 I recommend first install Gingerbread ROM, as you may need to wipe cache and wipe data, which is dangerous on ICS.After successfull flashing you can update to ICS.
Problem solved, thanks a lot :victory:

Booting problem

Hi
I'm having problems when turning on my galaxy note. I was using Paranoid Android J.B. and was playing Death Trigger happily when suddenly the screen started acting like an old T.V. I got scared so I exited the game and rebooted the phone and got stuck so I re restarted the phone by long pressing the power button but this time it didn't boot but only appeared quickly the galaxy note N-7000 screen and turned off.
At first I charged the phone thinking maybe it was low on battery but happened the same. Then I entered to recovery mode after pressing the buttons a longer than usual time and installed P.A. CM9. Everything was ok but 15 minutes later I ran off of battery and the phone turned off. I charged again the phone and after a few minutes I tried to turn on the phone but I couldn't because again all I got was a quick flash of the galaxy note screen.
I entered again on the recovery mode but this time I only selected the reboot phone option and it turned on as always.
Does someone knows what could it be or how to fix it?
Would you recommend me to install stock rom and unroot the phone just in case?
Thanks four your help
Hello perri.etb, you could first try another custom firmware and see if the exact problem persists. You could then try a stock firmware just to double-check.

That's why I installed Paranoid Android CM9. I have used it some time and know that it works perfectly but yeah, maybe installing a TW rom could work. I'll try.
Edit
I installed another rom and everything worked fine. Now I installed again P.A. CM9 and everything is fine.
Thanks.

Hello perri.etb, I am glad you have resolved the issue.

Stuck at S screen - tried everything with no results

This is yet another thread on an GT I9000 stuck at boot, but with a twist!
The diference is that it hapened without me doing anything to it. No flashing roms, no rooting, no unlocking, nothing.
One day it turned itself off, turned on again, get pass the initial screen, gets pass the carrier animation, and it is stuck at the big shiny S screen.
I'm not new to XDA or to flashing (old windows mobile), so I decided to come here and look as usually I can find my answers. The thin is it seems no one else has a similar problem! Not here nor the entire web!
I've been searching and experimenting (it doesn't work anyway, so it is ok to test every solution) for 2 consecutive weeks and still nothing!
I am able to get into download mode, into recovery mode, I am able to flash rooted (or rooting) kernels, I can do everything (except update from SD card with Cyanogenmods, it always says the file is BAD).
I've flashed stock roms, following all the procedures, with Odin, with Heimdall, I've tried everything suggested by "Android Solutions" but nothing!
I'm really frustrated, so I'm reaching to see if there's someone that can shine some light on how to solve this... I feel I'm about to smash the thing with a hammer! (but this won't solve the problem, right...)
Thank you in advance

I assume you had rooted and had CWM when trying to flash CM from SD cards? if not, it will not work, using 2e or 3e recovery
First powerdown, pull out Battery, SIM CARD, and EXT.SD card, press power button for a minute, than powerup without SIM and Ext.SD Card....Do remember to backup your contacts, data, images etc and also your EFS folder before flashing a ROM and make sure you have more than 50% battery charge before you attempt any sort of flashing.
Also assume you had tried everything in My Android Solutions did not get you out of bootloops?
so, boot into CWM > mounts and Storage> to copy your entire SD card to PC, after which you should format every partition (you will in-effect lose everything by doing this,) and do not reboot
after this, you must pull out battery and powerup into download mode to flash JVU+Root ROM with 512 PIT (repartition and update boot loader ticked in odin3) from My Android Collections
Hi xsenman,
Thank you for the reply.
in fact, I tried to CM from the SD card after having flashed CWM rooted kernel with Odin, but at this point the phone was not booting anymore. The whole reason I wanted to flash it in the first place was because it started bootlooping by itself while completely stock.
So I came here to xda, and follewed the instructions. I thought it would be a simple matter of flashing with a new rom and everything would be a-ok. It didn't.
I've tried every single trick mentioned in "my android solutions" (great information repository by the way, lots of work there) and still nothing. Today when I get home (forgot the phone at home) I'll flash the stock everything and try to follow the SD format procedure you mention.
I'll post back
Cheers

Hi again,
I've tried xsenman's suggestion and still nothing.
I could understand if this was a SD card error (because it was damaged in some way), but I have no indication of a SD card error. It can read everything and I even can see the file structure inside the SD card (and I do not mena the external SD card ofc). I was even able to copy some files to and from it!
I think I'll "fix it" with a big hammer and buy me an iphone! This is soooo frustrating!
anyone has any other ideas? I'll try anything and everything.
Cheers

CM needs to be flashed twice, try this method or this
Check Here to chose your forum/Guide by Version of your phone or you will have more problems by using wrong solutions due to different versions of Galaxy S
Use only ROM and solution for your model and Wipe x3
But First powerdown, pull out Battery, SIM CARD, and EXT.SD card, press power button for a minute, than powerup without SIM and Ext.SD Card....
(Do remember to backup your contacts, data, images etc and also your EFS folder before flashing a ROM and make sure you have more than 50% battery charge before you attempt any sort of flashing.)
Hi again,
Tried everything and got always the same result. Nothing.
Maybe the problem was with some piece of hardware (but I find it strange). As I said before I firstly tried to flash it because it had come to a bootloop by itself so maybe it had a deeper problem.
Now I got it solved. I bought me a brand new iPhone 5 (LOL) and flashed a stock rom on the SGS and sent it to the carrier customer support. It had one year guaranty. Lets see what they say about it.
If they can solve it I'll have 2 very nice phones!
Thank you anyway for you help.
Had same problem some time ago.
THIS should help you too
Hi again!
I had tried that too, and the result was the same as all the other things I've tried. Nothing.
Today I had some feedback about the phone (I sent it to repair). The phone is on its way back to my hands, and the repair status says:
"Software update and power circuit repair. Tested OK".
Let's see if it does tests ok when I get it back!
Two weeks ago I got an e-mail from the tech support asking what was wrong with the phone because they could find nothing wrong with it. I asked them to turn it on and try to make a phone call for example, or connect to a wi-fi network. It doesn't really matter, I just wanted them to try to do something that involved turning it completely on and use the device in any way they wanted. Clearly they hadn't even tried to turn it on. Otherwise they would have figured out that there was a problem...
This was the carrier support, not Samsung (I think). Anyway it SUCKS bigtime!
Now I need to figure out what to do with it...
Thanks anyway for your support!
Cheers
G
Just to let people know how this ended up.
My SGS i9000 went to the repair shop for two times. The first they replaced the charger plug, the second they say they replaced nothing (but I don't belive them )
As I still think this was some sort of issue with the samsung firmware, I just flasher CM10 and it's been stable since then.
My girlfriend got it as a present and she's quite happy with it!
Thank you all for the help!

[Q] Stock T-mobile Streak 7 not booting right Please Help!

My streak 7 just started acting up.
1.- I forgot to turn it off and the battery depleted and stayed without charge for about 4 days.
2.- At first it would not boot (after charging overnight) it would get stock on the pink animation.
3.- Contacted tech support and they had me do a factory reset (4 times).
- First time it got stuck on "Formatting DATA" (waited for it overnight)
- All other 3 worked fine.
The problem is that after it boots and I go trough the initial setup (google account, WiFi password - no sim card) it appears to be working properly, except when I turn it off and re-start it ask me for the configuration all over again. Just like if I had done an other system restore. If I try to install something from the market some times the tablet would crash (the screen would blink and then go black) and I have to use the reset pin.
I don't know what to do I'm completely new at this but I'm willing to learn. Any help giving me a direction to go will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
You could try to NVflash back to Froyo with this file: http://d-h.st/iXc. What version were you on? This video is the first in a three part series by "giveen" which will show you how to load drivers to NVflash: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydM7qkoCs00. This link will get you all the drivers: http://d-h.st/iqA. The links in the videos no longer work.
This page will get you the latest or last T-Mobile file link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Dell_Streak_7#Official.
Thanks !
Thank you for the help. I will be trying this today.
Need more help
I tried doing the restore to factory 2.2 with the instructions above, the flash appeared to finish. But when I restarted the tablet I still have the same problem. Every time I turn it on it acts like it has just been restored to factory defaults.
I tried doing the HoneyStreak flash from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1088225, and I got an error.
Formatting partition 2BCT please wait.. FAILED!
Could this be part of my problem? any other suggestions of what to do.
Thanks for your help.

You are in read-only status more than likely. Sucks.
OH NOOOOO
Does this mean I'm out of luck and pretty much have a worthless device now?
I've looked up read only mode and no one seams to have a way to get out of it (except for re-soldering components with some expensive machine)
I've also tried the "hold reset pin + capacitive buttons + power button for 2 minutes" with no luck.
And found one that calmed to have fixed it by flashing CWM to it but they did it with a version of CWM for 5.x and up and I'm still in stock 2.2
Please some one tell me there is a solution.
Yup.

Problem restarting Galaxy Note

Hi guys
I have a problem with my Note. I have installed several roms over the last year without any problems. Recently though I had a problem. I had been using about a week or two the ROM SuperNexus but a few days ago the powerbutton started not to work. It would at some moments work and some other moments it wouldn't. Very frustrating. I reinstalled the ROM, still didn't help. Then I installed a different ROM. It worked but not for long. Now it also started to reboot itself every 5 minutes or so. No idea why. I decided then to flash a new kernel. Abyss didn't work like I wanted so I installed Speedmod kernel and then installed the stock JB rom. Now that worked all fine and well. No problems at all, but the weird thing is when it gets to about 20-30% on battery, it reboots and then gets stuck at the bootscreen.
Why would this be? I'm afraid there is something really wrong with the phone. Does anyone have an idea what this could be or how I may be able to fix it?
Thanks in advance
Daniel
Edit: Also should not when it gets stuck at boot, wiping data/reset factory helps. Also when it's stuck at the bootscreen, it does get warm I find.
I just did a test with the App eMMC BrickBug Test and it said that Yes. Insane chip.

1. Boot your phone in recovery and flash the latest kernel from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1789397
2. Restart and allow some time to settle.
3. reboot and do wipe data /factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik
4. Use pc Odin to flash stock ROM from sammobile.com
5. Check if it works and update...
