Does anyone know if sprint will be offering the stealth black on launch day? I know the sprint website states that they are not in stock and says coming soon. Also the black htc one is/was available pre-order on wirefly and newegg but I heard a lot of negative stuff about them (hidden charges, etc.). Tried to pre-order at best buy, but only the gray one is available for pre-order. Since other retailers are offering the htc one in black(wirefly, newegg), will sprint offer it on launch day?

If it's showing on the site, and they don't have them on the 19th, it won't be very long after that they should have them in stock. If you really want the black model, it might be worth waiting a couple weeks for Sprint to have them.
ive been wondering this same thing! and furthermore, im wondering why more people arent asking about it! ive been hounding at&t online and one of my local stores every day to see if there are any updates. so far nothing. i pre-ordered a silver one for my wife and wanted a black one for myself for distinction. i know i can get different cases, but i was really wanting to keep this baby naked. but, i wanted the pre-order goodies too. im almost to the point of, if they dont know anything by friday, ill order the silver and case it up.
i did see something about clove UK getting stealth blacks in this week and their website shows stock of them now. but, that doesnt help those of us that want a carrier subsidized version.

pretty much the exact same thing i get when chatting with AT&T on the subject.
I'm almost thinking with the lack of Stealth Black availability maybe the HTC delay was caused by issues with anodizing the aluminum? Maybe they had to ramp up production of the silver one to offset the expected amount of Stealth Black they planned to produce.
Just a guess though... That's why I shied away from pre-ordering on Newegg or Wirefly for the Stealth Black

The good thing is I haven't heard too many terrible complaints about black Ones and build issues (minus the general One quality control issues). Things like scratches and aluminum coloring showing through or coloring coming off don't seem to have posed much of a problem as of yet, just by looking at the black Ones that are out in the UK. Or maybe black takes longer to build and they are already behind release as it is, so they just decided to make a ton of silver.

There are a good amount of people over on the One forums (international variants) with the black version, and my answer is still the same.
HTC One Stealth Black Color available on 04/19/2013
So I spoke with the Sprint sale's department to pre-order the HTC One in black and was informed that all pre-orders is only for the silver version and I would have to wait until Friday, April 19, 2013 for the black color to be available for purchase. I am calling TeleSale this Friday to place my order.

I've got the "Glacier Silver"(32gb) pre-ordered for me and the wife and will be swapping it out at the store for a black 64gb on the 19th. With AT&T you've got 14 days to swap any device with no problem, and if it isn't opened there is no fee, or a $35 fee if it is opened. I spoke to a representative for AT&T(business) today and got word that the Stealth Black is to be available on the 19th. Hope they have the "double dip flip" case at the store!

My local sprint store said no one has claimed any of their day one stock. I preordered 32gb black in store. I do believe I'm going to switch to the glacial though, as I do like the looks of it. The only reason I preordered black is my last 4 devices have been black.

Well if you managed to pre-order the black then i'm sure other sprint stores should have the black on in stock. Idky they didn't put up the black one for pre-order on their website. That "coming soon" statement makes it seem like it was going to be available in the coming weeks. Ima check out my local sprint store and see if they have the black one in stock.

I dunno but it seems with all this talk on the forums like the black doesn't even exist for sprint yet and I got played and they just signed me up for the glacier. I guess we'll find out Friday. I'll report back then I suppose. Either way I'm getting the glacier but I'll let you know if they hand me a black one first

Neither BB or the Sprint store had any preorders yet. Neither could figure out how to do the preorder but Sprint took my account info and said they will have one for me on the 19th. I called yesterday(15th) playing dumb and asked if they had any HTC Ones in stock and the guy said that it didn't launch until the 17th. I'm going back up tomorrow to see if I can pick it up early. More than likely not...but you never know.

The white one appears to only be available in select markets (The same markets that are seeing the $100 discount). It also seems that they sold out of the white one very quickly where it was available. I ordered mine early Sunday afternoon, and it shipped yesterday. However, some people who ordered later on Sunday afternoon or Sunday night are seeing backorder notices.

Ya i was one of the people that bought it online too late in the aftenoon so were part of the backordered crew. I would recommend putting in your order as soon as possible so you can get added to the list. As of now they are "suppose" to get the phone in this week but who knows when that will actually be.

Just order online ant pay the 10 for next day shipping. You can have a white one.

Sold Out in Birmingham
They supposedly had a few Sunday at an AT&T store in one of the suburbs of Birmingham , AL. But when I went in on Monday, they had sold out. They said they were getting additional shipments but no guarantee as to what would be in them.
I got one in Houston, I live in the Chicago suburbs, but am here on business. The AT&T corporate store off I10 near Freebirds and Target. The black model I paid $549 for is going back on Sunday. It also only cost $99 down here on contract, they were $199 on contract in Chicago. I will have to pay $35 restocking, but I still am coming out $65 ahead.

Was it a new contract because if I try to use my upgrade my only option is black, also the stores in Chicago don't even have a sku in there system for a white.
The white ones are Only available in certain markets.
They are also available through EPP website.

Has anyone had their white Vivid ship that was previously backorder status? I ordered on 6 Nov at 2300 hours, but it's still showing backordered. I'm a little ticked off that AT&T shipped my secondary line alone (not a Vivid) for new service with the primary being backordered.
Ordered a white one Monday arrived today! I went to the store because online site wouldnt let me order a white one. Anyways loveing it beats the black one by a longshot. Just my 2 cents lol

Hmm never though to ask the store if they can order one for me, I know they don't carry it, and I can't get it in Chicagoland.
Yeah I wish I could try via store, but gotta do it thru Premier. I just wish they wouldn't have shipped till the whole order is ready to ship, that really irritates me. I don't want to go thru porting and activating as a single line, then switching to a family plan, porting remainder number, closing Sprint account... that's too much pro-raping and hassle. I did get sent an add'l SIM card separately then the other phone, guess I could throw it in my old Nokia N75 lol.

I just galled in to get an update on my order status as it is no longer able to be checked via the lets talk website. I was going to find out when it would arrive and then see if I could get a phone locally and cancel my pre-order. The recording when you call says there are now further delays with the 32gb and 64gb developer editions, didn't say anything about carrier specific models and I didn't get through to anyone.
The message also said the double dip free cases are on backorder until mid may as well so you will not have something to protect your phone for the first few weeks if you get one from them.
Just a heads up.

I actually got a hold of someone and my order is scheduled to be received on Monday as scheduled. She didnt say anything about the case so I guess we will see when I get the confirmation on the shipment.
I just cancelled my order and went into my local best buy, they had lots of silver and black ones available and in stock so I just picked one up and will order a case online from Amazon.

From what I seen, its $199.99 with contract and $699.99 w/o. I also did not see that they had any black versions out and from what I know, noone will for some time.

lol we're bouncing back and forth thru threads to see the best Right Now price in a walkin/walkout scenario
It was the 199.99 for me with upgrade and was 699 without.
I had them open a black and a silver so I could hold the real phones next to each other and see which I liked more. Not sure why I feel this way but, the black just looks too much like other phones on the market so I wanted to go with the Silver.
Has anyone in the US been successful yet in ordering the black HTC One? Online still looks like it's restricted to silver orders.
*edit* just spoke with a corporate rep and they don't seem to have any information on their end as far as availability goes for the black. i put a note down for them as well as my local att store to give me a call when it's available.

I preordered it from At&t on the 19th and still processing. Yesterday they were -140 they should be calling me any minute with an update. They don't have any ideas when the phone will arrive. We play the waiting game.

Just went down (I don't live in a big city), were a one Verizon store town and they had some in the back. There wasn't one on display but I asked and she didn't know, so she went and asked and came out with a couple. Then as I was paying some guy came up to her and said those werent to sell, that they are supposed to order custom moto x's (from motomaker). I guess he doesnt know motomaker is ATT only right now..anyways I came home with one. Thanks again.

Shoulda asked them if they had VZW Motomaker Cards!
They only had a black one available at a Verizon store I visited on Saturday. Apparently, they believe that AT&T has exclusivity on the white model.

My store had black and white, I got black but if a dev edition isnt available by my 30 day trial period im going back for the white, i'll take my chances on it getting dirty, it looks too cool.

I'm pretty sure its 14 days for you to return it. Maybe they've changed that but just a heads up in case you end up stuck with it.
got mine this Saturday in store. They had white and black available. The coupon code verizon30 still got it 30% off for me. With an upgraded and fees total came out to $217. Just buy online (coupon only works online) and select pick up in store and its ready in an hour.

I know it was last weekend you have to go through the checkout process to find out it will be on the page for cc info. It will have a promo code box in it type it in and find out .
The people in the stores are clueless. One salesman tried to sell my mom a wireless charging dock when she bought her moto x today. the moto x doesn't even have wireless charging on it! Luckily I was there to stop that scam from happening. They also tried to persuade her to buy a droid instead of a moto x, its almost as if they get paid more to sell those

I had the black and ended up exchanging for the white. The material used on the back of the black model is softer and more grippy, but to me the white model is just awesome looking. I don't regret the switch, I got a barely there back case for a better grip and I'm good to go

I believe online shipping is free. I'm getting mine for my wife at the Best Buy locally through as they will match the deal of the day price. By the way, I love the rose gold (the one I have) and am getting a lime green for the wife. I know most people like black.

I had the rose gold demo on to see how it looked... And then I ended up paying the extra 100.00 for the black. Couldn't justify the white and rose gold
Just ordered on. All that was left was green. FYI it's about $100 to change the band color after the fact.

I bought 3 online with local pickup at the store and picked them up a little bit later.
I couldn't resist....Finally upgraded from a Galaxy S2 (Hercules) to a Nexus 5, just to pick one of these up over a Pebble. (Not too concerned over the little limitations, I'm happy with it for $150 ^_^ )

On a side note, don't believe the Best Buy website as to which are in stock. I called around and three of the four stores around me had all of the colors in stock although the website only said they had one or two, if any at all. The rose-gold is actually kind of nice looking. A fairly shiny bronze, but just a hint of red in it in certain light. I actually almost chose it over the Oatmeal -- Which, btw, is grey with just a hint of brown. Decided on it over the others because I usually wear suits and it seems to match a little better than explaining something as a "rose." =P
