[CLOSED]Free publishing of your apps on play store - App Stores

EDIT: Please delete that post.

Great idea. :good:
However, there is one problem. What will you do if someone sends you malware to be published on Google Play?
You are the one who is responsible for everything you upload there. Just my thoughts. Think about it.

Well, lets just hope that this doesn't happen, i'll review the apk a bit and look for something that screams "I'm malware"
Who knows if even anyone is interested

If there will be malware, they will delete your dev account. Just for your information.
Good luck!

Hmm i'm sensing some sort of breaching of the developer terms of use
Maybe i'm just cynical after they removed my free app for copyright infringement lol but they did say several time that repeat offenses will result in your developer account being terminated.
But i agree the $25 is kind of bs, just for the intent to filter out spam.

Well, lets end this thread, there's no one interested anyway

GiveMeApps has no developer fees and gives you the option keep 100% of your earnings. They'll also let you withdraw your earnings whenever you want (not once a month or once every two weeks, or whatever), but they WILL delete your dev account if you upload malware. Wouldn't any reputable online store do this anyway? http://www.givemeapps.com
You're responsible if you upload harmful content, but most dev agreements will hold YOU responsible for any damages, so be careful. Why would you risk your own account?

you keep posting about them in every thread, but when are they going live?
every app i click on has no description and a pic of angry birds on top.

There's a lot more to distributing your apps through Google Play than offering your users a nice way to update them. Google Play is also a great showcasing platform, its search algorithm ensures prioritizing your app to the intended targeted users, etc. Also, as other people pointed out, it's the best way to keep users away from malicious apps.

Who Owns Your Files?
Before you get all excited about Google Drive, you might want to read this post:
http://news.cnet.com/8301-1023_3-57...ur-files-on-google-drive/?tag=mncol;morePosts
This is from the post, quoting Google's terms of service:
"Your Content in our Services: When you upload or otherwise submit content to our Services, you give Google (and those we work with) a worldwide licence to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, create derivative works (such as those resulting from translations, adaptations or other changes that we make so that your content works better with our Services), communicate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute such content.
"The rights that you grant in this licence are for the limited purpose of operating, promoting and improving our Services, and to develop new ones. This licence continues even if you stop using our Services (for example, for a business listing that you have added to Google Maps)."
Updated at 8 p.m. to clarify that the first sentence of the Google terms states: "You retain ownership of any intellectual property rights that you hold in that content. In short, what belongs to you stays yours." For more on this topic, See Rafe Needlemen's FAQ.

So after using it for about 10 minutes, I've uninstalled. I really don't like the fact that it converts your documents into Google Docs.

FUNK THIS ****!
Google Drive — Terms
“Your Content in our Services: When you upload or otherwise submit content to our Services, you give Google (and those we work with) a worldwide licence to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, create derivative works (such as those resulting from translations, adaptations or other changes that we make so that your content works better with our Services), communicate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute such content.

i'd rather use skydrive, since i like the ms office web apps better then the google docs, but they dont have an official android app
just to mention about google "owning " your files once you upload... this isnt correct
it may be badly worded , but it basically means that if you share something with public / google + then it will be used with these services ,
not that they can go through your drive and save whatever they want...
basically this:
“Some of our Services allow you to submit content. You retain ownership of any intellectual property rights that you hold in that content. In short, what belongs to you stays yours.”
Reasons for the uses:
Use, host, store: Obvious
Reproduce: Backup
Modify, create derivative works: Convert to Google Docs format, Resizing photos etc
Communicate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display, distribute: Sharing (If you ask them to)

"Derivative works" is a legal term.. It means they can modify, add to, or delete from your items and reuse however they see fit, for the purpose of improving their services. That's broad enough that they technically could, say photoshop that nude picture of your gf and use it somehow. But don't take my word for it.. I'm only a lawyer.

I think im gonna keep it but I'm gonna wait it out to see if they kinda clear the air with their terms. I hope they integrate it with chrome 20 for regular desktops though that would be cool.

Quite honestly, why does Google want a picture of anyone's girlfriend? They just have very broad terms to avoid being sued as much as possible. I highly doubt they'd ever do anything like that, but either way, as with any website, don't upload anything that could ever get you into trouble or anything you don't want publicly seen. Nothing ever gets deleted completely and you don't want to do something later regrettable.

That's exactly my point... "technically", they can do what they want. Will they? Probably not. I write contracts to protect my company as much as possible... Google's lawyers are no different.
thing is they need those rights to be able to to index the files and create thumbnails... thats what they are using it for

I'm guessing here, since you didn't post the reason your app was pulled, but from your description I'm guessing a copyright problem. If you are using material obtained from somebody else (iOS files, movie images, etc.) be sure you have appropriate license to use and redistribute them. Finding something lying around the Internet doesn't count. You need to contact the copyright owner and negotiate a license. Easy for GPL or Creative Commons stuff, those have licensing terms clearly spelled out at the distribution point. Getting permission to copy stuff from Apple or Universal will be a touch harder.
I am not a lawyer. I suggest talking to one in your jurisdiction before releasing your next project to see how to stay legal.
Using an image which belongs to a big company will certainly be a copyright infringement, and they certainly will not negotiate a license. As soon as they report you (or someone else does) then Google will almost certainly ban that app and eventually your dev account, so I would be very careful. These big companies have people who's job it is to search out such infringments, so your chance of getting banned is pretty high I would say.

Publish Your App For Free to the Google Play Store

I registered for the Google play developer licence recently.I know there are so many great developers who cant publish on play store due to the 25 USD developer fee.
I will post your app for free under my dev account under these conditions,
1.The app should be in English Language
2.The app should not be made with online tools(such as drag n drop app builders)
Just mail me on [email protected] with your app name.Describe it in simple words for me to understand.A screenshot would be good.If I find its not yet another crap,I will reply to you and tell you to send the apk,its descrition etc. so that I could publish it.
I will check the apk before publishing to ensure it is not malicious.
Your comments and thanks are appreciated.
Will mail you soon..
Great.I was looking for a way to get my app published.
Really supportive user, helped me alot thanks.

Need a Play Store account for publishing of App.

Hi Guys,
I saw a lot of threads on the forum by which users could publish their apps for free on Play Store. But unfortunately, the members that were doing this are not active since a lot of time.
I am new to Android Development, and developed an Evolve Calculator for Pokemon GO, and wanted to publish it to Google Play Store, but unfortunately I don't have a credit card, and can't buy a Play Store Developer account.
So I wanted to ask, does Google give away free Developer Accounts to students, etc. Or would someone be kind enough to help me in getting a Play Store Account, or share one with me?
I am currently hosting a signed APK of my app on Google Drive, but i am not sure whether I should share it here or not.
Thanks in Advance

Can't really help you with the publishing (sorry!) but I'll say... don't worry too much about the APK.
The second you put anything on the Play Store, whether free or paid, it becomes available on a couple dozen mirrors and piracy websites. Where are you from? I'm sure there are prepaid credits cards that you can use without a bank account in your country, and getting your own developer account (with the ability to update your apps whenever you want) is REALLY recommended.

Well then congratulations on your first published app
They usually start popping out when you emerge in any category, like Top New X or very deep in the Trending rankings. It's all done by bots anyway, rarely the APK ends up on websites that bring some traffic (which can be useful if you integrate ads, and some of them might want to download the "real" updated version).

I will see whether I will integrate them or not. Most probably not, I myself don't like ads, and I think others also hate them. As far as making money is concerned, I am not interested that much into it. I just the app to perform well
You could try free stores like: Opera, Amazon, Aptoide.
Just search for mobile marketing forums. There must be people who want!
