Anyhow. I just took the hard case off the phone looking for the antenna so i could build onto the existing one for data because im cheap and creative. only problem is i have no idea where the antenna is located so i have no idea how to attach an external antenna. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated and also...pictures with descriptions are reeeealllly user friendly (sometimes jut the explanation is not very clear and i dont want to bother yall with repeated questions.

Hello everyone,
having read the Kaiser wiki fairly extensively, I still haven't been able to find the answer to the most important question I had about it.
I recently purchased a v1615 (Vodafone branded Tilt) and the geek inside of me is burning to install a new rom onto it as the one that came with it sucks bad.
Would anybody be able to suggest which are the most popular (i.e best for most common usage) roms out there at the moment?
Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to give me.

The original rom in my tilt was very slow. I flashed my kaiser with one of Dutty's roms and its now much faster and already has most of the software I need already installed.
I like Duttys but Slueth has been the best for me so far.

I already have had a bit of a look around the forums now all I need to do is figure out which roms are where and then I'll start trying stuff out... thanks guys
Edit: Also, I have never actually flashed a smartphone before, I bow to those of you who have been in the "business" for a while, but me thinks I might need a bit more time to learn... the thing is, what sort of chance do you think there is that the whole process will drive me crazy? Seems a lil complicated, but doable so far. Just need to understand what all the various different things are for. (I.e. why radios aren't included in roms, and what they are actually for ..yaeh, im THAT noobish).

Welcome to the flashing club lol.
There is no "best" rom , just find the one that you think is "best" for you.
Yea, the Wiki and Faq here is very noob friendly. I started up as a new ppc user , but It has been so smooth. Most of the flashing trouble can be recover , as long as you dont mess with advance stuff like MTTY .
Try Dutty rom , they are very popular and updated frequently.
make sure you have hard SPL before flashing.
Peeps here are very friendly , as long as you read and research before any question.
I've seen many threads regarding poor (if not non existant) gps signals related to the HTC Touch Diamond.
Pretty much all of them suggest setting issue in windows 6.1, etc. Me thinks you are all looking at the wrong cause.
Here's the answer (trust me on this)!....
We all know that the original slimline battery that comes with the HTC TD is pretty much useless when it comes to life....lucky to get 4hrs on standby?
OK, so then you go and buy the cheep extended battery - you know - the huge slab that comes with an additional back for your phone - coz it's too big for the original.
Gives you great battery life (or should I say - gives you 'normal battery life' in comparison to other phones).
Basically, your GPS antenna is being 'wiped out' by the EMF (Electro Magnetic Field) of the bigger battery - the signal is being scambled completely and you would be lucky to get a fix under 20 minutes with this installed.
For those of you gettin this problem - simply plug in your original battery....
....bet you get a strong lock under a minute!
I've tested this extensively using HTC GPS Tool and the results to me are conclusive.
Would be grateful to hear comments back on this post....

Not just common knowledge, it doesn't solve GPS issues for most people, as most people don't have this battery.

Scooter, don't let them put you off posting - keep adding your tips. As you say, they may help someone.
actually there is a fix for solving the gps problem with a large battery using a small piece of aluminium foil underneath the cover. Its been posted before here and originated on a Russian site and it seemed to work for most users.

I just got this phone due to a falling out with at&t. This forum has no q&a area so this is the best place I could find. I would greatly appreciate it if someone here would explain a bit about motorola for me as I've only deved htc for a few years. Is there anything you think is drastically different that I should know about. I will read everything I can from the other threads for motorola today before I start tearing into this one and start building and posting. This is my first time and first post here. I've gotten pretty frustrated and am hoping someone can help me out? I have a Galaxy S phone, model number SHW-110S; firmware: 2..2; kernel: 2.6.32.9; build version: FroYo.SK22. I've been all over the net and can't seem to get the users manual specific to this particular phone. So, I have a number of questions? Let's start with this one: where can I get/download a users manual specific to this phone? If it becomes too difficult to find, then my next question would be: Can I upgrade this phones O.S.? Now, there are still many more questions, but I think that's enough to get started in the right direction.

I found this page about turning the SHW-110S into an I9000 model. I can't post the link since i have less than 10 posts so just look up Turn SHW-110S to GT-I9000 (Samsung Galaxy S) on Google

And keeping with that theme, would it not be best just to upgrade the O.S? As far as I can tell, I can go only as far as Honeycomb 2,3,6(?). ADDENDUM: This has got to be THE most frustrating forums/site I've ever been in!!!! Once you login, just trying to get back to this forum/subforum is a nightmare!! I'm also extremely disappointed by the lack of response/lack of knowledge this supposedly "special forum" delivers. Read the "into" to this forum, it clearly deceives anyone that comes to this forum into thinking their phones issues might be solved. I've not only had so much difficult in trying to start/post a "thread" (hell, most of the time I can't even find the "icon" to tik), once I login, I have one hell of a time even finding/getting into this subforum. I'm not getting/receiving responses to my questions. Clearly, there was no one devoting "'special" attention/service" to this forum as stated in the introduction. hey guys, I was a windows phone lover, but as we know, i got forced out... so as I'm nkt a snob, I won't own a iPhone, so im trying my best with Android, but am not happy how intrusive Google is, I don't really care for Google either, and I feel they're watching my every move, and id like to ride dirty if I want to without someone watching me.. if... I felt like it.. sorta creepy if you ask me, plus Google ruined my buddies phone for downloading a video game they say was pireted, so im not ok with that, as the phone was my buddies property.. so.. yeah, that's my feelings on all this, miss windows, don't own a computer, just a boy and his stalker android phone, that always seems to have issues with software, afraid to turn my phone off, because for whatever reason, android phones don't like to turn back on.. for me anyway, hello everyone

thank you, I don't know how to do that sort of thing, and ware I live, we don't have phone lines, so no computer access, so I would need a way to do stuff either buy using phones own storage, or SD card, or to another phone, and a male to male cable linking the two phones together,, but as it seems, I'm guessing my Stylo 5 isn't root friendly, so idk, thanks for any help info you can provide, also, I'm having major problems with senior members, I posted a help question, and no one has responded to it, but if I comment on others posts, asking if they fixed the problem, or what I should try, it gets removed, then I suggested someone with a broken phone, hook a Sim card up to another broken phone, after getting the one networked unlocked, if it still didn't work, and putting in the other phone... and got message not to post illegal stuff on here.. it wasn't illegal, seems everyone wants to keep removing my posts, and talking crap to me, but no one wants to help me with my phone problem, I don't understand, I need help, not policing, thanks, if there's anything you can do to guide me or help me, it'd be appreciated
