Apps aren't opening...need help. - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

So starting today, after no changes being made. My apps won't open. I click on them and they bounce like I'm clicking on it but nothing happens. I did a full factory restore, they seem to work randomly then they stop working again until I reboot. After a few minutes, this happens again. The app menu button seems to work completely fine. It will bring up my app menu but the apps won't load. Sometimes when I click on them like 30 times they will finally open but other than this they won't. Also the home screen apps are having the same behavior. It seems like software but I don't know how it could be software related if I did a factory restore and it didn't help. Also when I hold the app button down like you would do to relocate it on the home screen, it acts like there is nothing there and opens up the menu that would come up if I held down on a black area of the screen to change the wallpaper or something. This is pretty terrible. Help? Thanks.

Update software then, Repair My phone with the Sony Update Service.

Crashing when opening start menu

Hey I need help. I played with a few settings in PocketToolman and after the soft reset I can't get into my start menu. Everytime I do the screen, majority fo the left side of the screen (the area where the menu would take up) goes black and I pretty much lose all functionality on the phone. The only thing i can do is press Power and go to standby but that's about it.
Anyone have this problem before?! I just got the phoen too so I don't know my way around it that well yet. It's been loaded with wm6.1.

Recent apps bug?

Every once in a while, my recent apps button starts to go crazy. I will be reading a book or playing a game, and suddenly the recent apps will start pressing itself. I have even held the phone in the opposite landscape with nothing near the button and this still happens. Is this a software bug, or do I have a malfunctioning unit?

I would bring it back and return it for another device. You don't want to ignore it thinking it might be a software issue then end up having to get a refurbished replacement if it eventually becomes a problem. Seems like this is one of the hazards of getting one of the first run of devices off the assembly line. Besides, it's not like you've rooted and messed it up with "unauthorized firmware"

I have the exact same problem. I went to return it to an ATT store, but they didn't have any black ones in at the time, so I'll go back after they get black ones in. I have not idea is it is software or hardware (or both) but it seems the recent apps button is hypersensitive and can go off if you have a finger anywhere near (even though not touching) the button, even when your finger is only on the chrome part.
The problem seems worse if "Touch key light duration" is set to "Always on"

Periodic blank desktop

I am having an issue with my rooted, unlocked phone on 5.1.1. Every once in a while when in an app and pressing the home button to go back to the desktop I will instead get a blank screen. The navigation buttons are visible and respond when pressed (a gray background shows briefly when pressed) but don't do anything. I can pull down the notification shade but nothing happens when I press a notification. I can press the setting button but again nothing happens. This happened once while I was playing music and the music continued to play. I have to turn the phone off and then back on again to get it to work again. I thought it might be a Nova launcher problem so I went back to the default Google launcher but it still happens. As a last resort I reloaded the factory image, re-rooted and cleared all ther data to start from scratch but it is still happening. Has anyone seen this before or have any ideas what is causing this? It is driving me crazy.
Thanks,
John

It happens on my N6 a few times. Mostly when I had changed something.
For instance changing a language textfile of the nav.app Sygic. Or after adding custom Poi's.
Reboot solves the problem.
My idea is that it is related to caching or memory management.
Root N6, 5.1.1 LMY48i, FK r31, encrypted.
Disabled most g-apps;

Noticeable delay after pressing screen lock button. System reset does not help.

This issue has been driving me mad for the past couple weeks. I'm at my wits' end and I need some expert help to figure this out. Please read this post thoroughly to understand my situation, as this is not a simple matter of uninstalling some apps.
When I first got my Note 9, the screen lock button worked perfectly. The screen would immediately turn on when I pressed the button, and it would immediately turn off when I pressed it again. However, once I got the Android Pie update, the screen lock button stopped working properly. The screen still turns on immediately, but there's about a 0.5 second delay after I press the button to turn it off. It's a relatively small issue, but it's enough to bother me.
I attempted to fix this by performing a system reset. But this did not help. In fact, this issue is still present even before completing initial setup of the phone.
When you perform a system reset, the first screen you see when your phone restarts is the welcome screen. It contains a "start" button that you press to begin setup. On this screen, the lock button issue does not happen. My phone locks and unlocks correctly. On the next screen, you connect to a wifi network. After connecting to a wifi network, the lock button issue becomes present. In other words, this issue with the lock button is present before I even start using the OS, or install any apps, or really do anything at all. It seems to be triggered by connecting to a wifi network during setup.
So I figured there must be something wrong with the firmware. So I used Odin to flash an earlier firmware version. This did not solve the issue. I even tried installing an unlocked firmware version, on the offchance that my carrier (AT&T) was doing something weird. This did not help either.
I have no idea where to go from here. I thought that a system reset is supposed to completely wipe everything from your phone, so that it behaves exactly how it did when I first got it. But that's not the case. It seems like something is carrying over that's causing this issue. Does anybody have any idea what I should do?
Do you have lock instantly with power key on?

It is probably the double tap power button to open camera feature. You can toggle it off and locking will be instant.
If its already off, there my be an accessibility service listening key presses.

This delay issue is so silly but it annoys the hell out of me. Where did you turn off this feature in Pie?
Update: Found it. Just use the search box in settings and type in "camera" (or whatever it is in your language). The "double tap power" setting will get listed.
Thanks alot,
Watz
I even turned off the double press for camera app but I'm still noticing a 0.5 sec lag when i press the side key
I even restarted after changing the setting
Nothing is happening
Please help

Question Home button often not responding

Hi there,
My home button often stops responding. It will appear pressed correctly but doesn't actually go home. Sometimes the back and switch window buttons also don't respond, but that's less common. This happens about once a day.
The screen is fine as the buttons visually change to show I've tapped them, but they simply do nothing.
I can always fix it by restarting. It's only been happening on 12.1 v61 firmware.
There's no physical damage to the phone, it's in mint condition.
Any ideas? Anyone else having this?
I'm hoping the next software update fixes it because it's super annoying.
Thanks!
Global power management will cause erratic behaviors. A 3rd party app, does it happen in safe mode? Any apps installed or uninstalled before this happened?
Clear the system cache if you have this option.
