vote please!

if we have a custom offciial and work base (as cm) rom 4.1.2 for LG P880 i think that could be simple to port it from HOX..
infact we have a custom miui rom for LG P880..RD MIUI of dexter_nlb..but the rom is build with 2nd init so it's no simple to adapt it for new kernel and base..
if someone can try rom start but there is a problem with acore
maybe dexter_nlb too cuold be build for us..
i remember that miui v5 is 4.1.2 and our custom rom base is cm10.1 (4.2.2)..
so it's no simple to adapt it or compile for our device..
with patience we wait..

And if use with base stock JB? Is android 4.1.2.
I saw the forum galaxy s2 which could make a port from the official JB released for the device.
Maybe we're doing it the wrong way.
It's just an opinion.

JB there are 2 version actually
4.1.2 JB (Official Stock ROM LG)
4.2.2 JB (CM 10.1 custom rom)
Also if are same Jellybean family but this versions are very different in a lot of things..as example apk of 4.2.2 do not run on 4.1.2 (different sdk use)..so probably also other things..
however we can try if possibile..i'm not developer so i don't know..
however i try some days ago but no luck..
EDIT i'm trying to use as base stock 4.1.2 as you say (zaiben rom) and port rd miui v5 of HOX but no luck at this moment..
but i want to try again
And actually i test as base rd miui 4.1.2 of dexter_nlb that use 2nd init (i remember that this rom boot and runs fine (a part bug of wifi, acore and others) on new jb kernel and on new official stock rom..in that rd miui thread i write my test)..if we can to boot rom and use it with succes after we can use this base and then it's simple to port it at the last version..
if someone want to try i can upload my test rom

I would definitely get this ROM if it hopefully gets released for O4X

Finally I managed my time to port MIUIv5 to our device. I'll ported it from official release for HOX. Rom is now can boot but too much patches needs for running basic settings like data and wifi.

thx good news
i wait for a final version :fingers-crossed:

I still remember when I was using HTC One V, the development was almost dead and no hope. No sign of custom ROM. untill the owner of HTC One V, the choosen few, requested official support from miui.us. few weeks later, request granted.
I see even more people vote for optimus 4X HD on miui android forum. that's a good sign. having devs who dedicate their priceless time to build or port a ROM for us to flash is also a good sign.
I'm just saying

[Q] MIUI v4 for P990?

Hi,
I'm using MIUI on my optimus 2x for a while now and I'm very happy with this ROM. However since I saw the features of MIUI v4 I can't wait to have MIUI v4 on p990.
I've noticed the ALPHA build from bihariel and the custom build from Wajk, however both don't supply mobile data, which is crucial for me to use it on a daily base.
Today I found this one: http://android.tgbus.com/xiaomi/MIUI/419905.shtml and it seems that the chinese were able to port MIUI v4 to p990. There is a link for their build, so i thought maybe someone can use this and translate it to english (or even better german )?
Thank you for your great work so far and keep it up
Hello
I am in your case,
Nothing in view for our device.
Not even a fm radio working on Miui.
I tyied 2 roms Miui V4 found on Xda, but no working phone.
If I find something I'll let you know.
(sorry I'm not a developper ..)
Waiting for miuiV4 for my optimus 2x too...If someone could translate this rom...
I read in the developers section, that someone tried this rom already, but it was a v2.3
We might get official MIUI v4 when LG's ICS update comes out.

help : what is the best jb rom till now

hello ... i wanted to ask what is the best jelly bean rom available till now ?? i need the smoother and the best stable one ...
None of them are stable or that smooth since JB for note is just in the alpha stage. If you want a "stable" rom use either gingerbread or ICS. Or if you want the "latest" one but with bugs and various other tits nd bits of problems you can use the CM10 preview. :good:

ParanoidAndroid isn't that bad, but the battery life is kinda sucky at present. Wait for the CM10 nightlies which are scheduled to appear real soon.
I've tried all roms so far. I must say that Liquid Smooth - Jelly Bean V2.0 [Beta 2] is the best ROM we currently have. 0 Force closes and havent noticed any bugs that would make me consider switching.Even Bluetooth works perfectly. The only problem is that Google Now isnt working at the moment.

JB in Note is still not much stable but
PARANOIDANDROID v1.9.8a is a good option and itz quiet stable...!!!
Meh if you want a daily driver, PA, CM9, or the newest TW-based ICS roms are the best way to go

Since our phone is old there is no official support for CM, therfore later versions do not exist officially. Under dev section http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1028 in Inc s there is some CM 9 and CM 10 roms which is made by ours devs. You can see their respective threads what bugs they have and so on. A dev has managed to run latest kernel on CM 9. He is working on CM10 (there is a thread Cyan Vivo X) however still not released so if you wait maybe a week or two I bet he will be done with what he is doing and realease somewhat bugfree rom.
So I tried it. There are few problems but it looks fine.

Our Nexus One is no longer in production and does not receive updates from Google.
You should research on your own to find the ROM that suits you.
GB ROMs are the most stable:
CM 7.2 : http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?type=stable&device=passion
MIUI 2.3.30 :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117708
Then there's Hypersense Nova as well. Look in the dev forums for the dl link.
The most stable JB Roms right now are : CM 10.1 VJ 4.2.2 and VJ's Slim 4.1.2. Check em' out in the Dev forums.
You can try also PARANOIDANDROID http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1823415

I was running gingerDX on my xperia x8 a long time ago then I installed some custom roms on xperia U as well after unlocking it's bootloader and installing custom kernels etc. I sold xperia U as it was a bit slow for me....
Now the question I want to ask is : what are some good roms (without any bugs) fast and stable for this cellphone ? right now I'm on Android 4.1.1 official ... is it good enough if I only root it or should I go for a custom kernel / Rom and what is the easiest method to root it ?

Arrgh kernel for photon Q LTE works for our phone too, best and only(?) custom kernel we have besides N8 (only for 4.2.2 ROMs). Carbon, CM 10.2, PACman, and HoloBlur are my personal best experiences with this phone.

Carbon 4.3 nighlies by far the best and most stable

As for rooting and unlocking bootloader plus flashing a custom recovery, the Myth Tools program for Atrix HD has all those 3 things wrapped into one easy executable.

ignore this.
Thank Neighbor808 if you provide 2, 3 links for roms and the link to kernel I'll be thankful to you.. as I don't want to risk anything here as I'm new to Motorola world
Generally, look for files under mb886. Anyways, here ya go.
CM: http://get.cm/?device=mb886
Carbon: http://goo.im/devs/carbon/mb886/nightly
PACman: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2398627
HoloBlur (Stock based): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2356624
Argh Kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31708952
Make sure you get CM 10.2 kernel for non stock based. Don't flash the kernel of the date of your nighty is later than the kernel (Oct 2 so far). It gets updated regularly.

I can't figure out which kernel to download ASA / FFW ? I've downloaded Oct 2 version of carbon ROM, any thread with it's screenshots and features etc ?
Please also tell in which sequence I should do the procedure ? like : root > recovery > Unlock Bootloader > kernel and then rom ?
Root, unlock bootloader, recovery, backup current rom, wipe data and system, flash rom then kernel.
Sent from my PACMAN MATRIX HD MAXX
Deeje is spot on. As for which kernel to download, Post #2 contains the kernels for STOCK or Stock-based ROMs. All of the ROMs I linked to you are CM-Based except for HoloBlur, which is stock based (but it already comes with Arrgggh kernel so don't worry about that). The thread clearly states:
ASA-36 (Original 4.0.4 ICS firmware)
ASA-14 (Final 4.0.4 ICS firmware)
FFW-5 (Latest 4.1.2 JB firmware)
Pretty much the only stock kernel you're ever going to need unless you fastboot flash back to ICS is FFW-5.
Post #5 contains the kernels for CM-Based ROMs (Pretty much all the ROMs out there that aren't stock based). The CM 10.1 Kernel is for Android Version 4.2.2 ROMs, while the CM 10.2 kernel is for Android Version 4.3 ROMs. If you are flashing Carbon October 2 nightly, that is Android 4.3, so you will flash the CM 10.2 edition.
Here's links for the standalone posts to make sure you know where you're going...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stock Kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31708970&postcount=2
CM Kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31717152&postcount=5
By the way, check Atrix HD Development section, has all of our ROMs + screenshots and explains features.
Thanks alot homie this explains everything now tell me some good features of Carbon / Pacman Roms so I consider flashing ?
Carbon is basically CyanogenMod with some great Paranoid Android features added in (like Halo, PIE, navbar customization, etc.) . Smooth, reliable, great battery. PACman is a combination of 3 popular ROMs (Paranoid Android, AOKP, CyanogenMod) and has pretty much every feature you can think of. Highly customizable, but has a few minor bugs and slightly worse battery. Carbon is more stable but not by a whole lot.

Yes, you can. Just take latest kernel currently - Oct 23 2013 CM10.2 and latest Carbon rom from here (*Currently there are some problems on goo.im*) or here.
Kernel and rom date should be close as possible to avoid problems.
If there will be newer kernel then it might not work if rom is older than kernel but even then if there are any problem you can just re-flash earlier kernel. Although you don't really have to mess with kernel at first. Carbon actually come with a working kernel (latest build have mattmanwrx kernel) but it doesn't support overclocking/undervolting.
Ohh, and don't forget to flash gapps if you need them..
Thanks mate... for me most stable versions of kernel and roms are : 7 oct 2013..... I don't want to change them untill something really big comes out....I don't like overclocking as ATRIX HD is fast enough already with or even without pureperformance mod but I see battery improvements via that mod or maybe that's "Greenify" app that I'm using...
