[Q] Is it normal for my battery to be so bad? - LG Optimus 4X HD

Hey all!
I've bought my Optimus 4X HD recently. I'm loving everything! Except the battery...
Today, I've tested it again and here's what the battery is able to do!
- 6 hours of standby, 3G and Sync enabled
- 4 times checked mail for like 4 minutes total
6 Hours later: 30% remaining.
Is it normal for this battery to be so weak? I've "calibrated" (drained to 0% and charged to 100% - left it for a long charge the first time too)
If it's abnormal I'll contact the helpdesk and see if they can replace my battery, just want to be sure if it's normal or not.
Software is latest available, non-root, very few apps -- verified with taskkiller of AVG: nothing is running in background or anything.
Thanks!

I think there are some wake locks denying the system to go into deep sleep.
Search the forum for solutions, it's a well discussed topic on here

I usually get at least fourteen / sixteen hours on a single charge when I unplug it in the morning before work, varies with how long the Wi-Fi turned on, and I get at least three hours of screen time, one or two of voice calls. I also have mobile 3g data always on with alerts for email, Facebook and Google+. Usually I listen to music for about an hour and half too. I'm running the 20a euro rom official, rooted. Try factory resetting and rooting to remove bloatware and LG logging software.
Hope this helps!

Very few apps installed by you... there is a lot of stuff running in background that you don't even imagine.
Search for the threads about "battery drain" and you'll get some more info.

Do you run the new 4.1 Jelly Bean? There is some huge debate going on, how the update affects battery life. Personally, I ran into huge battery problems after updating to 4.1. The drain was especially heavy during the night, when I usually active airplane mode. With ICS I lost about 1% during an 8 hour night, under JB it was 20-30%. I read up on the threads in this forum and followed many suggestions. I started to monitor battery drain with different apps running/frozen, wifi, 3G, airplane mode enabled/disabled and so on. To analyse the battery I found the apps "CPU Spy", "Wakelock Detector", "GSam Battery Monitor", and "Battery Log" helpful.
But to be honest, I am no "android pro". I monitored my battery drain for over a week and did not find a satisfying solution for the problem. Thanks to this forum and many excellent posts I managed to roll back my phone to 4.0.3 ICS. Now my battery drain is the way I remember it and I am happy again
For me, this solved the problem. Although I do not run JB, and some of the enjoyable improvements it had, anymore. I know that for some people rolling back is no option. If you cannot locate the battery killer easily and you are willing to play around with your device (rooting, freezing apps...), you might as well roll back and give that a try.

You should explore your device and your stock apps...
My battery last in JB for so long as in ICS.
If there are differences they're small.

Yes!
Thanks all, very useful replies!
I've tried simply factory resetting it and, for about 3 hours it stayed on 100%, 2 hours on 99% and etc, very awesome!
I then set up my mail and other things and it went bad again. I had this sync symbol in my notification bar -- no clue why it was there all the time.
I googled why it was there and it's because the sync fails so it keeps trying. I removed the picasa for the email account (because uni mail doesn't support picasa and other google services) and my battery is top notch again! For now at least .

Looks like you're on WiFi which has good standby time. 3G standby is not good at all. That's when baseband_xmm_power starts acting up for me.

Following is my Battery usage still left some 17% with normal usage.

I've had terrible battery life... But when I went to cyanogen mod... It's been great for me ever since... Well two days actually. Lol
Sent from my Koala via the XDA App.

For me the same result with HSDPA. From 8:00 to about 15:00 oclock 15-20% of battery Just IM+ on, sync, some web browse + maybe one hour some games like beach buggy blitz or subway runner.

i am on cm 10.1 now and my battery is bad for now.For my case beleive or not my best battery life with some modifications is on stock ics v10h 19 hours on stand by and i still got 0% drain

mine is bad because of the baseband_xmm_power wakelock, had this on stock 20A but didn´t had on 10h... as far as i can search, there is no solution other than revert to old 10h....
I bought a spare battery so i never run out of juice! Reverting firmware is not an option for me.

No, not normal. I get home with like 55-60% battery left with
12 hours standby
1-1.5 hours calls
1-1.5 hours with activities that keep screen on like texting, mails, etc
i am on the ROM in my signature.
ok is there anyway to get reduce the battery drain without changing roms if not whats the best rom for battery life??

Try using a kernel that supports UV and setting slightly reduced voltages. I am using GB's 1280 kernel, and capped the speed at 1000. And reduced the voltages slightly.
Others would be normal things like switching to EDGE, lowering brightness levels, setting wifi to "turn off when screen off", etc.
what does UV mean sorry im a newb :/ and how do u install a different kernel

UV = Under volting
1. Load the kernel in my signature (attached to this post)
2. Install the voltage control app (attached to this post)
3. Start the voltage app and set the voltages and cap at the levels based on the pic in this thread.
WARNING: Voltage levels depend on phone to phone. I would suggest starting from low values. Take off 50 from the values I have posted in the pic and use them. If u feel it is ok, then add another 25. Take it slowly checking if the reduced voltages are freezing up ur phone.
I would recommend u starting with these values: 75 75 50 25 25 0 from bottom to top.
Ok thanks diablo I will test this out tomorrow and report back

Sounds like a good old battery recalibrate is in order:
1. Connect the phone to the charger with the phone powered on, and allow the phone to charge until it shows 100%
2. Disconnect the phone from the charger, and power it off.
3. Reconnect the phone to the charger with the phone powered off, and allow the phone to charge until the battery indicator shows 100% (you can use vol-up/vol-down to make the indicator come back up when the screen goes to sleep).
4. Disconnect the phone from the charger and power it on.
5. Once the phone is powered completely on, power it off again and reconnect it to the charger until the battery indicator shows 100%.
6. Disconnect the phone, power it on, and use it.
I did this a couple days ago, plus wiped stats, and as of right now, I am showing 20% after 30 hours. No joke.
Running Cognition 3.04,
juice defender is amazing!! it helped my battery so much!!! thanks a lot!!!
Try searching google / this forum for a post of resetting battery stats, i need to do that also since my battery life isnt all that good either, especially how im running 3.04 cog and everyone says batt. life is amazing. SO if anyone can link to battery reset post that would be amazing.

Ironically, JuiceDefender killed my phone *much* faster than with me manually enabling and disabling my data connection.
IMO, JuiceDefender does nothing that you can't do yourself, the problem is, is that it constantly has to check apps to see if any are enabled to toggle your data connection.
I am just saying

I actually use my phone and I am getting these results
I have a very similar question. My problem is, on custom roms (I've tried Assonance, Serendipity, and another), my battery drains 1%/hour. This is even after a fresh install; nothing is running in the background. When I look into my battery info, it says wifi is doing the draining. I keep hearing people saying their battery life is amazing after flashing custom roms, but I'm getting the complete opposite. Am I forgetting something?
Without custom roms or anything, and using a rooted/lag-fixed (not sure this makes any diff anyway) setup, I lose somewhere between 2-3% battery per hour on standby. I don't even use juicedefender. I really love what they're doing with these custom roms, but the wifi on standby just rapes my battery.

Huge Battery Drain ?? plz help, tried everything

Hello friends.
Using o2x from 2 weeks.
Tried lot of roms, all kernels etc.
but what i get average 1 day use of phone, 17 to 20 hrs (less 8 hrs of sleep then it comes to 9 to 12 hrs). with normal use.
1 hrs calls, 0.5 hrs data and remaining is here and there sneaking in phone.
i never used gps, wifi,bt etc, all are in off state.
.
now i m currently on cm7 kang by temasek with irnkernel.
still battery giving same draing.
draining 1% just in 3 to 5 mins when i m using phone (not on call or data).
and main point is i m on edge coverage, so no 2g use.
data is always off.
.
i dont know what eating my battery too much..
.
realy, i m getting upset.
i tried every kernel and every rom, did battery calibration etc.
.
Update : I forgot to mention i m using class 2, 16 gb micro cd card.
also i m using acer liquid metal's usb charger for charging.
will this affect on my battery ?
update : guys i want to mention one thing.
today i pissed of with this problem and thought it was battery problem.
so i planned to go customer care.
then turned back v20e which official 2.3 for india.
then i saw dramatic changes in my battery drain.
it was half as before, with stock thing, no apps installed, not rooted etc.
i m still monitoring my battery.
.
also one thing, is go launcher will be cause for this ?
cause when flashed with v20e. the widget show drain as around 130-150 mA.
then i installed go launcer ex, then drain was 250 mA.
.
what is ur normal drain when u r using phone ? (for those who r getting best battery life)
.
.
can anybody share his battery drain graph which taken by battery monitor widget ?
here are some screenshots :

I have a similar problem, but it's likely because of 3G. With V10F Froyo, the phone drained <1% per hour in stand by, with 3G on. With V20L, and CM7 (any version of them), my phones draines 3-5% per hour. Tried anything, any ROM/BB combination, returned phone to warranty, but nothing.

how the hell do you have such a battery life?! even I am on temasek's kang!! at avg with your kind of usage it will go for less than a day :/
same with me..
hardly a day..
is there any problem in indian phones ?
See that 'better battery stats' image you put up? See the drop down menu that says 'since unplugged'? Change that to 'partial wakelock' and get a picture of it to show us the result
Also, you seem to have a lot of battery apps on the go.. are they conflicting?

I had a problem with huge battery drain and the culprit was my sd card. I dont know why but it had problems scanning it so I think it got stuck in a scanning loop of some sort. When I removed it, all was fine.

i did it already.
My recommendation:
1. Flash vadonka's kernel (ironKrnL has good performance, but drains battery fast).
2. Remove widgets which keep accessing the net in background, stop background data over network (in settings)
3. Install AnTuTu battery saver and set battery saver level to level 2.
4. Remove SD card. Try to manage for a day without SD card. Set internal storage as SD card in CM settings.
5. End all background apps after using any app (use dr. battery saver or similar app to kill all apps).
6. Take any other precautions, such as lowering screen brightness, tick "use only 2G networks" option, dont allow automatic email syncing in background etc.
Try this for one day on a full battery and let us know the results. If it does not improve much, you probably have a defective battery. I also own this phone in India and my battery easily lasts 2 days on normal usage.

Thats normal i think. Get nearly the same results.
Try Rugglez suggestion.
Also check if your Baseband matches your RIL.(Download GetRil from Market)
And go into Settings --> Apps --> Running Apps and check if there are many Services running in the background.
Also you can try to install the Autostarts app, which lets you control which apps are allowed to open themselves in the background.

ICS update Battery Issues

Alright so like many other people on this and other forums, I updated to ics 4.0.3 two days ago and been experiencing battery issues since. But my battery issue is a bit different from what I've read about. My note has no problem going into deep sleep, when i go sleep and wake up deep sleep is at 98-99% and my battery drains about 1%. But when I turn on my phone and start using it no matter what I do, the battery drains about 1% every 3-5 minutes.
Phone settings:
- I always have my brightness at 0 and have screen filter on to make it even less bright(even though battery drains about the same with or without this on) (batter settings still show that screen is taking up most of the battery)
- With wifi on or off battery drains just as fast.
- I havnt started my new data plan yet so im always on airplane mode( battery drains the same with this on or off)
- My note was never rooted
- I basicly have no widgets on anymore because i deleted most of them but doesnt help battery life.
- With power savings on or off battery still drains the same amount
- The only apps i have installed after ics are ones from googe play(netflix, chrome, and other simple apps)/ i deleted my emulators and other apps that iv'e downloaded and installed
Can anyone please help me with this issue
bump

Did you perform a hard reset on your device after the update?
if not, then see if you can try it and get back again with your screenshots.. don't forget to do some re-calibration also on your battery. This works on my end before. Not sure if it works on yours, but hey.. there's no harm in trying right? just give it a shot bud...

I'm not really sure how to kill background applications is it the cashed applications? because ive tried killing running + cashed.
I just installed battery calibration and it says i must root my phone 1st =/

Did you perform a hard reset on your device after the update?
if not, then see if you can try it and get back again with your screenshots.. don't forget to do some re-calibration also on your battery. This works on my end before. Not sure if it works on yours, but hey.. there's no harm in trying right? just give it a shot bud...

Wtf are you trying to brick op's phone? You should get a warning..
Op never ever ever ever ever ever do a factory reset from ANY ics stock kernel.. It will get your phone bricked.. Or maybe but just maybe not? Anyways will you take the chance?
I was on 4.0.3 stock and yeah the battery it's horrible.. Don't know why the phone barely goes deep sleep.. Check this with cpu spy free app from market
Since the phone upgraded itself to 4.0.4 I have been able to run 14 hours with 5 hours screen and the phone its always on deep sleep
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
yea i knew theres a huge risk involved =/ , is there anyway i can update to 4.0.4 because it's not showing up on kies
Yeah following the several guides around.. They all lead you to download 4.0.4 and a gingerbread rom from Sammobile, downgrading your phone to gingerbread by flashing it via odin and then flashing ics 4.0.4 via odin also .. So go ahead and read some..
Cheers

cpuspy and betterbatterystats to check partial wakelocks and whats keeping phone awake. A gazilion threads on that. read them. You need these as Samsungs analytical view state nothing usefull, they need to fire the designer of that.
Next to this I see lot of screen on time, how much time roughly is that in total, you are actually using device?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
my phone doesn't have the deep sleep problem people have. my on screen time is about 6 hours before it drains completely and by on screen time it could be on the home screen with no wifi/net and no apps running with just the screen on, and the battery would still go down 1% every 3-5 min
So ics 4.0.4 came out for the UK version of note so i updated via kies. This didnt fix battery life at all, in addition iit came with another bug where my phone gets hot and drains battery when turn off the screen after playing any media file....So my question now is can i root 4.0.4 if i have the Emmc bug?

[Q] Weird "battery drain" when lightly using the phone

Hello !
I just bought my P880 two days ago and everything is great except one thing: battery drain. It is not occouring in background when phone is in Deep sleep, it doesn't lose charge while it's sleeping, but when I just unlock it/start using it, it just starts draining.
I have rooted it, and unrooted using SuperSU. The thing is I haven't experienced that kind of drain yesterday, it was working fine except drain caused by bad signal (badly inserted SIM).
Usage by Android System is at 50% over 5 hours, Screen is at 9%. Awake graphs are the same as Screen on graphs- no wakelocks.
I have these apps installed:
Prey Anti Theft
Skype (not running)
Adobe Reader
SoundHound
Disco Light
QR Droid
Sygic (not running)
X-plore
SwiftKey 3 keyboard
WiFi, GPS, Data, everything turned off except mobile signal
Running Internation version with Android 4.0.3, Kernel 2.6.39.4-00001-g0f9182c
Mobile network type is EDGE:2 with mobile signal -70dBm
I'm first time android user and this is my first problem so I tried to include as much info as possible.
Thanks in advance
I see 2 mayor issues, first is the android deft app, it may be running and trying to sync but bcz the data is off it will try to connect foreva.
Also, edge is (in other words) ROAMING and this forces the antenna to use more power to get signal from another provider, it get worst if you have a phone with sim card.

Thanks for pointing that out, but I have disabled every sync and I have set phone to 2G mode only, the reason is that UMTS signal was low and was draining battery even more.
I am only losing sharge when just doing random things on phone, even if that means only adding/removing widgets/apps on main screen with WiFi off.
Then you must try the Deodexed version of v10f, removing the bloatware with the script in the same thread.
The issue may be some lg apps that are running in the background so doing this will have 6 hours in standby time with 100% still, like me (if I turn all radios off ).
I have just woken up, while sleeping (9h) phone was awake for about 50%, no wakelocks but there were 30 alarms from Android/Google maps ans 29 alarms from com.google.android.gsf
Hope this helps.
I may try custom ROMs if nothing else works.
While typing this message I have lost 7%.
Similar state here as the OP. Got the phone two days ago.
All is good, it rooted OK, Directory Bind works fine, phone runs like hell (about 10 times faster than my old Galaxy S) BUT it drains battery like a genuine power guzzler.
Ok I get that according to the performance you get, it comes with an accordingly high power draw, so I don't ***** about it, I just want to know if this is normal. I mean I played 2 hours and 15 minutes of Sprinkle and the battery died, starting from a full charge. Screen was set at 50%.
GPS is off, Bluetooth is off, no 3G mobile network and screen is at 50% brightness as I said. There's an NFC icon on the notification bar next to the battery icon, which I am not sure if it should be there.
Here are a couple of shots from the battery section of the phone and from Battery monitor widget if these help.

Please note that as the OP said, the phone consumes nearly nothing when idling. Firmware is 10f.
PS I am not trying to hijack the OP's thread. I just noticed the same behavior and I'd like some help on the same matter, as well as to contribute in whatever way I can. If the OP is offended somehow, I will gladly start a new thread.
@psolord No, not offended at all. I'm glad you posted actually.
My phone has encountered 20 more Alarms, wake ups since I left it standing:
com.google.android.apps.maps Wakeups: 50
com.google.android.gsf Wakeups: 45
You can see pictures below, the drop on the second picture happened when I was writing me previous post from P880.
- I am also rooted again (after factory restore)
- I have reenabled 3G networks but the signal is only at about 50%.
Any additional info please ?
Ok buddy, so we can keep discussing it here together.
For the matter at hand, I see the same behavior, when I unlock the screen, it's like I have opened a whole in the battery.
It dropped from 85% to 65% just from downloading a new map (500MB, 20min download on a slow wifi) from Sygic downloader. I mean this can't be right, right?
I also checked cpu spy and it reports the system 75% at deep idle, 15% at 51Mhz and the rest are 0% to 1% up to 1500Mhz. So if the cpu has so little operation, what on earth is draining the battery?
I wonder if we could be looking at a bad battery batch.
Is there an app that reports exactly what activity consumes power and how much?
Indeed, the hole in the battery.
I even restored to factory from recovery mode since I screwed up the root, so it was just stock, but guess what, nothing has changed :crying:
I really hope this can get fixed, else I'll get a replacement.
I hope someone from this forum with more experience can help :/
I think I am onto something.
Can you please check how is the phone doing if you disable everything under location and services?

I am going to try this, I am also talking to LG Support right now. WIll let you know when I get more information.
I disabled everything, and I didn't see pretty much any improvement. LG Support suggested me to return the phone.
Pretty much draining the battery atm so I can charge it back to 100% and use something like Battery Calibration. Maybe it can change something.
Yeah indeed I was onto nothing. Nothing changed for me either.
Playing 30mins of a 720P resulted my battery dropping from 62% to 50%. I also used the gps for the first time with Sygic (Jesus even the GPS is lightning fast) and the battery went from 50% to 30% for a 20 minute ride. It seems that my phone cannot give me more than 2 hours of use. That's just silly.
BTW do you or anybody, know of an app that can show battery usage per app?

Stock application ?
Also you can use Better Battery Stats to see if there are any wakelocks or anything is waking up the phone etc.
What is happening right now is rather strange, I disabled screen turning off (trying to drain battery to 1%/2%) looking at stock battery app, it seems to be stuck at 21% and it's not changing.
The stock application does not do so much analysis, but the batterystats you used above seems more like it.
I am getting panicked and I miss some stuff haha. Ok lets cool.
It makes me sad that we don't get any input from the community. Something like "yeah this is normal, live with it" or "your phone is faulty, take it back to the shop for a replacement" or something.
Agreed, ANY, ANY kind of input would be appreciated, but I guess we are getting none.
I am going to fully charge it today, do some stuff and report back tommorow. Also anyone, please do post any suggestion you may have.

Maybe this has to do something with the built in power saver. Maybe it kicks in when the battery drops to the 20s and stops whatever is draining it.
I am thinking trying some battery saver to see if it does the same thing but from the beginning of the full charge.

Actually I have disabled it when it asked me if it should turn on. So I guess nothing to do with that.
I am going to backup now, fully unroot and somehow get it to pure stock. Than I'm probably going to exchange the phone in case battery life doesn't change.

[Q] Odd battery usage on lg optimus 4x hd

Hello xda-developers,
I'm having some trouble with my lg optimus 4x hd, the battery is mostly drained by the android system, which doesn't normally use a lot of battery.
I would show a screenshot of the battery usage but I can't upload any links yet.
I hope someone else has had this problem and knows how to fix it.
Thanks in advance,
Cas

I'm not sure. This is more like an o4x issue. I had the same: battery usage is 60% Android system, followed by mobile stand by 18% and some more minor percentages.
My Samsung uses most power by use of the display.
So 60% is far too much.
I am trying to find out what I can achieve by rooting and freezing some apps and/or using Greenify. What I hear is that upgrading to Jelly bean causes more trouble.
Airplane mode - causes lots of baseband_xmm_power wakeups
WiFi on when not connected to router - same
Use e.g Tasker to turn on wi-fi when screen is on, and turn off when screen is off. Right now, I have baseband_xmm_power usage at 0.8%, after 16 hours of on time and about 1h 10min screen on. Try experimenting a little more! Using the WiFi>advanced>Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep is not recommended, as it causes a lot of wake locks...
I experimented a lot and since yesterday I managed to use less than 10% while asleep. Before that it used 30% or more during the night (about 8 hours).
After disabling a number of processes I can see now that the Android system uses only 12% in stead of 60. The Android Operatingsystem even 2% only. On top is now Mobile Stand-by (42%) en Inactive phone (39%).
This is very satisfying. I did not really documented what I disabled, but now I can root my phone in order to disable things one by one permanently. Because I guess that most of the processes that I disabled will probably be active after rebooting the o4x.

check the first 8 hours of 'doing nothing' cause 30% loss of power
And after:
not complete, but after 8 hours of sleep less than 10% loss of power and the next 90 minutes intensive use - phone calls, twitter, mail....
@xtribas if he's still on 4.0.3 stock, this might be a different issue -- same as mine: 80% of the time a full wakelock held by "com.android.providers.settings" -- nothing seen of baseband_xmm here (though I used a different tool than BBS to check -- will switch-over to BBS next for verification).
@Mauvan mind to tell us what you changed, and how your progress / long-time effects are? As we two seem to share a similar problem, I would be very much interested in your details!

on ICS the baseband wakelock is not present... even so... revert to ICS is not an option for me...
As I did not update yet (stock JB is no option for me, as some of my apps wouldn't work well anymore -- e.g. LBE, and no, the localized Chinese "Master" is no option for me either), there's nothing to revert. But as I wrote: I clearly can see the same issue Mauvan has reported, and am just trying to figure out what that should be. No idea why some "provider settings" should need a "full wakelock" for 12+ hours between ~8am and ~21pm. Funny thing, though: deep sleep is more than the 1h difference to-be-expected, but something > 6h.
@Izzysoft: I upgraded a few days ago to JB and disabled a dozen of programs like Application Manager, Cell Broadcast, some widgets (contacts, memo etc.), Picasa uploader and stuff like that, which I don'use or force Stopping some apps (no permanent solution though).
All these tricks help a little. Yesterday the battery was almost empty after a little more than 15 hours. Not much, because it was not a day of extensive use of my phone.
At this moment I see that my battery load is 72% after 5 hours en 24 minutes.
I'll continue reading forums like this and decide this weekend if it would help to root my phone and look for more permanent solutions. I am not considering Cyanogenmod's rom because there's still no stable version. I've seen great performance improvement of this rom on galaxy s plus, so there is hope.
@Mauvan so you don't remember what you did back on 4.0.3 -- or did you start this thread when already being on JB?
Seeing your numbers, I cannot complain: ~70% is what my 4X goes back on the dock at night, after ~15..16h. Estimated battery time altogether is around 2 days for me (and yes, my device is rooted and I disabled/froze a lot of that stock crap, bloatware and mafia-ware -- e.g. the RemoteCall stuff which does not accept a "No" as answer). Still room for improvement: If I can get hold of that stupid "com.android.providers.settings" WakeLock, I should end up with 80%+ and an overall estimated battery time of 3d+, nice for a weekend in the hills

No, when I started this thread I still had ICS. However, those statistics where too optimistic. After a few hours it went down & down & down. That's why I tried JB. Seems smoother, but drains the same.
Now it's my turn to ask what crap you disabled/froze etc. and what additional apps do you use to achieve that. I would be Very Very happy if my battery time should be, let's say, 24 hours at least.
As not everything is freeze-able from Settings->Apps, I used the friendly Titanium Backup (one of the first paid Android apps I aquired, and never regret) for the remains:
Chrome
E-Mail (believe it or not: even unconfigured it consumed battery by permanently trying to do some Exchange-Stuff!)
Email-Widget
Stock News
Google Play Books
Google Play Movies
Google+
Google Bookmarks Sync (just now, as they ran their sync though I unchecked it in Account & Sync)
LG On-Screen Phone
LGSetupWizard
Live Wallpaper Picker
Maps (using Titaniums freeze/unfreeze widget on my homescreen: unfreeze+start on demand with a single tap, then freeze again with another tap. Must not run in background 24/7/365 when only needed 2-3 times a year
PC Suite Service
PC Suite UI
Remote support service
RemoteCall Service (Mafia! That's the one which did not accept a "No")
Social Networks
Android Live Wallpaper
Today Widget
SmartWorld
World Time
After that, installed Apex Launcher -- and like my phone. Except for that minor juice-sucker
thumbs up! (except I need exchange for workthings)
And did you do anything with the LG-loggings and MLT stuff (hidden menu + apk)?
HiddenMenu I just used to peak into what's available, but did not actually change anything. What I'd like to know is about the LocMgr* stuff: Name suggests a "location service". I couldn't find any information on what it really does (as LocationService usually is included with the Google Apps, this looks like a dupe to me), so I didn't dare to freeze the two. Any idea what it could be about? Or even a reference on what it really is about?
No I'm not sure what it all means and I do not like to experiment in those settings. I've read some threads about the MLT like this one and that one.
In the mean time I just rooted my JB and freezed a bunch of apps. I'll let you know the improvements (I hope!!).
I hope for both (improvements and report)
EDIT: Wow, thanks for the Linx! Read that about MLT:
I just disabled it.. lost the weird battery drain from "Android System" that I've been having lately..

Looks like there is my culprit, huh? I just disabled MLT -- let's see how it goes. So now, we both wait for the report of each other LOL
so far so bad
disappointing, because the first night it should be in deep sleep. But instead it consumed 35% in 9 hours. Annoying issue seems to be Cell Standby, responsible for 44% of this drain. Famous wakelock baseband_xmm_power (says BetterBatteryStats).
What I figured out is that there was still one process looking for my location. Wifi disabled in sleepmode, it tried to find access to 3g, but in my house on that place there's not enough coverage (no signal during 56% of total uptime). Might be the age of my sim card? Dunno.
This afternoon I freezed almost all apps like in this link.
Tomorrow I hope to know more.
Edit (17th May):
I rooted my O4X, I installed a root browser, Titanium Backup, SuperSU, BetterBatteryStats.
I watched and monitored. Even tested Tasker (to reduce Cell Standby wake locks). I got a new sim card to replace my (very) old one.
Yes, it improved, but too little. Last night, after so many freezes in Titanium, O4X lost 10% in 8 hours.... doing nothing.
I'm beginning to regret buying this P880. It could be a bad battery, but I doubt it. Too many issues here and elsewhere on the internet about the battery drain.
Also looked at CyanogenMod experiences. This rom gives some people issues like these.
Trade it for an S II plus?
