Htcdev unlock or not? - Sprint HTC One (M7)

I have TEP with sprint so I'm not worried about the HTC warranty being voided. should I HTC Unlock now or wait for an s-off method?

Unlock....there is nothing to worry about.

Are we able to flash kernels with the htcdev unlock?

Should be able to via fastboot - I'm gonna wait a while since it's so new yet

just did the htcdev method via fastboot without any issues. my One is running like a champ

Is there still a problem with getting updates after doing this?

Unlock HTC ONE - Three UK

Anyone know how I can unlock my Three branded phone?
I know Three will unlock but charge £15/20!

I'd like to know too, having hit the HTC Dev "sorry it aint going to happen" error message when transferring the code across to the HTC site. I've seen sites that will do this for money so I know there's a solution out there. After many years of Android and unlocking I don't particularly want to pay someone for something that should be public knowledge.
I got a code from eBay for £3 and it worked fine... Send me a pm with your email and send you link....

Can't say about UK, but my HTC One on 3 Sweden was no problem unlocking bootloader from HTC Dev at beginning of last week... Just wanted to clarify in case other swedes read and give up in advance... Find it strange that the same carrier would have different policys in different countries but fairly new to the game so I'm not sure.

I unlocked my 3 UK branded HTC one via htcdev
If HTC one is not in drop down menu
Then select other models option
This worked for me
Edit
Not sure if op means unlock bootloader, which is via htcdev as above or carrier unlock, to use a non 3 SIM, which is a different process
You will be emailed an unlock token that you should save, as this can be used to unlock your phone again should you relock

International ROM
Can anyone here give me simple starter instructions to reflash my vodafone htc one with international stock rom
I dont want a custom rom just a non vodafone rom form HTC, EU or World.
It is SIM unlocked Bootloader locked.
Can this be done without rooting?
Just switched form Samsung where it was easy to switch to a different rom by flashing without rooting...is there a similar way with HTC?

Thinking of changing form an Xperia Z with a locked bootloader - would you be so kind as to confirm whether the HTC One on 3 UK has a locked down bootloader? The XZ bootloader is locked down tighter than a duck's behind.

[Q] Will rooting my HTC One void warranty?

I'am worried that if I send in my one to get repairs they'll notice that it's rooted and won't be able to fix it.
Yep

Hi
Greetings,
Yes rooting avoids the warranty
But it does not end their
You can make your phone complete stock again and return to HTC care centre
Basicaly you can root and unroot again

that's not correct, they will see that you've unlocked the bootloader... anyway if you root the phone it MAY void your warranty... hardware problems should be still covered by warranty
This has been asked many times. As a safe answer, yes rooting voids your warranty. But its not as simple as that, and it all depends on local consumer laws. In the UK HTC would have to prove that rooting caused the fault in order to reject a warranty repair. In theory only if you brick your device HTC should have the right to deny a repair. In practice they can come up with any excuse for any fault (e.g. your screen doesn't work anymore because you rooted, change to a ROM that modified parameters that caused the screen to fail etc.). And no, if you root and unroot, your bootloader status will be RE-LOCKED instead of LOCKED, so they will know if you previously rooted the device and could still deny a repair.

Dude if you mess with your phone with rooting or flashing other roms be prepared to have your warranty voided. That's the risk you take. Unrooting isn't magically going to bring the warranty back.

I believe he means, he 're-locked the bootlloader and either put stock back on through an RUU or he just installed a stock looking Rom.
If you unlocked your boot loader through revone odds are your warranty is fine! If you used the HTC website then your warranty MAY be void.
Best thing to do, is just run a RUU, and send it in. Some people have sent in their devices S-off and Unlocked.

Hello,
I dont want to open new topic. I am on the latest 4.3 version with One and I want to make root, just root, no custom roms, just root for some apps. Can you please tell me the easiest, fastest and safest way to do that ? And also what should I do in order to make warranty in the future valid, like backup of stock rom or something.
Thanks a lot

About warranty: LOL read last 2 pages of this topic, its clear.
or from HTCdev.com:
It is our responsibility to caution you that not all claims resulting or caused by or from the unlocking of the bootloader may be covered under warranty.

Unlocking bootloader?

I have noticed that s-off could be coming soon. But I've got itchy fingers and want to unlock my one
If I unlock the bootloader via HTC dev and s-off becomes available can I change the unlocked to locked again? So this doesn't affect any warranty?

yes that is possible you can revert back to LOCKED. but after you achieve S-OFF
That's good. Had the one x before and unlocked the bootloader n never had any warranty problems but just wanted to be sure if something was to go wrong with this phone I could hide the unlocked
Thanks for clearing that up

Flashing RUU with Unlocked Bootloader?

SO if I want to flash an RUU does my phone have to have a LOCKED bootloader?
Currently mine is unlocked and on the HTC One X I was not able to use RUU`s when my bootloader was unlocked.

Unsure about going from s-off to s-on but relocking the bootloader should be a simple adb command. I'm pretty sure the bootloader relock command is in the above referenced thread via a link.

Search for a modified hboot then? I believe there are a few that will wipe the message, and you may be able to work from there. Relocking the bootloader would just be fastboot oem lock on most devices, but...
...you do remember that your device essentially is logged the moment you unlock your bootloader, right? HTC will know you unlocked the device because you needed their boot keys.
S-off with revone you can relock bootloader with it saying locked and revert back to s-on with simple commands found in 2nd post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314582. Once done, you can run RUU
