[Q] bootloader unlock for lg optimus 4x hd 466-92 - LG Optimus 4X HD

I know the the EUR bootloaders can only be unlocked at this time, but is anyone currently working on a bootloader unlock for the rest of us? Or is there a workaround that I can't seem to find anywhere on the internet? Call me desperate but i really want this thing unlocked. It was a pain in the nads waiting for root and now I got screwed out of an unlocked bootloader. I'm on SW version: 988020b-466-92.

They haven't find a solution for locked bootloaders. I hope they will find a solution soon

The bootloader is only unlockable with Jelly Bean, ie. v20a/b/c. If you're still in a v10x, you need to update your phone's OS to JB before trying to unlock your bootloader. You can do it simply with the LG official tool.

Is still there someone with developer/retail 4X?

nobody asked about it, so i have to
i read somewhere that this 4X version could help with bootloader..
Hmm, has anyone tried comparing the bootloader, bin from a stock 4X to one from the developer ones, to see what if anything is different?

the lock is not in the bootloader, but only the check for a lock is. so nomatter which bootloader, you will probably get a locked bootup or unlocked depending on model.
anyways how will you compare that bootloader? i believe only wkpark extracted the bootloader from official distribution kdz file, no developer kdz exists so you can compare, and i believe bootloader allocation is not found within mmcblk0 area, so it will be hard to compare the memory.
I was thinking looking at the assembly of both and seeing what is different. It was just a suggestion that wouldn't work hahha. What im kind of looking for at the moment is a guide on 2nd init. (I cant figure out how to get it to boot.etc, i know its something to do with the DRM, i basically dont know where to get started.) other than 2nd init i am also looking at a custom stock rom....

i found that too
it means bootloader is completely issolated from the system itself
and the OS doesn't have access to bootloader or its info for that matter

[Q] Bootloader unlock allowed: No

Ok, so I've upgraded to 4.3 and lost my root. As far as I know, to get root on 4.3 I will need unlocked bootloader to flash custom kernel and/or ROM. Unfortunately in the Service Info / Configuration of my phone it says: Bootloader unlock allowed: NO. So here's the question: is there any method of unlocking the bootloader other than official from Sony? Looking at the Xperia Z and ZL forums looks like there isn't, but maybe someone had succeeded on the Z1?
Thanks for any information.

if that's all you have to say, you can go back to your pre-school now.
Please do some research first.
there is no way to unlock it
That's what i was afraid of. So is there a chance to root it some how?

I would say, since the camera BL unlock bug is fixed just unlock the bootloader.
Then you have no worries about root
Yes i had my phone already on 2,3 GHz..this is the S800 stock clock speed, but Sony has downclocked it to 2,15 on stock.
Bu i really felt no difference
At the moment the best way for Locked Bootlader it's on this thread, Page 2, Post #16

Why not OC higher than 2.3? I remember back when I had a HTC phone I OC from 1.2ghz to 1.8ghz. Have you tested at higher clocks?

Ohh whoooops I see now. It's a bit complex for sure. I rather wait for a easy one click root once available for 4.3
Im sure it will happen eventually. :good:

If I'm not wrong, if you want to overclock, you'll need a custom kernel, which requires an unlocked bootloader.

You are not. For OC is required a custom kernel at most. +1
