THANKS:
Big Thanks to Tiny4579 for getting Wifi working and for supporting the project with his kernel.
Big thanks to Greeneyes2910 for making this possible.
Thanks to Devs PonsAsinorem, Flagmax, Ljjehl and Zachf for the time they spent helping me bounce ideas off of.
Also a thanks to invisiblek and cmlusco for the base files.
And of course HTC too.
SCREENSHOTS:

Greeneyes is the one I just hit up for a wifi fix TheRiseM does not know much

Your main error is
Code:
AndroidRuntime(11867): java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to instantiate application com.android.htcdialer.DialerApp: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.android.htcdialer.DialerApp
Do you have HTC Dialer in the ROM?
(since I haven't really seen you around, I'm going to assume you don't really know my situation. I can help troubleshoot and give you ideas, but it takes me 5-8 hours to download these ROMs, which I'm not going to do because they change so frequently).

And I completely understand that situation; I used to have an issue with my cable for a week while they were fixing it. My net was as slow as adsl.
I was actually here about a year ago actively. But got an Evo3D and did my thing there for a bit. Now, I want the same things for Inc as my Evo had.

I think the dialer is there .... if you want I can make a mirror as I am working on the project to that may have faster down speeds

So far, I've fixed the Camera and the acore issue and the dialer issue.
It's uploaded now also.

Oh ok I getcha .... That is seriously like my upload speed so I can see where your problem comes in

What I did so far was I took wpa_suplicant, wifitools and wpa_cli from the cm9 and copied over to bin.
Then I added :
rild.libpath=/system/lib/libhtc_ril.so
ro.ril.def.preferred.network = 4
ro.telephony.default_network = 4
wifi.interface = wlan0
wifi.supplicant_scan_interval=45
mobiledata.interfaces=rmnet0
ro.com.android.dataroaming = trueto the build.prop
Then made sure eth0 was changed to wlan0 in the conf files.
And then lastly, I took the wifi permissions from etc and copied over.
Also, added the base gps.conf
As of right now I believe I have cell service and/or data.
But not sure because I don't have a carrier for this device.
But I believe I did because the timezones don't have to be set manually anymore.
So I need some help testing it if it works or not.
Wifi is still a no go but it is getting better.
I don't see the same error messages I was seeing as before in the logcat.
EDIT: Just fixed Sdcard mount indevice. Can listen to music and view pictures now
Uploading ver 1.4 now.

I was gonna test the cell/dialer but dev-host is down atm.

ver 1.4 is up now.

Ok it looks like dev-host is back.
EDIT: Ok thanks. I will post my findings in this post so not to clutter.

Ah, clutter away, lol. Almost done uploading.
I'm about to head to bed but i will be on a different Rom on my phone and keeping an eye on it.
I can't wait myself to find out or not if cell service, data, gps and bluetooth work.

Well I amazed to see the progress! I want to congratulate everyone who is involved.
Works:
Cell Service- Earpiece, Mic and Speaker phone all work. Sound very loud but a little noisy in my opinion.
SMS - Text send and receive
Dialer - calls out and works during call
Compass - works in Speedview app
Music - plays through speaker
Don't work:
WiFi - error
Data - can't turn on
Bluetooth - can't turn on
GPS - checked but still don't work
Camcorder - crashes

Do you have any more information/ideas on why it's the ramdisk? That quote is not much to go on, and contains zero information on how this is relevant to the inc's problem.

Last night the Dialer showed up and worked just fine. I flashed ToB rom in morning for few hours then did a full wipe and put 1.4 back on and now Dialer not showing up.

[ROM] Ruby 1.1.4 Reports

Similar to my thread based around CM 6.1 progress and reports on the latest nightlies, I present what should become a telling collection of anecdotal evidence.
Ruby 1.1.4 was released and many users are very satisfied with its performance. As 1.1.1 now appears old hat, and its original thread is waning and reads like War and Peace, please refer to this post for future observations. What I would like to see is:
1. Bugs encountered that are repeatable only after a full wipe
2. Glowing reviews and/or recommendations for bits some users are unfamiliar with
3. Odd errors that perhaps we can assist with (ie. known fix)
4. Chatter about the upcoming release of Ruby 1.2 for the Inc
I look forward to any and all suggestions, input, feedback, and all around camradery. Also, keep the flames to yourself

Well, thanks for the opportunity...
I have been using Ruby 1.1.4 as my daily driver for the past two weeks or so and find it to be perfect for my use. Although I have strayed to check out the latest and greatest, HD, Z, Feather, etc. I always come back to Ruby.
Everything works. I've added the popular mods, i.e. signal fix, etc., removed some apps that I don't like or use and I'm really happy with Ruby overall. Looking forward to 1.2.
Can't say the same for some of the vanilla apps like mail and gallery, but there are suitable replacements for those available via the market.
My thanks to the Ruby crew...

Yea it's down, teamdouche doesn't have any gapps listed at the moment. A quick search I found a mirror but have not confirmed this is the same thing. Use if you like, otherwise wait for someone to provide a mirror.

Full build. Running stable so far, no noted issues.
I've been running 1.1.4 for a couple of days. I don't use Bluetooth very often, so I've only installed the RIL patch. Together with ADW Launcher I'm very happy with this ROM.
The only bug (or missing feature) I found is in regards to the Pattern lock. When I enable it, the unlock screen no longer shows up so I can't use the music controls. However, if I enable the PIN-base lock the unlock screen works just fine. In all Sense ROMs whenver I enable the Pattern lock the unlock (tabular) screen does not go away. I filed a bug at CC ROM's website. This seems like something trivial, so hopefully they'll get it in in the next release.
EDIT: You might want to add to the OP the url link for the RIL update, I've been using it and haven't experience any 3g issues.

Ruby 1.1.4 still says it's 1.1.1 in my about screen.

As far as I know, it's less of a missing feature than a feature in itself. CM, ShadowROM, all the AOSPs I've tried have that "feature."
However, I too am annoyed by it xD But it seems intentional.
Where can I find the RIL patch?

Nice to see my patch is still doing something for you guys. I wonder if they will ever release an official version again.
I almost feel like pulling down the code and compiling a version with the fixes in it...
Can we use the Gapps zip from 1. 1. 1....
How is GPS working in this version? I don't know if it was the RIL or 1.1.1 but I noticed that the cell triangulation (ie. the blue circle that pops up when you first open maps) broke somewhere along the way. Pinpointing GPS would work but it was very slow (takes at least a minute or more).
At first I didn't mind the wait but I realized it caused a lot of apps that require your location (Poynt, Where, etc.) to stop working.
Odd thing is on a clean install GPS pinpointing would always be almost instant but subsequent to that it would get slower and slower. Curious if anyone else is encountering the same.
I have three questions about 1.1.4:
Does EMMC work on Ruby? I mean like in gallery and music. Itt works on Cyanogen but now Shadowrom or inc does. Thats the biggest determining factor of my using Ruby.
is it possible to get the black vanilla messenger from Cyanogen?
Also, the black bar theme that Ruby has, gives you the HTC battery icon, however I prefer the vanilla android battery. Is it possible to make a theme from the changes I made in Cyanogen?
Also if you want EMMC to mount on windows, this fix was posted I dont know if it works on ruby, if you're brave you can give it a try:
http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/detail?id=2236
Ok. So im a little confused on the bluetooth issue. Is there a link to the fix or no?

I would suggest using the one posted in the 1.1.4 download link. The op in that link also suggested to use only 1.1.4 themes...meaning that if the 1.1.1 you were using has not been ported over to 1.1.4 don't try to install it.

I've had the 1.1.4 (clean install) for 4-5 days, so hard to tell, but on Tuesday I used the GPS with Maps for about an hour and it worked great. I'll report in a few weeks if I ever use the GPS again.

EMMC works on Ruby. However, it seems that you can only mounted on a Mac, not on a PC. I connected the phone to my PC at work and it only recoginized the SD card. However, when I connected it to my Macbook it detected both EMMC and SD card.
By "black vanilla messager" you are referring to the Text Messaging app or the Google Talk? If you are talking about text messaging, there is a setting that allows you to change the background to black. In regards to the themes, I would suggest you stick with the themes made for 1.1.4 (as in the download link). If you want specific changes to the them the OP suggested contacting the created of the specif theme you are interested in.

[wip][kexec] [aokp and cm10] jb 4.1.2

New Builds - December 30 - I don't know if anything changed, I just sync'd repos and compiled it. But it's newer, eh!
MAKE SURE YOU WIPE DATA/CACHE AND SYSTEM AND INSTALL THIS ROM TO A FRESH ROM SLOT. Don't complain about non-working or strangely behaving apps if you flash over an old install without trying this first.
Based on the work of the All-Powerful Hashcode (source), here are fresh builds of AOKP JB and CM10.
Still no working camera. However, includes the sensor fix from Jarveson (Thanks!). HW codecs re-activated (thanks Hashcode!)
Updated repos, minor tweaks to get it to build correctly (Solana github repo doesn't build successfully as-is). See the posts ~ pg 153 of Hashcode's official thread.
Use gapps 20121011 available at your nearest filehost.
Download:
/mediafire/solana
For our friends on the other side of the Great Firewall:
CM10 Dec 15
These are ALPHA test builds (as noted by Hash) and a constant work in progress. I recommend flashing into a secondary ROM slot until you feel comfortable.
Thanks to Hashcode, dhacker, jonpry, jarveson, Google, AOKP, CM and everyone else who made this possible.
Kernel Included? version?
Gapps included?
Thanks for your work on the D3
Oh yeah, FIRST
Always wanted to do that
Thanks for this! I will finally test it today (didn't have time).
Maybe you're interested in including the fix I use for making the D3 wake with keyboard keys also.
For me at least, it was one of the first things I missed on kexec ICS/JB.

Awesome build, but I'm looking forward for a Cyanogenmod build as well.
CM build
I'll start a CM10 build tonight or tomorrow, depending on how I'm feeling. Been a busy weekend working and lots of late nights getting just AOKP to work cuz it's my primary.
In theory it shouldn't be too difficult, because AOKP is CM based. But I'm no professional, I just do this for the enjoyment.
Will keep you guys posted.

I've been talking to another user about this. Turns out that the stock messaging app is still affected by the MMS bug. I've always used a third party app so I didn't notice when I did testing. Sorry everyone.
But it works with a third party messaging app definitely. GoSMS is my present choice. Used to be Handcent but it's gone down the drain IMO the past year.
Yes mms no workie in stock. Go sms seems to work though.

Hmm MMS works on the 883 radio from T-Mobile. Maybe it's something in build.prop? Maybe it's APN settings? I think CDMA carriers still use APNs.
Already went down the road of apn. Everything was correct in mine. Went ahead and deleted and re entered, no change in built in sms/mms app. Wouldn't know what to check in build.prop.

I did the same and it seems to be working well. I've only had one phone call and the phone app did crash when the call ended. I *think* the called party hung up first. The sensor fix is very nice - I was somehow regularly getting into the settings menu with my ear and changing stuff before it
I think the only thing I miss at this point is the audio out via the car dock special usb cable. I've thought about trying to help figure that one out, but the last programming I did was in the late 80's in C, so the learning curve is gonna be kinda steep. I have installed the sdk on my Fedora machine. We'll see if I can get motivated to figure out how to actually do anything with it.

If you understand C well, you might actually not have too hard a time, especially if Android is C++. I have no idea though.
set up
if anyone would like to get their machine going for development, i made a blog post (my first serious one ever) about setting up Ubuntu 12.10 properly to compile Android from source.
https://soupdawg.wordpress.com/2012...-for-building-android-jellybean-all-variants/
all the other guides i've seen are up to 12.04, and setting up the correct JDK is unique on 12.10
good luck everyone!
NOTE: my process.phone always crashes after calls. it doesnt seem to impact anything, i still run it day to day just fine. i'll try to track it down and see whats up. i think it's because of the hack i had to do to get the ROM to compile correctly. frameworks/base in its natural state from the repo causes build errors.

DHO's Vanir (Beta) for Maserati - Android version 4.3

http://www.emccann.net/dho/3-Vanir-mirror/4-nighties/08-21-2013/
Here is a link to a great piece of work in progress.
This thread is DHO approved, I personally asked if I could post a thread sharing his work for the D4 and he gave me the go.
I went ahead and asked DHO if he could tackle development for this device as I feel the Droid 4 lacks in the development scene in comparison to most phones. Being that he's an awesome guy. without hesitation he took the challenge and within a day he has a working build.
It's the very very first build and his first time working on a device like this one so expect some minor and i mean MINOR bugs.
As each build is released you'll see improvements with each one, this guy does great work. In my opinion he has the best AOSP rom for the i605 which is the device I have. I had asked him to make this for my girlfriend as she owns the D4.
If you download, find DHO and thank him. If you like the work, donate. If you do not enjoy the work, move on silently but still hit that "thanks" button cause he still took time to make it or y'all.
If you guy's are thankful, hit "thanks"...after all I payed and am going to continue to pay him for building for this device. (He absolutely did not ask for money, I just felt it was right to do so considering he is investing his time into another device when he already builds for like 15 others)

Just to note, the very first build, it didn't have working hard keys but he may have fixed and reuploaded...if he hasn't he will...also if you guys install this please try your hardest to get him some logs
LOGS LOGS LOGS!
I assure you, if you get this man a log, the bug will be SQUASHED ASAP!
Could we possibly do a pure base PA3?
I've been trying to build out ParanoidAndroid3 and it doesn't work for me... Willing to my phone on the line as well...

Is it possible to get some info on the ROM and maybe screenshots? I have never heard of Vanir and tried googling and for some reason got nothing?

Vanir/Commotio is a team that started building for Gnex initially, it's not a port.
Wifi does work, try a reboot or go into terminal , type su, then wifical.sh
the rest you are correct about.
I will try to get screen shots and maybe more info when I have more time

Another maserati build is up for 8/22
For you people who are running or even just trying, if you experience any bugs please do your best to get a log. LOGS LOGS LOGS!
I assure you that DHO will work on fixes and squash them bugs if you get him a log...it is hard for me to get logs for this device as I don't own it my girlfriend does and she isnt always able to let me tinker with it so please get logs for us to get a better well rounded rom.
I am pretty sure this will be the fastest and most buttery rom for this phone if we all work together and get DHO logs of bugs we occur

download that baby!
Has anyone else tried this. Curious as how its working. Screenshots maybe?

Just tried out the 08/22 build.
My observations:
Like the look and feel. Pretty quick in the limited amount of time I tested. Lots of mods/customization options. Keyboard works just fine. Hard keys are not working but can work around using pie control. More interesting is auto-rotate IS working. Last I checked this was still not working on CM10.2. Did not get a chance to test wifi and, like je2854 said, the dialer is not working. Doesn't force close, just brings up blank screen.
So, still some bugs to be worked out but a pretty solid start. Looking forward to seeing how this progresses. Thanks DHO and ahjee.
P.S. I tried to take a screen shot but the power button + volume down did not work. Is there a different way of taking screen shots in 4.3 or is this just a bug?

have you used the Xposed Modules for 4.3? it works without fail.
another nightly was released for you guys yesterday...check it out and get some logcats please, DHO can't fix the bugs for this device if the users don't report bugs to him and log cats help so much as it basically points out in the log what is going wrong so he can go through and fix...i know i sound like a broken record but I'd like for him to get as much info as he can cause the end result will be a buttery smooth, fluent, stable and well performing rom!

can you link me to a working xposed module for framework for 4.3? the one i used for my Note 2 does not seem to work for my girlfriends D4...
Would it be possible that HDMI will work for us?
HDMI is the only reason why I have a stock based rom.
Nightlight 27/08, dialler and soft key not work

umm, If I cannot find the link I will post as an attachment (sorry for the original poster if they see this)
Thanks for reporting the bugs you guys experience, I have relayed the bug list over to DHO for him to work on...He will get the hard keys working, this whole time he thought i meant the keyboard so he kept trying to get that to work when they already had haha, now the he knows we mean the hard keys such as Menu, Home, Back and Search i bet the next nightly or two will have them working without doubt...the others may or may not be done next build but soon enough
I appreciate the feed back but guys please try to get log cats via an app in the market or using ADB please, it allows him to see whats going on within the build and why things arent working...
expect new builds with bug fixes real soon.
Problems still found in the night 09.05.2013:
- Buttons (Menu, Home, Back and Search) do not work
- Dialer does not work (hangs when pressing any number)
- Virtual keyboard appears even using the physical keyboard.
does 3g work on this rom im trying to find a 4.3 rom that 3g actually works I cant get it at all on the 10.2 nightly

PAC4.3 FOR P4 [021113], if you want phone call, skype over bluetooth, check out!

Hi every body.
I have the test build from PAC-MAN rom for our P4 and tested it for long time and I think this built is good enough to share with you.
My build is sync with PAC-MAN on 02/11/13, with Inframous Kernel with my modified some. This rom maybe my last Rom to share with you.
OK what this ROM has....
1. All PAC-MAN features. (This is not PAC-MAN Official built, because I am not the PAC-MAN member, want to be a member but don't know how to apply, if you are member of PAC-MAN please guide me on this..) . Thanks very much to PAC-MAN for great ROM source.:highfive:
2. All Infamous Kernel (built with gcc 4.6) with my modified code to make " phone call recording, clear voice from kernel ".
3. Voice call recording out of box with 3rd party app like "CallRecorder / com.skvalex.callrecorder"
4. Phone app, turn on speaker by default and no more voice losing when screen off, you can talk all you want to, but with out Bluetooth. I recommend you to flash modem driver from my previous build or from other that can make a phone call.
5. Premount "preload partition with rw so you can use it as you need.
6. Full function Bluetooth on VOIP call, but sometime you have to turn off and on BT again on skype call.
7. Working TTS from 'tonyp non-neon app' , and thanks to tonyp for this great mod apps.
8. Preinstall SamsungApp, GAPP4.3-20130813 lastes one.
Grab your ROM here -->https://db.tt/qpKKI2kv UPDATED!
Like my work -- HiT Thanks.

Great! Thank you very much man. I'll keep you posted about my impressions.
WiFI and HomeScreen issues
Hi man,
I've been testing the ROM for a couple of days. Sorry to say I'm not using it... I've got a P4 (P7500) with I9103XXLQ3 baseband version (modem) to be able to make voice calls.
First trouble was setting up WiFi in the initial setup. I wrote the password, everything looks good, it configures the network and... don't connect. Doesn't matter what you try, you have to wait a few minutes then it automatically connect, and everything continues... strange. Let's continue.
Once the google account was configured, the automated download process of all the playstore apps fails. It only gets right the updates. Of course you can install everything manually again, but... anyway, not a major problem. I'll do in on demand.
First impressions are very good. Fast and smooth... open the settings panel... WOW. That's quite impressive. It's the most customizable ROM I've ever seen on this device. Awesome. Good to see there is a Tablet UI, which I prefer. Everything runs like a charm... youtube, camera...
And then, WiFi is out again. Same issue. Doesn't matter what you do, it takes some time until it reconnects. So it's not a bug of the initial setup... worrying...
Finally, there are some random glitches on the home screen, where the status bar appears and disappears, and everything goes black.
Everything I've tried runs flawlessly, but the annoying flickering of the home screen and the less occurring WiFi losts made me move on to another build. However, no unexpected errors, reboots... anything.
If that could be solved, I'm pretty sure I'd stay on it. PACMAN settings are so nice... and it runs really fast! But...
Thank you so much for the job, it is very promising... Hope to see you soon with a corrected build!
