samsung keypad - Captivate Themes and Apps

hi, im new here, i'm looking for samsung keypad for CM9 does anybody knows if this exist at all, i've been looking for it, no luck i hope someone can help me with this.

You mean like a bluetooth keyboard case? It may exist but nothing comes to mind. If you mean a full sized keyboard just hook it up via bluetooth, or USB with an adapter for the port. Then just change to USB host mode. That's what I used to do for my tablet at least.

this one
i'm saying this one, it does not come with cyanogen 9, the pic is here if anyone know anything please help me

Not sure, sorry, kind of looks like swift key from what I remember. I like the JB keyboard, any reason you're still on cm9? Just curious.
But if anyone knows what keyboard that is feel free to chime in

there's no particular reaseon but, if i change to cm10 then is there a way to put samskung sotck keyboard?

Changing ROMs shouldn't make a difference whether you can install a keyboard or not, you'd still have to find it. I just don't see the point in running an outdated version of android when the Captivate can run JB very well.
Is there any reason you want the Stock keyboard other than looks?

i already have have CM10.1 with android 4.2.2, so how do i install the samsung keyboard on it?

yes there's a reason, my fingers write better on this keyboard, android keyboard is smaller than stock samsung keyboard.

You have to find it and install it. I'm not sure what it would be called or if you could simply extract it from the Stock ROM.
But can you answer my question from the previous post? I'm only asking because there are a lot of better keyboards out there.
EDIT: Ah understood, sorry post timing was off. Have you tried Swift Key? I just don't know exactly where to get the keyboard you're looking for.

Sure thing, sorry SwiftKey didn't workout well for you. If I find anything close to the Samsung Keyboard I'll shoot you a PM or post it here.

Try Smart Keyboard. The keys are larger just like in Samsung keyboard, it supports themes and is very feature rich. You may configure it to look and act like Samsung keyboard. Supports many languages + downloadable predictive text dictionaries. This is what I use. I don't like default Android keyboard either. Trial version is available too.

I have tried Swiftkey and Swype and personally prefer Swype myself. Swiftkey didn't seem nearly as accurate on their swiping.

Cootek TouchPal v.3

Has anyone tried it yet? Does it work? Looks nice, probably way better than the diamond one. I'm still waiting for my diamond so I can't try it out myself. If someone would be so kind, I'd really appreciate it.

Yes, Touchpal v3 is better then the Diamond one...
There are lots of staff in Touchpal V3 which Diamond one doesn't have.....
Does it also work in landscape mode? That is if you change the screen orientation by some other program first...

TouchPal 3
I have been using Touchpal 3 for a while. I wouldnt use anything else. It is a great keyboard. You can change swizes on the fly, change keyboards instantly, store passwords and phrases. Works and looks great on my TD. Skinnable....get it..much better than TD keyboard.

I must totally agree, great keyboard
I have it installed too, it is a great Keyboard but I have been experiencing lock ups when using it so currently using diamond one! gonna try going back to it again soon, see if the lock ups come back!!
Rich
Make sure you install in main memory, I've had lockups on TouchDual if installed in storage...
I can't get it to work. Intalls then says it needs to reboot to finish, then when it comes back on - nothing there?

Make sure u download the version for Windows Mobile 6.1
I had the same problem, after downloading TouchPal for WM 6.1 everything worked fine
Better use FingertouchPro directly.
It's by far superior, supports several languages, and uses very little CPU. All in one, it's a more compact product, designed with high speed text input technologies , I've seen two on the website: www.fingertouchpro.com
Why choosing touchpal when are several other (better) alternatives?

I did, unfortunatelly
I tried it and had to give up. There is absolutely no way to move the 'space' key in the T9 layout, unlike the other layouts. Which makes it unsafe to use when holding in the right hand I find.
Did you enable "Allow drag able keys"?
I have no problem moving the keys around, ncluding space.
TouchPal V3 the greatest SIP by far. Ever since I had started using it I rarely use the slideout hardware keyboard on my TyTn II

It does work in landscape mode, but not as you might expect:
it will not scale the buttons like for the iPhone. You will get left and right borders, so it is not easier to type with.
But: I bought it, the swifting feature is wonderful. Just try it, you have some day of fully free usage!

Better? Maybe in your opinion.
I, and many other people, find Touchpal much better and more advanced than the alternatives.
From the tone of your messages, it sounds like you had some problem with Touchpal...well fair enough, but maybe you should describe what the problem was?
I've been using Touchpal for some months, first on my Touch Cruise, and now on my Diamond, without any major problems. With the latest version 3.5 is just gets better and better.
Ben
Is version 3.5 really that much better then the Diamond's own keyboards ?
Obviously the sliding of keyboards and stretching are cool... but are the keys that much easier to use ? I know its not that expensive, but it still takes up space and cpu cycles on the phone.
Maybe good idea to see how well I get on with the built in keyboards first then instal the trial.

Have looked everywhere and don't see that as an option. I can move the space key in the usual keyboard layouts but none other.
Any ideas where the setting is?
Cheers
EDIT
Apparently you can't move the space key in T9 layout due to the disambiguation that occurs down left side. A HUGE mistake in my opinion as having the space to the right makes this a very unsafe keyboard to use right handed. My Diamond is too precious to risk dropping for a space key. Back to the original T9 for me then! That's a lost purchase on CooTek side.

EZ-Input 2-Like SIP Keyboard

I am looking for an SIP keyboard similar to EZ-Input 2. I really like how the keys are so big an easy to use, almost like the Iphone keyboard. I can't use the one in the developers sub forum, since I just discovered that it was the cause of my hardware keyboard to not function correctly. If anyone has a version of it that works, or another suggestion, let me know. Thanks.
Try using FingerKeyboard 2.1. I use it and it's very good. It has haptic feedback and pops up the keys pressed just like the iPhone Keyboard. Very good from my part.
Thanks. I have used it before, and will be using it again now for the time being. I was wondering though if there were any keyboards with even bigger keys though? This would make typing even easier.

[SOLVED] .apk for Gingerbread keyboard for HD builds

Finally, there is now a .apk for a simple install of the new Gingerbread keyboard.
It has been confirmed working for MCCM HD and MDJ Desire HD build so it should work for all the other HD builds.
The .apk files can be found here.
I would love to get this working as well. To shed some light, it does work on Motoman's black and blue, which is based off of MDJ's rEVOlution 2.0. So I know it is sense compatible, just not Desire HD compatible.
I would love if someone got this working!
This is the error log when FC. I cant look at it now but I suppose lib files needs to be changed. I have no C-coding capabilities.. so..
http://pastebin.com/hjERAKe0
+!. I would love this too, it's the only thing missing from MDJ's RevolutionHD build. I honestly don't think many people are bothered though, the problem is that once I'd tried it with a Froyo build it's horrible going back to the HTC one. So unresponsive and nasty.
I tried the gingerbread keyboard in darkstones superram build, and man I hated it! How do you guys deal with not have the arrow keys? Especially with copy and pasting, editting, etc...its a pain without the arrow keys.

You don't need arrow keys with the HD builds because you get the zoom and select features when you press and hold on the text area.
But when you mistype and you want to correct a single letter, then tipping with a finger can be difficult... thus i love the arrow buttons!

I am just guessing here but I dont think you have actually tried to pin point where you want the cursor on one of the Desire HD builds. All you have to do is put your finger on the text and it magnifies it for improved accuracy, similar to the iphone really but it works a treat. Saying that though, this improvement over positioning the cursor may have something to do with why it isnt compatible with the Desire HD builds yet. I'm not a programmer but I should imagine it would just be a case of modifying the script to get this to work.
I have not messed with the new Gingerbread keyboard yet, but does the zoom or curser location feature packaged with the keyboard or is that some other sort of small application?
I use Smart Keyboard so i switch between the HTC keyboard and the iPhone keyboard.
(I find Black or darker keyboards harder to type outside, compared to lighter or white keyboards)
A friend emailed me the Gingerbread keyboard and I'm not exactly where to install it?
/SD/Android applications?

I think you have a point with cursor placement, it is the same no matter which keyboard you use. I were just clutching at straws when I suggested it. I'm not a chef or programmer so dont have a clue how to fix the Gingerbread keyboard with the Desire HD builds. I know you have to move the app and lib files into the system directory for CM6, MIUI and I have heard Desire builds, it seems it is only the Desire HD builds where there is a problem as force error pops up.
Maybe soon Gingerbread keyboard will be available with any build, or someone releases a fix for it.
+1 to this, I would LOVE to see a Gingerbread keyboard on MDJ Desire HD!
+ 1 here.
Hope the Android ROM chiefs incorporate it in their next releases while we wait for a gingerbread ROM
+1,, i hope to see this work on hd desire builds too!
as i mentioned in ur other thread i found it i'll also post the link here for those hunting the famous gingerbread keyboard http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=875202

Thanks for the link. It says in the link provided that the build they are using is a cm6 build. However I have downloaded the relevant apk for 2.2 desire_hd2 build and installed it without any problems. After ticking the box in settings and selecting Gingerbread keyboard, the same force close issue comes up.
It seems the Android keyboard works with every build apart from the Desire HD build. Lets hope a solution is found soon.
Just wanna subscribe to this thread
WTH is this stickied?
There isn't even a dummies guide to running Android on a HD2 stickied (even though the threads exist), yet this thread gets stickied?

what's special about it is that we are all INSTALL ADICTS and just have to try it out coz it's out there ....and what others have working must be working on our HD2 with the latest ROM too ...

HTC_IME, much better keyboard than stock

So, for me, the LG keyboard on this phone was pretty annoying from time to time, ignoring keystrokes, the auto-correct was terrible, words not in the dictionary needed to be added from the settings, and I just wasn't used to it. Installed gIMpSTa's HTC_IME mod and could not be happier!
link to his thread here @ xda
You can pretty much make the kb whatever colors you like, add your own background, just make this phone more "you" Not sure if people know about it or not, but definitely worth checkin' out.
I used v27-froyo high res.
Thanks I like this keyboard much better
Also, through the settings, u cn set the volume keys to scroll left/right while entering/editing text which I find awesome and extremely useful on this phone never thought I would miss the trackpad on the incredible but I do. Haha

I just use Swype.
I agree that the stock keyboard sucks. I like swift Key X beta, but have tried Gingerbread Keyboard, but really like Go Keyboard.
I paid for Perfect Keyboard after trying basically everything out there, and have stuck with it. I ran with Hacker's Keyboard for a long time (it's AMAZING), but the landscape mode in Hacker's Keyboard I couldn't deal with any more. I wanted a regular keyboard in landscape mode and Hacker's keyboard in portrait mode. I couldn't achieve that with Hacker's, tried basically everything in the market, found Perfect and it does the job (for me). Might not be your thing, but give it a go. I'd HIGHLY recommend Hacker's Keyboard (especially if you do a lot of ssh'ing from the phone) and I think its free too

Ditto. I bought Better KB way back and really like it too.
I never understand why reviews make such a big deal about the stock KB. It's seriously the easiest thing to customize on your phone aside from maybe the background.

[Q]T9 keyboard

Hello people
I'm looking for a T9 keyboard for our Mini, like the original from Samsung.
I know there is the port for the CM7, but has the bug of not being able to add our words to the dictionary.
I do not like QWERTY keyboards, so I prefer the 3x4 keypads ...
Any suggestions?
