Does anyone have an HTC Trade Up promotional code they're not going to use? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'd really like to take advantage of it because I have an iPhone 3GS that would be perfect to use as a trade in. I would have signed up, but at the time I didn't think I was going to get the One.

You can still sign up I think.
I just got a code a couple of days ago.
http://www.htc.com/ca/smartphones/htc-one/signup for Canada
http://www.htc.com/us/smartphones/htc-one/signup for US
Once you get your code go to

http://www.htctradeup.com/htcone/ for US.

This is for T-mo/sprint/At&t reps only. There is no code. When you login to the HTC Champion website, there is a link to click to order the One. I am in the middle of trading in my old One S for the One now.
Edit: I jsut saw someone post right before me. I didn't know there was one for Customers as well too.

I'll be purchasing the AT&T One if that matters. I'm pretty confused. Does the promotional code come with the phone?

no, you get the code via email after signing up at the first link. (http://www.htc.com/us/smartphones/htc-one/signup) You can register even if you don't have the phone yet.
Then, once you get the email and you buy your One, go to the second link, type in your code and the IMEI of your old 3GS. The site generates a pre-paid return label and a "voucher" barcode. You put the voucher in a box with your old phone and the receipt for your HTC One and ship it out. Then HTC sends you the $100.

The IMEI you enter on the HTC site is of the NEW phone, and it must match up to the proof of purchase receipt. Hope you are able to correct it, it would suck to have it get rejected.

Does anyone know if you can just drop the package with your old phone off at a blue USPS box? They were not very clear on where to drop off the package.

ah crap. I thought it was weird of them to ask for the old IMEI. Ah well, it's sent, we'll see what happens. I mean the IMEI for my new phone is on the receipt after all...

Wirefly friends and family $119.99 Uprade or new

I just upgraded mine and my wife's. for $119.99 each.
I used this on my last upgrades with no issues.
It's not on the homepage but look under sprint phones and they will be there
https://www.wirefly.com/content/mobile-phones/?referringdomain=wiredneirf
Nice offer! Only thing I'm hesitant about is that they say they will begin shipping on 4/19, versus the carrier(s) saying they will ship earlier and that we should have the phone by 4/19.
Anybody have past experience with Wirefly pre-orders?

Thank you.
In the checkout; it reads "Keep My Existing Plan - Add-on Line", is it adding a new line? or upgrading the current "add-on" line?
don't want to get into a mess of adding a new line... thanks again. good deal.
And also is it normal for online retailer to ask for primary SSN and primary Pin when ordering for phone upgrade/extension?
I usually do it at BestBuy and they only ask for account name and password...
This is awesome, would jump on it immediately if they had it in black

<edit> late on posting about black
/wonders if any dev will be working on this device ...
Doesn't necessarily mean that you won't get your phone super late if you preorder the black, though.

I just ordered mine!
I do, however, have a concern. When I got the email, it states this under the order summary:
Qty Description
1 HTC One Glacial Silver Mobile Number: Transfer Existing: (XXX) - XXX - XXXX
1 Keep My Existing Plan - Add-on Line
1 Keep My Existing Data Feature (View Details for Important Disclaimer)
1 Premium Data
What does it mean by the second line, "1 Keep My Existing Plan - Add-on Line"
That's not adding a line, right?
Did you pick upgrade my account or add more lines? If you're not sure, you may want to call and confirm.

I think its just the way they list the reciept. I did upgrade and selected the current plan i had. The $10 data fee is just letting you know your still paying $10 for data not an extra $10.
I used this when i got my epic 4g and we had no issues. We upgraded 5 lines at the time.

Yeah, there should be an option to change the zip code right next to where the city/state is displayed on the main page. (It shows Oceanside, CA because that is where I live.) Look at the top, next to where the "Sprint" logo is-- to the right of that logo, you should see "change carrier" and then to the right of that, you should see the location and the option to change it.
I used my parents' zip code in Houston, and now this link should show a Houston zip. http://www.wirefly.com/eCommerce/SpecialOffer.aspx?cid=26987_b2047b70d85b4b7ba8219d00995cb11a

Ok, I feel like a complete idiot. How exactly do I go about getting the $100 for a trade-in? I have my old EVO 4G that I’d like to send back, but if I go to the following link, it says that I’m only eligible for $16:
http://www.htctradeup.com
I'm guessing that isn't the same as this offer for the One:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/0...h-april-26th-following-rumored-launch-delays/
Is the paperwork included with the HTC One and you send in your old phone after you purchase the One, or is there another link to go to in order to find out how to get the rebate? How do we know exactly how much we’ll be getting back from HTC since everything is saying “up to $100”?
As a side question, my brother is thinking about getting this phone and his contract is up for renewal, so can he trade a device in for this rebate as well?

No unfortunately I think this was an offer you had to sign up for about a month ago. I signed up very early and I got an email on March 18th titled "Thanks for registering for the new HTC One®" inside it tells you to goto www.htctradeup.com/htcone and use the code included in the email to recieve either the devices value according to their checker or $100 - whichever is greater.
Good luck!
Update - Ya their site says "Pre-register online (must have been completed prior to April 5th)."
So you get at least $100 plus whatever your phones worth right? And yes I preregistered.

Their main site (http://www.htctradeup.com/) will tell you how much your phone is worth if you trade it in. But if you pre-registered and (from what I've heard from others) confirmed the device you will be trading in and save your information within 30 days of pre-registering, then you will get $100 for your trade-in if it's worth less than $100 on their site.
So, for example, if you wanted to trade in a Samsung Galaxy SIII (which only a crazy person would do), you would receive a $150 visa prepaid card. But if you wanted to trade in a Sprint Epic 4G, that phone is only worth $20 on their site, but I would get $100 for it since I pre-registered and filled out/saved the required info.
Has anyone been able to get past the "save for later" button on this? Or are we waiting for the release date for you to begin the next step in the process.
Contacted HTC button won't work until 19th

You guys might read of the terms and conditions just to be aware.
http://www.htctradeup.com/htcone/?q=terms_of_use
and specifically this:
7.2 Program Requirements. In order to participate in the HTC One Upgrade Program you must have an eligible used device as defined by the on-line Tool. You can identify if the used device is eligible by utilizing the drop down menus to pick the make, model, and carrier for the used device. If you cannot find the make or model and believe this is in error, you can contact the program administrator at Clover Wireless. The Program is only valid within the United States. You must be a minimum of 18 years of age to participate. The Program is not valid on stolen property. There is a maximum of one (1) trade-in utilizing HTC One Upgrade promotion per registrant. A valid proof of purchase is a) an original invoice with the IMEI number printed on it or b) a copy of the UPC code with the IMEI code printed on it. A copy of a UPC code is only permitted once as a valid Proof of Purchases. Clover Wireless has the right to reject any trade-ins for promotional trade-in submissions where 1) the used device is submitted by anyone other than the user of the used device and 2) when the used device was not active at the time of the new device purchase and 3) the trade-in voucher was not agreed to by you and 4) there is an invalid proof of purchase or 5) we believe there to be fraudulent intentions. Without a valid Proof of Purchase, you will not be paid the promotional trade-up amount.

Maybe. At first when I went on the site and entered my code from the email they sent me a few days ago it said like $30 or something for my EVO 3D. Now it says $100 when I enter that, but it says click here when you get your ONE and when I do that and reenter the number it says it is invalid.
Did we have to re-register again? Because I did this when they first announced it..

Its weird, I register for 2 lines back when they started the promotion sign up and I got 2 codes in separate emails. One looks generic code with the number 100 between the letters and the second code has different digits. If I go to the trade page the generic looking code works but it says I have to complete the trade by 3/28/13. The other code comeback as invalid.
I went to the trade in page an put in the informaiton for my evo. I then put in the code in my email and it seemed to work and gave me the "Save for Later" option. I got an email from HTC a short while ago after clicking save for later and putting my email address in. And now it says I have to pre-order and has a pre-order now link at the bottom of the page. I just planned on going into Best Buy tomorrow morning and grabbing one as I got the $50 gift card deal from them back in January. But I want my $100 from HTC.

Don't you love how they offer you a 'deal' for preordering but 2 weeks later they offer a better deal you don't qualify for?
Anyway, I ordered one for my dad 2 days ago which will be delivered today and here I discover this promotion that starts today. I emailed them asking if he can qualify because this offer will buy his EVO 3D for 100 bucks, which is more than I expect him to get from craigslist.
I went to the HTC site and put in my old phone details so I could see how much I would get. I used the promo code "HTC100" as directed. I put in all my info for the trade in phone and it said I could save the info and they would send an email with a link to get back and finish the process after buying the phone.
After I went and got the ONE, I got the email and it had a personal ID # and a link to continue but it just takes me back to the original site that wants me to input all the info again. The instructions in the email say that the link is supposed to take you to a page where you can input the personal ID# that they sent me. I don't see anyplace to do this and unfortunately the HTC100 code only works once so I can't even start over.
Anyone else have any experience with this?

Buy phone outright, new contract???

Hey guys, I just got off the phone with Sprint telesales, was going to order the new HTC One and just buy it outright cuz I'm not do for an upgrade till November and want to save my upgrade anyways. This woman is telling me I have to sign a new 2 year contract!!!! I'm like BULL why would I sign a new contract and prolong my upgrade when I'm paying full price for the phone!!!!!!! Does this make sense to anyone? I just told her bull that I'll wait till it comes to the Sprint store cuz you are WRONG THERE IS NO WAY, I'm signing a 2 yr contract paying full price for the phone, it makes NO SENSE! Or is this something new?
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
MOD Edit: Profanity edited
No that is completely wrong. I bought the phone outright and do not have to renew my contract. If that was the case you would get the phone for the renew price of 249.00. Just go on sprint.com and order it there. Takes 2 days to ship to you.
I dont know how the hell sprint hires so uninformed people. Call back and get in touch with a representative that knows and tell them that you want to buy the phone outright and don't want to upgrade your contract. I would check back once u get your phone to see that your contract didn't change on sprint.com because if happened to me once. U can buy it outright, just need to talk to a sprint rep who knows what she/he is doing and what u r asking for.
Telesales is in the Philippines. They are using computer scripts to help customers and it basically turns them into robots.
Actually I just got one on eBay for $625 so I'll save $75 anyways. Screw those telesales people.

I had trouble too with my order. I first tried to order online but I kept getting an error and a popup message said to call telesales. The rep tried to tell me that I couldn't buy the phone outright because I have a Framily plan and that I could only make the order in person at a store. I made her connect me to her supervisor. Supervisor said that until the phone is physically available at the Sprint stores, the ONLY way to order it was ONLINE, not in person, or over the phone. I then tried again online and it finally went through. :good:
Unless they changed it they do give you a discount after 1 year but it is only $75 off so that might be what they were doing.

I'm surprised people are still getting these.. slow sales of the phone or are people too lazy to go sign up??
when i was trying to enter it gave an error saying invalid IMEI
i contacted the customer support at the bottom of the page and they asked some screenshots of my IMEI and mac address
and gave me the promo code instantly

I had the same exact problem. Also sent the screenshot. Got a response next morning which told me to enter the same exact IMEI and mac address. I did and it worked. Don't have a clue why.

Second this. I bought mine on the 13th, but put 11th on the request form and they still gave it to me lol.
0rdered mine on the 10th but didn't get it until the 17th, had to send them screens wipes of my imei and purchase receipt before they finally sent me the code but I got it
So if it is just a credit, I can upgrade to a higher package, it just won't last a year right?
I remember them saying something it was only for the 2 screens + HD, but I want to try SuperHD
Anyone go for a second promo on a replacement unit?
Got the phone on the 12th and activates it right there and than.
