That's pretty hard too say....I guess a rom that has no android os/system drain bugs.
It depends very much on the installed apps, if they spawn any background processes which constantly poll some things....
The govenor settings....if it scales to a higher cpu state very fast etc...
Personally i use SlimBean, but you can do some optimizations on any rom.
If you want good battery life I suggest to use greenify to hibernate apps with the unwanted background processes. Enable deepsleep and power done bluetooth in semaphore manager. Undervolt the 100mhz step. Force 2g networks. Use a black theme because the amoled display need less energy for dark themes. Use low autobrightness settings and enable data connection only on demand.
You can disable autopolling of emails etc...remove widgets from the homescreen...
You will probably get about two days with medium usage then.

Android system battery drain is this normal?

I have changed my firmware from 10F to 10H as I heard that it is much better. I rooted it and then reset it to factory settings and I deleted some of the bloatware. I used LG gearbox and set the CPU speed to 1000mhz on two cores and used this guide. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2048315
In additions, I installed fast dormancy toggle from here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2021248
Yesterday, I used the phone with light usage such as browsing for a few minutes that's all, but still the android system was on top, I hardly used it why is this?
On the CPU it shows that it was running on 51mhz for more of the time than deep sleep, that must be the reason why the battery had been draining.
android system is more than one app, is the system it self...
Its logic why is on the top
yeh but even wen my phone was not in use how come it was hardly on deep sleep? compared to the galaxy s3 this battery is much worse as on s3 the android system is below the screen and screen is on top for usage. on the s3 when the phone isnt in use it is mostly on deep sleep.

Even in deep sleep the clock is working, the alarm, keys software...
Like when we are sleeping, heart keeps beating, etc...
That's why it's logic to be on the top

Disregard this, the guy is wrong. Your phone should be in deep sleep most of the time.
Could you please obtain "BetterBattery Stats" or a similar program to post screenshots of your kernel and partial wakelocks? This would help us figuring out what is wrong. My friend has the same phone, and Android system is on top for him too most of the time. We are still trying to find out what is going on.

He's right... Sorry, my mistake
When in deep sleep :
In first place should be "Cell standby" and after "Phone idle".
It's what I have in mine...
After 9 hours my battery drain was 1% in deep sleep.

Check the CPU Governor ,, for dual core we set it "hotplug" but about quad core I do not know .
But mainly the problem with governor ,, governor means something like profile . It controls the CPU frequency to get performance or powersave or both of them .
To change governor install any CPU app and you will find it .
Search about governor with quad core in google . Sorry my phone is dual core (Optimus 3D) .

My phone is no longer set to dual core 1000mhz. now it is set to 1500mhz dual core, as lg gear box has stopped working on my phone lol.

The Governor has no influence on any app or system process holding a wakelock. The governor merely controls the way the CPU frequency is scaled depending on load conditions.

Yeah . I know
The governor controls the deepsleep which makes system off
So by the governor can enter deepsleep then the system will off .
I know what I say , I do not post things I'm not sure about them

maybe phones battery isnt calibrate. let battery get empty completely & charge it again. repeat this job several times. then use battery calibration & easy battery saver.

did you make sure your apps running don't keep your phone awake? and that the phone does go into deep sleep?
a bit off topic but my problem is that the battery has been stuck at 24% for the last 12 hrs, I've not been using the phone because the earpiece speaker is broken so waiting to get it repaired. I've tried rebooting the phone and still at 24%, I'm going to play a video until it drains the battery and do a full charge. battery info shows the phone has been on for 2 days 11hrs since last charge on standby most of the time.
battery
i charged the phone yesterday night now the battery is still on 100% with no use all day. if i open wifi or start for example an app the battery goes down like a countdown.whats the problem then?

Battery life

I'm having troubles with my battery, it drains too fast! I've used battery calibration tools, I deinstalled samsung push notifications, I'm using juice defender, screen brightness is around 30-40%, but the battery still gives me about 2-3 hours of screen time, or if I don't use the phone that much, still drains to 10-20% by the end of the day. Any suggestions, please!

well, the battery problem in my case was the Dropbox app...it was keeping my phone awake all the time and the battery lasted 20-22hours tops...
i uninstalled it,restarted it and all came back to normal and by normal i mean 2 days of medium usage, sometimes even 3 days...the battery drainage overnight(6-8hours) is between 3-5% (with wifi and 3g off)...
so,im pretty new to this android world, but check out your 3rd party apps, maybe some of them is keeping your phone away from going into deepsleep when you dont use the phone...cheers
Thanks alot, how can I check when my phone goes to deepsleep?

as i mentioned im fairly new to android world, but if u got to settings>battery and click on the graphical picture, below the graphics that shows the battery usage, you will see info about GPS-on,Wi-Fi,Awake,Screen On and Charging...my guess is that "Awake" should not be full blue bar all the way, since when you dont use the phone it should not be awake all the time...
at least this was my case with my Dropbox app,but i dont know about you...if your phone was OK for some period of time then it suddenly changed its behavior, then i guess you should ask yourself which apps you have installed lately, maybe some of them is causing this...uninstall the latest apps, restart your phone and see if that changes your phone back to normal(you can always install those apps back if this doesnt solve it)...
Get the betterbatterystats app to get accurate battery readings as the built in one doesn't work very well.
Disable all push notifications not just samsung. Facebook, WhatsApp, skype, Gmail even xda and tapatalk.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2175059 Greenify that ****, so your phone can sleep (you will not receive notification when apps "hibernate"), get golden kernel by lupohirp for pegasusq governor and use" noop" settings for better read only memory usage. Use a jet black background image for super AMOLED screen, and finally.. Stop downloading crap! Keep your internal memory clean for better processor and swap file utilization. Hope this helps.

Removable apps in v20A

Hello, I have some overheat issues and low battery performance and I am thinking to remove some system apps amd I want to know which apps i can remove without compromising the phone's performance, to keep it as clean as possible.

Overheating might be due to overclocking your device or you might use your device your while charging. If not the above case there is a app which keeps your awake device awake and keeps using your cpu time! So, install a app called betterbattery stats which gives complete info about your phone's state, apps which your CPU ( which will heat your phone) Better Battery Stats this apps needs root permissions to work at it's full potential. You could remove those apps (stock apps) using titanium backup or remove user app manually!

Thx for the answer.
I dont have it overclocked, its all stock v20A and rooted and I still get the overheat unplugged even with normal use. Its not a big issue but it makes me ask why it get warm with basic usage like Facebook, Whatsapp, and web browsing.
I only ask for suggestions of which apps do you recommend to remove.
I might underclock the cpu too.
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
The phone does heat up. I dont know the reason why it heats up so much in stock V20A. It did not feel that warm in ICS.
I dont know about any stock apps that do cause overheating but LG MLT, Google Transport Service and a few other services are huge battery hogs. You would get extra battery life by deleting them or "Freezing" them. Before I switched to CM to try it out, I felt that the battery life improved and was on par the stock CM.I have now.

hahahahha yes @compacity always problel with the battery life because i change the rom maybe 3 times a week !! and finally when i found a nice and cool one here we are facing troubles so any suggestions Compacity !!
use greenify to control app thats always running, always set brightness (close autobrightness or light sensor) if it got dark theme, use it, amoled doesnt use any led for pure black color. In kernel option, do not OverClock. Close daydream n freezing any app that ur dont use using Titanium Backup (but do this at ur own risk). close any gsync.
thats all, but still, battery saver is not an option.
well.... i see here u enjoy ur fone but please be extra careful when changing or applying any kernel/ROM/tweak.

To add to this (sounds like my daily usage lololololol),
Turn off wifi and 3G when you don't need it, turn off Auto-Sync (its under Data Usage in settings), under Developer Settings tick the long-press back button option (if its there) and the "Don't keep activities) so you at least can be sure that some apps properly close.
You can disable apps under the Apps manager in settings if you don't really want to use Titanium Backup.
Even underclock your kernel if you want and change your governor to conservative or the like, if you don't mind sacrificing performance (although from what I've heard MIUI is pretty solid as is).
But yeah, compacity, sounds like a really good list

or u can use tweak script for auto for force closing app in background n liquidity.
but mr Soryuu, 'tick da Dont Keep Activity' is not recommended, cache quite important in android, if u keep deleting cache background process, it will only drain ur battery n burden da cpu to create it back, eventhough u got more space on RAM, but seriously, RAM is for USAGE, not keep in safebox

Force GPU rendering

Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
There's an option of forcing the 2d GPU rendering in developer options. I don't really know what it does . Should I check the box?
Does it make apps run smoother or consumes more battery? ???
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
I always have that option turned on. I generally think the UI must be rendered with the GPU. This improves performance significantly for me.
Sent from my LG-P880
what version are you running and does this option consume more or less battery?
I'm on Zaiben atm. Don't know if it used more, I have it always turned on. Generally it should only use a little bit more battery.

I have read conflicting reports regarding battery life. Some say it helps, some say it hurts.
I think it hurts bl because the gpu can be quite power hungry, depending on the device. In my personal experience it seems to have hurt my battery life more than it has helped.
