[Q] Locked AT&T Atrix HD doesn't prompt for Sim Unlock - Motorola Atrix HD

So here's what's going on.
I have an Atrix HD that is rooted and the bootloader is unlocked already.
I'm trying to sim unlock the phone to use with straight talk or tmobile.
The problem:
When I insert the tmobile sim, the phone is supposed to prompt with a request for a sim unlock code.
This phone doesn't prompt and it doesn't show signal. "emergency calls only"
I've tried this with two different roms. AOKP and Pac. Both did the same thing. I've also tried a simple mobile sim with each of these roms with no avail. By the way, I do get service with AT&T sim on all the Roms.
What am I missing here?
I see all these threads about unlocking and the biggest issue people are running into is finding the unlock codes. They are out there but they're hard to come by. My issue is that even if I magically had that code, I don't have a way to enter it!
Thank you for any help in advance.
I've searched around to find a solution or reason, but apparently this isn't common.
EDIT:
In case anyone has the same issue, flashing entirely stock software fixed this issue.
It is now prompting for the SIM network unlock PIN.

Have you tried the app found in the market? (you need the original Sim card from where you got the phone and any other company's sim card
Try searching for "SGS unlock" in market place. It should be called the "Samsung Galaxy S Unlock Tool".
Simply Run the app after installing (while using the original Sim card) and it should give you two codes: an unlock code and an unfreeze code.
Once you get them, I suggest writing it down and/or emailing it to yourself.
After that, turn off your phone and swap the sim card to the one you want to use. The phone "should" ask you for the unlock code when you turn it back on and after it has booted. Simply enter the unlock code and you phone should then tell you it's unlocked (if everything works ok otherwise it will say it was unsuccessful).
Note: I am on Bell in Vancouver running the stock 2.1 firmware and it's worked fine for me. There have been people who were not so lucky and it did not work for them. There are even those who have gotten their phone locked due to trying to many time when after it fails to unlock, but that is what the unfreeze code is for. If you're with Orange mobility, I've read that some of their phones were already unlocked. You could always just try a different sim card and see if it accepts it if you haven't done so already.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for replying, new to this site not sure what I'm doing !
When i paid to have the phone unlocked i had already canceled my o2 monthly contract so the phone had no Sim in it when being unlocked, i don't have the o2 Sim anymore, i brought the phone from o2 so they might help me out I'll have to ask them. I've just put a o2 pay as you go Sim in the phone & it didn't ask for the Sim Network Unlock Pin but with the 3 contract Sim it does ask. I have installed the SGS Unlock tool but i haven't run the app. I'm having the phone unlocked again tomorrow so he hopefully can sort it out. Thanks again.
I tried to "SGS unlock tool" and nothing does not give me the codes. When I go to the root gene codes told me: "Sorry, no codes found. File not found: Do you have S Business"
I have no idea what to do.
Is there some other way to decode or knows someone why this is happening?
I also tried with Generate Unlock Windows, error is: can not find nv_data.bin

[Q] Does "SIM network unlock PIN" necessarily mean the phone is just locked?

[Q] Does "SIM network unlock PIN" necessarily mean the phone is just locked?
Hi all, so here's the story - I bought a used Samsung Vibrant (at&t galaxy s 1), upgraded to 2.2 to get the unlock code, unlocked it. I then tested it with my GiffGaff (o2 UK simcard) and it worked fine. Then I proceeded to flash CM7.1 on it and just assumed that it remained unlocked and forwarded it onto my friend in Japan.
Now that he recieved it, he put his softbank sim in and he's getting a "SIM network unlock pin" prompt when the phone is turned on. Now, I'm a bit confused as to why that's happening because I had previously unlocked the phone.
My questions are A) could flashing to a new rom have un-done the unlock? I thought not...but I can't seem to remember if I ever read that or just think that B) does "SIM network unlock pin" indeed only point to the fact that the phone is locked? From the various threads here that I've seen that contain the same message, it appears so...but I just want to double check?
The main issue is that there's another message saying 9/10 attempts, so I'm afraid to just give him (show him how to obtain) the lock code again.... if he did try it, and for whatever reason it didn't work, would it be as good as bricked? (I can remember back in the days when I would unlock the old school non-smartphones that once you reached the X or Y tries for entering the lock pin, it would become unusable)
any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
update: oh man, I just found out that I sent him the wrong captivate...problem solved....his is indeed locked/etc. sorry!

May be any new help to unlock subsidy locked D3???

Hello!
Well, now officially my D3 have one year since it becomes a expensive paperweight since was Subsidy locked by try to sim unlock with several codes from sellers when there no clear info about the lock that VRZ puts in D3...
Well, since so long time since I did my last attemps to unlock it (with kind help of a friend here...) I would like to ask if by today may be possible to flash some more recent hacked/leaked that may allow to unlock subsidy locked D3.
I have 2 codes that seems to be to Moto original form my IMEI and also the code to use in VRZ, BUT since I am not in VRZ network and with no practical way to get VRZ coverage, I wonder if by now may be some hope about thsi nasty issue (also wonder about other users that had also locked D3 and what happen in their cases)
By my side I remenber that I tried evrything about the time and the last resource that I take was try to flash the radio nad other parts of chinese rom in order to try to get an unlock mode without verizon network...
By now my D3 boot normal and I could use it in wifi and may install things and set up for ADB access too... is totally normal except that is subsidy locked son no recognize my carrier sim... with a turbo sim my D3 coul dial voice calls and works but is unstable so as soon I move from my neighborhood the signal is lost and I need to turn of D3 and turn on the sim card in other phone in order to get the sim again recognized by my carrier with turbosim in D3....
Thanks for kind attention and best regards!
Did you try the 883 radio? It may report subsidy locked but just may not like the SIM.

[Q] C6906 "SIM Online Unlock PIN"

Hello! I have an unlocked C6906. Recently, after putting in an AT&T SIM from another phone, the C6906 has started asking for a SIM network unlock PIN. However, the phone is factory unlocked, having been bought from Omega Cell fully unlocked. It has worked on AT&T in the past. In order to test if it's the AT&T SIM, I was able to go into an AT&T store, and verify that it is the phone and not the carrier. Additionally, I was able to take the SIM cards I was testing and successfully insert them (and use them) on other devices.
In order to further test, I bought and inserted a READY SIM pay-as-you-go SIM card. Same result occurs; SIM Online Unlock PIN. No unlock code that I can find seems to unlock it.
Help me, XDA community. I've searched the web high and low, I've flashed all stock firmware, I've done everything short of buying a new phone. I'm at wit's end.
Help!

Problem Registering with Network after flashing GPE ROM

Hi There,
I have been scratching my head for weeks now with no luck after searching hundreds of times for a solution and I hope I can find it here today. I purchased an Sprint HTC One M8 from Best Buy together with an unlock code. I received the phone in Africa and I was excited to try it out. However, when I put in my local carrier Sim Card I could not receive an unlock code request. I tried many fixes but I did not get anywhere.
After days of trying one fix after another, I decided to unlock the bootloader successfully, install a custom recovery (TWRP), I was also able to achieve S-OFF using sunshine's tool and write CID to 1111111. After that I tried different kinds of unlock methods like using config.dat and using the Sim Unlock Helper tool. But no luck.
I went ahead and flashed my device with the Sprint M8 GPE 5.0.1 ROM. I was successful and I noticed under settings - cellular networks I am able to see all network operators in my region. However, when I try registering with my carrier I get a "Sim Card can not connect to this network" message. I do not know why.
When I dial *#*#4636#*#* and access phone information, I selected GSM only in preferred network type. Under select network band there are only 4 options: Automatic, USA Band, Band mode 6 and Band mode 7. I selected Automatic.
I have literally tried everything I can think of as I am kind of new to this. I really hope someone can point me into the right direction in unlocking my device once and for all. I love the phone and I do not wish to sell it off. Please let me know if there is any more information that I can share. Thanks for your time!!
Hello,
Are you still having this problem?? Cause if you do I am really curious if you found a fix for it? I am experiencing the same problems. A friend of mine gave me this One M8 which has no owner anymore so i decided to fix it. I replaced the screen due to water damage and did bootloader and root succesful. I can also see my network providers but as soon as I try to register it also says "Sim card cannot connect to this network". Who has the ultimate fixxx???
Greetings,
Rob
