I switch between recoveries often, and that's a problem. CWM has nice options, but I like some TWRP features at the same time.

This zip is AROMA Installer enabled, so it gives you the option to install 3 recoveries, TWRP, CWM, or CWM Touch.
No more need to store a bunch of flashable zips to switch recoveries (no offense to @Naddict, because his flashable zips are awesome!)
All with the help of a nice UI called AROMA Installer so that you have the option to choose recovery at runtime.
Features
Choice of 3 recoveries to install at runtime
Option to "reboot recovery" after the new recovery is flashed
Thanks/Credits to:
Dees_Troy - TWRP
koush - CWM
koush - CWM Touch
amarullz - AROMA Installer
NOTE: I do not have this device, so be gentle if there are any issues. However, there shouldn't be though,as I only
changed the partition location and img files from the ZIP I made for my S3.

Downloads, Changelog, and Instructions
Changelog:
5.11.13
Initial release - v1.0
Included TWRP 2.5.0.0
Included CWM Touch 6.0.3.1
Included CWM (regular version) 6.0.3.1
Downloads:
pulled temporarily
Instructions:
Download the zip and place it somewhere you will be able to find it
Boot into recovery (Power off and Home+VolUp+Power, or choose "Recovery" from your custom reboot dialog after choosing "reboot" from power off menu)
Go to the install menu and select the zip you downloaded
Wait for AROMA Installer to open up and then choose one of the three recoveries to flash
Select whether you want the mod to reboot into your newly flashed recovery. Box checked = reboot into new recovery after flash, unchecked = do not reboot into new recovery after flash

Just in case.

This sounds interesting!!!

EDIT: Done uploading.

Very cool

Confirmation that it works fine, anyone?

I have not tested yet but I thought aroma stuff was pretty sketchy atm.

Thanks, make sure you select "copy logs" at the end of the installer and then post that here (between "HIDE" tags) if there are issues
Note that you will not get the option to copy logs if you have the "reboot" option selected, as it will reboot before Aroma Installer gets to its "exit" screen
@everyone
Updated OP with instructions.

Oh I was referring to some ROMs not using aroma and the ROMs that are aroma will lock up etc. Its why when we I saw aroma it was curious.

Ah yeah, but that only happens when you press the back.button sometimes. I still love it either way, one of the best things to come to Android since Android itself IMO

Someone please confirm that this works properly. Thank you

I'll test. Give me a minute to download and flash

Awesome, here's a link to one that prints some debugging info:
When you choose CWM Touch (in the version above), tell me what it says on the Flashing screen, it should print something like this:
Code:
Now flashing ....
Recovery location: [b][/B]
Tell me what it says in that bolded part, or if its just empty.

Are you sure its not a bad download? I literally just downloaded the one for the m7, switched the .img files, and changed the mount partition and it works.
Make sure its not an issue on your side please...

[Guide]HTC Salsa Recovery Programs

The current working Recovery systems are as follows.....
I actually got bored this evening and flashed every known recovery setup i could find lol...believe me there's a lot of them lol!
These are for everyone but use with caution.
I will of course add any working recovery programs available to us up asap. I am aware of a few 5.0.2.7 CWM but i yet to find a working one. 5.0.2.8 as far as i know doesn't work, the copy found in these boards is a port and isn't reliable.

This recovery is nice to use, quick and smooth, but by using this, you cannot backup ext2/3/4 (sd-ext)
It backs up everything else nicely and smaller than CWM.
ClockWorkMod 5.0.2.6
This is the Normal Recovery Program that we all use.
Now Installation of these is easy.
Now everyone should by now if there here looking at this, be able to get to bootloader..! (I hope anyway)
If not follow these steps
1-Take battery out
2- Insert battery
3-Hold the volume down key and press the power button at the same time.
now Hboot menu will appear, wait for it to do its check etc.
4-Select fastbootmodeNow you need you PC Cable plugged into the fone and PC, i am also assuming by reading this you already have adb cmds setup and know the basics of using them. For those that don't please search the appropriate threads in these sections for those details.
5-Open the DOS cmd window in Windows and get to your adb folder.
Example (c:/android-sdk/platform-tools)
you will need the recovery.img file which will be listed below this thread for download, place into the c:/android-sdk/platform-tools folder. Unzip the files which contain recovery.img into the c:/android-sdk/platform-tools using winrar/winzip program.
6- using this cmd > fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (copy and paste into the cmd window)
it will now flash the recovery.
once done, unplug your cable from the phone and select bootloader option.
now wait till it searches again, and then scroll down and seldet recovery.
These recoverys are designed buy users for users, raidzero recovery does not have any support any-more, CWM for us isn't official either, but both work!
By undertaking these steps i hold no responsibility to damage of any-kind to your phone, not that anything will happen!

I was going through the Salsa Dev forum, and this is the latest CWM available as of now. I tried going to link provided in the post, but it is a github repo and I don't know how to build the recovery using this repo. Can you please help me here?
I am planning to install CM11 ROM from here once I done installing with CWM 6.0.5.0.
I tried posting in the thread itself, but I cannot post in any development thread as I am new to this forum.

Exactly what I was thinking but wasn't sure. Thanks
It installed fine on mine, then when I went to install GAPPS it went all wonky on me.
It just keeps telling me that the setup wizard has crashed. Now even if I wipe and flash the rom clean, i still get setup wizard errors and cannot continue.
Gets tons of errors with the 4.1 gapps. Guess we don't have a 4.2 gapps?
Looks like a severely broken cm10 to me. Thanks!

Or just remove that assert line from the 10.1 updater script. That's all you need to do. Don't use the cm10 file as it's a lot different.
The rom is really cool for a preview build, the only things that don't work is browser and display in settigs crash
User error here...I tried deleting the assert line but am now getting an error 6 I believe. I may have deleted too much or not enough. Could someone be kind enough and just upload the working updater-script please? Thx in advance to whoever responds.

You need to use the 6.0.1.9 recovery, or the new twrp. It is the same issue we had with old recoveries on the Galaxy Nexus. That should solve that, though I still have no use of my external sd

That's something I can live with. Will see how the next build is so I can dirty flash. I love having quick settings as the right side pull down, and also how pull down resizes to the contents.

I can do that later, just tested this and it looks like amarullz changed the formatting from 2.56 to 2.70...the text I put in isn't showing up.
It still works though if you know the order from top to bottom: CWM, CWM Touch, TWRP
Just no text is visible...
Or maybe it's because of the theme and the colors weren't applied correctly..I'll look into it later to fix it.
Can someone else try this out and tell me if the text is visible? It may just be my device.

Great idea...
I had a problem a couple of weeks ago where I had unlocked my bootloader, flashed TWRP & SSU, (and then decided I was happy with the stock ROM for the time being) only to get a notification a few minutes after re-setting up my M8 about the OTA to 1.54.401.5.
Had to reflash stock recovery via Fastboot, do the OTA, relfash TWRP and then somehow I lost root so had to reflash SSU.
This would have been perfect....I'll keep it for future as I'm still with the stock ROM for now
Thanks! :good:
Nice was on twrp now on philz really nice mode work's great
Thanks for this

ok, so im slow, please take it easy on me
So after you flash this do you essentially have 2 recoveries and then you can pick between the 2 when you load into recovery mode?

I tried it, it works good, certainly easier then flash via computer in fastboot, but there is only one recovery can be installed at a time, you have to re flash the app if you want to switch, unless I am missing something.
Can this be done like the dual recovery for the Xperia phones, volume down power goes into TWRP, volume up power goes into CMW.
Thanks

Yes one at a time
Well I have no knowledge on how that is done on xpera phone but as said before this is just to make flashing a different recovery on your phone a breeze

6 Days Late but no h8 but...
As seen in the newer version of twrp it didn't seem necessary to update(From the ability to flash imgs right from the recovery truly awesome) if you want to see one would need more the 3 people to say yes
