Purpleish Hue Capacitive Buttons? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have just got yet another exchanged HTC One. This time around it came with purple whiteish capacitive Buttons.
I know this isn't normal because I've got another One right beside me with white buttons.
Anyhow, does anyone else have this problem too? Did you decide to sacrifice it (live with it) or send it back in?
Thanks

Mine are purple whiteish too. I quite like it tbh.

My last one had a pinkish hue and was the main reason I had it replaced.

Mine have a slight purplish hue...looks normal to me. Probably just a variation in versions....doesn't bother me at all.

Mine definitely have purple hue, hadn't even noticed this until now! Doesn't bother me though.

purple hue is cool!

You changed device because of the hue of the buttons?
Did you have any trouble at the point of sale getting them to do it?
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app

Mine also has a slight purple tinge to it, but I quite like it as the buttons are not too bright then

At least you guys have a purple or pink hue to the capacitive lights - mine's don't light up at all! Need to figure out if I've got a fault or not. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

It only lights up in the dark. Try it in a dark room, see if they light up.

I assume this was to me.
It wasn't the only reason but it was the main reason. Also had a couple of slight build quality issues. Had no problems exchanging it as I was within the 28 days and the phone was faulty because of these issues. If the buttons had been a full on colour rather than just a very slight tint, I'd not have been bothered, but as it was it just made it look a dirty white rather than a clean white.

Mine is also purple so by the looks of it, it's very normal.

My screen is all BLUE!

Well sort of. My phone has a really really blue tint to it. I'm not sure what it is but no reds nor yellow colors can't be seen. The yellow looks really green. As for the red it looks really dark red somewhat blackish. Tried replacing the amoled 3 times. Still same.

Try settings-> cyanogenmod-> interface-> render effect, and play about with the settings there.
I did that already. Lol its on no effect and its blue! I put it on night mode which is red. The screen turns super dark. Almost a black color.

I don't know anything else to do then, sorry
I know I ordered my 4th amoled display hopefully it works!
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
You ordered a 4th screen? It's obviously not the screen. But the controller or something else wrong with the hardware or just the connection to the screen itself.
The chances of the first replacement having the exact same problem is pretty low, but 3 screens all acting the exact same means the screen is working perfectly. Replacing it again will not fix it.
My original amoled display ribbon ripped so I ordered another from China. That's when it was blue. maybe its not original although it states it is

I ordered from different people. Of course I gotta refund when it didn't work. $50+ for display. No effing way!!

Notification light Color

Since HTC named their phone the one like the geniuses they are it's hard to get details on if it's the same light from one X, green and amber.
Anyone know? I might not get it if it's not multicolored like every other major android phone. Like to customize that and the other lights are better.
Sent from my One X using xda premium
I've read it's not multicolor like Samsung phones, apparently it's just like 3 colors... amber, green and yellow? I'm not sure. But it's not multicolor like you're thinking.
My One X only did green and red, not amber? Interesting..
Sent from my XT925 using xda premium
Yeah, shame it's not multi colour. With Samsung you can't customise the colours by default anyway, and the apps you can use to modify the notifications are buggy at best.

apparently yellow can be done by turning both green and red at the same time, i think it is capable of doing it, but not exactly sure if you're able to use it.

Lol what?? Not At their level just because it doesn't have the colors of the rainbow as LED colors. Haha get out of here. What's the point of so many colors? You need one color to let you know battery is low(red) and one for notifications and to let you know battery is charged(green).
Most ridiculous complaint ever.

there is a file somewhere which you just have to push different numbers to using the echo command.
Think there are loads of apps that do this.
I've only seen the light as amber for charging and green for fully charged.
The RGB notification LED of say the Galaxy S3 was good, what always bugged me was the lack of native support by Android. Apps that allowed you to customise them always caused excessive wakelocks and I never liked their subsequent effect on battery life. I'll care about LED's if Android can support them natively (hoping that would have a little to no effect on battery life) otherwise they add little value in my eyes.

Black or White?

My upgrade is coming up and I am definitely getting the One. I do not want another Samsung because of the build quality but Idk which color to get. I heard the black one attracts fingerprints but I will most likely have a case on it. I've had black phones my entire life but I am leaning towards the silver. People who own the One, which one looks better?

The black HTC one is not available yet for Sprint so you might not get many responses (since this is a Sprint HTC One forum). You may want to ask your question though in the general HTC One board. For what its worth, I have played with a working version of the silver and a dummy of the black and I am holding out for the black one. The black one is suppose to be available in a few weeks so if you want it now, the silver is your only choice.
Silver because that's the only color HTC would hook me up with.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
My previous phones have also been black, so I got the silver to change it up. If you get the silver I don't think you will regret it. I am definitely not.
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk 2
I've never had a silver phone, but coming from the AT&T GS2 skyrocket the bare metal look of the silver really compliments the build quality.
I've always had black phones. But I decided to go for silver. Not regretting it.
I was going to hold out for the black, but I also knew I was going to get the HTC hard case for it. Once I saw one with the case on, I realized you can't tell if the phone is black or silver so I grabbed the silver one.

Sprint sold out of the black One so there are people that have it that can tell you there experience here. You just won't be able get one for a little bit until sprint gets them back in stock.

When I went to the sprint store they had both on display. I played with the black one and it was just to prone to finger prints for my liking. So I'd go with the Silver one.

Alright thanks guys. I wasn't aware of the unavailability of the black One but it looks like a lot of people like the silver one regardless. I'm going to have a case on it either way so the fingerprints on the black wouldn't matter but I've had black the whole time so I'll get silver. How is the One for the people that have it? Any problems with it yet?

Silver looked way better. The black one is so dull and boring. I thought it was a Blackberry10
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
The black isn't bad looking but the one i got to use a few months back like went out of its way to suck all the oil from my hands and lather itself in it. The silver one is shinier so you don't notice the oil nearly as much. Also I'm sure scratches will show up way more prominently on the black version.

Blue lines

I was wondering if anyone else is able to notice blue Lines on the screen when the display is off? If I have my display off and I tilt my phone I can see blue lines both horizontally and vertically depending on how I hold the phone. I didn't notice this on my original One that I got the week the phone was released, but it was immediately apparent on the NIB replacement I got 2 weeks later. I only see horizontal lines though, no vertical ones. The screen with the lines also seemed a bit brighter, but I never got a chance to compare both side by side.

Android 4.3

I know I am to be taken with a grain of salt, I am a corporate store technician and talked to our HTC rep today. She is saying that Sprint decided to skip 4.2.2 and go right to 4.3 with its upgrade to the HTC One. I also got to look at the red version today as well and I am going to see about trading my black one for the red. She did not give any timeframe of when the 4.3 update will come out.

They only had a mockup for me to look at so unfortunately not, but the red is like an ironman red it looks really good. I will have the actual units tomorrow in inventory we will be putting one under glass to show the color so I will play more with it then and see what the finished product looks like.

I think that's just overexposure. It may also be a combination of white balance and overexposure. It is common with any type of digital camera to have uncommon colors. One major reason is because of the digital white balance correction.
Sent from my HTCONE using xda premium
I don't know what you guys are say'n..That Phone is clearly pink....
The first picture is inaccurate. The second one is right.
If the problem is overexposure, then that means the tap to focus doesn't work very well. I always tap on my subject, yet I have several pictures where the reds look orange. I shouldn't have to mess around other than having to tap on my subject to get the right exposure etc.
EDIT: Whatever, it's OK.
The red One still looks sick, especially with the black accents.
I was just messing around man..The phone looks hot..But unless Sprint and HTC do something about the radio it's just another one..Thanks for the pics though.
That is because of the way the digital light meter reads the scene. Again, this is an issue that plagues even professional cameras both film and digital. This issue often crops up in difficult lighting situations with a lot of contrast. Hope this helps explain a little. Also the red one looks sweet!

If Sprint releases the Red HTC One with 4.2.2, we would already have it on ours. There's nothing different in those internals than what's on ours. They can't control the update to the device based on color. It will release with 4.1.2.
