[Q] I9070p custom kernels?! - Galaxy S Advance I9070 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all, im currently running rooted Jelly bean on my 9070P, with few stock apps removed, but im still looking way to improve battery life and overall speed ot the device.
CoCore-E-6.0 was in my sights, but are there other mods to consider, which dont cripple anything (losing NFC ability is currently tolerable).
Of course the kernel must be compatible with P version, but as i heard, they all pretty much are, without the risk of bricking the phone?
Thanks.

Afaik there are no custom 4.1 kernels that are specifically for i9070p... i have cokernel e 6.0 and its working quite good.

Can you please elaborate on "quite good", what isnt working, what is worse than stock? Did you use TWRP?

I use CWM and everything except nfc doesnt work... otherwise its exactly like on the i9070 everything
is smooth and snappy... I can last a whole day with one charge what is quite good for my usage.

I hope you meant everything besides NFC does work
If you say it can last a day with one charge on your usage, how much did it last with stock JB?

About a day too... yes everything except nfc works...

UI lag in JB i9070p

Hi. I installed JB on my phone, but the interface lags (after factory reset too). EXCEPT when I'm charging it. It runs buttery smooth then. Is it possible to fix something like that?

Try to install Cocore-E
But if you want to instal cocore, can I use the stock JB? I don't want to flash dodexe or smth like that
Yes, you can install any kernel you want without deodex the system
Sent from my GT-I9070 using xda premium
Yes. Installed it. It's good, well the lag is there, but it is smaller and the phone lags less. Thanks guys. Also, are there any custom roms on it?

Would be nice if Hashcode & DHacker join the Party. Those two Guys made the XT910 an official supported CM Device

just a personal opinion here... I don't see much difference between Omar's rom and CM 10.1 (apart from having something else to flash).

yes, I have a Razr Maxx running 10.1 and apart from some bells and whistles I think the Razr i is a far better phone even without Cm. But as I said... it is fun to have different roms to flash so the more the merrier.
i thought about flashing omars rom, but as i red there a still some unsolved bugs, Is there an internal updater? without im not willing to flash his rom

[KERNEL] Ouya-Odysseus-Kernel-V0.1 15-09-2013

This is a custom kernel for the ouya gaming console based on stock kernel source.
My goal is to improve performance and stability.
Kernel Features:
compiled with linaro 4.7.4 toolchain
memory performance tweak
improved async I/O latency
For now i have to admit I'm new to kernel-development, so dont expect anything too fancy yet.
Download:
None for now - Anyone interested in alpha-testing is welcome to apply via pm. be sure to know how to get back to stock if anything goes wrong.
Disclaimer:
I'm not and will never be responsible for what you do to your device.
This piece of software is provided as is, without any guarantee on functionality. If something breaks you better know how to get back to stock by yourself.

Just to keep you informed: for now the boot.img doesn't boot up correctly. Since I was that stupid to just flash new boot.img i'll have to unbrick first and then look what is causing this issue.
Btw anyone got news on uart?
Recover from brick has highest priority for now

good thing you have this included in your kernel:
https://github.com/invisiblek/andro...mmit/f745249b52cab9feb5b7821b54d47176ae093617
hmm already tried that but didnt work =/ but thanks anyway.
seems like kernel does panic quite early and then just sits there doing nothing. then even sysrq + X doesnt work.
but will keep on trying the coming days.
if nothing helps i may have to get myself a new ouya. good those aren't that expensive
new ouya on the way... could take some time to ship to germany tho...
If you plan to keep developing this you need to make sure you give instructions to users of how to boot this without flashing using fastboot. Because of the lack of good recovery options it doesn't make sense giving users a flashable kernel they can't recover from. Keep up the work though. There aren't many devs working on the Ouya...
I surely will keep on developing this kernel. But first I want a bootable build and need to know what broke mine. This i can't be sure of before I get my new outs...(should arrive this week).
Then I'll give it out to some testers. Only when I think it's stable and safe enough to make it public I'll post link and steps how to flash.
Gesendet von meinem HTC One X+ mit Tapatalk 2
Oh and about fastboot. I could make a flashable zip but don't think that would change anything... Maybe with safe recovery... Will have to test

This kernel is dead ?
Not dead, just way too much going on in my life for now. I will let you know if there are any news.

Fastest ROM?

I just got this device recently and I immediately flashed CM9 which turned out to be very slow on this device.
I don't need any of the special features of ICS/JB/KK, I just want a fast ROM. Is CM7 the fastest?
Thanks!
If you have non-cdma version, flash KitKat.
Android 4.x has better feature, better app support, and stability.
Also, if you feel slow, greenify, seeder etc. will speed up a lot.

As soon as you flash any altered files, Knox will know.
Flashing a rom requires a custom recovery, no way around that.
Maybe the playstore or on xda, have apps that can give you the features you feel you need?
Well I read last night about ROMs whit out root like on the s8 forums I saw couple ROMs like that saiding with no root make me think if that's possible for ours device ? ?
Here the link about the ROM in the s8 forum https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/development/rom-slick-rom-performance-battery-t3769766
