Try this, it works for me.
Open the Settings.
Now tap on “apps”.
Then swiper to the right until you top the All apps.
And then Tab on “Eco Controller mode”.
Now tap Force stop and then Clear data
restart your Sony Xperia Z by holding the on / off and volume up buttons simultaneously, or by holding the on / off inside until a popup when you press the switch.

Worked for me too, thanks. I've just flashed the 253 kernel for now so put it down to not flashing the ROM too, but it's gone from 12 hours to 1 day 21 hours.

It suddenly stopped working for me as well, so I forced stopped it and cleared data, then rebooted..
Now it does not start up again and if I try to enter Stamina Mode from settings it just says "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped."
If I go into applications and press Eco Mode Controller, none of the buttons are pushable..
Anyone know about a fix for this?

Maybe clear your caches, if you didn't do the reset perhaps that's whats thrown it.

Caches as in Cache in CWM?

Same for me as well. On a trip so don't intend to force it until I return.

I got impatient so I just used adb to sideload it.
You can force it by erasing cache of the app 'google service framework'. Before you do it, enable fly mode. After the erase and force close of the app enable fly mode and wait a minute or so. Worked for me

This is what I did and after 3 times it still isn't working. I tried clearing data, too. Still not getting any update notification and if I go to system update for a manual check it tells me my system is up to date.
Me no got it yet either!!
Checked using above method several times, still NOTHING!
Just installed the OTA update file through sideload
Make sure you're on 4.2.1 build JOP40D before using the file from the above link.
Worked a treat.
you dont even have to turn airplane mode on/off just clear data or cache if you will.. its mostly data though..
Worked for me in UK thanks

OK it finally works for me. I just deleted data on framework then I didn't consent to googles location service when it popped up. Checked for update manually and boom its there. Gotta get to WiFi though to install it.
EDIT
everything went through fine and I was able to keep root through ota root keeper.

Delete "Google Service Framework" data and force close
Connect to wifi (recommended) or disable airplane mode

It's a root's bug, not mod.
Can confirm this works with KA06. When you reboot and open power management in settings, there'll be a FC. Wait a while and try to access it again.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Mini GT-S5570B died after Cyanogenmod 7.2.

I was using that rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085347, and after install Cyanogenmod 7.2 (http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?type=stable&device=tass) on my phone, i click "Reboot system now" on recovery mode (Clockworkmod Recovery 5.0.2.8), and they just dont turned ON again, and now, NOTHING WORKS.
I tried to remove battery, put battery, i tried all the keys combo on the phone, and they even turn on the display, only the mode thats working is the RAMDump (Arm9), but still with the screen off. How i now thats rampdum mode is working? I connect the phone on my pc through the USB and pressed Home Button + Power Button + Volume UP Button and my PC recognize him, but i think there are nothing i could do with ramdump mode. Unofficial CyanogenMod 10.1 - home doesn't work

Hi,
I downloaded a JB 4.2.2 CyanogenMod ROM from the original development's thread. I tried a couple of similar ROMs previously, but my home button doesn't work correctly on apparently any Ice Cream Sandwich + ROM. Essentially what happens is, when the screen is on, the home button is completely useless. Pressing it down, waiting for a few seconds - it just doesn't respond to any command. There are almost no options in the phone related to hardware buttons, and if I, for example, select an option to make holding down the hme button bring up the multitasking window, it still doesn't do anything. The only situation where I observed it doing anything is when the phone's screen is off - pressing the button instantly wakes the device up. I tried flashing the badass kernel, though it didn't really do much. Other hardware buttons seem to be working just fine. I had no such problem on CyanogenMod 7.2 and when I restore a backup with this system, it still works correctly. I don't have problems with getting into recovery either.
Another thing with this ROM is, the lockscreen doesn't appear, no matter if I set a security pattern, set it to slide or whatever else. Pressing the wake button or home button instantly wakes the device up.
I'm not sure whether it's a ROM-specific problem or what, but regardless, as a new user, this is the only forum I can post this problem to. If anyone knows a solution or if such a problem was solved previously, I'd be happy to learn the fix.

[Q] Stuck (while doing a factory reset). Help needed.

I don't know if it takes this long for XperiaZ to reset. It has been more than 15 minutes but it is stuck at the screen I have posted below. Should I wait and if it's really stuck any workaround to the problem would be highly appreciated....
Bump. Sorry for bumping but need a solution.
Just wait. Phone is repairing itself. Must be some file corruption. Can take minutes, or even hours.....

Has it happened to you. If it stays the same even after hours is there a workaround? One more question, in what mode is it right now?
I'm rarely on any firmware long enough to develop any file system issues - nothing like a good flash with a full wipe to clean everything up
But I have read that it will eventually sort itself out.
Has it finished and rebooted yet?
Edit: It is in some sort of repair mode. Not sure if it has an official name.
If you cant wait, you can try flashing an ftf with wipe data unticked in flashtool.

Nope. Will Sony update service help. By good flash you mean flashing via Flash Tool?
Update:-
Guess What, I connected the USB and than pressed Volume UP + Power Button and than pressing Volume Down key and Sony update service detected the device. Will update the post soon.

No problem. If you have dual recovery, try TWRP next time. Cwm has a habit of corrupting cache partition on locked bootloader.

Noted. But I have a locked bootloader with no root. Will try TWRP only as dual recovery doesn't sound promising (I might be wrong).
