You can't as far as I'm aware , just ignore it till it boots into your chosen rom , it does no harm unless you plan to lock the phone and sell it where I would guess it will disappear ?
Sorry I have no experience in this as I've never relocked a phone

Read this thread. It was the first thread I read when I joined and I consider myself very lucky for that.
Make sure you follow ALL the steps..
Now please answer a few questions..
1) Are you able to boot into bootloader mode? (using volume down and power button)
2) Does it say unlocked?
3) Did you find the rom on this forum?
4) Did you install a custom recovery like CWM or TWRP?
First read that thread
Edit: Wait a second.. CM 10.1??

Bro, you can only install desire c roms on your phone, you may br mistaken but roms are ABSOLUTELY NOT INTERCHANGABLE. Try flashing a rom from the desire c android development forums.

First download a recovery image. Save it in the platform tools folder of your android SDK install.
Go to bootloader, plug your USB cable into the PC, enter fastboot. On your PC navigate to the platform tools folder again, Ctrl+shift + right click and select "open command window here", or something similar. Type fastboot devices to see if your phone is connected. Then fastboot erase cache and fastboot flash recovery <name of your recovery image>.img plug out your cable and try to boot into recovery.
Should fix it

Hi to all, I am using htc desire c golfu and I am facing a problem with cwm red message "this build is for development purposes only" specially when i am trying to install via fastboot any boot.img (such as kernel or rom image that is responsible for wifi to work and the phone doesn't boot to homescreen, reboots again with the htc logo and cwm red message below)!. (As with Nameless rom guide,What i haven't done in those two ways i tried to install the images was to take out the battery, I boot to bootloader by holding volume down + Power!
So, what I had to do 2 times, was to relock and flash again the stock rom!
P.S. I don't have a problem installing rom zips with sdcard
Thanks for the help!

You need to have your bootloader unlocked. Install a custom rom and then install a kernel. Make sure you full wipe before you install the rom. Try the lowest possible frequency. Make sure you have the correct kernel.

I have to mention that I have done the root two times (I have a backup, full wipe with cwm and then flash zip from the card), but i stacked when I had to flash the boot.img (first was when I have flashed the "auto boot img" from revolution mod 3vs3 for fixing the wifi & second when I wanted to flash a nope kernel img with revolution job rom)! It's like the phone doesn't want the command boot.img (even though I see on my screen that it has been flashed but when I reboot, cwm red message appears)!

Try lower MHz kernel

Try pressing the power button and the volume up button at the same time while you're in stock recovery. When the option appears, go to "Apply update.zip" with the update linked earlier. You'll need to rename it to update.zip first, though.
If it works, go and find Visonary+ from the rooting thread and temproot, then re-do the rooting procedure. Afterwards, you should be able to flash a custom ROM. I suggest blay0's if you like the Sense UI. Otherwise, CyanogenMod 7 RC2 is amazing.
Thanks

Why not try it yourself?
@Gobczak, if HBOOT 1.00 phones work the same as 1.01, then you shouldn't need the froyo update. Follow the guide from the link ThauExodus posted. After successfully flashing the LEGEIMG.zip file, just move straight on to part 3 - downgrading. It worked for me.
did u ment part 3 rooting??
i tried not workind
first lashing and then set one my phone hangs at htc sign
so i flashed again and tried to root using only step3 from r4 did not work again

No I have an AU VF Legend.
This is what I did (on win7):
STEP 1: Make Goldcard
a) Put card in card reader, open command prompt and type:
Code:
format [drive letter]: /FS:FAT32 <enter>
where [drive letter] is the drive letter of the card. Did it this way as there seemed to be trouble using the usual format tool. Think it was just user error though.
b) Put card back in phone, and follow the first part of the guide exactly to make the goldcard.
STEP 2: Follow the second guide exactly, up to the point where it says:
Phone will reboot and find LEGEIMG.zip on your sdcard, copy it into RAM and check it.
Click to collapse
Here, I had to use up/down volume buttons to highlight the "recovery" option then press power button. Phone will then attempt to read the LEGEIMG.zip file. Now if it works it will print messages at the bottom of the screen about loading the file etc. But if it just prints a few lines very quickly and then goes away, try reading what it says. If it says something like: "no image or wrong image", either LEGEIMG.zip isn't in the root of the card, or the card isn't a proper goldcard. Fix those problems (remake goldcard etc).
STEP 3: Follow the third part of the guide - downgrading/rooting.
Now, here I ran into another problem that seems to work ok for everyone else. When I ran the 'step1-windows.bat', it would freeze when it was at the "Writing zip..." part, and I had to remove the battery from the phone to turn it off and try again. This kept happening, and a few people said to just try running the 'step2-windows.bat' file and forget about the first one. This worked.
So after that I had a rooted Legend. Why I had problems at certain points of the guide when no-one else seems to, I don't know.
the whole problem was the gold card
thank u mate

Help! Phone boots when it wants to

Ok, i unlocked my bootloader then this started happening.
This build is for development purpose only. Do not distribute outside of HTC without HTC's written permission. Failure to comply may lead to legal action.
After it does this, it does nothing else. If im lucky enough i can get it to boot the bootloader. It takes a while for me even to get it to turn on. I think i may have flashed a bad kernel or something. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.. (RUU installer says my HBOOT version is " ", not sure what that meant)
What i did before it happened:
Unlocked the bootloader
got the "This build is for development purpose only" message
**Problems started here**
Flashed CWM (worked for a short time and gave up)
Tried flashing CM10 with no luck
Tried to flash a boot.img (not sure which one i tried)
**and here**
(I will update this if i get it to boot..)
Check this forum for a solution and just for clarity it IS the Desire C you have and NOT Desire C Cricket?
If you don't have any joy with what is in the forum to get your phone up and running send me a PM

why cant you hook it up to a computer? i see that your getting fastboot and TWRP? if you can get either you should be able to sideload from the computer what you need to boot up again.
if you only have fastboot. then load TWRP via fastboot and then from TWRP, use sideload/command prompt to pump a rom on and then voila you should be good. if you already have TWRP just start from there..

after your sideloading the rom onto the phone is it running and are you going through the installation? if you are and its still not loading properly then you may have a corrupted SD. you can try running a RUU. i think you have an ATT phone? if your S-OFF you can try this file ATT Android 4.3 RUU EXE file
that is the full RUU. it should ask you to start in a fully booted mode. just go ahead and start in Fastboot. when you press start it just sends the command to restart phone into fastboot so you can inject from there. i might be able to find something else for you but for now try this(assuming your s-off XD)

I am having facing the same issue. I need to manually reset my phone. I have the problem that the phone does not ring when in the pocket mode. I tried hard reset, wipe cache and also tried factory reset. The HTC chat person told that your phone is made in US and hence they wont repair it here in UK. Instead they sent me the link to US's HTC website for more information.
Here is the link where they download the Operating System: htc dot come slash us slash support slash rom-downloads dot html
PLEASE let me know if you succeed in getting the appropriate ROM for your phone.
Good Luck :good:
By the way my phone is not locked to any network.

Mines closed out to until I figured you have to make sure your boot loader says relocked or locked or else it cant run the installer. When you boot on boot loader screen make sure it's locked once it's locked RE run it again and it will run install stock rom.

Ok so my HTC Desire 626s is "relocked" right now and I'm on the bootloader menu (the white one). I open up the install wizard which is the correct one and it brings up the license and all that. I click "I accept", then hit Next. It just closes out.

It maybe a program problem delete it and re-download it because if you don't get to the part where it says install image rom. It's a program problem it might have downloaded incorrectly re-download it and make sure where you downloaded it is the official ruu program and not some random website.
