[QUESTION] AllianceROM for I9305 - Galaxy S III I9305 (4G LTE + 2GB RAM) Q&A, Help &

Hi All
So I was thinking of bringing ny rom to i9305 or s3 mini. You can read and see the features here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2037363
I wanted to know what the userbase is like for i9305 compared with S3 mini? Would there be plenty of people here who would want to try it?
Thanks
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2

I must say i'm can wait for an AllianceROM for I9305, the userbase is bigger that on S3 mini the have nearly 6k posts and we have 14k+ and i see people that are buying i9305 now that the price is down (the ones that don't want to buy, or can't a S4), plus we have a 2Gb ram on the phone that will help in future.
In the end you decide but i thing that i9305 is the better option.

I would love to try it, sounds exiting.

Ok thanks guys. Ive got agreement from the mrs to get a second contract but first I need to wait til I get the £49.99 upfront payment via my donations. I thought this wouldnt take long seeing as over 8000 people downloaded my s2 rom over the last 2 weeks but it seems everyone likes something for free. Will bring the rom as soon as I reach that target.
Thanks for your replies

If you read a litle further in this section you find your answer
Some fellow XDA and other develpers (Arco68, YardE, skywalker01, manveru0 between the more important of the project) are working to the porting of the CyanogenMod for the Samsung I9001.
Currently many progresses are made, in this post you can read the current changelog and download the current test version.

Well, looking at the small number of stable final GB rom releases for SGS+ (when for SGS soooo many ICS roms are already available) I would strongly recommend buing SGS (without +) if you can find one
PS. last year I was a happy user of SGS for few months, when my friend also bought SGS. Unfortunately it came out that he bought SGS+, and when I was switching from one GB rom to another, he was waiting for ANY stable gb rom applicable to i9001. And waiting. And waiting. He was waiting for so long that finally his SGS+ got stollen and he never had a chance to feel any non-stock rom...
Tbh i9001 is a good phone but if you want custom roms there's more out there for i9000 (original Galaxy S) or for i9100 (Galaxy SII) at the moment. Active progress is being made on porting android 4 to the S+ however.

Yes there's ICS for i9001. I'm using it right now - cm9 by Arco. Great rom, so much better than stock Sammy 2.3.6. But some drivers simply do not exist at the moment (camera). Audio drivers is a little bit crappy. But ICS is so great that's why cm9 is my everyday rom. But graphics driver is better. Look on Temple Run played on stock and CM9, ICS wins.

I can... but i dont have a galaxy tab, so will need testers.
People do not seem to be so interested in Remics here i suppose.
I'm not sure its a good idea anymore. It seems a lot of cdma tabs internal memory is getting screwed up running a ics rom. As much as I would love to run a ics rom on my cdma tab, its just not worth taking the chance.

Building a nice modified/themed custom rom based off the stock gingerbread rom would be nice.

U guys have the same problems with JB?
Sadly i dont work with GB now.. Besides themeing takes a lot of time and effort. Dont have that much time these days.
Not sure about JB, us cdma tab owners got abandoned from JB. A pre-beta was made on rootzwiki but its been awhile since a update. I think he's busy doing other things. If you wanna give it a shot, go for it...

Wait.. I don't know much about galaxy tab and it's variants. I suppose P1000 is the international gsm model. Which are the rest?? And which of them are compatible with flashing P1000 roms?
Sent from my GT-I9003
Cdma tab is the sprint/verizon version, it goes by p1c on the cm 9 website. It doesn't use a sim card. The other models either use a sim or is wifi only.

[Q] Why is development on the I9305 so slow?

Not trying to attack anyone, but why is the development so slow for our device? I see the I9300 has CM10.1 and lots of custom ROMS while the I9305 has only 1 custom kernal with no CM support. is it because we don't have sources?
Thank you :good:

because
- there are more i9300 users then i9305
- The i9300 and i9305 are not the same so what will work o the i9300 wont work on the i9305
etc etc
In the case of CM, I don't imagine the CM team are rushing to buy I9305s after their experiences with Exynos and the I9300
/An I9300 owner who is jealous of your 2GB RAM
I would have thought the extra 2 gig of ram would have been inviting to developers.

Have you flash the latest firmware from India? After wiping phone data performance was as good as on gingerbread for me...
but I would really use at least custom kernel. Cocore is a good choice :good:
Okay, why open a new thread for it?
This is called marketing strategy by Samsung !
With the jellybean update ..
They are slowing down old phones !
They are trying to make you think that your phone is now old and not power ful and you should buy new phone !
Just use custom kernal ....
And make your phone fast again

Or you go back to Gingerbread and wait for CM10.
I tried it today. Some really annoying bugs, especially the vibrating and the not working camera but I didn't saw our phone so smooth yet. It was really cool

Then its depending on your country what firmware you have. You have only the newest one if you're from India.
If you're from Russia, you have LQ4. Updating to Indian DDULP8 should be a big improvement. In Serbia, you get LQB, then the difference is much smaller.
To the Chinese update I cannot say anything, for us from other countries its dangerous to flash it
I made the update one or two months ago with LQ4 firmware. I didn't wpe data too, I was also disappointed. Now running Pure Vanilla V4 on base of Indian firmware with Cocore kernel it has become much better, only battery time is much lower than on gb.

Actually you are the idiot here. Thinking its samsung marketing strategy to update phone software to make it slower, so that people will buy new phones.
if they really did that, people are dump enough to think like you thought , then they will buy new phone. But it wont be a SAMSUNG phone
And please take a deep breath, and take it easy. I didn't mean to offend you.
Actually the same thing also happened with galaxy nexus with the 4.2.2 update ..... That phone also become slower after the update ...
Just because Google wants that people should buy the latest and greatest nexus phone ....
By the way you are junior member on xda and I am senior member so mind your behavior !

So i loose temper .....
Btw i have my own Rom Super Optimus for optimus one ....
But i didn't shared it to others .....(because i didnt have my own pc to update it regularly for other people)
And in s3 i am using the 4.2.1 official rom from sammobile with tweaked kernal ...(i didn't needed to build my own rom ,because there are already such great roms developed by great developers )
I concentrate more on apps and mods ....
Like trimming the size of the apps
Theming
Games porting armv7 to armv6
And things like that

[Request] PARANOID ANDROID for i9305

Since the official PA dev has quit the support for our devices, many users (including me) would love and appreciate if some other dev with the time, knowledge and willing could take over.
I'm not demanding for anything, I'm just hoping for some kind dev to help us out, since PA is my and many users favorite custom rom.
I also want to thank @gokussjx for his hard work, I totally understand his choice since I'm myself a student, and free time is gold.

Hello,
I've seen that last Paranoid version on xda is based on 4.3 JB : is there any chances to see Kitkat based version of Paranoid on i9305 ?

Can you help me with my problem maybe? I have problem to get cwm recovery on I9305 (bought from T-Mobile) , each time I try to do it with Odin it loads back stock recovery. Apparently it is because boot-recovery.p
and I don't know how to go around it since this is relatively all new to me.

Try looking for threads here in xda that will show you exactly what to do. Do your research, I know there's something that will help you. You could try with TWRP.
