I had a similar problem i rooted my kfhd and it became so slow it wouldnt turn on eventully after 30min. it turned on but was so slow when i sided to unlock it took five minutes. I also i tried rerooting without unroot. it worked so i used binary's root like i was unrooted and my kindle was back again. it turned out when i rooted i only had 50% battery and you NEED to have at least 90%. this also fixed any audio issues. Problem solved, it's really simple. Some non-amazon apps put the media volume off, which isn't regulated through the normal settings. I downloaded "Quickmute" from the amazon app store and regulated the media volume that way, so that my speakers started working again.
So don't be afraid of installing non-amazon media apps, just make sure to fix sound problems with quickmute or compareable apps.

What third party apps have you installed that allow you to play with system volume (turn the volume up or down onscreen not with the physical buttons). Try to remember all the apps you have installed that you could have changed your sound settings in. If you can think of any app at all (even one you may have uninstalled) reinstall it and change your settings back to normal with whatever app it was and the uninstall the app again. Sounds strange, but I had that happen to me once

[Q] Sound Not Working KFHD

Hello all!
I am new to the forums and I have a problem with my rooted KFHD7 version 7.2.1. All of a sudden the sound stopped working. No crackling, no popping, nothing. I have read in the forums that it may be a non-amazon app that has muted the volume which would not be controlled my the volume rocker. I have checked all other apps and even went as far to delete any user apps via Titanium Backup.
The only changes I have made in the last week or two was a change to the build.prop to remove the Amazon navigation bar. Has anyone run into this before? Suggestions? Thank you very much for your time.

I am unable to set a custom alarm tone. I tried putting the ogg file in alarms and notifications, but just no luck.

Very stable, could be new FW forces higher voltage to WiFi unit, even the range is slightly extended. I noticed it because I get better signal in bathroom
@alray No keyboards support my language, so having swype or something like that is useless. But I will try with others, just for the sake of vibro

You are not forced to use the swipe functionally if you don't want, even if using swiftkey. You can change the vibration in swiftkey to what you like.

There is one thing you can try if your device is rooted. Not sure if it will work but if you go to play store and download keyboard backlight controller by deskangel, and then open it and tap lock on backlight it might work.

It works, but the buttons remain lit even after you turn the screen off.
Make sure "only when screen on" is enabled. I cant test it because I don't want root anymore

Phone won't enter "deep sleep" with Bluetooth on?

Is this normal? I'm completely stock other than being rooted and CPU spy shows that my phone simply won't enter deep sleep unless my Bluetooth is completely off.

The phone is probably awake to read the status of the Bluetooth headset to respond to voice commands or the press of the call button.

Damn. I guess I should try a factory reset or something. Just to confirm, are you using CPU spy or a different app to track sleep?

A good advice is to root, install better battery stats and report back.

I guess you do not see this type of difference in the Active bar if you compare a day/period connected to your watch vs not connected.

Right. Not sure it makes much sense to compare to a completely different device anyway.

Yes you are right, but if it is a system type of stuff could be cross-devices. I've seen something identical on a Note 3 and LG G2. It could also be that N6, Z3, Note 3 and G2 use all a similar BT hardware.
Or if there is an app creating the wakelock (what I hope), it would definitely be a cross device.
This is the reason why I'm here in a N6 forum to seek for inspiration of something that is driving me crazy!!

Note 8 Notification panel swipes up by itself.

So this is my replacement Note 8 cuz my last one was giving me LTE problems. That problem seems to be gone now. But now my notification panel( when swiped down) swipes back up on its own. Same when making a selection. If I turn Wi-Fi on or off, the panel jus swipes . Also it does not do this all the time but pretty often. Any fix???

Guess, you could try a factory reset to see if that fixes it. (You can also Tell Bixby to restart into SAFE mode and see if it happens, cause that will indicate if its an app that you've installed) But, maybe even try a different launcher first to see if it persists? If a different launcher fixes this...then try clearing the cache and data of the Samsung launcher...(sorry don't know what it's called). So, basically...Factory Reset as last resort. If Factory Reset doesn't resolve...then you might need another phone.
Factory reset didn't help. I have the same issue.

You could try and delete the cache and maybe data of each of the apps that you've installed one by one... Other than that, I don't know an easier way than a Reset.
I have the same issue. I haven't tried to fix it yet. If you find that it's an app or you find the problem please post.

I wonder if this has to do with the feature where the user can just swipe on the fingerprint sensor to pull down/up the notification shade. I know that can be turned off.
Both are disabled on my phone and the issue is still present.

happening to me too. just started doing either yesterday or the day before. I don't think I even installed any apps when it started happening. I already tried going back to touch wiz from nova and it is still doing it. Also tried turning on the fingerprint swipe to make the notifications open up, and it is still doing it. So its definitely not one of those issues.

I'm saying boot into safe mode, then, keep track of which apps you enable, perhaps one of the user apps is causing it.
Naturally,if you're in safe mode & it persists w/o re-enabling any user installed apps, then you have a defective phone.

not aware that safe mode allowed you to cherry pick which apps you wanted to be enabled or not. from my experiance, all user apps were disabled and that was it. What is doable in regular mode is disable all your apps and do the same thing enable or disable. but to me it would be much more conveniant to wipe everything. then if the issue is gone, reinstall app by app till you hit the culprit. but anyways to each his own.

because the feature he has issues with is a system level feature and i would doubt an app could affect it. and if a system setting was changed then wiping is a sure way to get that reverted.
just my 2 cents

Package Disabler Pro is a user installed app & it has profound effects on system apps functions (depending on what the user disables) ,so,that's where I'm coming from.
Using safe mode is a natural step in troubleshooting before resorting to a factory reset, regardless of what is assumed to be the obvious next step.

but it would also be obvious to the said user that if he or she would have disabled stuff in the manner you explained, they would not post here for help as it would have been obviously caused by his or hers own doing.

This happens to me when I restore something and it's trying to connect to an old bluetooth device like my car. The car sees the phone as the same but the phone doesn't see the car as a paired devices so the screen comes on everytime it tries to pair
