Yes, indeed. and much more noise on low light environment .

Honestly everything you linked are of totally different scenes taken at different points of the day it's very hard to do a comparison.

another example, at night

Yes, I confirm. Detailing has become better at night, but at other time...

I'm at 4.2.2 and have taken about 100 pics. I can't decide if they are better or worse. Outside pics seems to be even darker and in pics with both dark and light scenes there seems to be even more difficulties to choose the right spot to focus on, they tend to be either to dark or light.
I'll listening in in this thread before deciding this month Android version
Skickat från min HTC One via Tapatalk 2

I am also unsure. Have the impression that the 4.2.2. cause a lack of details in the pictures and I have problems with focus in the dark.
Gesendet von meinem A510 mit Tapatalk 2

After viewing the samples, I got an impression that pictures are noticeably brighter on 4.2.2.
At the moment I'm glad that I was patient and didn't throw myself into updating.

Better to wait.
Maybe ROM 2.17... will have a different version radioROM (HBOOT) than 1.29.....???

You guys are crazy. They've turned down the crazy over sharpening over contrasting algorithm in the new update. Shots are so much more lifelike and less noisy.
Some seem like they have less 'pop', but they are much more accurate and realistic.

has anyone in here called HTC because of the faulty camera module and got its mobile phone exchanged to a new one with better camera quality?

I did, but I think it was for a different problem than what the OP si experiencing (I think). I had a problem with blue/red/purple noise in low light scenes. Took the phone into service and got a replacement. Here is the problem I had (and others as well) along with before and after photos:

Impossible. Night will always try to reduce the ISO but in return uses a slower shutter speed. If Night Mode isn't doing that, it means it isn't dark enough for Night Mode to use it's full capabilities.
Take a picture showing the problem, post it here.
Is it like this? If yes please mail or call HTC about this problem. HTC already recognized the issue they just need more feedbacks and is collecting some more info to narrow down the issue.

Here's a quote of their response.
Hi everyone. I'm going to do my best to raise this issue, but in the past I've been told that unless something is a "call driver" (meaning people are calling into tech support about it) the issue doesn't always get enough attention. My suggestion would be for everyone affected by this issue to call HTC tech support in their local country and file a report on this problem. I wouldn't suggest sending in your phone for repair (I agree with the notion that this is a software issue) but get it on record as being a problem.

It's seems that I have a problem with Auto-iso cuz at night it always took a picture at 1600 even if there is a street light . I'll install ARHD Rom maybe it's a software problem.

[Q] Possible to abandon UltraPixels boosting the camera resolution of HTC One?

I have got the HTC One from the end of May. But I still have some questions on my phone's "UltraPixels" Camera.
I wonder whether this technology is a software adjustment or a hardware settings?
4 MegaPixels should be all right for daily usage, but I always like to pinch to zoom my photos while browsing.
HTC One failed to reveal some details in the picture comparing to Samsung GS4 or Sony Xperia Z. I want to ask if it is possible to abandon the UltraPixels technology to boost the camera resolution to 8MP or even 13MP? Any app can do it?
Attaching my photo taken using ultraPixel HTC One at Hong Kong IFC Centre!

Lol... I want what he's smoking
I want to make my 4 cylinder into a v8

I believe it's hardcoded into the sensor that it only uses 4 mp for the image, while the rest of the pixels on the sensor used solely for exposure and gathering light

The phone only has 4 megapixels
They are larger than your regular phone megapixels, there isn't separate sensors for gathering light since that's how all camera work in the first place.
So to the OP, no.. Do some research on how these things work. Really.

You need to learn how to take pictures with the One because the pictures you have posted are terrible quality and the first is washed out. You're always best to focus on the sky and underexpose the rest of the shot and then edit in Photoshop or something because the quality of pictures I've taken are way, way, way better than them lol

[Q] Fuzzy camera on some texts

Hi, I recently had to send back my HTC One because of the camera having problem with purple/reddish tint. Just recently my camera is now having problems focusing and is incredibly blurry to the point where I cannot read "small text".
I just took this recently from my text book, the text is incredibly blurry.

Here's another one that is clear.
I have tried refocusing, but it just gets blurier.
Bump anyone? I heard people having problems similar, but nobody has posted photos. Should I just send this thing back again?
Try another camera app. It's look like a focusing problem. Try focusing touching the screen. In camera settings, choose macro or text mode.

Tried all of that :/ Here's an attempt in Camera Zoom FX, which I guess is supposedly the best camera app out there. Is it possible that there's a hardware problem making it unable to focus on text?

You get that problem only focusing on text? May be a hardware problem if not focusing everything ..

Yeah that's the weird part, maybe it's not focusing larger text (my previous picture on the whiteboard as an example) but since it's larger it's harder to notice. I'll just talk to the warranty and send it back again.

Lens flare

Well, it seems that not only the Pixel suffers from lens flare...
Today I tried my op3t camera for the first time in low light condition and... the flare is there.
I'm attaching a picture, you can clearly see the 5 spots on the left of the lamp.
Does it do the same to you? As far as I understand it's a common problem between cameras.
Any way to avoid, or at least reduce it?
Thanks

There are some camera apps (like DSLR) where you can change the ISO, most of the time when you change to a high ISO value the flare would be less seen

Just tried it and it works. The thing that bothers me is that everytime there is an artificial light there is a flare...
I'm not an expert here but I think a lot of phones exhibit this. My wife's s6 edge plus has weird light retractions in low light.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
Yes. Most phones have it. It largely has to do with the lens attached to the phone. I've had more success on phones such as the Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra. Use such phones and go into manual mode. In all cases I was able to eliminate the lens flare. Too bad I had to switch to the 3T which is a better phone but poor shooter. Can't find a way to eliminate it there yet.
You captured a UFO! No way! Lol. Anyways my experience with low light conditions has been great. This is at a party. So clear I can zoom in to the musicians faces clearly absolutely 0 editing. With Snapseed I can lower the brightness of the lights overhead

Pinkish tint when tilting the phone?

Hello! I have noticed that my device is changing color when tilting the phone in different angles. It gets a slight pinkish/reddish tint and I wonder if everyone has this or if my screen is bad and if I should get the phone replaced? I took a video of it but it doesn't really show as much in the video as it does IRL. It's much more noticeable IRL. I can't add the video here due to XDA rules.
So, is this normal or should I get it replaced?
My s10 plus doesnt do this hmmm, do you run it on wqhd? See if that makes a difference if not I reccomend taking it back

It happens no matter the settings I use. Tried vivid turned to cool, tried to turn down the red color etc etc. It's only noticeable on a white/grey background. Like in the Gmail. I guess I'll try to get it replaced.

Seems like it's a common issue. Not sure if it's actually normal tho? A friend of mine has almost none of this issue on his. I also took a picture of it showing quite a lot of the issue.

I can see green edges if I tilt the phone.
